Cheryl, sending prayers they find a donor soon for Dean. Thanks for explaining how his treatment works. I know that was quite a shock for him to learn he has this disease. It’s hard to accept it.
I was going to brag the gas prices came down from $3.89 to $3.74, but Gary texted me yesterday and told me to go fill up. He said gas was going up $.33 last night.
Sandra, I only weigh every Monday. It will be interesting next Monday to see if all the junk food shows up in my weight. I will do good this week so hopefully that will make a difference. I only do 5 lb. increments at a time, so I am sticking to 205 for my next goal, which is only 3.9 lbs. to go. I guess another way to look at it is we are lowering our BMI, and mine is off the chart. I don’t mind sharing my age nor my weight. It’s obvious you can’t hide either one of them, lol!
Judy, I hope Howard is doing well after his surgery. How nice to have your friend drop by to see you.
Linda, I have bought so many blouses. It has taken me hours and hours of shopping on Amazon; not every style will look good. I loved one of them so I bought every color. Yesterday I returned six blouses to the UPS store. It’s so nice I didn’t have to box any of them up. I’ll try to get you some info, but it may be next week.
Trish, I don’t know why no nuts? I thought nuts were good for your liver. Emily has been addicted to Monster drinks for years. Those things are terrible for you! Now she is trying to learn to like coffee, lol. How unusual to have power outages with your lines underground.
I want a bowl of grits, but I still have an hour to go in my intermittent fasting.
Melena is calling me soon to let me talk to Shelby. I don’t get to talk to her often.
ETA: Melena just called and I tried to talk to Shelby. It has gotten more difficult because she doesn’t say anything. I just asked her if she sleeps well, is she eating good and the basic questions. The phone call seemed overwhelming to her because there were other ladies in the room where she was. Melena calls it the activities room.

Howard's surgery, yesterday, went well. We were home by noon. He was uncomfortable for the rest of the day, but slept all night and his hand feels better this morning--still bandaged until tomorrow. Now, if we can figure out the exercises and if he'll do them?
For two months, June & July, we will be free of the parade of huge trucks, semis and mfg. homes that travel Hwy 6. INDOT is repairing a bridge for the third year?? Local traffic that can traverse the side roads will still be going by, but the sound level is dramatically reduced. We love it, but the neighbors have more difficulty driving to work so I don't crow about it to them.
"One man's pain is another man's pleasure" as the old saying goes.
I told H., one adult helping another whoosey adult get his clothes on should be on America's Funniest Videos! and we were crammed into a tiny recovery cubicle. Not sure I've ever had that "pleasure" before. Told him I'd only dressed little ones. Only had to help a bit this morning with his socks. Surgery, no matter how quick and simple, is still "something".
Cheryl, I think of you and Dean every day.
Good thing you ate most of your meals at home, before. He has such a good attitude. I'm surprised he can walk 2 miles. Hoping and praying that things move forward soon. Enjoy your little creatures. Deer are lovely, but can be pains when they eat our plants. One ate all of friend, Carol's pepper plants. ![]()
QB, your funnies have been especially funny to me lately!
Once again, thanks. Your little pink dragon is so cute. And your signature fairies do add just a bit of interest. Leftovers are wonderful but one can get a bit tired of them. I still throw a little too much away that I can't abide another time. Working on that...
ML just called. She wants me to come over and help her pick out flooring for the rooms they are redecorating. I don't know why as she's had very good taste and probably has something (from the samples she brought home) picked out already. I'll see if Howard wants to ride along. So...I'd better be going. Have a good day. Indy

Do the rest of you always have a lot of errands? I needed to go pick up my sewing machine after having it serviced. The shop is 30 miles away so anytime I go that direction, I try to think of everything in the area that I might need to do soon. I made SEVEN stops! It would have only been six if I had remembered that I also needed to get some thread when I picked up the machine. But now I should be able to stay home all day tomorrow and sew.

Sandra- with regards to masks. I rarely wore a mask during Covid unless a shop owner, etc insisted. I didn’t even wear one at the drs office….and I never got sick.
Today is DH’s birthday. No plans. Actually he just left to do the grocery shopping. It will be interesting to see to see if and when our son will call or text him.

ACCIDENTAL BLOOPERS......
1. THE GENTLEMAN BEHIND ME STRUCK ME ON THE BACKSIDE. HE THEN WENT TO REST IN A BUSH WITH JUST HIS REAR END SHOWING.
2. THE INDIRECT CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT WAS A LITTLE GUY IN A SMALL CAR WITH A BIG MOUTH.
ANOTHER HOT ONE TODAY. I NEVER GOT OUT TO READ. IT WAS ACTUALLY TOO WARM FOR ME. I PREFER THE 70S.
JUDY......HOORAY FOR HOWARD GETTING IT DONE AND ITS NOT TOO BAD. I HOPE HE LEARNS TO DO THE EXERCISES SO HE CAN HAVE FULL CONTROL SOON. CONGRATS HOWARD.
TODAY THEY TEST THE SMOKE ALARMS. THAT MEANS A BLARING OF MANY AT THE SAME TIME AND BELIEVE ME ITS LOUD. I HAVE TO TURN OFF MY AMPLIFIER SO ITS NOT SO BAD. THEY TEST EVERY APT. SO IT TAKES A GOOD WHILE OF NOISY ACTION. I HOPE ITS DURING CRAFT TIME SO WE CAN BE IN THE COMMON ROOM. ITS NOT SO LOUD THERE.
I LOST AT BINGO LAST NITE, MY WHOLE $6. THAT'S ALL WE BRING. WE PLAY 12 GAMES AT 50 CENTS A GAME. THAT WAY WE CAN'T LOSE TOO MUCH. STILL, A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL.
OUR COST ON THE LAUNDRY MACHINES WENT UP A QUARTER. $2 FOR A WASH AND $2.25 FOR A DRY. THE MACHINES ARE BIG THO SO I CAN DO A WHOLE WEEK'S LOAD IN ONE MACHINE SO IT WON'T BREAK ME. IF I DO A LOT OF HAND LAUNDRY, I CAN EASILY GO 2 WEEKS. MY DRESSES ARE ALL WASH 'N WEAR SO I WASH, THEN SLING THEM OVER THE SHOWER POLE TO DRY. SAME WITH THE UNDERWEAR.
TIME TO CHECK WHAT I WILL BRING TO CRAFT MORNING FOR HANDWORK. I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING READY SO I MAY JUST BRING MY CROCETED DISH CLOTHS ONCE AGAIN. THEY ARE MORE USEFUL TO ME AS WASH CLOTHS THO THEY STRETCH A LOT WHEN IN USE. STILL, THEY GET THE JOB DONE.
MY TARGET ORDER COMES TODAY. IT INCLUDES MY NEW OVER-THE-DOOR SHOE RACK FOR MY PAPER PRODUCTS. I CAN TOSS THE PRESENT ONE WHICH I HAVE TAPED WITH DUCT TAPE TO LAST A BIT LONGER. IT WORKED ITS MAGIC BUT I WANT A NEW ONE.
I AM OFF TO WALK MY LAPS LADIES. I ALWAYS FEEL BETTER FOR THE DAY WHEN I HAVE DONE THAT.
STAY SAFE AND ENJOY YOUR DAY. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Yes, Mary Lou, we try to consolidate our errand running, too but, I'm only good for 2, maybe 3 stops, and I have Howard driving, almost always, now. That's how bad my ability to get in and out of the car and walk is. Seven is a lot in one day, but it feels so good when they're done with and you're set for awhile. Enjoy your day at home and the sewing. ![]()
QB, that's the problem Andrew has--the cost and inconvenience of doing laundry at his apt. bldg. So, when he takes his car back to Chicago, he always brings all his laundry back out here to his folks and uses their machines. He lives near the Cubs' Wrigley Field and you can't get a parking permit if there's a game, which is almost every day. That's one of the reasons he travels back and forth on the South Shore electric train. The drill is: when it's laundry time, he comes home on the SS, gets his car, drives it to back to his apt. Then, he gathers his laundry, comes out here washes and dries it, then drives it back to Chicago, brings the car back out here and takes the train back and does without his car for awhile. Nutty, isn't it? That will end (I think) when he finally gets his IL driver's license which he seems to need, also, to get a parking permit. ML and Bill just shake their heads, but you know...He's an adult, now...supposedly! ![]()
It's fairly quiet here on ODT, today. Guess everyone is enjoying summer, finally. I'm trying to figure out supper. Was going to stick a whole chicken in the crockpot, but I have some lovely MI asparagus that I need to fix and am thinking of wrapping it in thin ham slices for tonight. I believe you might put a hollandaise sauce on it but I've NEVER made hollandaise and I know it can be tricky and I don't have a lemon!! ![]()
Howard is doing well. We took off the dressing this morning as instructed. It looks icky but not wrong. It's very tender but he's not needing to take any pain meds. Only took 2 Ibuprofen the first night. He's fairly good for sitting around and watchine TV or reading or napping. ![]()
So, I'm off to check out some out U-tubes and do whatever...![]()

Dee is here grooming Gracie. Gracie is not feeling well again so we’ll see how this goes. She threw up yellow bile twice this morning so no treats and only a little dry food. I had not told Dee about the September cruise, but she will be available to babysit for me.
I bought a clothes rack for my closet that I need for pants. Yes, something else to put together, lol. I hope it fits next to my other shelf unit.
I have decided my two days to run around will be Tuesday and Thursday. Sometimes I don’t want to go anywhere, but it’s better to get out if you can. I will make it happen.

Bad news from Florida yesterday. My sister in law Morgan was put into hospice. She’s been getting chemo for lung cancer for a while, and had a major setback.
AC back on, 90’s today and humidity is rising.
Offline
Holly, so sorry for the sad news.
Gracie looks great after grooming. I told Dee I didn't know what to do when I lost Gracie, as she's my last fur baby. She said, I can bring Millie over to visit with you. That really touched my heart. I thought that was the sweetest, kindest offer. She only grooms two dogs now and Gracie is one of them.
Linda, I will get your email address from our address list.
Sandra, this is the last storage unit I will be buying. I want my pants in my closet with my blouses and I only have one long rack in this "master" closet. I have pants in a guest closet I haven't been able to wear. Will try some of those on later this year.
I'll put this shelf unit together after lunch and watch tv. Don't plan on leaving the house today. Have plenty of food, so no cooking.
I tried a new crockpot recipe from You Tube. It's called OMG Cube Steak and Gravy. I'll post it later on the recipe thread. I'll definitely make it again.

SANDRA enjoy your visit with Matt and I know he will enjoy his soup, so sorry you lost all $6, that's a lot
maybe next time will be a winner! Looking forward to seeing your projects.
DEVONNE poor little Gracie, I hope the meds help her. I just saw a calming blanket/jacket for dogs at Aldi next week, Megan will look into it for Oscar, he's a little stress ball, he gets anxious all the time.
HOLLY I am so sorry for the news, and I hope hospice helps her - they are amazing, that's hot for you!!
STRINGS wow!!! already 2. my gosh how did that happen, hoary birthday to him!!
INDY getting laundry done is hard when you don't have room, I know that Chalon is struggling at her dad's, there was piles of washing everywhere when I called in the other day, he doesn't have a dryer, and with just him usually it has always been OK, but with Chal and the kids the washing has piled up, I wanted to get it form her and take it to a laundromat, but she didn't;t want me to. Hoping that H is still doing well, and that he isn't uncomfortable, funny you trying to dress him, I have the same trouble when W has to dressed after a procedure, far easier to dress children than men LOL
MARYLOU I don't have errands like that, usually just shopping, bills are paid online and sometimes if I do any personal shopping, or getting my hair cut or nails done?? What kind of errands do you have?
We have been trying to get organised - leaving on Tuesday after the funeral, which is not gong to be good, I just wish the timing was better - but we have to e there on Wed, and it's al long drive.
It's not a good situation, we have learnt more, and he has left a mess, and has been in trouble for a while, he was in hospital after trying to suicide a few weeks before he died, but somehow the hospital allowed him home, his sister told them she would stay with him, but she didn't, so she will have to live with that, he has lied to many people and with all different stories.
I need to get moving, the Mr has decided to get new underwear, of course he decides now, I could have got them earlier, but now it's a special trip. Honestly!!!!, plus he found 3 old bowls shirts packed away, not allowed to wear them in competition, but they ended up in the wash too GRRR!!!
I want some time out LOL

Water truck (for the pool) came at 6:30 am! They were supposed to to come yesterday but called at 6 to say they were running late. Then at 8 pm they called to say they weren’t coming and would be here at 6:30 and they were. DH didn’t really expect them but we heard them coming down the road and jumped out of bed. I ran out in pjs and boots. lol.
It’s been one of those weeks. I ordered a new foot control pedal for my beloved older Pfaff. But it’s not the pedal …. Must be inside the machine? Now I have to take it to a Pfaff dealer (closest one is 1 1/2 hrs each way) for him to check it out.
I’m willing to put up to about $900-1000 to repair it IF there’s some kind of guarantee. I have several others but this is my favorite. I have a new Bernina which I’ve never used and a new Pfaff that I finally took out of the box and have played around with.
Allergies are awful this morning. We are in a drought around here. Hot …upper 80’s to 90’s the next few days.

Trish, my errands the other day were: drop off a quilt I donated to Quilts of Valor, pick up my sewing machine after it was serviced, buy a couple of plants for my front flower bed, get some artificial flowers to put on my parents graves, go back to LQS to get the thread that I forgot when I was there earlier, fill up the gas tank, stop at cemetery to put flowers on graves. I, too, pay almost all bills online. My most common errands are grocery shopping and picking up prescriptions.
On my day at home Thursday, I was quite lazy and did almost nothing except some sewing. Yesterday I had exercise class, did a bit of laundry and finished the kid’s quilt that I will be donating along with several others already done.

WHOLLY UNHOLY BLOOPERS.......
1. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE CHILDREN AND DON'T KNOW IT, WE HAVE A NURSERY DOWNSTAIRS.
2. THE REV. MERRIWETHER SPOKE BRIEFLY, MUCH TO THE DELIGHT OF THE AUDIENCE.
WE'RE EXPECTNG OUR RAIN BY TONITE BUT TEMPS ARE STAYING IN THE 60S-70S THE NEXT DAY OR TWO. THAT'S MORE LIKE OUR EARLY JUNE TEMPS.
HOLLY.....SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR SIL MORGAN. PRAYERS AND POSITIVE THOUGHTS FOR HER AND HER FAMILY.
MARYLOU.......WE CAN'T PUT ARTIFICIAL FLOWERS ON GRAVES IN OUR CEMETARYS. THEY CHANGED THAT RULE OVER 20 YEARS AGO. LIVE ONES IN POTS OR PLANTED ARE JUST FINE. THERE WAS TOO MUCH TRASH TO BE COLLECTED BEFORE WINTER. NOT GOOD SINCE ITS NOT COMPOSTABLE.
JANET.....NOW YOU CAN GO SWIMMING AND COOL OFF ON THE HOT DAYS YOU GET IN THE SOUTH.
I PLAN TO MAKE 2 WHS FROM THE TEACUPS AND TEAPO BLOCKS. ONE FOR MY DAUGHTER WITH 6 SQUARES AND ONE FOR MYSELF. SHE ALREADY CHOSE THE BLOCKS SHE WANTS SO THAT IS ANOTHER PROJECT I NEED TO GET TO AND FINISH.
I SET UP MY OVER-DOOR SHOE RACK FOR PAPER PRODUCTS. ITS GREAT. STURDY MATERIAL. THE OTHER I CUT BACK TO WHAT WAS USABLE AND NOW I HAVE A SMALLER RACK INSIDE MY BATHROOM CLOSET DOOR. IT WILL DO FOR ITEMS I USE OFTEN, LIKE COUGH DROPS, SOAPS, LOTIONS, ETC.
MY SON SHOPS FOR ME TODAY. I MADE THE CHICKEN AND RICE SOUP YESTERDAY AND ENJOYED ONLY A HALF BOWL LAST NITE, SINCE I PLANNED TO HAVE SOME SNACKS WATCHING TV. KEPT MY MEAL SMALL. WE WILL HAVE SOME SOUP TOGETHER FOR LUNCH TODAY AND HE CAN TAKE SOME HOME ALONG WITH THE ITALIAN SANDWICHES I MAKE FOR HIM AND HIS SWEET WIFE. I HOPE HE GETS ME SOME CORN ON THE COB AND SOME WATERMELON THIS WEEK. ITS ON MY LIST. AND CHICKEN TENDERS FOR MY SUPPER TONITE. I WILL PROBABLY HAVE THAT WITH SALAD.
CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE DIFFERENT. MY USUAL SATURDAY COMMENCES. I AM TRYING TO READ MORE SO I CAN FINISH THIS RITA MAE BROWN BOOK. I REALLY LIKE THIS ONE. AND MY JIGSAW PUZZLE IS CALLING ME. I WOULD LOVE TO FINISH IT AND START A NEW ONE.
STAY SAFE MY FRIENDS. ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Marylou, your shopping sounds like me. It's mostly grocery shopping, going to Goodwill and I "hit" some of the other stores in Hiram if my back holds up. Those are Ross for Less, Marshalls and Home Goods. I also pay all of my bills on my Iphone. Two are automatic withdrawals, which I hate, but my supplemental plan and AT&T were a must.
Have you ever heard not to hang family pictures in your bedroom? I have never heard that before until I watched a YT video. Somehow it takes away the peace and tranquility and can interfere with your sleep.
I placed my last shopping order with Amazon today for two more blouses and some different colors of watch bands. My Apple watch is in the drawer. I love the Amazfit Greg gave me. It stays charged for days.
I got the shelf unit put together. It's not as sturdy as I would like and I didn't like how the shelves went together, but I love I have a place to hang my pants now.
Today is wash bed linens day. The comforter is in the washer now. Sheets and mattress topper will be next. Then tv for the rest of the day.
