Re: ODT SUNDAY 6 SEPT ~ SAT SEPT 12

Trish, I would have loved to go to one of their concerts, but we didn't. I'm with Warwick on the yogurt, lol.

I was on the porch picking up a package from Walmart. The Amazon truck came and left a package at my neighbor's house. I got a text my package had been delivered. No package at my house. I walked across the street and it was my package. First time this has happened to me with all the Amazon packages I get.

I weighed this morning and weigh the same as last week. I guess that's better than a gain.

Today is laundry day...I have no specific day, just needs to be done today. I'm going to get my suitcase from the garage and start laying out what I want to take for this cruise.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 6 SEPT ~ SAT SEPT 12

Okay, I'm here.  I've been reading along most weeks, but this darned keyboard is just so weird.

This is what Cheryl is referring to. I thought she needed some hugs to wrap around herself during this difficult time.

I'll come back tomorrow if I can to post some updates.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 6 SEPT ~ SAT SEPT 12

Sandra- I had shingles 3 times in a short period of time about 20 years ago. It was diagnosed quickly each time, treated with an antiviral (valtrex) and last about a week each time. No big deal. I never got the shingles shot, nor did DH, and we won’t. After the Covid fiasco, (only took the first 3 shots)…no boosters, etc we never got any and have no plans for that either. We do get the flu shot every fall.
I have to get a tetanus shot as I haven’t had one in at least 15 years.
It’s pouring here in the Adirondacks since 4 this afternoon. Hopefully, it will rain itself out and warm up the rest of the time we’re here.
Carol- good to see you posting.  Love the quilt.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 6 SEPT ~ SAT SEPT 12

CAROL so very thoughtful, as always, you have a heart of gold ((((hugs)))) I know Cheryl will love it, it's gorgeous!

SANDRA possibly the RSV as well as shingles, we had to have them both, our Dr recommended it. The RSV is to prevent serious illness in older patients, nasty virus.

JANET looks like rain here also today!

HOLLY has had the surgery, an update from someone a separate post, maybe her- not sure, says Drs said it went well, I'm sure she will be in ICU for a bit.

I just got back from getting Dean, we are into the last of everything LOL - he is very happy about it all, although he had a complaint - a lot of girls have been messaging him on Instagram, they are collecting for different teachers for an end of year gift, he said it's annoying and going to cost him a fortune LOL Typical that the girls are doing it, the boys don't worry about end of year gifts.

I need to get organised, I ordered a new floor cleaner ( for tiles and wood) and it's coming tomorrow -  hope it works - Philips electric floor mop, looked good on the ad, we shall see, better than what I have - I hope LOL

Re: ODT SUNDAY 6 SEPT ~ SAT SEPT 12

Carol, you are always so kind and thoughtful to our ladies here. Another beautiful quilt!

Holly, glad to hear things went well.

I have a lot do do today so need to get busy!

Janet, I'll enjoy Lake George through pictures, as I have no plans to make it to New York. I read the tourism season is short there and that's why it's so expensive. Is that because of the cold weather moving in?

Re: ODT SUNDAY 6 SEPT ~ SAT SEPT 12

Today was beautiful…80* and full sunshine!  Depending on one’s interests there are lots for tourists to do all year.  The busiest time is May through mid Nov.
Lake George is 35 miles long and 32 miles wide at its widest part.. Queen of the Lakes…
If it wasn’t for the cold snowy winters, medical care we would be living here… the taxes and politics of NY are also deterrents.  Reasons why we left NY.

 SIGNS OF THE TIMES......
1.  ON THE WALL OF A BRITISH COLUMBIA CLEANING SERVICE:  ABLE TO DO THE WORST POSSIBLE JOB.
2.  IN EACH ROOM IN A LONDON HOTEL:  IF YOU WISH FOR BREAKFAST, LIFT THE TELEPHONE AND ASK FOR ROOM SERVICE. THIS WILL BE ENOUGH TO BRING YOUR FOOD UP.
3.  IN A MEMPHIS BARBER SHOP:  HAIR CUT WHILE YOU WAIT.
4.  IN A BEDFORD NH RESTAURANT:  FREE DINNER ON YOUR BIRTHDAY.  IF TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY, SHOW US A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE AS PROOF AND YOU WILL GET YOUR ENTREE FREE.  ONCE A YEAR ONLY.
5.  IN A NEW YORK JEWELRY STORE: GENUINE FAUX PEARLS.

ITS ANOTHER GORGEOUS DAY.  LOVING IT.  WILL ENJOY IT TIL THE SNOW STARTS BLASTING.

MY SON SHOPS FOR ME TOMORROW SO THAT MEANS CHICKEN WITH RICE SOUP FOR HIM ALONG WITH HIS USUAL ITALIAN SANDWICHES.
WITH DAU COMING MONDAY TO BRING ME TO HEART DR. I PLAN TO MAKE HER LITHUANIAN BUNDIES.
MY COOKING PLANS ARE MADE.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 6 SEPT ~ SAT SEPT 12

Holly, thinking of you and sending love & hugs.

Linda, I was on the way to work and thought the guy was joking on the radio! I stopped at a phone booth and called Billy at home. I haven't watched any of the coverage and don't really want to.

I met Gary for lunch at Chickfila. He filled me in on what's happening with his family.

The kids start back in public school on Monday. They will be riding the bus, which picks them up at 6:30! School ends at 2:30. Hannah is going to school to be an anesthesiologist and that's why they are back in school.

Emily fell beside the bed, hit the nightstand, bruised 3 of her ribs. She is only working half days for now. Gary thinks it was low bp.

Logan starts a new job on the 17th...yea! I am so happy about this!

Emily's Dad has been passing out. He passed out in his truck in their yard and hit a tree. The doctors don't know yet what is causing this. It has happened twice. He's a really nice man.

Wegovy increased dosage has made me very fatigued. I take the second one Sunday. At least there is no nausea or vomiting, which Emily has had on Ozempic. I don't see me ever reaching the highest dosage, lol.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 6 SEPT ~ SAT SEPT 12

HOLLY hope you are starting to feel better, and will soon be out of ICU, take advantage of those pain meds, don't be a hero, you know as a nurse that having pain is normal, but too much doesn't help the healing process at all.

SANDRA I hope the Drs visit goes well, and Matt can get all you need/want. Great you have plenty of books to read, I enjoy reading too. I have a couple I haven't even started that I got for last Christmas, would it be bad to wrap and re-give them to myself LOL

DEVONNE so sorry to hear about the falls, not good at his age, plus E falling too, hope she is OK. Good luck with your next Wegovy!

STRINGS I know we were asleep, got a call from a friend to turn on the TV, it was streaming all day. We did visit the memorial in NY, it was lovely, the new building/museum? looks over it, and there is a place where there is a view to another 2 pieces?? I'll have to look up my pics - and it was lovely, the water flowing makes it peaceful, and we took a long time reading all the names on the wall.

I went to training this morning, we wanted to take a pic of all of us with thumbs down (laughing as well) to send to one of the coaches, it was her sets of exercises. We forgot though.

I booked to do a Paint & Sip next week with them all, they picked a difficult one, it's a cactus (cartoon type ) with a hat, I will take a pic when it's done, they usually take one of the groups with all the paintings. Mine will be hidden as much as possible

Chal is moving most of the house stuff today into storage, I am happy it is finally sold, Chloe and  Taya (Kristen's youngest) met us at the club last night, Chloe told me her grandmother cried and that was what she wanted to happen when she got the quilt, so I am happy about that, the big things like fridge etc will be moved next week, now she needs to find a home for her and the 2 kids.

I offered last week to help, but she said it was all under control - I think they think we're too old now to get too busy with that LOL

I got a new floor cleaner, just put it together, and quickly did a wash/clean of the bathroom and kitchen, looks like it will be good, it has a tiny bottle you add to one container, and it has the cleaner fluid, I just looked up and they are cheap enough to replace, It cleans with the fresh water/cleaner tank and then kind of sucks up the water?? Looks still wet, but not very wet, there was dirty water in the right tank, so I must have done it right No motor sound, and it charges with a USB cord.

See you later!

Re: ODT SUNDAY 6 SEPT ~ SAT SEPT 12

Trish - the floor cleaner sounds good but my cleaner does it on his hands and knees! lol.
DD and her DH are coming back up to LG today.  They live about 2 1/2 hrs away but her DH does it in just over 2, lol. Former race car driver.
My DH is always in a better mood when he’s with our SIL….so I don’t mind.  My DD is a bit of a nut case but 🤷‍♀️.
Tomorrow we leave the Village of Lake George and go to the Sagamore about 20 mins up the road.  Heading home on Thursday.  Vacation is hard work, lol.

2.  INFLATION AND SPENDING CUTS HAVE FORCED THE REWRITING OF A FAIRY TALE.  BECAUSE OF CASH RSTRICTIONS IMPOSED BY THE COUNCIL, THE OPEN AIR THEATRE COMPANY HAS LOST SOME OF ITS MEMBERS AND WILL STAGE "SNOW WHITE AND THE TWO DWARFS."
3.  HE THEN GAVE UP CRICKET FOR A MISSIONARY POSITION IN RHODESIA.

IT WAS IN THE 40S HERE THIS MORNING.  SUNNY AND IN THE 60S RIGHT NOW.  NICE.  MY A/C IS RUNNING.

A SLOW DAY, A NICE DAY.  MY SON SHOPS SO WE VISIT AND HAVE LUNCH TOGETHER.  HIS FAVORITE SOUP IS READY AND HE CAN TAKE SOME HOME WITH HIM, TOO.
I DIDN'T WATCH ANY OF THE 9-11 PROGRAMS.  I DON'T NEED TO RELIVE THAT HORROR IN OUR LIVES.
MY PILLS ARE SORTED AND NOW I HAVE TO DO MY LAPS.

HOLLY......WISHING YOU A GOOD DAY TODAY.  TIME TO HEAL AND ENJOY LIFE AGAIN.

CHERYL.....HOW IS DEAN DOING?  IS HE ANYWHERE NEAR COMING HOME TO YOU SOON?

CAROL.....THANK YOU AGAIN FOR ALL THE HARD WORK YOU DO FOR THOSE OF US WHO NO LONGER CAN MAKE QUILTS.  YOU ARE A RAY OF SUNSHINE IN OUR LIVES.

JANET......KEEP ENJOYING YOUR VACATION, AND YOUR COMPANY THIS WEEK.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY.

DEVONNE.....DON'T YOU HAVE TO GO TO MEDICAL SCHOOL FOR 8 YEARS TO BE AN ANESTHESIOLOGIST?
SORRY TO HEAR EMILY HAD A FALL. WE ALL NEED TO BE MORE CAREFUL.  FALLS COME EASIER IN OUR LIVES AS ONE GETS OLDER.
SO SORRY YOU ARE FEELING SO TIRED WITH THOSE MEDS.  CAN YOU REDUCE THE DOSE?

THAT'S IT LADIES.  STAY SAFE.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY 6 SEPT ~ SAT SEPT 12

We had a terrible storm yesterday and heavy rain. My backyard had a waterfall and a little creek running through it. We lost power from 4:00 to 6:30. Georgia Power is great about getting it restored quickly. In my almost 77 years, it's the worse thunder and lightning I have ever experienced. It's the first "imminent threat warning" I have gotten. It said don't travel unless you need to leave a flood zone area or are told to evacuate. Thank goodness, it is over!

I am almost packed for the cruise except pants. I need to try them on. I'm taking my smaller suitcase. After all these cruises, you learn to pack less.

Sandra, it's 4 years to get a bachelor's degree, 4 years of medical school and 3-4 years of residency. Her other grandparents paid for her college, moved her into a dorm, bought everything she needed. I told the other grandma that she would drop out. In her most southern voice (if you can imagine, lol), she said "oh no, she would never do that." Guess what? She dropped out. Spent lots of money and wasted time going to college to become a pharmacist. Guess what happened? She quit. I have no idea why she would even consider this and who is going to pay for it? My lips are sealed, lol.

I have a big sweet potato in the air fryer. They never get done so thought I would try again. My air fryer only does 30 minutes at a time on 400 degrees. I'lll do another 30 minutes and see what happens.

Sandra, I am on a very little dosage. The fatigue happens when you increase the dosage. Fatigue seems to last 3-4 days, then it goes away. I'm great today, but I take another shot tomorrow. Trying to get everything done before the cruise in case the fatigue comes back.

Janet, you sound so upbeat and happy! I'm glad you are having a good vacation!

Holly and Cheryl/Dean, as always, you are in my thoughts!

Trish, where will Chal live until she finds another house?
