Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 AUGUST ~ SAT 15 AUGUST

Sandra, I’m told that in parts of the country they dip their pizza into ranch dressing!

This problem I have in doctors office is they tell me I have no copay, even tho my card for my secondary says there is a copay, then they bill me. I talked to one office manager, and he said to be politely insistent, which is what I do now.

Janet, that’s ridiculous that a shop doesn’t tell you ahead of time that they don’t take credit cards. We have a few restaurants around here that don’t take credit cards, so I don’t go to them. And some have added a 3% charge if you use a card, which I can live with. I always tip in cash, but use a card to get rewards.

LOL, Steph just asked on our group chat where is a good place to get outdoor furniture. I told her she’s probably too late in the season, the stores are all Halloween and Christmas now.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 AUGUST ~ SAT 15 AUGUST

Not sure what I wrote last so bear with me if I repeat.  We still have no electric co. power.  Our 4 mo. old whole house generator quit cold Wed. morning.  H. arranged for a repairman and was promised that day.  He didn't come  then, but did Thurs. a bit before noon.  The generator was toast, unfixable but this  good co. delivered  another  out here from IL. that afternoon and we had  power  from it by early evening and have ever since. Being so new, the first one was covered by the warranty, etc. so it was no charge to us.    But, we are leery that this one won't last,  with it running constantly, but that's what you pay the big bucks for it to do.
We had to go away yesterday and it's sobering to see the large trees that are down and that have taken the electric lines with them along Hwy. 6 which we live on.  For miles around this has been declared a disaster area.  Many outside electric contractors have been brought in.  In fact, the two men that came here were both from Missouri.
A house exploded (gas leak) in the town we used to live in and a woman and a dog were in it.  Her husband came home from a Dr. appt. as what was left was burning up.  Wife and dog gone.
I'm trying to look for the good because there is much to be thankful for.  On our way home yesterday, we saw a fox loping along the side  of the road.  And a bunny and a little squirrel came up on our front porch. That's unusual and has nothing to do with all this other, but it was sweet to see for us animal lovers.

Blessing to you all.  I'm glad to have you to talk this out with.

Judy- can I assume your generator runs on propane?  If it does what size tank do you have….and how long can you run it before it runs out?  OR do you have natural gas torun it on?   We have a generator that’s runs on propane.  The morons only put in a 500 gal tank.  Getting it refilled during an outage is practically impossible so we never run it 24/7 during an outage.
