Good morning to you all!!

I have  been sewing for 3 straight days - all day(and some evenings LOL )  and going as fast as possible, got the quilt finished and delivered - YAHOO!!! I told Chal, Never Again, LOL she was very grateful - I could have let her have it part finished, but she would have had to meet with her in-laws again  to return it, the gift is for her MIL, she is uncomfortable around her, and would rather not see her much at all, so I was glad to have it finished completely.

I am so, so tired, I have had high blood pressure, possibly from stress, but I have an appt tomorrow, Dr organised it on Friday, so maybe I will feel better then. Hope so, 

It has been a long journey with this quilt, the machine did not like all that plastic/rubber stuff on the shirts, but it looks OK, not good, but Chal was happy with it. I can't believe it's done, I could have waited till Wed to deliver, I just wanted her to have it ASAP..
I have also offered to meet her at the house she and Mike had and is for sale -  to take the last of Mike's things to his family, she would rather no contact, but if we can say I was "helping" and had room in my car she can get away with me taking them to his parents and sister. I'm letting her think on it for a while, it's no problem for me to take them, I can keep civil for a short visit. 

I will try to catch up with you all soon, I need to get to bed soon, my head is aching and my eyes are tired.

INDY I did see about all the damage, so terrible, my prayers are with you all (((hugs)))

Amazon delivered a package here today at 7:30 AM!! And guess what?  It was the wrong item…not even close. 🤪

Stll no electric co. power, here.  ML & Bill's came on late this morning.  Scores of additional contractors have been called in filling a huge mall parking lot with trailers, food trucks, shower facilities?, and whatever else helps them while they're here.  So, we know they are working around the clock.  There are just so many, many outages. 
We're waiting for someone to come who ML's friend, Claudia knows that might be able to help Howard with the chain sawing and clean up.  This afternoon, he said but so far, he's not shown up.  Howard is really too exhausted to work, today, so if he doesn't come in time to do anything, that might be a good thing.  Also, our friend, Albert, offered to help.  He is always there for us.  With his asthma, Howard is not as strong and able as he used to be and not as young!  And, I can't take a chance on falling out there plus I really can't keep up in here, let alone try to do that kind of work.  
Sorry...this situation takes over your life and you can't do much else but  think, talk, or stew about it.

Trish, that labor of love (for the girls not the MIL)  can be overwhelming but you just have to keep on.  I'm so glad it's finished and on it's way and that  you can tend to yourself now and catch up in any way you need to.  

Devonne, so sorry that Molly is worrying you so much.  Time flies and before you know it, they're elderly.   Your chair is gorgeous.  A real accent piece.  That is a subdued green and a nice small print.  I hear green is the new neutral.  I always get a kick out of that description... "such and such is the new neutral".  It can actually be any color they choose to describe that way... What color is the sample you 'didn't' get?  

We finally got out of here, Friday a.m. to an early lunch at Culver's.  I got a burger which was just what I craved, then to the grocery store then later in the afternoon to the potluck that was first, canceled then reinstated.  I took deviled eggs.  Saturday,  to Kohl's to use my expiring $10 Kohl's Cash  and two other $5 coupons. With those,  I only had to pay $1.49 for my 'unmentionables' purchase.  We also got supper to bring home from Chic-Fil-A.  I'm a bit tired of that, but it's easy and Howard never seems to get tired of it.  Anyway, no cooking!! 

QB, sounds like your feasting one way or another these days.  Good for you.  The fresh veggies are so good.  Glad that your kids loved the puff pastry bundies.  They'll be so much more fun and easier to make.  Shortcuts are such a help.  

Well, better close this.  I did try to get off my what seems like my never-ending subject for a bit.  
We'll have the four pcs. of chicken sent home with us from the potluck and microwaved baked potatoes for supper.  I was fortunate to not have lost too much food like so many others, since I had put off buying groceries beforehand.

ITS A SANDWICH AND SALAD POTLUCK.  I CHOSE TO BRING THE POTATO SALAD.  FOR THAT POTLUCK ONE GAL, A FORMER PROFESSIONAL COOK IS MAKING MEATBALLS IN SAUCE FOR SUBS.  FOR OCTOBER ITS A BAKED BEAN SUPPER.  I WILL BE BRINGING THE B&M BAKED BEANS.  B&M ARE A LOCAL COMPANY, IN PORTLAND, AND MAKE THE BEST BAKED BEANS AROUND IN MY HUMBLE OPINION. THE FORMER COOK IS BRINGING AMERICAN CHOP SUEY, OR IN SOME AREAS ITS KNOWN AS GOULASH.  BOTH DINNERS WILL HAVE ONLY 2 MAINS AND THEN SIDES AND DESSERT.  SINCE ONLY ABOUT 10 OR 11 SHOW UP FOR THESE OUTINGS, THAT WILL BE PLENTY AND STILL WE CAN TAKE A BIT HOME.

Gracie is still not herself. I gave her pumpkin puree and it should start working by late evening. If she isn't better in the morning, I will call the vet. She is eating and drinking, just lethargic. She came over to my recliner and just sat there. I petted her and brushed her fur. She went to the other side of the foot rest and just sat there. She's never done this before. I think it may be joint pain, but I'm no vet.

Judy, how nice of the chiropractor to offer his help and for free. I hope your power comes back on this week.

Trish, I hope your new BP meds doesn't cause the swelling and reduces your bp. I am on Amlodipine 10 mg.

Today we're under a heat advisory..going to be 96 but feels like 109. Warnings have been issued of heat strokes and dehydration possible and to stay in the a/c. I think it ends at 8 pm...91 tomorrow. I had errands, but I will postpone them.

Mary Lou, Happy Birthday!!

I need to go back and do some reading of the previous posts.  We have had so much travel to Cleveland and getting things ready for Dean to be in hospital for 30 days that I have not had a chance to read.
Now that he has been admitted, I will  have time.  Aaron and I took him to Cleveland Clinic on Sunday morning.  They started his round of chemo that afternoon and he had  his second one today.  He will have one fore round and then a day off.  Will get his bone marrow transplant on Friday.  It goes into his body like a blood transfusion.  I had no idea how they would do that, but after all the prep work and tests, this is a simple procedure.  As the transplant doc said, it is an unremarkable ending to a long process.  He had lots of tests, including dexterity, memory, heart, lung.........and had a central pick line inserted into his chest.

It is weird being home alone without him.  This will be the longest we have been apart for 50 years.  Hopefully, he will be cancer free when he comes home.

Trish, that T shirt quilt is really nice.  Someone will love it.

Judy, so sorry for all the damage and destruction in your area. I saw all of the flooding in Indiana and wondered if it was close to you.

Devonne, sending positive thoughts for little Gracie.  Hope she is OK.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARYLOU hope you enjoyed the steaks, is it the same as our Outback Steakhouse I wonder? Good of you to do the driving, I wanted to drive myself, but it's not really safe I know, I did feel like I could.

CHERYL you will miss having him around, the treatment is not fun, but the end result worth it all. Hope he doesn't have too many side issues with the extra chemo, and you're right, it's very simple in the end, just an infusion, seems  so easy doesn't it?

SANDRA and INDY I would do a simple zip, this is a winter fleece jacket, with one of those huge zippers, not touching it. I wanted him to just get a new jacket today, but he's paid ($38 ) for the repair, almost cheaper to buy a new one LOL  I hated zips when making my own clothes, I covered buttons once rather than do one LOL

DEVONNE poor Gracie, she may just be tired, if she is eating and drinking OK, she might just be slowing right down, I hope the effects are not bad, this is an added 5mg of Amlopidene to my normal med, I felt a little nauseous this morning, but I did go to training, I was very careful, and did things slowly and carefully, and skipped the cardio LOL I felt better for going. I think a lot has been the quilt, but I did notice the the BP was a little higher recently, not as high as the weekend though

The Mr is packing, he gets himself in a tizzy, they want to leave at 4am, ridiculous, but they say they need to get there before 2pm to do a trial session, my packing for camp will take about 10 mins LOL except for the sewing stuff, but it's mostly organised already. I did all that cutting, and I have a tiny bit left from Mike's quilt so will add that as they are a plain print. 

I need to do the shopping for camp as well, Julie will do all the tea, coffee, milk and bring salad bowls, tea towels and  I will pick up the salads and bread rolls as well as some dressing and also make the Christmas Crack, they all want some, it will go quickly.
I may get time to make some small orange/almond cakes, I have a great recipe, but it depends on timing.

We do our own catering now, one night we get BBQ chickens -  they will cut them up -  and hot chips to have with the salads and rolls, then the other we order pizzas, it is so economical that way, people can also bring their own food if they want, and we all bring snacks to share, as well as our own breakfast and lunch. Mostly we have leftover pizza for lunch anyway. Always, always too much food LOL no one goes hungry! Our chicken/salad night usually costs about  maximum $7 each for dinner, and there is always heaps.  Everyone is shocked by how little we ask for. 
We have dinner each night all together, and play games after, usually a fat 1/4 game, and someone brings some kind of trivia, last year it was names of chocolate bars, lots of laughter happens.

We had a very unexpected storm last night, wasn't predicted at all. It came thru quick, lightning and thunder, and left just as fast. 

I need to run over Gary's place really quick, but I'll tell you about Gracie later.

Judy, I’m so glad your power is back up. I get what you say about men, I feel like I’m constantly reminding Ralph that he ain’t 21 anymore. 

Cheryl, it will be strange to be alone, but like Judy said, the phone is great. 

Got my Walmart order delivered with several things missing. I suspect the driver missed a whole bag. Tried to do the refund online, it said I had to call. Call, got an AI, went thru the whole list with it, then it said it couldn’t do a replacement or refund, would I like to talk to a person? Duh, yeah. Got a very nice person who handled the whole thing, had to go thru the whole list of missing items again. It was $35 worth of stuff, all refrigerated or frozen. So I got the refund and now have to reorder. But I’ve been ordering weekly for about 7 months now, and this was the first screwup. Side note, the exact same scenario happened to Heather a few months ago. A reminder that humans do make mistakes.
