My goodness, I forgot to start threads, I wanted to do it during the week, I will do more later!!
Interesting about the hearing aids, the Mr has them, small ones from the audiologist, they were expensive, but our health fund paid 1/2, from memory they were over 3,500 they are tiny and are recharged in a small device every night, they are not molded ones, his sis had those, she was profoundly deaf. His can be monitored on his phone, the app for it will do lots of things apparently, I don't get involved. I will see if I can get a pic later, they are not even noticeable on his ears, you really have to look to see them they are so small.
Still catching up with legal stuff, the bank sent pages and pages on Friday, not necessary the solicitors have all that covered.
JANET that is very pretty and also beautifully done, it will be great to see the finish!!
HOLLY the new aids are expensive and they also do a check every 6 months, but they are worth it if you can afford it. I don't think ours have changed too much in a couple years, at that price they wouldn't want to LOL
SANDRA loved the funnies yesterday got a giggle out of them, I am so glad Matt still enjoys mum's cooking, and I agree you are very generous, with both your time and food. I hope your lady who is unwell recovers quickly.
It's Mothers Day here, not sure if it is the same there, I have been very spoilt, Pete is currently cooking dinner and Megan and Gary hosted brunch, it was really good too. Fruit (all kinds of mixed berries) and greek yoghurt, the bacon he cured himself, French toast and a lovely frittata as well as some small sweet cakes/tarts. Gary made made me a lovely coffee as well, and I also received some lovely gifts, tonight is meatballs and spaghetti and Pete also bought me some Prosecco, which I am enjoying right now.
We met with my sis and her family yesterday, fabulous to see all the kids. Her grandsons just adore their big cousins, and the boys take time to talk with them, even cuddling baby Fletcher, who is cute as!!
We also have made plans for a meeting with my brother, we will pick them up and drive them to lunch with just sis and I (and hubbies) he doesn't drive much now, and has a wheel chair for mobility.
I will continue to enjoy these bubbles, and make some new threads for the next few week tomorrow!!
the table is set beautifully with the good china - and candles LOL he has gone all out tonight!!

FROM DIANE, she must have been posting the same time as I did, and set up a thread so I moved it here!
Hi, ladies! Busy time, quick run through here.
Trying to get necessary surgery scheduled to repair Mom's ankle. She hoped to avoid it, but the surgeon called me Friday night and stressed the importance of getting it done ASAP because her ankle bone keeps shifting after the fracture.
My wrist is a bit worse off than first thought, but still not horrible, and I am managing.
Happy Mother's Day!

Glad your Mother’s Day was so nice! Today is Mother’s Day here. My DD and SonIL sent me a dozen roses.
My friend’s hearing aids do everything but clean the house, lol. Sound similar to what Trish described. They were thousands $.

STUDENT BLOOPERS.......
1. THE PYRAMIDS ARE A RANGE OF MOUNTAINS BETWEEN FRANCE AND SPAIN. THE EGYPTIANS BUILT THE PYRAMIDS IN THE SHAPE OF A HUGE TRIANGULAR CUBE.
2. THE BIBLE IS FULL OF INTERESTING CARICATURES. IN THE FIRST BOOK OF THE BIBLE, GUINESSIS, ADAM AND EVE WERE CREATED FROM AN APPLE TREE. ONE OF THEIR CHILDREN, CAIN, ASKED, "AM I MY BROTHER'S SON?"
IT'S 59 AND CLOUDY. EXPECTING SOME SHOWERS THIS AFTERNOON. I HOPE NOT UNTIL I TAKE OUT MINE AND 2 NEIGHBORS' TRASH AT NOON.
MY SON SHOPPED YESTERDAY AND ALSO BROUGHT ME A LOBSTER ROLL WITH A LARGE SIDE OF FRIES FOR MOTHER'S DAY. HE KNOWS HOW I LOVE THAT MEAL. I HAD IT FOR SUPPER BUT NOT ALL THE FRIES. THOSE I WILL FINISH OFF TODAY WITH SOME CHICKEN TENDERS HE BOUGHT, TOO. EGGS WERE ONLY 1.59 A DOZEN THIS WEEK. WHAT A CHANGE FROM A FEW MONTHS AGO. AND NEW YORK SIRLOIN ONLY 7.99 LB IN SALE SO I BOUGHT 2 LBS THIS WEEK.
I WORKED ON A JIGSAW PUZZLE YESTERDAY AND CHATTED WITH A NEIGHBOR. I ALSO SHARED SOME TATER TOT CASSEROLE WITH HER. MOST OF IT WENT HOME WITH MY SON ALONG WITH MOST OF THE VEGGIE BEEF SOUP AND A COUPLE OF TRIPLE ITALIAN SUBS. TRIPLE MEANS TRIPLE MEAT AND CHEESE. REGULAR DOSES OF THE ADDED VEGS.
DIANE.....SORRY ABOUT YOUR MOM HAVING TO NEED SURGERY. BEST GET IT DONE QUICKLY SO IT CAN HEAL SOONER.
TRISH......YES, OUR MOTHER'S DAY IS TODAY. RECEIVED MOTHER'S DAY WISHES FROM FAMILY AND FRIENDS ALL MORNING LONG. AT LEAST I DO NOT HAVE TO COOK TODAY. ITS TRULY A DAY OF REST. OOOPS, FORGOT. I HAVE TO SORT MY MEATS AND BAG THEM FOR THE FREEZER AND TAKE OUT THE TRASH. NOT VERY MUCH THO SO I CAN LIVE WITH IT. THE REST OF THE DAY I CAN DO NOTHING.
STAY SAFE AND ENJOY YOUR SPECIAL DAY LADIES. HUGS, QB S

Happy Mother's Day everyone. If you're not a Mom, happy pet day to you! They are our children too.
Dianne, so sorry to read your Mom will need surgery on her ankle. Sounds like you need to take it easy yourself until your wrist heals. Do you have a cast?
Yesterday was 7 years since DH passed. Hard to believe I've been a widow that long. It seems like 2 or 3 years at the most.
Thanks for all the info on hearing aids. The most I am hoping to spend is $2,000, plus tax of course. If it's more, I will need to wait. I am getting the Bluetooth one for sure so I can adjust the volume, etc. by my Iphone.

My roses.....

The pink roses have bloomed more this year than last year. My azaleas have bloomed once, but not very many blooms yet. They should bloom two more times this year.
I have a big problem I need to fix this week. A rabbit has dug a big hole under the fence, an armadillo has dug another hole and I have a huge hole from a water problem. Gary said fill them with pea gravel, but I was thinking concrete, lol. ![]()

Afternoon y'all! ![]()
I have been busy getting things together for the next chapter in my probate saga! This one seems to be straight forward. I have read and re-read the directions. Good thing since I found something I missed. I think I have it all together now. We have made the appointment, and hubby will make copies of everything, and go over it all tonight to make sure I have everything! ![]()
Weather has been wonderful here, a couple cool days and some rain, we need the rain! Today is warm, not hot! ![]()
Yesterday, was the first Mother's day that I didn't have to plan around my mom, kinda bitter sweet. I loved having Alex and Sara here, Luke called me and sent me texts. Sara and I went to see "The Devil Wears Prada 2" I am ready to see it again! Loved it! ![]()
Other than estate stuff and some sewing, I have years of not sewing to make up. My life is pretty boring. I do have to stop buying patterns, I probably will not make everything I have bought patterns for! ![]()
That is my little corner of the world. ![]()

Q. AND WHAT IS YOUR MARITAL STATUS?
A. FAIR.
2... Q. ARE YOU MARRIED?
A. NO, I'M DIVORCED.
Q. WHAT DID YOUR HUSBAND DO BEFORE YOU DIVORCED HIM?
A. A LOT OF THINGS THAT I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT.
ITS A LOVELY SUNSHINY DAY IN THE HIGH 50S. A WONDERFUL SPRING SO FAR THO WE STILL EXPECT FROSTS BEFORE JUNE 1ST.
I AM WAITING FOR THE BED BUG DOG TO DO ITS INSPECTION. THEY DO THIS EVERY YEAR. TO DATE I HAVE NOT HEARD OF ANYONE HERE EVER HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THOSE CRITTERS. IT ONLY TAKES A MINUTE FOR THEM TO SNIFF YOUR BEDDING AND 'ALERT' IF YOU HAVE THEM.
I FINISHED A JIGSAW PUZZLE YESTERDAY SO I WANT TO START ANOTHER TODAY. ITS A GREAT WAY TO SPEND SOME TIME.
I HEAR ONE OF OUR RESIDENTS WENT TO VISIT A FRIEND YESTERDAY WHO TOLD HER SHE HAD A TON OF PUZZLES TO GIVE US. I CAN HARDLY WAIT TO SEE WHAT SHE BROUGHT BACK.
A FEW CHORES TODAY AND I WILL MAKE UP SOME BURRITO MIX. IT MAKES FOR EASY MEALS. I HAVE A PORK CHOP TO FINISH TODAY FOR SUPPER ALONG WITH A SALAD AND CREAM CORN. THAT WILL DO NICELY FOR ME. LUNCH WILL BE A CAN OF SARDINES WITH CRACKERS. I AM EASILY PLEASED.
I MAY GET SOME SEWING DONE TODAY. THE CHORES ARE NOT DIFFICULT. ITS AN EASY DAY.
STAY SAFE AND ENJOY YOUR SPRING WEATHER MY FRIENDS. HUGS, QB S ![]()

It’s nice and sunny today. Manda has been sending us pix each day of their Italy trip.
We went to Olive Garden for lunch, and have plenty left for dinner. Nothing else going on.
Offline
I went to Home Goods to get a water pitcher. They are really slim and fit in my door. This one was made in Italy and I really like it. They had others I liked better, but too big for my door.
I ran into Goodwill to take a quick look and ran into a woman I used to work with in 2004. That's when the company closed the local office. She didn't know who I was and called me Mary. I still don't think she knew who I was after our conversation, lol.
It has been 22 years.
I found some steel pieces at Goodwill that will fit in these holes in my backyard. Hopefully, with those and whatever else I use, they won't be able to make these holes any bigger. They will make new ones, lol. ![]()
I took a large lemon water with me and came home to eat lunch.

Meeting myself coming and going but I'm finally here... Mother's Day, I went to ML's to "help" with a paint color for their bedroom. We picked a moody lightish green. While there, Danny called my cell and ML, he and I had a nice 3-way, 1-hr. catch-up call. ML got me 5 pr. of socks, 5 books, two hollow fake books for storing something. Kinda cool gift for someone who has been and is a consumate quip/meme clipper. She was baking a rhubarb crisp, two pcs. of which I brought home and she gave me a lb. of fresh asparagus from the farmer's mkt. (As for the paint, Bill got a sample and it turned out to look like apple green, even rather neon-ish on the walls, not at all what she wants or what it looked like to us. So it won't be THAT color!)
Yesterday, Howard had another hand doctor appt. and he'll be having trigger finger surgery as soon as it can be scheduled. The 2 cortisone shots only mildly helped, so... Then we went to W-M for meds. and they literally had scads of left over bouquets all down the main aisles around the checkouts for 1/2 price. I got a doz. mixed lavender, white and coral roses for $5 and a bit more. They are beautiful. There were many mixed flower bouquets, too, for a bit more $$. The must have royally over-bought.
Today, we had to take the pickup to the car repair guy. Something ??? needs fixing. Then to the bank, after which we picked up two Arby roast beef sandwiches and came home.
There, Theresa, see how un-boring a life can be? Look at us!! ![]()
Janet, nice quilt. QB, loved your jokes, as always. Especially the ones about Ernestine!
Diane, wrists are so delicate. Hope your's settles down, soon. And best wishes with your Mom's surgery. Poor dear...
Devonne, we have a resident ground hog, huge, that lives under our yard barn, who does a lot of digging, plus a mole infestation. Both make mowing difficult and you have watch where you walk! The ground hog sometimes is out sunning himself. ![]()
This morning, we were notified that one of our Bible Study men passed away at 5:30 am. They had to drop out quite awhile ago due to his and her health issues so it wasn't unexpected. This is only a month or so after the 99 yr. old passed.
Better go. Have a messy kitchen and some sort of supper to scare up. Leftover crockpot pork chops w/ mushroom soup gravy, most likely. And the Marie Callender pecan pie old 'sweet tooth' Howard bought...which we didn't need! ![]()
Have a good evening and Sweet Dreams, Indy

INDY too funny, boring, you never!!! Seems like lots of people didn't buy flowers this year, same thing at our local stores, over ordering, or no purchasers LOL
DEVONNE that's is going to be a pain for you, hope you can get the holes fixed, little devils, how dare they
!!
SANDRA hope you get some good puzzles, the ones we took from one of our sewing ladies are not so good, they seem to be the cheaper kind and some of the pieces don't fit well. I finally gave up on the last one, have never done that before.
HOLLY I am glad to hear they are having a good time, Italy is wonderful, we've been a few times, and enjoyed it very much, Rome is very busy though, the coast or mountains are fantastic - when will they be back?
THERESA I heard that Devil Wears Prada 2 was very popular here on the weekend, my hairdresser went to see another movie and it was all booked out, hers was a horror one, she said her and her son were the only ones there LOL
I had my car radio replaced, it now has a new "high tech" - for me - screen and it does all sorts of things, might take me a little while to get used to it. The old radio had gone completely, and even the phone couldn't take calls so it had to get done, I didn't mind not having music, but the phone not being able to be used was a problem. Fines are too heavy for using a phone in the car unless it's properly connected.
It's raining again, and will be the next few days, Megan & Gary are supposed to be away for the weekend, so the boys will probably come to the club for dinner, they enjoy that, although they may want to stay home if it's still raining.
Did I tell you about Dean's final year fun, the students, most of them, have joined an 'assassin' group, it was $10 to join and they have to have phone locations on at all times, others can 'find' them and squirt them with water pistols, if they do they are out, apparently it's become a popular game for final year students, last one standing takes the pool money, we weren't sure about it at first, but it's all in fun, they are 'safe' if they wear goggles (swim ones) too funny to see them after they leave school grounds with the goggles on or around their necks. They are not allowed to do any of it in school times/grounds, after school only. Teachers are well aware. And it's just their own cohort, no outsiders.

ACCIDENTAL BLOOPERS.......
1. AN INVISIBLE CAR CAME OUT OF NOWHERE, STRUCK MY CAR, AND VANISHED.
2. I HAD BEEN SHOPPING FOR PLANTS ALL DAY AND WAS ON MY WAY HOME. AS I REACHED AN INTERSECTION, A HEDGE SPRANG UP, OBSCURING MY VISION, AND I DID NOT SEE THE OTHER CAR.
ITS CLOUDING UP. RAIN IS EXPECTED BY TOMORROW. MAYBE EVEN LATER TODAY. TYPICAL SPRING FOR US.
JUDY......SORRY THAT HOWARD NEEDS SURGERY TO GET HIS HAND FIXED. IT MAY BE THE BEST SOLUTION.
TRISH......AS LONG AS THE GAME IS SAFE, THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS. AND THAT DEAN AND THE STUDENTS ARE ENJOYING IT.
I DIDN'T MAKE MY TORTILLA MIX YET. THAT WILL GET DONE TODAY. YOGURT FOR BREAKFAST THIS MORNING. I PLAN TO DO SOME SEWING TODAY. I AM EAGER TO GET SOME LADIES FINISHED AND OFF TO THEIR NEW HOMES. CHORES AGAIN ARE NOT DIFFICULT. MY DAYS CAN BE QUITE DULL. THANK GOODNESS FOR TELEVISION AND GOOD BOOKS TO READ.
I AM THANKFUL FOR MY REALLY GOOD DAYS.
I AM THANKFUL FOR GOOD FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
I AM THANKFUL FOR DECENT WEATHER IN MY NECK OF THE WOODS.
STAY SAFE EVERYONE. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Hi everyone! I haven’t posted in a while so thought I would catch you up with what’s been going on in my life.
David was here for Mother’s Day weekend. We (mostly him) spent all day Saturday working in the yard. Sunday morning we went to church then out for a steak dinner. He left early enough in the afternoon to get home while his kids were still at his house to be with their mother. It is always so good to have him here. I also had several calls from other family members.
Two weeks ago I had a small dry patch on my nose frozen off. The dermatologist said she didn’t think it was cancer but since I have had cancers in that area previously, it needed tended to. It is almost completely healed now.
Also two weeks ago, I had numbness in my right thumb and tingling in my lip, lasted only a minute or two. When I consulted with my doctor about it, she thinks it was a TIA. She asked many many questions about other symptoms, none of which I had. She also said to report it to my cardiologist. He has ordered an MRI, which I will have on Friday. Both of them have said it is good that I am already on a blood thinner. I’m trying not to worry but am not succeeding very well. From what little I know, people who have TIAs are at higher risk of stroke.
My quilt guild just finished a fun thing. In honor of USA’s 250 th birthday, we did a red/white/blue star block swap. Everyone who participated (there were 12 of us) made 13 star blocks. At our last meeting we swapped so that we each got one block from each person. The 13th blocks will go together for a quilt to be donated to Quilts of Valor.
Also, in the past two weeks, I have gone to exercise class 3 times a week, had a massage, and got my hair trimmed.
Okay, I think that catches you up on me and my life.

Trish, the assassin game has been around here for a while, I remember Jules talking about it.
Yesterday we went to Olive Garden for lunch. Soup and salad for me, eggplant parm and salad for him. I always get a soup to go, so dinner will be soup.
I’m not sure when Manda and family come home, I know they have a one day layover in Iceland. She chose these weeks to travel, all the kids are missing is stupid state testing.
I made scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast, I make mine into a taco. So good!
I got Ralph one of the bird feeders with a camera that’s solar powered, as a Christmas gift. It sends a pic of each bird to his phone, and he signed up for a monthly device that identifies the bird. He’s had 20 species, and a gazillion bird visits. Steph was admiring it, so we sent her one, and she and Dan are now bird watching too. It’s really amazing. I couldn’t send Manda one, because in her area they are advised not to have bird feeders because of the bears!

Judy, sorry Howard needs surgery but you will be the best nurse!
Marylou, I know how much you appreciated David being there. I love it when my sons come to visit. Thanks for the updates on your life and health. With the blood thinner you're already on, that should help protect you from a stroke. Do you think he will increase the dosage?
Holly, I love a scrambled egg and bacon on a tortilla wrap. That's my breakfast in the morning. I don't use taco sauce, do you?
Have y'all seen the long slot toasters? I ordered a two slice one from Walmart to keep on my counter top. It took 2 1/2 weeks to get here from California. It wasn't the white color I wanted, it was an ugly tan, it was damaged and never worked. I was so disappointed. I guess it pays to order from Amazon where you get it the next day, or in two days. I was able to return it to the store today.
The weirdest thing happened to me in Walmart. I could hear myself breathing through my ears. This has never happened. When I got home, it went away. I read it happens when your eustachian tube(s) open and don't close back; it's temporary. A1 said to drink water and use a saline mist to help. I probably got dehydrated while shopping. I had lemon water in my SUV, but not with me.
When I got to my vehicle, my remote wouldn't open my door. I knew there was a hidden key on the remote, but I didn't know how to access it. A young man came by and he showed me how to do it. I did buy new batteries for the remote and the spare remote, but have not changed them yet. I hope it fixes the problem.
For dinner, I'm having cubed steak and brown gravy with leftover sweet green peas and a little sauerkraut. I am trying to eat a little fermented kraut with each dinner (if I remember it, lol). I'm not sure how it works, but it's good for your gut. You only need 2-3 tbsp. a day.
