Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 21 ~ SAT JUNE 27

OOPS I forgot to log out last night, don't like doing that LOL

DEVONNE thank you so much for looking up the info for Boardhost, I have tried to contact them a few times, waiting to change Admin, but have never received a response. I might see if they have some kind of help desk. But I suspect that Ashley will have to change something.  I am so very sorry about the poor dog, absolutely awful for them all (((hugs)))

SANDRA a quiet day doing jigsaws and watching TV would be my dream at the moment, I hope you have a good day with Matt. How is your friend who just had surgery? How is Bingo going, I would much rather stay here too (((hugs)))

INDY to funny abut the cake, I have done that, set the oven then turned it off, THEN forgot how long I needed to bake. You'd get a laugh out of this, John & Gary away, so it's just Megan, Dean and dogs, he's staying up late studying, last night he comes to er round 9.30pm, can I make brownies LOL she gave in and let him, he did it all, she cleaned up, and he ate 1/3 of the pan last night. That boy is hopeless when it comes to brownies, I'd say most of it's gone now while we were at the baptism, he has a cold and needed to study for exams this week.

THERESA so glad to hear it's all going well now, we had notice while we were away that the monies from his sister are now being sent out. It was quite quick, but she didn't have anything but some cash invested in  term deposits

HOLLY hope it's going well for you, and you have  been able to comfort your brother. Even though it's expected it's still so hard. (((hugs)))

CHERYL I'm sure he'll feel better after the next infusion, it does help, but I know they get quite tired when the next is due. My brother is the same, he sleeps a lot before his next dose.

The baptism was OK, the priest was very hard to understand, I think south american accent, and the people ----well let's say most of them only go to christenings and weddings in a church, they talked and talked, so rude!!!

Chloe & Lyndon organised pizzas at a local sports club, they were nice, but I have had enough food
"out" last 2 weeks, so I was glad to get home and have some fruit LOL

It's cold here compared to what we have been used to - it was freezing this morning, and it was quite cold when we got home. Megan came with us and I drove home as W had a couple beers.
I have done 1 lot of washing tonight, more to do tomorrow, but I have my eye test in the morning, then yoga.

I'll start some new threads during the week, my brain is fried tonight, I can't do more, I think my long drives yesterday, then again today have wiped me out LOL

(((hugs))) and prayers

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 21 ~ SAT JUNE 27

IT'S TRUE......
1.  I PUT IT IN A SAFE PLACE BUT FORGOT WHERE THAT SAFE PLACE WAS.
2.  NOT ONLY DOES MY MIND WANDER, SOMETIMES IT WALKS OFF COMPLETELY.

ITS ABSOLUTELY LOVELY OUT RIGHT NOW AT 67 WITH 70S EXPECTED BUT ALSO SOME MORE RAIN LATER THIS AFTERNOON.  NO COMPLAINTS.  IT WON'T STAY AROUND LONG.

MY SON SHOPPED AND GOT ALL I NEEDED FOR 3 WEEKS BUT HE WAS IN A HURRY SO DID NOT STOP TO EAT.  HE SHOPPED EARLIER THAN USUAL SINCE HIS WIFE HAD PLANS TO DRIVE HIM TO PORTSMOUTH FOR A MEAL  FOR HIS BIRTHDAY.  THEY HAVE A FAVORITE RESTAURANT THERE.  YES, MY BABY IS NOW 58.  I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE IT.

YESTERDAY AFTERNOON I GOT A PHONE CALL FROM NEIGHBOR MICHELE TO COME HELP HER.  I PASSED SHARON IN THE HALLWAY, WHO HAD NURSING HOME EXPERIENCE, AND BROUGHT HER ALONG.  MICHELE WAS IN DISTRESS AND A BIT BLUE AROUND THE LIPS.  SAID SHE WAS SO SHAKY SHE COULD NOT WALK.  911 WAS CALLED AND THEY ARRIVED.  SHE DID NOT WANT TO GO TO HOSPITAL AT FIRST BUT THEY PUT HER ON A HEART MONITOR AND THE RESULTS CHANGED HER MIND.  THEY TOOK HER IN YESTERDAY.  I PUT THE SOUP SHE HAD HEATING ON HER STOVE INTO A CONTAINER IN HER FRIDGE AND FINISHED OPENING HER CAN OF PEACHES SHE HAD STARTED AND DID THE SAME.  AFTER LOCKING UP I CAME BACK LATER AND DID THE FEW DISHES IN HER SINK.  I BROUGHT A SPONGE AND MY BLUE DAWN POWER WASH SPRAY TO DO THEM.  HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HER YET THIS MORNING.  HOPING SHE IS ON THE MEND WHATEVER THE CAUSE.  SAY A PRAYER OR TWO FOR MICHELE.   SHE IS ONE I SOMETIMES BRING A MEAL AND ALSO I GET HER MAIL FOR HER DAILY AND TAKE OUT HER TRASH A COUPLE TIMES A WEEK. SHE HAS NOT BEEN TO BINGO FOR A FEW WEEKS NOW SINCE SHE HAS NOT BEEN FEELING UP TO PAR.

I DID WELL ON THE NEW PUZZLE I HAD STARTED.  IT WAS COMING ALONG WELL BUT IT WAS MY BACK THAT REBELLED SO I STOPPED.  DID SOME READING AND WATCHED TV OF COURSE.
TODAY I PLAN TO DEFROST A PORK CHOP AND THEN LOOK FOR A CASSEROLE RECIPE AND DEFROST SOMETHING FOR THAT AS WELL.  I HAVE A COUPLE OF MEATBALLS LEFT THAT I CAN MAKE INTO A SMALL SUB FOR MY LUNCH.

THAT'S IT LADIES.  MY EXCITING LIFE FOR THE DAY.  STAY SAFE.  HAVE A GOOD DAY AND WISH YOUR GUYS A HAPPY FATHER'S DAY FROM ME.  OH, AND ITS ALSO THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER.  YIPPEE.
HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 21 ~ SAT JUNE 27

Trish, I didn’t mind at all. I’m always doing research!  I hope the info is legit and Ashley got it mixed up with no more “new” free accounts. I hope we get to stay here too! Since you have already set us up an account at pro boards, free forums.net, you can go into their settings and put our account into what they call “maintenance mode.” the public won’t be able to see it and you can retrieve it anytime you want to if we need it. I think it said it was under general, settings.

My back is still out of whack so this is going to be a slow weekend with not much accomplished. My stomach has been upset all weekend so I’m watching what I eat. I had Knorr broccoli and cheese (in the package) for lunch and some air fried squash. I love the Knorr products. You can fix it in the microwave, but I always cook it on the stove. I’ve been taking Tylenol for my back because it’s easier on your tummy. I did get some laundry done this morning, but it’s not finished. I also got the kitchen cleaned up & the dishwasher loaded. How does one person have so many dirty dishes?

I forgot Macy is Hannah‘s dog, so it wasn’t G&E’s fault what happened to her. I do wonder if a coyote would attack one of the larger dogs that are not in an enclosed fence? Jenna is Hannah‘s German Shepherd and Zack is their blue heeler. they both run free. Zack is deaf.  Hannah has plans to fence in part of the yard for the dogs, but they haven’t had time to do that yet. It needs to be made a priority, but I’m not saying anything.

Emily said she could tell I had lost weight, so that made me feel pretty good. It gives me more motivation to keep trying. Logan was at 250; he’s now 185 and is building up his muscles. He goes to the gym every day when he gets off work.

That’s my notebook for today, lol!

ETA: I should have known the Knorr products were high carbs because it’s pasta… 45 carbs.! I took it off my grocery list, lol.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 21 ~ SAT JUNE 27

Here's my notebook!  Our beautiful summer was short!
It's in the 60s now, chilly and rainy. Howard has a jacket and hat on and I have my fleece robe over my muu muu!

Devonne, wow! congrats to Logan.  That's a lot of weight he's lost.  I always wonder, too, how two people can have so many dirty dishes and clothes!  But then there's Tom next door...he is always in filthy clothes with many holes and his hands are dirty and when he comes over, he always stands behind one of my dining chair and paws around on the covers which makes me cringe.  I suppose he changes his clothes when he comes home from work and never bothers to wash the ones he changes into.   Sometimes his pants are unzipped.  I told that to Shena once and she told me that she's after him about that all the time.     But since he graciously brings the eggs over, I must overlook all that.

Andrew came home on the train last evening. For Bill, for Father's Day.  Their whole house is in shambles while they're painting and have taken out the old carpet which Bill will be replacing it with new flooring, starting this week.  I haven't been over, but I guess it's quite a mess.  And, they are neat as a pin, otherwise.  Oh well, it'll be more than worth it.

QB, another good Samaritan episode from you.  Thankfully, you were there for Michelle and it was meant to be that you ran across the other lady for help.  I hope she's okay and home in better shape, soon.  I know you like where you are, but you also have been put there for just such as this.  I'm sure that's how you feel, too.  It's heartwarming...

Rita, our former, we thought, DIL, after sending me a Mother's Day card, sent H. a F. D. card, this week.  Talk of an 'about face'.  She has certainly done one.  And it's nice.  But, we never thought this would happen.  David has never completed the divorce proceedings and she hopes and believes there'll be a reconciliation, someday.  We'll have two new great grandson's within a few weeks, so I hope we can continue with some kind of relationship.

Trish, when this all settles down, I hope you can get some down time and rest for yourself.  This has been over the top, even for you and yours.  I love your Dean and John anecdotes.
Since we've 'watched' them grow up, it's fun.   At least HE made the brownies and didn't wheedle Megan into doing that!  Maturity is coming...

My life would be and have been  lessened  if it wasn't for all of you and your families, etc.  Especially, as an only child, with a small family, now.  Bless you all.    Indy

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 21 ~ SAT JUNE 27

Sandra, it was good that you were able to help your neighbor, Michelle.  Sending prayers that she will be OK after her hospital stay.

Trish, like Judy, I, too, like your Dean and John stories.  I love young people and watching them turn into adults.

It was another lovely day and Aaron and his family came over and cut the grass for Dean and cleaned the gutters.  It bothers Dean that he cannot do these things, but hoping that next year he will be back on his mower.  He has always been picky about his lawn and now he is just happy to get it cut.  Aaron and the family had a wonderful trip to California.  His inlaws are putting an elevator into the house since his mother in law is having a terrible time with swelling and pain in her feet and cannot get around.  Aaron asked why not just a chair lift, but his MIL did not like the looks of it and wanted an elevator, so they are losing a bedroom to put in that elevator.

Thinking of you all.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 21 ~ SAT JUNE 27

STUDENTS GET IT WRONG......
1.  THREE KINDS OF BLOOD VESSELS ARE ARTERIES, VANES AND CATERPILLARS.
2.  A FOSSIL IS  AN EXTINCT ANIMAL.  THE OLDER IT IS, THE MORE EXTINCT IT IS.

WE NEVER GOT THE RAIN.  ITS SUNNY AND BRITE AND WILL STAY IN THE 70S ALL WEEK.  LOVE MAINE WEATHER.

OUR MICHELE CAME HOME YESTERDAY.  SHE IS DOING WELL.  HAD A PROBLEM WITH HER POTASSIUM WHICH WAS CAUSING HER ISSUES.  I WILL BRING HER SOME COWBOY CASSEROLE TONITE AND TAKE OUR HER TRASH TODAY ALONG WITH PICKING UP HER MAIL.  SHE CAN TAKE IT EASY.

I WAS DRAWING THIS MORNING.  DID A HUMMINGBIRD AND A PAIR OF CHICKADEES.  I THINK THEY WILL BE MY NEXT PROJECTS ONCE I GET MY LADIES AND TEACUPS FINISHED.
THOUGH I LOVE DINOSAURS AND DINOSAUR MOVIES, I COULD NEVER BE A FOSSIL HUNTER.  THEY DIG OUT AND SCRAPE AND BRUSH FOSSILS FOR HOURS AND HOURS.  MY ATTENTION SPAN COLD NOT TAKE IT.  I LIKE QUICK RESULTS.
I MADE A LARGE PORK CHOP WITH SOME RICE ARONI LAST NITE FOR SUPPER SO HAD ONLY HALF THE CHOP.  I HAVE ENOUGH LEFTOVER FOR LUNCH AS WELL.  THEN I WILL MAKE SOME COWBOY CASSEROLE.  THIS IS A NEW RECIPE I FOUND THAT USES TATER TOTS FOR A TOPPING.  LOOKS GOOD ON YOUTUBE.  I HAVE ALL THE INGREDIENTS HANDY SO WILL GIVE IT A TRY.  I HAVE 3 ON MY LIST TO SHARE IT WITH ME.
NOT MUCH HAPPENING TO RELATE.
TAKE CARE.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 21 ~ SAT JUNE 27

Trish, I texted Ashley and gave her your email address.

The landscapers are finally here doing my front flower bed. It’s looking good so far.

Janet, was it a graduation party you went to?

This trip to Fla is now Ed driving me and Heather, Ralph going with nephews Michael and Jake. Mike and Donna in their car. Steph flying in from Portland, Manda, Amary and Garrett flying from SeaTac. So many moving parts! Funeral is Saturday morning on the farm. We’re leaving here Thursday morning and driving at least halfway and staying overnight somewhere. It’s about an 18 hour drive all together.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 21 ~ SAT JUNE 27

Linda, so sorry your feet and ankles are swollen. I hope it goes down soon. This happens to me on cruise ships. Will be interesting to see if it happens again in September.

Holly, that's going to be a very long trip. What part of Florida are you traveling to?

Cheryl, it's an emotional time for Dean when he can't do what he is used to doing. Sending love and hugs to both of you.

This is the last picture I painted. You can paint the background however you want to. I redid this one 3 times before I was happy with it, lol. I added more cattails than what was in the original picture. I bought a sailboat picture at Goodwill I am redoing. The sails need to be brighter.

Stomach is better, but not at 100%. I need to go eat something!

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 21 ~ SAT JUNE 27

Holly- where in FLorida?  It takes us about 10 + hours hours to drive to St Augustine. We stop at Jekyll Island overnight.  Coming home we drive straight through.  If we go in Feb we will probably stop on the way back.
Yes, it was my grandsons high school graduation party.  About 100 people. The food was very good…buffet.
The ride up was a lot of traffic, tractor trailers, campers, motorcycles and construction.  Fortunately no standstills heading north but the southbound lanes were backed up for about 6 miles…not moving at all.  We heard later that it was backed up, totally stopped for almost 3 hours!  Coming home the road was clear but it’s still a grueling ride.  DH does all the driving…he’s the designated driver and I’m the designated driver sleeper. 🤣.  20 hours round trip for a 3 hr party. 😵‍💫🤪

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 21 ~ SAT JUNE 27

We’re staying in Kissimmee at a time share resort that we’ve been happy with in the past, called Star Island. The funeral is in Polk City, off Interstate 4, near Lakeland in Central Florida, cattle country. We’ve driven many times, but not for years. The funeral is on the grounds of their farm, as is the burial.

Comcast/Xfinity is having an outage, all around the country. Our internet is fine, but the TV is out.

GOOD EVENING!

FEET AND ANKLES MUCH BETTER. THANKS.

TODD TOOK THE NISSAN IN TO DEALERSHIP TO GET IT SERVICED AND STATE INSPECTION. BRAKE JOB NEXT YEAR.

STILL HEMMING AND HAWING ON THE CABLE TV ISSUES. GIVING UP A LIT OF CHANNELS DOESN'T REDUCE IT MUCH. DISAPPOINTED IN THAT. THERE ARE A LOT OF CHANNEL WE DO NOT WATCH.

THANKING OF EVERYONE. PRAYERS......

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 21 ~ SAT JUNE 27

STRINGS so glad to hear you feel better, any idea why and how it happened?

SANDRA good to hear Michelle is doing better, hopefully they found what is wrong, sometimes it's too much of something, or meds not working well together (((hugs))) I think your cowboy casserole might be similar to my cottage pie, I made it today for Chal (and Gary & kids) they will prob have it tonight, I dropped it over today, Chloe was home, but Chal was at the house she is selling and hadn't got home.

HOLLY going to be a long couple days driving, make sure you get out and walk every so often, otherwise you will be so stiff at the end, thanks for sending the text to ASHLEY, I do appreciate. I had thought you had left already.

DEVONNE you have a talent I would have no clue where to start with painting, they have Paint & Sip groups here, very popular, you have a glass of wine and everyone gets to paint something, one local is called Pinot & Picasso most paintings don't look very Picasso LOL

INDY & CHERYL glad you enjoy my  stories about the boys, they are my joy, I just don't get how other grandparents don't have anything to do with their grands, I would miss mine terribly.

JANET that is a long way for just a day or two, we  always fly if it's so short a time, have you ever thought you might do that. It's such a long way, especially as we are all getting older, I find I am getting more stiff sitting for too long now Glad to hear it was a good trip though

We had Olly's birthday last night, it was a quiet night and we all tried to make it a special celebration for him, and we did till the end, Chal was barely coping with cake, candles and singing, and she and the kids and Gary all stood together, Mike's brother then approached Chal and told her Mike would be very disappointed that  his parents were not included in the photos, they all felt slighted.
Honestly, if they wanted to be in photos they could have at least tried to socialise with everyone instead of sitting in a huddle looking miserable.
We've decided that Chal will have someone with her all the time when they are invited anywhere again, this is hard enough without creating more angst. It was especially hard for her as the date was 22nd June here, and he died on 22nd May.

I had training today, it was cold, we did warm up, but still pretty cold, winter has arrived, and I am not complaining, it's hard to get moving in the cold, but way better than being hot!! I had decided at 5am when I woke that I would make the cottage pie, so did my grocery order, and picked it up after training, only takes me 10 mins at the most now to do the order.

I will be off to bed soon, waking so early I am tired now!

(((hugs))) and prayers

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 21 ~ SAT JUNE 27

STUDENTS' HISTORY BLOOPERS......
1. SOCRATES WAS A FAMOUS GREEK TEACHER WHO WENT AROUND GIVING PEOPLE ADVICE.  THEY KILLED HIM.  SOCARATES DIED FROM AN OVERDOSE OF WEDLOCK.  AFTER HIS DEATH, HIS CAREER SUFFERED A DRAMATIC DECLINE.
2.  IN THE  OLYMPIC GAMES, GREEKS RAN RACES, JUMPED, HURLED THEIR BISCUITS, AND THREW THE JAVA.  THE REWARD TO THE VICTOR WAS A CORAL WREATH.

ANOTHER LOVELY DAY.  NOT BRAGGING, JUST STATING.

TRISH.......IF THE ARTIST GROUP ISN'T ANY GOOD AT PINOT AND PICASSO, IT HAS THE PERFECT NAME.  HOW MANY CAN UNDERTAND A PICASSO.
THANK YOU, MICHELE IS DOING BETTER.  SHE'S ON POTASSIUM WHICH IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE.  HAS A FOLLOW-UP TOMORROW.  SHE HAS ENOUGH COWBOY CASSEROLE FOR ANOTHER MEAL.

STRINGS.....WITH A CABLE CHANGE, I HOPE YOU ARE ABLE TO KEEP YOUR FAVORITE CHANNELS.  AND HAVING A BOX THAT CAN RECORD A COUPLE OF PROGRAMS IS WONDERFUL.  MY BOX DOES 6 AT A TIME.  I LOVE IT.  NO MORE MISSING A SHOW.  I CHECK A DAY AHEAD AND SET THE ONES I WANT TO WATCH TO 'RECORD.'  THEN I CAN WATCH THEM AT MY LEISURE AND FAST FORWARD THRU THE ADS.  LOVE THAT FEATURE.  ITS A GOOD THING.

DEVONNE......I HAVE TO TELL YOU, I LIKE YOUR ART.  BETTER THAN PICASSO IN MY BOOK.  YOUR SUBJECTS HAVE BEEN SO GOOD.  I WOULD HANG ANY OF THEM IN MY APT ANYTIME.  GOOD WORK.

WHEN WE LIVED IN CENTRAL FLORIDA, WE OFTEN DROVE (MY HUBBY DID, I NAVIGATED) TO MAINE ON VACATIONS AND BACK.  WE ALWAYS STOPPED IN VIRGINIA ALONG THE WAY FOR OUR OVERNITE STAY.  IT WAS OVER 1200 MILES FROM MAINE TO FLORIDA.  THE NORTHERN PART WAS THE TOUGHEST WITH TRAFFIC.

I MADE THE NEW-TO-ME COWBOY CASSEROLE AND SHARED SO I ONLY HAVE ENOUGH LEFTOVERS FOR 2 MORE SMALL MEALS.  TODAY I MAY MAKE MYSELF SOME POTATO PANCAKES.  I HAVE A CRAVING.  IF NOT, I HAVE OTHER THINGS I CAN EAT IN A PINCH.  I NEED TO SEE WHAT I WANT TO DEFROST FOR THIS WEEK.
MY DAY WILL BE THE USUAL.  I WON'T BORE YOU.
I TOOK PICS OF OUR FRONT GARDEN YESTERDAY.  SUCH A BUNCH OF LOVELY HOSTAS AND SOME FLOWERING BUSHES THAT DO WELL IN THE SHADE.  THE RESIDENT VEGGIE GARDENS ARE ALSO DOING SO WELL.  I HOPE TO SEE FREE VEGGIES ON THE COUNTER SOON, FOR THOSE OF US WHO DO NOT GARDEN.  ITS ALWAYS A BONANZA OF GOOD STUFF.

WELL, THAT'S MY VISIT WITH YOU THIS MORNING.  HUGS FOR YOU ALL.  I AM SO LUCKY TO HAVE YOU IN MY LIFE.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 21 ~ SAT JUNE 27

Thank you for the positive comments on my painting. I will get better the more I do. I will start on the sailboat painting later today. For now, it's my "get out of the house" day. I'll be shopping for birthday gifts today.

Janet, it may have been a long trip but the positive things are you got to see your family and you are happy to be back home. This tells me you are finally "somewhat" settled in there. How long have you lived there now?

My stomach is growling so I need to eat something before I leave.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 21 ~ SAT JUNE 27

Steph is in Las Vegas for work, and she said it’s 108 there! She’s staying at a convention hotel, which is so big there are 5 Starbucks in it! It’s called Mandalay Bay conference center.

It’s rainy off and on. Our neighbor Dave came over to get a key, he’ll feed the cats and get the mail while we’re away.

Stauffer’s lasagna for dinner. I have to get an Afghan started, so I can work on it during the long ride south. The advantage to driving is that we can take more stuff with us.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 21 ~ SAT JUNE 27

I’m home after a visit to David’s. I went down on Saturday and got to have time with granddaughter Jessica and her family that afternoon and evening. Sunday was a fairly quiet day, took David, Melanie and Clarissa out to eat at a Japanese restaurant that was very good -I will be having leftovers from there later today. Zach and Abigail came over that evening. My plan was to come home Monday but there were severe thunderstorm warnings out for the the first half of my route. I do not like driving through Memphis under the best conditions and certainly did not want to do it with hard rain and gusty winds. By the time the storms passed through, I thought it was too late to star5 home. I had more visiting time wth David, Melanie, Zach and Abigail. I didn’t get any extra time with Clarissa because she had rehearsals for a musical she in in. I will be going back down the first of August to see that.

A funny thing happened on the way home. I always breathe a sigh of relief when I cross the river this side of Memphis. Just as I got off the bridge today the song “I Made It” came on the radio!

I took a slightly different route on the last leg of my drive so I could stop at a peach orchard. I will be making a peach pie to share with Lynn and William when they come this weekend!  My favorite kind of pie.
