Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

There was the cutest meme on Facebook. A cat named Mrs. Hudson was expressing her views! What an adorable name for a cat!

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

JANET happy travels, and you too DEVONNE when do you leave?

I don't know much about baby lock, not a huge brand here, I still love my Pfaff, after my experience with Bernina I wouldn't get one, mine was a lemon, I ended up tossing it out, wouldn't even give it away to someone, it wasn't a good machine. Here it's mostly Janome, Bernina and Pfaff, with the smaller brands also for sale. I think the LQS has a few Baby Lock, I'll check them out!

SANDRA too funny the last few days!! I do love your laughs, thank you! When do you hear back from the heart Dr? Enjoy your books, I have been doing a lot of reading too lately, nothing exciting, just some re-reads LOL

INDY poor you, I am glad you are getting some relief from pain, it's horrible to be in pain with backs (((hugs))) the clean up will go on for a while, and they are right, it will all look better when it either grows or disintegrates LOL

HOLLY we are almost to your temps, and I don't like it, it's been so warm today and will be again tomorrow, I just had some rice for dinner, I had a Strawberry something from McDonalds, I got the boys a drink, it was a frozen ice cream type one, I should have just thrown it out, but didn't want to waste it LOL I felt so full after that.

THERESA welcome back, I'd love to hear about your trip, where you liked best, having been through most of the places it's good to hear another point of view

I don't think I told you, I got myself a ticket to see My Fair Lady at the Sydney Opera House, it starts in a week or so, and I will go Sept 30 to the matinee. On my own  I am tired of waiting till he has time, I figure it was meant to be, I have been watching seats available, finally decided on a day and low and behold 1 single seat available still front row on the balcony, my preferred spot so I can see the whole stage, it was expensive but the lead is an english actor, Nathaniel Parker, he played Inspector Lynley in the original series over 20 yrs ago, I think he'll make a great lead character. Our very own Reg Livermore is playing Eliza's father, he is amazing, believe he's in his late 80s now, but still performing. edited :Just looked him up, he's 87

I wanted to do some blocks today, but didn't get around to it.
My laundry and bathroom smell  - nice actually - Pete dropped a bottle of aftershave, he cleaned it up, but it spilt onto the floor and also the bath mat. The smell is still there, even after washing LOL The wash load smells nice, I hung it out late today, hoping the smell will fade being out overnight Still smells on the tiles, I guess it is in the grout. it will fade in time.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

A TRUISM FOLLOWED BY A SMILE OR TWO........
1.  SEVEN DAYS WITHOUT LAUGHTER MAKES ONE WEAK.
2.  THIS BEING EASTER SUNDAY WE WILL ASK MRS. WHITE TO COME FORWARD AND LAY AN EGG ON THE ALTAR.
3.  SIR FRANCIS DRAKE CIRCUMCISED THE WORLD WITH A 100-FOOT CLIPPER.

ANOTHER NICE DAY AND HOPEFULLY TOMORROW WILL BRING THAT RAIN THEY PROMISE US.

ITS WEDNESDAY ONCE AGAIN.  THIS NITE I PLAN TO GET TO BINGO.  I SLEPT PRETTY GOOD LAST NITE GETTING IN 7 HRS OF SLEEP IN 3 ROUNDS.
I MADE THE PORK CHOP AND VEGS FOR SUPPER LAST NITE.  I ONLY EAT HALF A CHOP AT A MEAL SO I HAVE ENUF FOR ANOTHER MEAL PLUS EXTRA VEGS.  I MAY MAKE A COUPLE BOILED EGGS FOR LUNCH AND HAVE A SERVING OF TATERS AND CARROTS WITH THEM.  ITS A THOUGHT ON HOW TO USE UP THE EXTRA.

JANET......GOOD LUCK WITH THE NEW MACHINE.  HAVE YOU USED IT YET OR AT LEAST READ THE INSTRUCTIONS?

DEVONNE.......SORRY TO HEAR GARY IS HUNTING ANOTHER JOB.  MAYBE HE SHOULD WAIT TO SEE IF HIS JOB IS ABOLISHED AND MAYBE HE CAN GET A GOOD PAYOUT IF HE WAITS TIL THE END.

TRISH......I SEE MY HEART DR ON THE 14TH FOR MY HEART MONITOR RESULTS AND HIS DECISION.
HOW NICE FOR YOU GOING TO SEE THAT SHOW.  I AM SURE YOU WILL ENJOY IT, ESPECIALLY WITH ACTORS YOU ALREADY LOVE.

DO ANY OF YOU USE A PACE MAKER?  AND IF YOU DO, IS IT TRUE YOU HAVE TO TAKE A BLOOD THINNER IF ONE HAS ONE?  I AM MORE AFRAID OF A BLOOD THINNER THAN I AM THE PACE MAKER.  I AM ALWAYS GRATING A THUMB OR CUTTING A FINGER AND DON'T WANT TO HAVE BIG PROBLEMS.  CAN YOU FILL ME IN ANYONE?

AS FOR TARIFFS, IT SEEMS TO JUST MEAN HIGHER PRICES, NOT A SHORTAGE OF PAPER PRODUCTS.

NOT MANY CHORES FOR ME TODAY.  WORKING WITHIN MY LIST IS DOABLE AND KEEPS ME UP-TO-DATE IN CLEANING. IF I AM EVER TOO TIRED OR NOT FEELING WELL ON A PARTICULAR DAY, I CAN JUST SKIP THOSE CHORES TIL NEXT WEEK OR MONTH.
LIKE MY SEWING.  I NEVER GOT TO SEW YESTERDAY BUT I KNOW THAT COOLER DAYS ARE COMING SO NOT A GREAT DISASTER.
THEN THERE'S YESTERDAY'S DISHES.  DID NOT DO THEM LAST NITE SO WILL WASH THEM TODAY.

TIME TO HIT THE SHOWER.  MY DAILY LAPS ARE CALLING ME.
STAY SAFE.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

Sandra, I have a pacemaker and yes, I have to take a blood thinner. I think the one I am on (Eliquis) works a little differently than the some and doesn't cause as many problems.  I notice a little more bruising and anytime I bleed it lasts a little longer, but not too bad.   My biggest problem was with nosebleeds, lasting as long as an hour.  I went to an ENT for that and he cauterized some vessels in my nose and that eliminated nose bleeds.

One of today's funnies reminded me of something from my teaching days.  In a geometry class that was mostly girls, we were discussing how some geometric figures can be inside a circle.  In answer to a question, a shy boy used the word circumcised instead of circumscribed.  Boy, did his face turn red!  I simply said the correct word and kept going in hopes that the rest of the class wouldn't laugh at him.

Judy, I have a friend who goes to a chiropractor for back problems and says it really helps her.  I tried it a few times with no help, but getting some physical therapy did help.  So, I suggest you try the chiro but consider PT if it doesn't help.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

I invited Gary to go with me to meet Greg for lunch and he said no (of course, lol). Last time I will ask if he wants to go. I met Greg at McAllisters for lunch and then we both shopped at Aldi's. I found some chocolate protein pudding that has 15g of protein. I only bought one to try it. I had planned on going to Home Goods, but I skipped it. I have to remind myself I'm getting rid of stuff, not bringing in more stuff. I still enjoy looking, lol.

Trish, we leave September 18 and board the ship on the 19th. I wish we could leave the morning of the 18th, but Greg doesn't want Carter to miss a day of school. We won't be leaving until around 4 or 5 pm. The good thing is I'm being picked up at my house and can leave my vehicle in the garage.

There is a problem with getting my next Wegovy shots. My doctor called it in last Thursday, but they are waiting on a new prescription with the diagnostic code on it. Without that, the prescription is $1,400!  Waiting on a call from the dr's office.

Sandra, Greg doesn't want to wait because he's not really sure it's going to happen. It's not just the Atlanta office might eventually close, it's lack of salary increase. Hes content staying until he finds something. My best friend has a pacemaker and takes no blood thinner. She's had no prior blood clots and doesn't have Afib. I guess it depends on your health history.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

Sandra, no pacer but I’ve had 2 ablations and also am on Eliquis. I’ve had no issues, and on Eliquis you don’t have to watch your diet or get constant blood work.

Mary Lou, Steph told the story of a jr high boy giving a report and instead of saying organism he kept saying orgasm. She said the teacher just corrected him and had him keep going.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

Very hot and HUMID.  Like Holly, humidity is higher than the temperature.  We went to town two days in a row.  Yesterday to W-M and Beef Mart and today to exchange a vest I bought for another size, Howard picked up a copy of his sleep study from the doctor's office, then we had breakfast out at Brothers (restaurant).
On the way to town, there's a small horse boarding business that we pass and for the last few weeks, they have had a  longhorn bull there, too.  We always look for him because he's so  magnificent. There's a small herd of longhorns at the farm right next door, also, but we can't figure out why this one is where it is?  I'll keep you posted!

Thanks QB for the  good wishes.  Because of you talking about your love of it,  I got some sirloin steak at Beef Mart and H. grilled it, so we ate at home last night.  Never on sale there but we'll get two meals out of it, which makes it more affordable.  It was yummy.  He's no chef, but does a good job grilling.

Mary Lou,  I'm getting physical therapy in addition to each  adjustment with every visit--part of her plan for me.  I'm so new to it all, but maybe that's why I already feel better.

QB, I take the blood thinner Xarelto and have had no issues with it.  I do bruise  a little bit more easily and a cut bleeds more, but quits quickly.  Had to start with it after two episodes of A-fib were revealed by my implanted heart monitor after my stroke.  I suppose I'll always have to take it and it's quite expensive even after insurance pays, but that depends, too, on what kind of insurance a person has.  My biggest complaint?  It's a tiny reddish brown pill that's hard to see and it easily gets away from me no matter how careful I am and that makes me crazy!  Now I try to take it first before that happens!

Trish, ML looked everything over and also gave me a pep talk about it not looking THAT bad (compared to many others)  and to look at Tom's remaining trees that can't fall on our house!

Hope you all have a good evening and sweet dreams.
Indy

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

Devonne, I’d be totally annoyed if my children acted like that.

Janet, I don’t know how your DH does it. I started in afib at 9:30 this morning. It finally broke at 6:30, as we were starting to talk about going to the ER.

Some dates are just so full of meaning. Today is one of those. It’s the 5th anniversary of my nephew David’s suicide. It’s so sad, such a waste, and left little Ben without a father.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

I need to correct what I said earlier. I take Eliquis because I have a-fib, not because I have a pacemaker. Sorry I didn’t clarify that when I first posted. After my last ablation, I don’t have a-fib very often or for very long at a time but my cardiologist wants me to continue the Eliquis in case it gets worse.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

Holly…he manages very well, has for about 25+ years.  Nothing worked as we’ve talked about before.  It has never affected his life style.  He is very active, a runner and weight lifter.   No issues with blood thinner, coumadin(warfarin).  Back in the day that’s all there was and he’s stayed with it.  He eats whatever he wants and gets BW every 6 weeks or so and makes his own adjustments.
I haven’t even taken the new machine out of the box.  We leave for vacation on Saturday.  I’ll unbox it when we get back.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

KIDS WRITE THE DARNDEST THINGS......
1.  IN 328 B.C. ROME WAS INVADED BY THE GALS.
2.  ROMAN WOMEN BUILT FIRES IN THEIR BRASSIERES.
3.  ROME WAS INVADED BY THE BALLBEARINGS.
4.  AT THE BATTLE OF HASTINGS THE ANGELS AND THE SAXONS WERE DEFEATED BY THE MORMONS.
5.  JOAN OF ARC WAS BURNT TO A STEAK.

ITS RAINING.  HOORAY, I'M LOVING EVERY DROP.

LINDA......GLAD TO HEAR YOUR SIS IS DOING WELL.  THE 2 MONTHS WILL PASS BY IN A FLASH.

THANK YOU LADIES FOR YOUR INFO ABOUT PACEMAKERS AND BLOOD THINNERS.  IT HELPED.  NOW I CAN GO INTO THE MEETING KNOWING TO ASK SOME HELPFUL QUESTIONS.
I WON $8 AT BINGO LAST NITE SO IT WAS A VERY GOOD NITE.
I LOVE SEEING THE RAIN TODAY.  I HAVE TRASH TO TAKE OUT TODAY BUT I WILL HAVE TO WORK IT OUT WHEN THE RAIN IS STOPPED OR NOT RAINING HEAVILY.  USUALLY I TAKE IT OUT AT NOON FOR THE GALS.  THEY KNOW THE ROUTINE.
I PLAN TO MAKE STEAK PIZZIOLA TODAY.  I HAVE SOME CHEAPER STEAK, LONDON BROIL, THAT I USE FOR THIS, NOT MY TENDER N. Y. SIRLOIN.  IT SIMMERS IN SAUCE FOR 2 HRS OR MORE SO IT ENDS UP VERY TENDER AND TASTY.
ITS CRAFT MORNING SO I WILL BRING MY SAMPLE APRON AND SEW THE HEMMING AROUND THE OUTER EDGES OF IT.  ITS A GOOD HAND PROJECT.
NOT MUCH DIFFERENT HERE LADIES.  SAME OLD, SAME OLD.  STAY SAFE AND ENJOY YOUR DAY.  HUGS, QB S
