We are in the apartment, 25th floor and lovely view of the beach, too bad it’s drizzling 😃.
Got to our stop last night 7.45pm, I did the last 2+ hours driving, it was fine, actually better passing the big semi’s than it is in daylight.
We are tired, but meeting friends later for dinner, mine will be a snack, I need sleep tonight, slept very little last night and surviving on caffeine 😃
The funeral was of course heartbreaking, especially hearing the kids say they will miss their dad at their milestones coming up, 18th, 21st, graduation and weddings. They both spoke beautifully as did Chal.
It’s warm here compared to home, but we’ll need jackets later.
He’s playing tomorrow, not sure I will go all day, I might go later, I can always splurge on an Uber and leave him the car.

There’s been a Moringa supplement recall due to salmonella.
If you’re still using it Sandra maybe you should check it out?
Dentist today for us, just a cleaning, I hope but I do despise going…I consider it an intrusion.

Janet, I think you meant Moringa supplements. I watch a guy on YT and he eats the leaves straight off his Moringa trees.
Trish, enjoy the view when the weather lets up. Glad the funeral is behind you.
I'm up early today, at 7:00 am, and I'm not an early bird at all. I will probably need a nap today.
Tomorrow I have an appt. at the hearing aid center at Costco. Their return policy on hearing aids is six months, which is very good. I don't have a Costco membership, but Greg does and will meet me there.

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES......
1. SWAZI KING, 2 SONS POISON SUSPECTS.
2. DEALERS WILL HEAR CAR TALK FRIDAY NOON.
STARTING OUT NICE AND SUNNY. TEMPS WILL BE IN 70S. NITES ARE IN THE 50S AND 60S NOW. RAIN FORECAST THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
JANET....THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATE ABOUT MORINGA. SINCE I AM OVER HALFWAY THRU A 6 MONTH SUPPLY WITH NO BAD EFFECTS, I THINK I AM SAFE. I WILL STILL SEE IF I CAN FIND OUT ANYTHING ABOUT THIS RECALL.
THERESA......HOORAY, YOU ARE FINALLY ABLE TO DISTRIBUTE FUNDS. I AM SURE YOU ARE HAPPY. YES, I WOULD CERTAINLY HAVE TALKED TO A SUPERVISOR BEFORE NOW ABOUT THE OIL BUSINESS. THAT'S TOO LONG TO GET RESULTS.
TRISH......ENJOY YOUR TRIP.
YIKES, IF I WAS ON THE 25TH FLOOR I FOR SURE WOULD NOT GO OUT ON A BALCONY. MY KNEES WOULD GO WEAK AND I'D GET A FLUTTER IN MY GUT.
FUNERALS ARE ALWAYS SO SAD, WHETHER THEY ARE OLD OR YOUNG, WE DON'T WANT TO LOSE THEM. AS TO EULOGIES, I COULD NEVER DO ONE. I CRY TOO EASILY. I WOULD BE BLUBBERING FROM START TO FINISH.
TRY TO ENJOY YOUR TRIP.
I MADE A SMALL MEATLOAF WITH THE GROUND BEEF AND INCLUDED SMALL DICED FRESH TOMATOES AND SWEET PEPPERS THIS TIME. I NEED MORE VEGGIES IN MY DIET. IT WAS GOOD. I HAVE ENOUGH FOR LEFTOVERS. THE TATERS AND CARROTS ROASTED WITH IT WERE SO TASTY. I CAN MAKE A TATER AND EGG HASH FOR TOMORROW. AS FOR TODAY, ITS MEATLOAF WITH A CORN COB FOR LUNCH AND THEN MEATLOAF WITH TATERS AND CARROTS FOR SUPPER AFTER BINGO. EASY MEALS.
I WAS BUSY YESTERDAY PRESSING FABRICS, CUTTING OUT BORDERS AND BACKINGS, AND PINNING LAYERS TOGETHER. I HOPE TO GET SOME SEWING DONE TODAY, BOTH ADDING A COUPLE OF BORDERS AND ALSO MACHINE QUILTING.
MY DAILY LIFE COMMENCES PER USUAL. A FEW CHORES, MY WALKING LAPS, MAYBE WORKING THE JIGSAW, READING NOW AND THEN AND LUCKY ME, NO COOKING TO DO.
HAVE A NICE DAY. HUGS, QB S

Sandra, I did my mom’s eulogy. I practiced it every night til I could get thru it without crying, and I had it all written out.
Supposed to be a drizzley day here. I’m waiting on the daily update from my brother.

JANET, ......I CHECKED THE RECALL. I AM HAPPY TO REPORT, MY BRAND WAS NOT RECALLED. THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW THOUGH SINCE I NEVER CHECK FOR SUCH THINGS.

Linda, I sent you an email with pictures of some of the blouses I bought. Is that what you wanted? If not, let me know and I'll redo it, lol!

Howard is lunching with the ROMEOS. Judy is enjoying the solitude and quiet, ie, no TV on.
It's going to top out at 90 today. I've not even stuck my nose out yet, but will sometime. We might be in for some severe storms in the next two days, per the weatherman. Who knows?
He has stuff to get at W-M afterwards. W-M is right on his way home from the restaurant they always eat at so that makes it convenient... ![]()
ML had planned to come over and work on my clothes, but will come tomorrow instead. Fine with me. Maybe I'll get some other things done. My clothes might be harder than papers and stuff. Not that they're so beautiful, just that everytime I blythely part with something, sometime later, I'm sorry I did. Still, it's become a necessity, and I know I'll feel better, after.
I admire all of you who are more determined and stronger.
Devonne, it IS easier to stay home, but it does one good to get out. I think your two times a week plan is a good one. Do you have any 'girl' friends locally to eat lunch out with, occasionally? I ask because that is one way to get out that doesn't involves solitude shopping. Anyway, getting tired is caused by getting older is my take on that!![]()
Janet, good way to put it: the dentist being an intrusion! ![]()
At the Memorial service we attended on Sunday, the oldest son attempted, several times, to do the eulogy and each time there were very long pauses while he tried to regain his composure. It was sad and awkward and apologetic, but really someone else should have done it, for his sake and ours...he admitted he was too emotional for it. ![]()
Trish, I hope you can have some relaxation/pleasure while you're gone. Your life has been over the top lately and then the funeral immediately before this trip. Sometimes it's hard to settle down after all that. Best wishes--I don't remember how long you'll be away...
Better start thinking about what's for supper. We got groceries on Monday, so lack of them is not the issue. Have a good rest of the day. ![]()

Afternoon y'all! ![]()
Sent emails to my niece and NSDB. Telling them what is happening and how much they will get. My Niece called me in tears. Told me she can by an RV to live in while they build their home in AZ. She can also finalize her mom's estate. She will save a ton on rent, and dog portion of her rent! I have not heard from my brother. I sent him a text! ![]()
We also sent an email to a contact in Mississippi, who works for the company. She forwarded my email to someone else, in the company. She, like me thinks it should be all settled by now! We will see if it has any outcome! ![]()
Sara has an interview in DC, this week. She is coming for the documents they told her she would need for the interview. She has another interview with Georgia Tech, I don't pretend to know the details. Both positions are looking promising. ![]()
Not much else happening from my little corner of the world. ![]()

MALAPROPS.......
1. IN THE EARLY SIXTIES, WE WERE STRONG AND VIRULENT.
2. CAESAR'S WIFE MUST BE BEYOND REFUTE.
WE HAD THUNDER AND LIGHTNING ALL NITE WITH SOME RAIN NOW AND THEN BUT NO POWER OUTAGES, THANK GOODNESS. TODAY IS LOOKING BETTER BUT MORE RAIN LATER THEY SAY. NICE TEMPS THO SO NO COMPLAINTS.
JUDY......I SURE KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT CLOTHES AND WISHING YOU'D NOT GOT RID OF THEM. NOW THAT I AM DOWN A SIZE, I AM SO HAPPY I KEPT SOME OF MY OLD CLOTHING. I CAN WEAR THEM NOW AND NOT SPEND TO RENEW MY WARDROBE. THEY ARE ALL IN PERFECT CONDITION. I STILL HAVE A FEW THAT I REALLY LIKED IN EVEN SMALLER SIZE, SO WILL SEE IF I CAN GET INTO THEM NEXT.
THERESA......HOW GREAT YOUR NIECE CAN REST EASIER FINANCIALLY NOW AND LIVE BETTER WITH HER INHERITANCE. IT CAME JUST AT THE RIGHT TIME.
DO YOU HAVE ANY BIG PURCHASE PLANNED OF YOUR OWN NOW? I AM SURE YOU WERE MENTIONED IN MOM'S WILL.
YOU HAVE BEEN SO BUSY AND WORKING SO HARD GETTING EVERYTHING COMPLETE YOU COULD PROBABLY USE A NICE VACATION THAT IS RESTFUL. MAYBE TO THE OCEAN OR TO THE NORTH COUNTRY DURING THE HEAT OF SUMMER. BUT MAYBE AFTER ALL THE HARD WORK, YOU JUST WANT TO REST AT HOME WITH THE MODERN STAYCATION, BEING HAPPY ALL THE WORRIES ARE FINALLY BEHIND YOU.
I HAVE A LOT OF WIPS THAT I CAN MACHINE-STITCH NEXT. I JUST THINK I NEED TO DO ONE OF THEM THIS MORNING BEFORE CRAFTS SO I CAN HANDSTITCH THE BINDING ON THAT ONE. I DO HAVE A COUPLE LADIES THAT NEED THEIR LABELS ATTACHED.
I STILL HAVE ANOTHER COUPLE MEALS FROM MY MEATLOAF ENDEAVOR. I MAY MAKE POACHED EGG AND POTATO HASH FOR LUNCH AND THEN FINISH UP THE REST OF THE MEATLOAF WITH CARROTS AND CORN ON THE COB FOR SUPPER. THEN I CAN THINK OF USING THE PORK CHOPS FOR TOMORROW AND THOSE BELINKIS ARE STILL ON MY MIND.
I LOST $2.75 AT BINGO LAST NITE SO NOT SO BAD. ITS NOT AS GOOD AS A SMALL WIN, BUT ITS CLOSE. I WAS HOPING TO WIN ENOUGH TO DO LAUNDRY TODAY BUT I GUESS I WILL HAVE TO DIG INTO MY LAUNDRY BUDGET THIS WEEK.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY TODAY. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Just a quick good morning. I’m anxious about my hearing aid appointment at 11:30 because I don’t know if I want the in your ear one or the one that goes over your ear. I have really small ears.Greg said they would help me with that.
We will probably go to Texas roadhouse after we leave Costco.
I had to slip on a pair of pants real quick this morning and go start my car. I left the door open for six hours so I wanted to make sure it would start. It started right up.! I was so surprised how loose these pants were. I’m going to do good today!

Dentist appointments yesterday went well. We usually go every 6 mos but I missed one last year so I was a bit nervous. One of us always gets sick a few days after, hopefully not this time. I read somewhere that they are like a Petri dish. My GP also said that.
Anyway, I have things to do before we go to NY next week. I dread that ride.

=26pxLisa the monthly housecleaner is here, so I went in the sewing room while she did this end of the house. Patchwork Plus is a quilt shop in VA (or W VA, I always forget) and they do several Facebook videos each week of what’s new in the shop. One week she showed a stuffy shark that they have sitting on the counter, and they put sunglasses on her. I fell in like with her, so ordered the panel. It’s the first time I’ve worked with minkee and it will be the last! It’s linty and slippery and moves even when pinned. Anyway, I got her all sewn together and she’s at the stuffing stage. I think her name is Ophelia, just because.
=26pxSo if I ever say I’m going to work with minkee again, someone please throw a book at me!
=26pxJanet, do you think the office is a Petri dish because of people in the waiting room? Or do they not use good technique?
=26pxLast night’s Morgan update was she was stable. John is going there again today to be with her.
=26pxWe’re under a heat advisory, it’s 90 now. Beaverton OR is also under a heat advisory. Steph is so glad she got AC when she had her heater replaced.
Sigh, I guess I have to decide what’s for dinner.

Another home day. ML and I canceled our plans re: my wardrobe. I'm just not up to it and she is having company for supper tomorrow and can use the time to get ready.
We want to get this done then back off for the rest of the summer and do some fun outings instead. Plus, they have been and will continue with their refurbishing. First, Bill painted half the rooms in their house. Next, he's going to install new flooring there. They redid the other half several years ago.
Janet, I have heard the same thing about dentist offices, but we have never gotten sick. Still, the way they do things, now, always seems wrong. But then, so do half the things in my world.
Theresa, sound like the education part of your parenting is coming to and end. I know Sara's been on her own for a long time, but still...Hope she gets just what she wants and maybe not too far away. It's been fun to follow Luke's journey from grade school to being a park ranger, a rather special occupation to my thinking. I have NO idea what Sara's job description is or will be. Plus, Alex's new life on his own. Good thing you've got Simba to keep you and Todd on your toes!
Devonne, best wishes as you check out the hearing aid world. EVERY WEEK or so, I get another "invitation" for hearing aids. Comes in a plain envelope with a computer-generated cursive address. But, they can't fool me! It's hearing aids...
into the waste basket it goes. I know someday, I'll be more receptive but then, hopefully, I'll have Howard whose had several different brands, to help me. Congrats one the looser pants!
Unfortunately, all my clothes seem a bit tighter, seldom ever looser.
QB, congrats to you too. You've worked hard for your looser clothes. Sorry about the small loss at Bingo. Guess, tho, that it's your mad money and won't change anything for you.
We have to pay for our entertainment, some way or another, don't we?
I'm going to make some chicken salad for supper from the rest of my l/o chicken. Better get that made so it'll have time to meld together. A good rest of day to all. ![]()

Holly- both. We wait in the car and have them text us when they’re ready for us. So we don’t sit in the waiting room. I do that at our GP too.
Dentist has certainly changed… remember when you rinsed and spit ? Now they spray water in you mouth and use a sucky outy thing. ( this office calls it Mr Sucky 🤣). Yuck

I was pleasantly surprised at my Costco hearing aid appt. I've had two previous hearing tests from two different ENT drs. and this test was the most thorough one yet. The hearing test is free. She said I've lost 45-50% of my hearing. My right ear has scar tissue (which no ENT dr ever told me). She said it's probably from a bad ear infection and could be the cause of my loss of hearing in my right ear (which is the worse one). She said I was not a candidate for an "in your ear" hearing aid because my ear was too small. She said my ear canal is very short ( never heard that before either, lol).
She recommended the Rexton hearing aid for me. They were $1,599 and we go pick them up next Thursday. Greg asked her all kinds of questions I never thought of. I can adjust the volume via my Iphone and make all kinds of adjustments. Time will tell if they work for me. There's a six months return policy. You also get a one time free aid for each ear if you lose them or they get damaged.
Theresa, ditto on what Judy posted about the kids growing up!
My dentist used to require we sit in our car until our appointment. They just lifted that requirement, but I liked it. I can't do that with my GP because it's a long walk if you can't find a parking space close and on the 2nd floor.
Here's a picture of the grill table I bought. I am pleased with it. I bring my little grill in because it's strictly an indoor grill. The cooking section comes out for easy cleaning. It has two cooking sections; one is flat and one is a raised grill. I don't know why the top is white? It's stainless steel and it's silver on the bottom.

HOLLY I got lucky and was able to enlarge, sometimes it works 😃 sending good thoughts for your brother’s wife 😢
The guys lost their game this morning, none of them played well, but the other team were very, very good and a much higher grade. If our guys hadn’t won their last game yesterday so well they may have had a different team, it all goes on percentages 🤣🤣I have no idea how they do it.
It’s been sunny here today - warm too - plus we were down stream from the airport, so some low planes overhead😃 it got loud then.
THERESA finally!! and I am glad your niece will have some help, it will make a big difference to her life.
SANDRA so not too much of a loss, and worth it for the entertainment 😃
INDY you can both come clean out my clothes 😃, there is a store about an hour from here, but timing couldn’t be worse, they are moving at the end of next week, so clearing out stock, not sure if it will be worthwhile to visit now. Their warehouse is right there too, but they are already moving stock. Darn it, was looking forward to going there.
DEVONNE nice cook top for you, will you freeze the burgers? We haven’t used our BBQ for a while, I should use it more.
JANET I hate the dentist too, but have never felt they were germy. Now I will wonder, mine is moving before my next visit, I’ll have to check out the new surgeries 😃
The Mr has gone for a walk, I used Uber yesterday to get to the club, drove around and around trying to park, gave up and brought the car back to the apartment and got an Uber, then did the same to get the car and go back to pick him up with all his gear 😃
The mess continues for my poor Chal, Megan took them pumpkin soup to tempt her to eat, Mike had no will and has left her mountains of debt, he really went out of control the last months. Gary will pay for a lot of it, and hopefully she will have enough to have an apartment or town house ( with a mortgage) after the house sell, but it’s in both their names and she is trying to get sole ownership.
I need to call my cousin to arrange to meet, maybe Sunday if she is available. It’s Friday afternoon here.

2. THE SWORD OR DAMOCLES IS HANGING OVER PANDORA'S BOX.
ITS A LOVELY DAY SO FAR. WE MAY GET A TOUCH OF SHOWERS LATER OR NOT.
I WOKE EARLY SO GOT MY WEEKLY AND MY DAILY CHORES DONE SO I CAN FREE UP TIME FOR SEWING LATER. ALSO DID MY DAILY LAPS.
I STILL HAVE TRASH TO TAKE OUT BUT THAT'S IT. I HOPE I CAN ACCOMPLISH A BIT OF SEWING TODAY BEFORE MY HAND AND BACK GIVES UP.
DEVONNE......I LIKE THAT GRILLE TABLE. NOW YOU CAN EAT OUTDOORS ON NICE DAYS. GRILLED FOOD ALWAYS SEEMS TO TASTE EXTRA GOOD.
I ORDERED 4 COZY MYSTERIES FROM TRIFTBOOKS YESTERDAY. THEY INCREASED THEIR NO SHIPPING CHARGE POLICY TO A MINIMUM OF $20 PURCHASE. THAT'S OK SINCE I USUALLY BUY MORE THAN THAT ANYWAY.
THAT'S IT FROM ME. I WISH YOU ALL A FINE DAY. HUGS, QB S ![]()
