Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 26 ~ SAT AUGUST 1

Linda, I hope you got to see your sister today.

Theresa, our Alaska cruise was my favorite trip, even better than going to Hawaii. I'll give you some details later.

I "almost" reached my next weight goal today....missed it by .9 lb.

Marylou, it's good to stay busy. Sorry your trip was so long. I have not heard of that play.

Cheryl, I didn't know you have Stage 3 kidney disease. DH did too. I've never given myself a shot before, so it's going to be quite an experience, hope not too unpleasant. I read giving it in your upper thigh is the least painful.

I have been so lazy today, Today is an Amazon shopping day and watching TV. I'll keep the TV off tomorrow so I can get some chores done.

I sprayed the poison ivy vine last night and I thought surely it would be totally brown today. It is still very green. I read it could take 1 to 2 weeks to completely kill the plant, as the chemical works down to the root.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 26 ~ SAT AUGUST 1

Good Saturday to all.  I'm slow in getting here.  ML and I opted to not go to the Art Fair, today.  It's been raining steadily all day.  We can go tomorrow if we wish when the weather is supposed  to be clear.  I know this was the right choice as I received a call from my cousin's wife in SC who has been going thru a lot since April.  She had some hopeful news to share with me so I'm glad I was home to take the call.

Mary Lou sorry for the delayed trip.  Hope you have a fun time to make up for that.

Yes QB, that was my recipe contribution.  I'm glad you like it.   I haven't made it for a long time but shall do so soon.

We had a good time with our small group, yesterday.  I got a "dog" fix with the resident canine, a 12 yrs old shih zhu.  He even slept on my lap for a bit.  There was also a  cat who walked around, looked each of us over and sauntered out, not to be seen again.  Guess none of us passed his criteria.    He was a  large tortoiseshell male with startling green eyes.

Supper tonight is grilled kielbasa and l/o potato salad and cantaloupe.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 26 ~ SAT AUGUST 1

Oh, Judy, you described that cat perfectly!  They are so superior to us mortal beings.    Dogs on the other hand, love us most of the time.
I make my potato salad as you do with lots of boiled eggs in the mix.

Theresa, have a wonderful trip to Alaska.  I have never been, but my brother in law and his family went.  Bill did not like it because he got too sick, but the rest of the family loved it.  They had taken several other types of cruises and this was my niece's favorite.

It was another pretty day here.  It is supposed to storm overnight and then have down pours tomorrow.  I am not looking forward to that!!  I am not in favor of rain, but my granddaughter, Amelia, and her papa Dean love it.  I cannot believe that we are into August already!  The kids will go back to school in a few weeks.  Abby is so excited to go to Cincinnati University and has all of her dorm room things ready.

Devonne, I did receive that stage 3 kidney disease a couple of years ago due to my not seeking treatment for my very high blood pressure for too long.  I also heard that Metformin that I take for prediabetes is extra hard on kidneys.  I just try to watch the diet and especially avoid high protein and drink at least 64 ounces of water a day.  So, in my opinion, I take one pill to fix something and it makes another part of my body go bad.

I have been looking at quilting patterns and tutorials again on Youtube and I think I am in the mood to quilt again.  I plan to do that when Dean is in the hospital for a month.  We have never been apart for that long and I am not looking forward to it.   I need to go sort my fabric as I have not done that for a long while.  I started it awhile back, but got distracted somehow.

Take care friends.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 26 ~ SAT AUGUST 1

CHERYL seems like both you and I have similar problems, my kidneys are also bad, not needing dialysis, but probably will in the future, keeping hydrated and being careful is all we can do, I also have osteoporosis - but the injections help as does the exercise, just saw my Dr on Friday, he was really happy, kidney function had improved from last visit - I wasn't drinking enough water, he also checked my head, and agreed that I didn't need anything other than sympathy. He understood that it was pain that cased the accident, and we have a plan for the gastro guy for early next year for a colonoscopy, not needed just yet - unless I have another attack of diverticulosis. Then I need to get it done ASAP, At least I get to loose some weight and get a good sleep after the no sleep the night before LOL

SANDRA that mac and cheese sounds good, I do like having a crunchy top, I use potato chips (crisps?) and a sprinkle of cheese, adds some lovely crunch doesn't  it? I'll have to try INDY's Recipe

DEVONNE that was close for your weight, good work!! We also like Alaska but the scenery in Canada in the Rockies was spectacular. We were very lucky with clear weather.

INDY good idea to miss the show if the weather is not good, you wouldn't  have enjoyed the getting there, we had rain yesterday too, just very light AND annoying, it was cold too, we have all been commenting that we haven't had any zero temps this winter it feels cold but the wind has made it so,  it's actually  been a warm winter for us. Guess that means a HOT summer

I had dinner with my friend Joyce and her TaiChi group, they were all lovely, but too much food, they decided to get the banquet menu for everyone, at least 6 main dishes plus the starters, then fried ice cream, and then the master had bought a cake, it was watermelon flavoured, never heard of such a thing, it was sweet, but very nice flavour, it was his birthday in June and the TaiChi birthday in late July so he wanted to celebrate it all, he sat at our table mostly and he was a lot of fun. He's only young, 36 last birthday, and he is so excited about everything and happy !

I am tired, it wasn't a late night but we didn't eat till late and then I was too full to sleep when I got home, There was lots of take away containers left, I didn't want any, nether did Joyce, we think the master took our table leftovers, he said he's always hungry

I heard from Ashley, she tried something else, but it didn't work, I have no idea how to sign in with my email, so I couldn't use her login. I will keep trying

(((hugs))) and prayers
