I had Lyme twice, years ago. Once you have it you will test positive no matter what. MY DH was friends with the MD (an infectious disease dr) who identified it and was among the first to develop indentification, treatment, etc.  It was first discovered and isolated in Lyme CT.  Spread quickly to NY.  Deer are carriers but do not actually suffer from it. 
     I always follow the doxycycline protocol as soon as I discover and remove a tick.  I don’t wait as you basically have 48-72 hrs to “beat” it.  Believe me one big blast of doxycycline is much better than 30 days of Doxy. It can take as long as a week for BW results for Lyme and by then it’s basically too late.  Been there, done that.
    When we moved down to VA the local dr gave me an argument over ticks, Lyme and protocol.  He said there was no tick/lyme issue here.  He refused my request.  I went to another dr the same day and got it.  She said it was an issue here but didn’t know about the doxy protocol and promised to look it up.  I gave her the name of my DH’s friend.  She called to thank me.

Sandra- we went to Staunton, VA, again. Rode the train, went to a glass blowing place, Hobby Store, checked out a new quilt shop, she had literally opened two days earlier!  One night we went to see a play..Our Town. Nice 3 days. Perfect weather.

Oh Trish, so sorry about your fall.  I hope you are recovering quickly.  Falls are so terrible for us.

Holly, that is a beautiful cross stitch!  It will be beautiful when completed.  Do you usually frame them?  I have not done cross stitch for several years, but I always enjoyed doing it.  My last one was a black background and it just about drove me crazy.  lol!

Jessi, Kelli's daughter stopped by to visit today.  She is operating a small home based bakery for gluten-free/dairy free cookies and brownies.  She sells at fairs, markets and a coffee shop in the area has a table for her products.  She said she makes pretty good profit on the, but she does not count her time.  She said baking is her therapy.  She is now going through another divorce and she is only 39.  I feel so bad for her as he is giving her a terrible time financially and mentally.  I will not go into details, but she said she has a protective order against him and he has been arrested twice already for violating it.  She said she will never get married again; will just raise her two boys on her own.  She brought us a tray of the cookies and brownies and they were delicious.  I was not a huge fan of the texture, but the flavors were great.

Ticks are a problem in my area too.  Like Holly said, they are terrible creatures.

Dean's doctors have decided not to do the third chemo infusion and just go straight to the transplant.  He goes into the hospital on August 16 (Sunday) and will do 5 days of extreme chemo.  Then he will have 5 days of recovery and then the transplant.  His donor is all ready to go per the doctor.  We have been blessed.  

I have been missing sewing, so I think I will be doing a lot of that when Dean is in the hospital.  He will need to be there for 4 weeks, so I will have time.  We plan to facetime call and talk, so I will not be driving to Cleveland too often.  He said it will make him feel better if I stay home.  He is worried about me.

Today was a perfect 80 degrees with lovely sun and breeze.  We spent most of the day outdoors.  Aaron took Katie to Detroit to a concert so we have Amelia and Bosco for the night.
