Re: ODT SUNDAY MAY 17 ~ SAT MAY 23

Evening all!! It's nearly bed time, I have been watching some old Midsomer Murders, I do love those old ones, implied violence and some great actors.
Just saw the one with Richard Brierly, he was in a series with Felicity Kendall - The Good Life.

SANDRA hope you got your potato pancakes, they always sound so good!! It's the same here, the used clothing etc stores are really expensive, makes me mad, especially since they are donated usually. I  offer things on our neighbourhood facebook now, they get taken quickly.

HOLLY big congrats to Eddie following in the family footsteps, he's done well!

DEVONNE I think our Aldi only has the kraut when they do the German food, I will check next time I go.

IND I hope the surgery goes well for H - I thought he might need more time to heal, I saw Nancy Birtwhistle had hers done ( British lady has lots of "green" cooking/cleaning tips ) and she was out of action for a couple weeks, with some physio. I hadn't heard of it before that. It would be vey uncomfortable.

Nothing happening here, The Mr won his finals yesterday, and now the team will head north in August, same weekend as I do quilt camp AND same as Pete's birthday. So we will need to do a birthday dinner the night before, I also booked our one night stay for our drive north in June. It's coming up fast!

I had my RSV vax and our lovely nurse informed me I need to get my shingles one again, it's THAT time again, that one hurts LOL - she's already warned me.

The boys didn't come to dinner with us, they opted for Uber Eats, much to their mothers disgust, she had freezer meals for them, they also got Uber for lunch and John got them each a tub of their own ice cream when he was at work on Sat night,  just to top it all off LOL

I've been hunting through fabric for cutting into strips for my camp project, they need to be 2" ones, I need lights and medium. Not darks for this one, It's just like a diagonal log cabin, looks about 60Deg block, so cute, and mindless sewing for camp, I just need to sew on the line, I bought all the papers from Jen Kingwell Designs, It's called Trentham, I like the name as well, it was Maggie Smith's name in Gosford Park, I love that movie, lots of good actors in that one, British movie. I think it came with 115 papers, it's flimsy stuff, like the old thin bankers paper we used to use for foundation. I guess I just make as many blocks as I want. I can always copy more.

See you later, have a wonderful Sunday everyone

Re: ODT SUNDAY MAY 17 ~ SAT MAY 23

SIGNS OF THE TIMES.......
1.  IN A VESTRY OF A NEW ENGLAND CHURCH:  WILL THE LAST PERSON TO LEAVE PLEASE SEE THAT THE PEREPETUAL LIGHT IS EXTINGUISHED.
2.  IN A PENNSLVANIA CEMETERY:  PERSONS ARE PROHIBITED FROM PICKING THE FLOWERS FROM ANY BUT THEIR OWN GRAVES.

ITS WARMER TODAY THAN YESTERDAY AND TOMORROW MAY HIT 90*F.  THAT'S UNHEARD OF IN MY NECK OF THE WOODS, AT LEAST UNTIL A FEW DAYS IN SUMMER HERE AND THERE.

TRISH.......CONGRATS TO HUBBY FOR MAKING THE FINALS.  I KNOW HE WORKS HARD AT THE GAME.
AND THE BOYS GETTING UBER EATS.  THEY JUST DIDN'T WANT TO BOTHER YOU GRAM.  NOW THAT'S THOUGHTFUL.
I HAVE A STORY ABOUT RICHARD BRIERLY AND THE MIDSOMER MURDER HE DID.  JOYCE, IN AN INTERVIEW, TOLD THAT HE SAID TO HER HE WOULD NOT BLINK AT ALL IN THE LAST SCENES HE PLAYED IN THAT SHOW.  AND NOW WHEN IT RERUNS, I ALWAYS LOOK FOR HIS NON-BLINKING SCENES.  I ALSO HAVE THE SERIES THE GOOD MATCH ON DVDs.  ANOTHER FAVORITE.

DEVONNE.......GOSH, YOU HAVE BEEN VERY BUSY WITH YOUR REORGANIZING IN HOME, OUTSIDE PLANTING AND THE HOLES YOU ENCOUNTERED.  YOU MUST BE GETTING TIRED OF ALL THAT WORK YOU'VE BEEN DOING.  AT LEAST YOU WILL KNOW YOU ARE IN GOOD SHAPE WHEN YOU ARE DONE AND YOU CAN START RELAXING AND ENJOYING YOUR SPRING AND SUMMER.

LINDA.......I HOPE YOU ARE DOING OKAY AND ARE ABLE TO CHECK IN AT LEAST TO READ ODT DAILY.  YOU HAVE TOUGH DAYS NOW AND THEN THAT MUST BE TIRING.  HUGS GIRL.

FOR THOSE HEALING, MY POSITIVE THOUGHTS ARE WINGING THEIR WAY TO YOU DAILY.  HUGS.

I ORDERED 7 JIGSAW PUZZLES YESTERDAY.  6 ARE A SERIES OF BYGONE DAYS AND THE 7TH IS A BUNCH OF SNOWMEN.  I WANTED AT LEAST ONE WITH A WINTER SCENE.  THIS LOT IS MY BIG EXPENSE FOR THIS QUARTER AND I SPENT IT ON MY OWN ENJOYMENT. THESE PUZZLES WILL NOT GET SENT TO GOODWILL.  ALL ARE 18" BY 24" IN 300 PIECES.   I WILL KEEP THEM IN MY CLOSET AND REWORK THEM NOW AND THEN.
I NEVER MADE THE PANCAKES ONCE AGAIN.  I WAS SO BUSY CUTTING, PINNING, SEWING THAT IT WAS SUPPERTIME BEFORE I STOPPED SO TOO LATE FOR GRATING TATERS.  TODAY I PLAN TO MAKE THEM FOR LUNCH WITH ENOUGH FOR LEFTOVERS.  IF MADE EARLY ENOUGH, I WON'T HAVE THE EXCUSE THAT I DOZED OFF.  THIS WAY I HAVE NO EXCUSE NOT TO MAKE THEM.
ITS MY DAY OF REST LADIES AND I TAKE THAT SERIOUSLY.  OR AT LEAST, I ONLY DO THINGS I FEEL LIKE DOING.  TODAY THAT MAY JUST BE WATCHING TV, READING A NEW BOOK I AM ENJOYING, AND MAKING FOOD FOR MY TUMMY.  I MAY PULL OUT SOME WIPS I HAVE IN A CONTAINER.  I THINK I HAVE SEVERAL HAND-EMBROIDERED TEA CUPS THAT I NEED TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO WITH.  MAYBE A SMALL WALLHANGING OR TWO WITH 4 IN A CLUSTER TOGETHER. ITS A THOUGHT.
STAY SAFE AND ENJOY YOUR SUNDAY LADIES.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY MAY 17 ~ SAT MAY 23

Afternoon y'all!

We have been busy.  I, of course, did not do the next part of the probate right.  I never get it right the first time.  I stopped by the bank and made the right changes, and will go back this week.  After this I may be able to distribute the funds!  I hope so.

We went to see the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, last night.  They were doing movie themes.  Great concert, we got supper on the way and ate it in the car once we got there.  First time at the Amphitheatre, Perfect evening for it, nice cool breeze, and not hot or humid!  We enjoyed it!

We have already gone to church, to the park to take the most important one on a walk, then home.  We discovered 2 ticks on him, they are off and headed to wherever ticks go when they die!  We did not walk long, since it was getting hot and his tongue was almost dragging the ground.  We did give him several water breaks.  He's a tired pup right now.

We have still not put on heat or A/C, since March I think!  Today is going to be a hot one.  I have closed all the windows, and puppy's door is also closed.  I am doing laundry, load one is in the dryer and load 2 is waiting in the wing.  We have that window open, but the door is closed, so the dryer heat will hopefully not heat things up.

I ordered 2 dresses, from Old Navy.  I had to order to get the low price.  I did order to store, so I could pick up and try them on.  Had a bear of a time trying to change my CC on the site to the current one, until I realized the WiFi was down!  So I did the share thing with the phone, and it's working!

Todd and Alex are heading to the Braves Game.  Just me and Simba!

I am almost done with my FQ challenge for the COF Retreat.  I have never finished a project this far in advance.  I am usually working on it all the way up to the retreat!  Carol can verify that one!

I have done the dots on everything for the Bicentennial Quilt. (Y Seams) Next I have to sew the white to the stars.  The white is very shear, I am surprised.  I will get a muslin to go behind the top, the other fabrics are not shear but not tight like current quilt fabrics.  I think a muslin would help it.

That's everything from my little corner of the world.

Later my Friends!

Re: ODT SUNDAY MAY 17 ~ SAT MAY 23

Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday!

Theresa, I didn't turn on the a/c all last week because I knew this coming week was going to be much hotter. I've been using ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom. I turned the a/c on last night and it sure felt good!

Sandra, you don't know the whole story, lol. I've had hip pain the last few days, only on the right side. The first hip pain I've ever had in my life. I had to force myself to get out there and put those pavers down. I still have two holes to do and need more stone pavers. I have the cutest  little cart that has two rollers and it's wonderful for moving heavy things like these pavers and bags of soil. I need to keep moving!

Re: ODT SUNDAY MAY 17 ~ SAT MAY 23

You are all giving me a giggle, I am turning my A/C onto heat all this week, it's been on a few hours tonight, and a few in the morning as well, it's getting colder here, and I do like it LOL

I had a busy day, got my nails done, then did a big shop, in store this time as I had a voucher for $15 and it wasn't my local store so took me a while, I had to spend $100 to use it, I did overspend, but it won't go astray.

DEVONNE I have been very lazy the last few weeks, the back ache took some time to get over, and I ma now getting back to normal. It takes time to get rid of those annoying aches and pains doesn't it??

HOLLY are they  home yet?? a layover in London is great we usually spend a few days there if we need to stop at all, I love Liberty London and wandering Regent and Oxford streets. And we both love the museums, and I have wanted to go to Greenland for ages! Or did you say Iceland? rotten memory I have.

THERESA wow!! almost done, we hope to be done too very soon, takes a few weeks for probate to get done here, and the forms went to the Supreme Court last week - we hope anyway. I'd love to see your COF challenge when you are able to show it.

SANDRA I didn't know that about Richard Brierly, he was so good in the part and now I think about it he was very direct looking into the camera the last scenes, I love The Good Life, the whole cast was good in that, another favourite is As Time Goes By, I can watch Judi Dench all day. Her timing is incredible.

INDY  is H OK, has he had the surgery yet?? Wish him well from me!!

It's drizzling again here, I have training in the morning, the Mr has bowls, he had an injection in his heel today, our Dr fitted him in, he cancelled his appt for Wed as he wants to play in a tournament - again - honestly,  he just won't organise himself, he really needs to take care of his health, but I can't make him. Leo (Dr) told him to come back in a couple weeks if it's not good (heel) but I know he won't LOL he will just gripe about it for a few weeks again. It better be right for our trip, won't be fun playing with a bad heel. MEN!!!

I will pick up Dean early tomorrow and Wed, he loves these early days, I suspect he isn't doing as much study as he could be with the free time but that is not my call, his mother and father need to light a fire under him, John will do it if they don't LOL He did get quite a good report last week, but we all know he could do a lot better. He just cruises along, very, very smart boy, but relies on that too much, he needs to learn to study properly. Bit late now though.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MAY 17 ~ SAT MAY 23

STOP THE PRESSES!
1.  LE LECHE LEAGUE WILL DISCUSS BREAST FEEDING AT TWO MEETINGS----TUESDAY IN THE WEST SIDE AND THURSDAY IN THE EAST SIDE.
2.  CITIZENS OF SANTA BARBARA COUNTY ARE FACED WITH A TAX RISE.  MOST OF THE MONEY RAISED WOULD BE USED FOR FIVE FOOT POLICEMEN.

THERE'S A DELAY IN OUR HEAT DAY.  IT SEEMS TOMORROW WILL HIT 90, ONLY 60S TODAY.

TRISH.....SPEAKING OF JUDI DENCH, WE GET AS TIME GOES BY EVERY SATURDAY NITE ON ONE OF OUR PBS STATIONS NOW ALONG WITH KEEPING UP APPEARANCES.  I NEVER MISS THEM.  THEN ON OVATION CHANNEL, WE GET, 4 MIDSOMER MURDER MOVIES A WEEK, TWO ON TWO DIFFERENT NITES AND THEY ARE REPEATED LATER IN THE NITE.  I REWATCH THOSE OVER AND OVER.  THEY ARE BEST MYSTERIES THAT I LOVE THE MOST.  AM I LUCKY OR WHAT.

I FINISHED ANOTHER LADY YESTERDAY, LADY NANETTE, IN HER PINK GOWN.  THIS ONE FOR MY NEIGHBOR DOWN THE HALL.  SHE LOVES PINK AND HER BATHROOM IS PINK.  SHE ALSO USES SEVERAL ITEMS BY NANETTE DE SOMETHING, LIKE LOTIONS, ETC. SO PINK LADY NANETTE FOUND A HOME.
ITS YOGURT THIS MORNING.  I MADE THE POTATO PANCAKES  FOR SUPPER LAST NITE FINALLY, WHICH MADE MY NEIGHBOR VERY HAPPY.  I STILL HAVE ENOUGH FOR A MEAL LEFTOVER.  THEN ANOTHER NEIGHBOR GAVE ME A 4-PACK OF WHITE ALBACORE TUNA.  SHE OFTEN SHARES FOODSTUFF WITH ME THAT I CAN USE IN MEALS AND CASSEROLES.  OF COURSE, I WILL MAKE ENOUGH TO SEND A CONTAINER OF TUNA SALAD HOME TO HER.    SOME FOLKS LIKE THEIR SANDWICHES IN ROLLS, OTHERS WHITE BREAD OR TOASTED AND OTHER BREADS.  SHE CAN CHOOSE WHAT SHE LIKES.
I WILL HAVE TO CHECK ON MY LATEST JIGSAW TO SEE IF ANYONE HAS FINISHED IT YET.  IF NOT, I MAY WORK ON IT MYSELF.  THERE ARE A FEW OTHER PUZZLES AWAITING THEIR TURN ON MY PUZZLE BOARD.  I AM ALSO EAGER TO GET MY LATEST ORDER SOON.

WELL, I GUESS I AM DONE FOR THIS MORNING.  TALK TO YOU TOMORROW.  HUGS LADIES, QB S

PS.  I ADDED TWO POSTS TO MY QUILTCRAFTER BLOG.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MAY 17 ~ SAT MAY 23

In the upper 90’s for the next few days, AC is chugging along.

Trish they had a day in Iceland, and got home Saturday evening.

We have a pinhole leak in our water pipe, on the yard side. Plumbers will be out Wednesday to dig up the yard and fix it.

I’ve been watching season 2 of The Pitt on HBO max. Pretty realistic.

Nothing much else going on.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MAY 17 ~ SAT MAY 23

IT'S TRUE.......
1.  I USED TO BE ABLE TO DO CARTWHEELS.  NOW I TIP OVER PUTTING ON MY UNDERWEAR.
2.  I URGE YOU TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AND AVOID ACCIDENTS, BECAUSE SPARE PARTS FOR OLD MODELS LIKE US ARE NO LONGER IN STOCK.

ITS ALREADY 80* HERE.  EXPECT TO HIT 90* LATER WITH ANOTHER HOTTY TOMORROW.  I AM SO GLAD I GOT MY A/C IN WHEN I DID.  SOME ARE ON THE LIST FOR LATER THIS WEEK.  YIKES.  OUR COMMON AREAS ARE AIR CONDITIONED SO THOSE THAT ARE HOT CAN GATHER IN THE COMMON ROOM.

HOLLY......IT WAS SO NICE TO SEE PICS OF THE RECENT GRADUATE.  CONGRATS EDDIE!  AND WITH HONORS, TOO.  HOW NICE TO HAVE NURSES IN 3 GENERATIONS.  GOOD FOR YOU ALL.

I URGE ALL OF YOU WHO DO NOT ALREADY HAVE A BLOG, TO GET YOURSELF ONE.  IT'S EASY AND FREE.  GO TO BLOGSPOT.COM TO START YOUR OWN.  THEN YOU CAN POST PICS SO EASILY.  YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO TO ANOTHER SITE TO RESIZE THEM.  THE BLOG SITE RESIZES THEM AS NEEDED TO POST ON YOUR BLOG.  ITS IDEAL IF YOU WANT TO SHARE YOUR QUILT PROJECTS OR YOUR PET PICTURES OR FAMILY OUTINGS.  ITS THUMBS-UP IN MY BOOK.

A NEIGHBOR KINDLY BROUGHT ME HALF OF HER HOT APPLE PIE LAST NITE.  I AM SORRY TO REPORT, I INDULGED. IT SEEMS THAT SO MANY HERE NOW SHARE WITH ONE ANOTHER.  I GUESS I STARTED SOMETHING GOOD WHEN I BROUGHT MEALS TO MY 90-YEAR OLD NEIGHBOR AFTER SHE CAME HOME FROM HOSPITAL.  THAT WAS ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO I THINK.  IT BUILT UP TO WHERE I NOW SHARE A CASSEROLE WITH 3 OR 4 FOLKS AT A TIME.  I ALSO HAVE THOSE THAT FAVOR MY POTATO PANCAKES OR MY SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS OR MY SOUPS.   NOW THOSE THAT I SHARE WITH BRING ME ITEMS NOW AND THEN, LIKE THIS PIE.  MMMM GOOD.
IN SEWING MATTERS, I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THE LAST TWO LADIES FOR MY NEIGHBORS.  I SHOULD HAVE THEM FINISHED THIS WEEK.  THEN IT WILL BE FAMILY LADIES OR THE TEACUPS AND TEAPOTS OR MY PINK DRAGON OR......YOU GET MY DRIFT.  THERE ARE ALSO THE BOY DRAGON AND THE RABBIT AND MOUSE SLEDDING DOWN A SLOPE TO FINISH BEFORE WINTER.  GOSH, I HAVE SO MANY IDEAS AND DRAWINGS I WANT TO MAKE INTO WALL HANGINGS. I SHOULD BE TWINS.
WELL, ITS BEEN A QUIET WEEKEND ACCORDING TO THIS BOARD.  I FINISHED ANOTHER JIGSAW PUZZLE YESTERDAY AND READ IN THE COMMON ROOM TO KEEP ANOTHER PUZZLER COMPANY.  SHE WAS DOING A DIFFERENT PUZZLE.  WE KEEP 2 GOING AT ALL TIMES.  ONE IN 300 PIECES AND ANOTHER IN 500 OR 550 PIECES. SOMETIMES 750.  YIKES, NOT FOR ME.
EVERYONE HERE MUST HAVE BEEN BUSY WITH FAMILY AND SPRING THINGS.  LETS HEAR FROM YOU THIS WEEK LADIES.

OFF TO DO MY LAPS.  BE SAFE.  ENJOY YOUR DAY.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY MAY 17 ~ SAT MAY 23

Holly, congrats to Eddie for his degree as well as the additional honor.  Empathy and caring is certainly needed for nursing.

It is hot and humid.  Today reached 88 degrees but it is supposed to storm overnight and only reach 54 for a high tomorrow!  Such a change.  At least it is not tornados like Nebraska had yesterday.

Dean and I planted a few geraniums, petunias and a zinnia in large pots on my front porch as well as along the walk way.  That is all I am planting this year as we do not know what our schedule will be like with Dean's treatments and upcoming bone marrow transplant.  Plants in pots must be watered regularly.

We had Gabriel and Amelia after school today so Gabriel could mow our lawn.  He is 17 now and is doing a great job mowing on the riding mower.  He just learned how a couple weeks ago.  Amelia asked for Chinese takeout for supper, so we did that.  WOW, it has gotten expensive.  I think it is cheaper to go to a sit down restaurant now.  It was $75 for the four of us just for take out.

Nothing else to say.  Thinking of you all.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MAY 17 ~ SAT MAY 23

It looks like some of you are having record high temps, but the good thing for most of you, you will get cooler temps. No cooler temps here in the South. I am hopeful we might get some rain the next few days.

Linda, I'm glad you were able to get a break. Hugs!

Today was Carter's last day as an 8th grader. He and Greg are flying to Orlando tomorrow for vacation. It's hard to believe he's headed to HS.

Tomorrow is Caleb's 9th birthday. They bought an above ground pool, so I got him two floats and toys for the pool.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MAY 17 ~ SAT MAY 23

Sorry!  I've been MIA again!  Life (which is always good!) has been extremely busy!

Mom had surgery to fuse her ankle last Wednesday, and is doing fairly well, especially considering her age. She sees the surgeon tomorrow, and hopefully will be non-weight bearing for just one more week.
My wrist continues to heal, and I am confident it will be back to normal quickly once I ditch the custom orthotic!  The doctor says it will be a few more weeks before we talk about that, so until then, I'll be patient.

Hubby and I recently celebrated 50 years of "dating," and he continues to amaze me!  I'd love another 50 years together! ❤️

I hope you are well, and you remain in my daily thoughts and prayers.

Cheryl, prayers continue for Dean for you, and for your family!

Devonne,  wow!  The grands are growing up quickly!

I had more to say, but there goes the phone

Re: ODT SUNDAY MAY 17 ~ SAT MAY 23

SANDRA good idea for the blog, I do have one set up, I will try to remember what and how tomorrow!! I know the account is still there plus I know the webpage for us here I set up a long time ago is still there, I check it occasionally, I remember setting it up when we had to move last time, but Ashley had this one running sooner. Good to have a 'spare' anyway LOL
Lucky you with all those shows to watch, I will check out your ladies.

DEVONNE wow, already high temps and his birthday 9?? how can that be!! , I remember Carter too being so small and going away with you - good luck with the pool we had one for many years, they do take a lot of work!!

CHERYL I know!! Our Chinese is always well over $100 when it's all 7 of us, but there is always leftovers, and the boys devour them. So good to hear the kids are helping out, and good idea on the flowers, can you find some things that don't need attention, I have my garden set to mostly not need me, I only need to water if it's been really, really hot, I let it survive and it has, my neighbour waters hers every day LOL her garden expects it now!

HOLLY that is hot weather early, I hope ours isn't like that when we get to summer, it's getting quite cold here - for us LOL I know it doesn't compare to what you guys are used to.

STRINGS so happy for you that you got a little break, dealing with all you do you need it, maybe you can set up one day at least every few weeks, or a weekend a month??

DIANE good to hear the surgery went well, she will take time to heal and get walking again, you can get a knee scooter for her to use, goo news on your wrist too!!

Nothing happening here! I picked up my little brat again, he is spoilt! I know the days of getting him are ending, so I don't mind, it's time for us to talk, and he tells me all sorts of things LOL

I still haven't got back to sewing, and I need to  do that, I have my class coming up on Friday and Sunday. I need to figure out what to pack for it. I also have a voucher for the store, I might find something to tempt me!
I am happy that I have stayed the same weight - give or take 1/2 a pound - since December, I am totally amazed and very thankful - I had put on too much and it took a bit of getting off, but it's stayed off!!! I hope I can keep it off when we go away, hard to do as we eat out every night, and have a wine often as well, I need to be careful LOL
I have training in the morning, it's quite cold when we start but we warm up quickly, it was only 8C this morning, I expect it to be a bit warmer than that when we start, but we'll be in t-shirts sweating before too long!!

Re: ODT SUNDAY MAY 17 ~ SAT MAY 23

Hi.    I typed a medium-sized post to you/all yesterday and in the end, it disappeared   Food for supper was ready so I had to abandon it.

Howard's hand surgery is not until June 2.  It's elective and he's not too troubled but wants to get it fixed as the 2 cortisone injections didn't completely work.  He'll only be lightly anesthesized but will need a driver--me!  Thanks for remembering and asking.  You're the best.

He had a derm. appt. on Monday and a retinologist appt. yesterday.  Good news is, his macular degeneration is the dry kind in both eyes.  Our other doctor said his R. eye had developed WET m.d.  No treatment for dry other than the special vitamins (which he's been taking) and diet-- fish, greens, that might be beneficial.  That office was like a beehive and when I mentioned that, was told all retina clinics are like that.  Evidently due to the volume of pts. they see.

Today and tomorrow, we are home.  Friday is our small group again and this time I'm "excused" from bringing anything...hallelujah!!    Sorry for that but I haven't had that break for many times, not that I'm not willing.  It's just nice to get to go empty-handed this time.

Andrew is coming home for the long weekend.  He's finally through with busy (tax) season, his vacation and the Indian wedding that was on Mother's Day weekend.  His mother is overjoyed, and this grandma just wants to set eyes on him and touch him.  Ironically, he's only 50 miles away, now, and we see less of him than when he was 150 miles.

We want our family kids to grow up but there's always a tiny bit of melancholy, at how quickly that happens, at least there is for me.  I cherish the years when Andrew came home with us from church, he and Mom.  We usually picked up Subways for lunch and while Mom and Fancy slept in the recliner, he and I caught up, snickered at them and just hung out.  Howard was always up in his room at that time.  And, just that quick, it was over and he had other "fish to fry".
Carter in high school...OMG!   And all the others, one by one, growing up on us.  Some, now, are  young adults...  But, I know we're all glad and happy for that...

QB, your ladies are lovely.  And the tea cups.  What serendipity for you to have found them after so long.  I know you'll pick just the right thing to finish them.

I need to go and get busy.  Think I'll use some l/o pork chops from lasts night and work up a stew for supper, maybe with rice in it.
Have a nice rest of the day and sweet dreams, tonight.
Indy

Re: ODT SUNDAY MAY 17 ~ SAT MAY 23

Afternoon y'all!

Cheryl, eating out anywhere is expensive these days!

Got the next step of the probate done!  Now, to see if I can disburse the money and be done! I have another form I have to complete, and then I will be done with all of it.  It states I gave this heir this, the other heir that.  Hopefully it's easy!  hubby is making me copies of it today!

Today, was another phone call day.  I got one completed, the other had the voice mail was full.  Not good! I will try again soon.

I did do my walk, got my 10K steps for the day!

Yup, the A/C is on!  It has been on upstairs since I last posted, we turned the main level on yesterday, it did not come on.

Simba is on my bad list.  Hubby got up, started coffees, opened Simba's door, and Simba ran out and to the back fence and started barking incessantly, it's 6:45 in the morning.  I went down in my PJ's and called for him, he had selective hearing and ignored me.  I went back upstairs, got dressed, hubby beat me back down, and closed the door.  A couple hours later I let him back out and yup he went to the back fence and started again.  I had to go to the fence to get him.  I did not leave his door open while I went for my walk.  When I got home I let him out.  He did not last long outside as it is hot!

I am almost done with the FQ challenge.  I have a few more blocks to quilt and then sew the circles together.

Need to go and figure supper, and then upstairs to sew and keep trying to get a human on the phone.

Now you are caught up on my ever so exciting little corner of the world!

Later my Friends!

Re: ODT SUNDAY MAY 17 ~ SAT MAY 23

The plumbers got the water line replaced and upgraded, yay! Then a transformer blew, and we were without electric for about 2 hours, in a thunderstorm. It just came back on.

I’d be a terrible pioneer. I like my electric, WiFi, and running water. Not to mention my microwave and refrigerator.
