Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

ALREADY September, my gosh, where has the time gone!!!

Sorry you may be dealing with TP issues, it seems to be a universal thing now, crisis happens and the TP is the first to go LOL - not really funny, but it does seems like it happens world wide!

SANDRA I can't remember if you watch Shakespeare & Hathaway, their new season started, I need to catch up. I still need to catch up with Death In Paradise, I don't like new people though

In honour of Tim Curry I am going to re-watch Clue  =19.5pxthis week - I found it on one of our channels. It's a movie of the =19.5pxboard game, some great characters. It is a bit of fun!

It's been a lovely day here, I did lots of cutting, you just knew I would have to start the new quilt - didn't you , I am just so bored with the others, this will be a quick finish. Already done some of the blocks, it's a design of Julie's, uses a jelly roll and some extra fabric to blend. I'll get a pic when I get more blocks made. I =19.5pxfound a bolt of fabric I had, I think it's from my Jane quilt, I had plenty to be able to use in this quilt as background, so just needed a border and will use some of that for the accent blocks as well. So with the cheap jelly roll and my fabric this will be an inexpensive quilt.

The Mr was playing bowls all day, he is so tired tonight, but he just keeps falling asleep in front of the TV, I keep nagging him to just go to bed, it will be worse next weekend, he keeps signing up for these competitions, and they really exhaust him!

Pete has come down with a cold ( I think) he doesn't complain, just isolates and tries to sleep it off. Hope it's not flu, but he sounds more cold like, I know he is run down and has worked ridiculous hours for months, he just won't say NO to them.

I will need to start new threads during the week, I will wait till you're all tucked up in bed

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

IT'S TRUE......
1.  DON'T WORRY ABOUT GETTING OLDER.  YOU STILL GET TO DO STUPID THINGS, ONLY SLOWER.
2.  I WILL NEVER BE OVER THE HILL.  I'M TOO TTIRED TO CLIMB IT.
3.  I ALWAYS START THE DAY WITH GOOD INTENTIONS, BUT THEN I GET OUT OF BED AND THAT'S WHERE IT ALL GOES WRONG.

ANOTHER NICE DAY SO I WON'T COMPLAIN.

TRISH.......I ADORE SHAKESPEARE AND HATHAWAY.  A FAVORITE.  I HAVE NOT SEEN IT YET.  IS HE TRIMMER? BECAUSE I SAW HIM IN ANOTHER SERIES AND HE HAD LOST A LOT OF WEIGHT.  OR MAYBE THE SERIES WAS BEFORE SHAKESPEARE, I DON'T KNOW.
I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT SERIES CHANGING.  ITS SOMETIMES DIFFICULT TO GET BACK INTO THE STORIES AND APPROVE OF THE CHANGES.  THE EXCEPTION FOR ME WAS GRANTCHESTER.  I JUST ADORE ALPHY, THE LAST VICAR.  ITS A SHAME THAT WAS THE LAST OF THE SERIES BUT I SAVED THE LAST 2 SHOWS TO REWATCH NOW AND THEN.
AS FOR THE NEW DEATH IN PARADISE, I WONDER WHAT QUIRKS DON GILET IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE.  I RECORDED THE 2ND PART OF THE FIRST SHOW AND WILL WATCH THEM BOTH TOGETHER TONITE.
YOUR HUBBY SEEMS TO WANT TO STAY ACTIVE AS LONG AS HE CAN.  MAYBE HE FEELS YOUNGER.  I HOPE HE DOESN'T OVERDO IT.

MY SON SHOPPED AND GOT ALL I WANTED THIS WEEK, INCLUDING THE 2 1/2 LBS OF NEW YORK SIRLOIN.  THE BEEF RECALL WAS IN STATES FAR REMOVED FROM MAINE.
AS FOR A TOIDY PAPER SHORTAGE, RIGHT NOW I HAVE ENUF STORED FOR ABOUT 9 MONTHS.  THAT SHOULD TAKE ME THRU THE SETTLING OF ANY SHORTAGES.

ITS A LAZY DAY FOR ME BUT I HAVE SO MANY SPICES/SEASONINGS THAT I NEED TO REVAMP MY STORAGE AREA.  I HAVE A PLAN SO WILL TRY IT OUT TODAY SINCE I HAVE NO CHORES OTHERWISE.  I LIKE TO KEEP THEM IN ALPHA ORDER BUT DUE TO JARS BEING DIFFERENT SIZES, THAT DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK.  I WILL HAVE TO KEEP THE BIG JARS IN ORDER ON ANOTHER SHELF I THINK.

ANOTHER DAY OF JUST ENJOYING WHATEVER I WANT TO DO.  I HAVE LEFTOVER TATER TOT SAUSAGE CASSY, AND SOME BUNDIES FOR MY MEALS.  I MAY MAKE SOME PIZZA TONITE BUT IT CAN WAIT ANOTHER DAY IF NECESSARY.

STAY SAFE EVERYONE.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

=26pxTemperature 77. Humidity 76%. Sigh, I’ll never get the AC off. Weather this week is predicted to be rainy and stormy.

There’s an online movement to make September 25 Dolly Parton Day. 9/25. I love it.

Lunch today is Olive Garden. Soup, salad and breadsticks for me!

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

My grandson moved into his dorm the other day. Classes start tomorrow. He sent pics of his room…neat as a pin…but for how long?
We are leaving for vacation on Sat for 2 weeks.  We used to make the trip in one day (12 hrs about) but we plan to stop over a little bit more than half way.  Doesn’t matter to me, I sleep almost the entire way.
My DD and SIL will meet us there but are only staying 2 days.
I just ordered pants, capris and socks from Amazon.  Should be here Tuesday 🤞.
Nothing like waiting for the last minute.  Most of my pants are too big and a bit worn.

Janet, where are you going for vacation? Did your gs go far away for school?

We’re supposed to be in the 90’s and rain all week. My  AC will be on forever.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

It's going to be in the 90's here for the next 10 days. Only 88 today, but real feel is 97.

The good, bad and ugly has started. The good is my bp is lower, 122/76. The bad hasn't arrived yet. The ugly is sagging loose skin on my arms. Guess I need to do what Dolly did and wear long sleeves all the time, lol. I did order a few 3/4 sleeve blouses from Amazon for the cruise.

Is it best to lose a lot of weight and have ugly loose skin or stay overweight and no loose skin? I chose get healthy and not worry about the loose skin. No one is going to see it but me. I am watching a lady who decided to have plastic surgery to remove the loose skin after she lost 150 lbs. She's 63 and I'm nearing 77. I wouldn't do the surgery at my age.

I finished going thru my spices, now I need to clean appliances and clean out the fridge. Tomorrow's chores!

Linda, congratulations to your GS turning 21 and on their move. Are they further away from you?

Janet, are you going back to Lake George? We normally didn't stay gone for two weeks at a time. There was one time where we booked back to back cruises. We got off one ship, walked down to the next one and boarded for another week. That was a lot of fun. You seem to like Babylock. Enjoy your new machine!

Sandra, those bundies sure do look good! I had a protein shake for lunch and a high protein bagel. Chicken tenderloins and Knorr rice/pasta already fixed for dinner. Sipping on water all day to try and meet 80 oz. a day.

Holly, I think they should make January 19th, her birthday, Dolly Parton Day, and not the day of her death, August 25.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

Holly- we’re going to Lake George….again!  We have gone every year but one for the last 30+years.  We used to live about 3 hrs away from LG.  The first week we will be in the Village of Lake and the second week at The Sagamore…google it. The resort is fantastic.
GS will be about 1+ hours  from home.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

Devonne, not the day of her death. 9/25 for 9 to 5, her movie.
I see several people on Instagram who have had loose skin removal surgery. Sometimes 20+ pounds of skin removed!

Janet, Heather and family love Lake George, I’ll have to ask where they stay. One year they even went up for an Ice Festival. LOL, that was the year they had a free day and Heather introduced Ed to the outlet stores. He’d never been to one! He bought bags of clothes, and he hates to shop. When they go in the summer, they trailer their boat up. You have to get a special inspection before they let you put your boat in the water, they don’t want to contaminate the lake.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

Evening y'all!

We got back from the cruise on the 16th.  We hit the ground running, so to speak.  The cruise and land "cruise " parts were excellent.  Would do it again in a heartbeat.  The flights left a lot to be desired.  The flight out we were not sure would happen because of a strike.  We did fly the original flight to Vancouver.  The flight home was cancelled 10 minutes before boarding!   They booked us on 2 different airlines and Todd and I were in 2 different sections on both flights, layover at O'Hare.  We landed in Atlanta about 2 hours later than the original flight would have landed.  It was stressful, overnight flight, slept/dozed very little.  But we made it safe and sound!  My luggage ended up in Seattle, hubby's luggage went to Los Angeles!  We did a claim with the original airline and they found the luggage, and had it delivered to our house!

I have also been dealing with the oil company.  Finally got a check!!!!  Have some paperwork I had to get 2 witnesses to watch me sign and they had to sign it too!  I got that tonight and will go to the PO tomorrow.  Has to be snail mail!  So we are making progress!!!!

I'm getting a bill from the last place mom was in rehab.  Not sure why I am getting the bill now, but I am contesting it.  They have had since May of 2025 when she left them, to send a bill.  There's no money left in her account, I dispersed the money, plus we put an ad in the paper about her death for debts and creditors, they did not respond.  It then becomes a them problem.

I will tell you more about the cruise later.  Long day.

We are watching the movie 9 to 5 also!

Tim Curry was also in the Carol Burnette version of Annie. Also the movie Red October.

Later my Friends!

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

SLIPS THAT PASS IN THE TYPE.....
1.  FOR SALE:  8,500 POUND POWER WENCH AND QUEEN-SIZE WATER BED.
2.  ALTHOUGH A CONVENTIONAL CAST-IRON SINK IS AVAILABLE FOR AROUND $200, YOU WILL PAY MORE FOR LARGER SIZES, MULTIPLE BOWELS, VIBRANT COLORS, OR SPECIAL MATERIALS.
3.  GEORDIE JEFFERSON CELEBRATED HIS BIRTHDAY LAST WEEK WITH A PARTY OF EIGHT LITTLE FIENDS.

ANOTHER LOVELY DAY HERE.  TOO LOVELY.  HAD A FOREST FIRE IN THE NORTHWOODS BUT ITS MOSTLY NOW CONTAINED.  IT WAS CAUGHT EARLY, SO NOT VERY MUCH LAND DESTROYED OR ANY BUILDINGS, THANK GOODNESS.   WE NEED SOME RAIN.

DEVONNE.......AT OUR AGE I DON'T THINK SURGERY TO REMOVE THE EXCESS FAT IS A PRIORITY.  WHO ARE WE TRYING TO IMPRESS IN OUR BIKINIS?  THE LEAST SURGERY THE BETTER.

THERESA.....HOORAY, YOUR PATIENCE FINALLY PAID OFF WITH AN OIL CO. CHECK AT LONG LAST.  YOU WILL SOON BE BACK TO YOUR NORMAL LIFE AGAIN.
NICE TO HEAR YOU REALLY ENJOYED YOUR TRIP.  SORRY FOR THE HEADACHES GETTING HOME BUT YOU ARE SAFE AND SOUND NOW.

SHOULD I BE LATE TOMORROW, REMEMBER ITS JUDY AND HOWARD'S ANNIVERSARY TTOMORROW, ON SEPT 1ST.

YIKES, ITS NEARLY SEPT.  WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?  SOON I WILL BE SPORTING BOOTS AND MY WARM AND HEAVY, HOODED PARKA TO TAKE OUT THE TRASH.
TODAY IS FLOOR WASHING DAY.  HAPPILY I ONLY HAVE 2 SMALL FLOORS SO ITS NOT A TERRIBLE TASK.  I ALSO WANT TO MAKE THAT PIZZA TODAY.  I NEED SOMETHING FOR SUPPER TONITE.

MY LETTER T KEEPS DOUBLING AND TRIPLING WHEN I USE IT.  I KNOW NOT WHY.  I HAVE TO KEEP CHECKING MY TYPE AND DELETING 1 OR 2.  OH WELL, IT COULD BE WORSE.  IF YOU SEE A WORD I MISS WITH EXTRA Ts I KNOW YOU WILL OVERLOOK IT.

A FEW WEEKLY CHORES ALSO ON MY LIST TODAY.  YESTERDAY I HAD NOTHING TO DO SO I RE-ORGANIZED MY SPICES WHICH I KEEP IN ALPHA ORDER.  I AM USING A TRAY ON AN UPPER SHELF FOR THE TALL JARS WHICH MAKES IT SIMPLER TO PULL DOWN AND CHECK TO SEE WHAT I NEED.  I LIKE EASIER IN MY LIFE.

THAT'S IT I GUESS.  I WILL DO MY LAPS, READ, WATCH TV, COOK, MAYBE DO MY EXERCISES AND THEN THERE'S THE JIGSAW PUZZLE THAT IS WAITING FOR ME.
STAY SAFE.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY 30 AUGUST ~ SAT 5 SEPTEMBER

Holly, I understand that reasoning, but I would prefer her date of birth, January 19th. Do you think it will happen? She really deserves this recognition.

I said in my last post there was no "bad" yet, but it happened last night and it was my fault. I was still hungry and I shouldn't have taken the entire bag of Sun chips to bed. I overate and it cramped my stomach, which led to a restless night. I won't do that again!

Laundry is done, appliances and kitchen cabinets cleaned yesterday...outside only. I need to clean out fridge again, but as long as I get it done by Thursday when the trash goes to the curb.

Theresa, what an awful flight ordeal! I don't think you are responsible for any more bills since it was posted as required. I'm glad all of this is almost over for you.

I keep telling Greg "this is my last cruise" and he laughs. I think I really mean it this time. We are driving, spending the night in Orlando & the next morning driving to Port Canaveral. He says I'm not too old to travel, but he doesn't have back and knee issues.
