No, Devonne, I haven't tried to call Marilynn. Was planning to on her birthday (Mar. 18) for sure and then once again, it got by me. Haven't heard from her either in a very long time. ![]()
I've noticed as you get older, things just slip away. I only have close friends, Bobbie & Cheryl, locally, now. All my girl classmates, except for one 35 miles away, have passed. Even my relatives are doing their own thing and we seldom talk or see each other. And, times flies!
Trish, my coldolences and love to you and Warwick. Her passing will be a big change after these many years. You've always done the best you could and that's what counts.
Right now, I'm waiting for a call back from the newspaper. I've been a loyal customer for years and years. Every six months, they send a letter raising the rate. Right now, I pay $29. a mo. This letter is raising that to $57.19!
For a paper that has stopped printing on Mondays, and all major holidays. Sunday, several sections, (the ones I like) were missing and often it isn't even delivered, but I do get two the next day, so I don't complain because the carrier let us know that they often don't receive the papers every day. What is going on??? Howard feels they are aiming to phase out all print copies and go to all digital.
Need to go and feed us breakfast. Back later.

EXCUSES, EXCUSES.......
1. MARY COULD NOT COME TO SCHOOL BECAUSE SHE HAS BEEN BOTHERED BY VERY CLOSE VEINS.
2. CHRIS WILL NOT BE IN SCHOOL CUS HE HAS AN ACRE IN HIS SIDE.
ITS SUNNY AND BRITE AND IN THE 60S. WINDOWS ARE OPEN. FAN IS BLOWING. I'M STILL TOO WARM. THE NEXT 3 DAYS MAY BE RAIN, RAIN, RAIN.
TRISH......MY CONDOLENCES ON YOUR FAMILY'S LOSS. YOU CAN FEEL GOOD ABOUT THE CARE YOU GAVE HER FOR SO MANY YEARS. WARWICK HAS BEEN A DEVOTED BROTHER. HUGS TO YOU BOTH.
THERESA....AND CHERYL......I'M WITH YOU. I HATED OUR HOA. TOO MANY STUPID (IN MY OPINION) RULES. DIDN'T SUIT ME AT ALL. WAS SO HAPPY TO MOVE FROM OUR BEACH CONDO TO MY SON'S HOME. THEY HAD AN HOA BUT IT ONLY COVERED THE PLOWING OF THE PRIVATE ROADS IN THEIR DEVELOPMENT, AND THE TRIMMING OF THE GRASS VERGES BESIDE THE ROADS SO THE YEARLY FEES WERE VERY SMALL. NOTHING ELSE. WITH LOTS 7 AND 8 ACRES, HE COULD DO WHAT HE LIKED.
THERESA......YOU WILL PROBABLY ENJOY A BLOG OF YOUR OWN. YOU CAN POST PICTURES WITHOUT HAVING TO GO THRU HOOPS TO RESIZE THEM. TRY BLOGSPOT.COM LIKE ME AND HOLLY.
I THINK I NEED TO BUY SOME STAMPS TODAY. UNLIKE SO MANY OF YOU, I STILL PAY BY CHECK. I GOT STUNG ONCE BY AN AUTOMATIC PAYMENT, NEVER TO BE TRIED AGAIN. IT TOOK ME 6 MONTHS TO GET IT STRAIGHTENED OUT AND THE ERRONEOUS PAYMENTS STOPPED. I KNOW THAT'S A RARE HAPPENING, BUT ONCE FOR ME WAS ENOUGH FOR MY LIFETIME. I WILL PAY BY CHECK FOR ALL LONG AS ITS POSSIBLE.
THAT'S IT LADIES. A QUIET DAY EXCEPT FOR MY MONTHLY AND WEEKLY CHORES. I THINK I MAY MAKE BURGERS FOR SUPPER SINCE I HAVE SOME MASHED TATERS LEFTOVER. I DON'T FEEL LIKE MAKING ANY CASSEROLES LATELY. GETTING LAZY IN MY OLD AGE.
STAY SAFE. HUGS, QB S ![]()

I was going to buy a china cabinet, but I changed my mind. I don't need another piece of furniture.
Sandra's computer isn't working. She will post when she can.
Holly, without an HOA, bills won't get paid which means common areas will be neglected like the clubhouse, the pool, landscaping and residents won't keep up their homes and yards. This is what I mean by it will fall apart. I hope they got new officers at the meeting this weekend. The homeowners are responsible, not the city. I think the city is only responsible for the main sewer lines and the road maintenance.

Good morning.
Howard is off to lunch with the ROMEOS and then Menard's, Oddly enough then, he's driving the 10 miles home to pick me up to go back to town for the groceries we need for our gathering on Friday. It's the only way to accomplish that with other things happening this week.
Last night, he decided to bake a frozen cherry pie. I was so looking forward to it instead of the apple he always buys. Wasn't to be! As he was taking it out of the oven, it flipped upside down on him and was completely destroyed. I was so disappointed.
Because he did it, he cleaned it up, this morning--what a mess...![]()
Yesterday was a lulu. First the newspaper fiasco. They offered me a $20/mo. lower rate but it's still too much, IMO, but I have until the middle of May to decided what to do.
Then, I got a text from ML. Bill's mother who will be 97 next month was taken by ambulance to the hospital after falling in the night, lying there until she could crawl to the phone and call her daughter. The daughter who lives the farthest way when she couldn't remember Bill' or his sister, Carol's numbers, who both live next door. She had the usual tests, C-T, MRI which showed nothing conclusive, was kept overnight and seems normal this morning.
She will be living with Carol and her husband, at least for awhile. She's likeable, spunky and a real gem. I used to pick her up and we'd go together to the grandparent stuff at Andrew's school.
Cheryl, I've heard of other cancer diagnoses where the treatment was delayed for a bit. I can see why Dean is frustrated and wanting to get going with it. There must be a reason for the delay...
So, I'm off to carry on while he's gone. Not a day to skylark and do only what I want.
Have a good day...thinking of Trish and family...take care

We surrender! It’s 88 out, 83 in the house. He just uncovered and connected the AC and it’s turned on. I didn’t sleep well last night, too hot.
Devonne, I guess that’s what you expect when you move into an area with an HOA. I’ll take my town with the ordinances any day, I don’t need a pool or clubhouse.
Cheryl, I understand Dean’s frustration. He just wants to feel like himself again. Next doc visit, can you ask for a time line?
We had lunch with a friend at a diner. I got a Turkey club, so good! I ate 1/4 of it, brought the rest home. I love how autocorrect capitalizes Turkey.

Trish, condolences to your family. It's amazing how much has to be done after someone passes.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. It was mostly a non-event. Jeff will be coming up to bring me some plants once they arrive at his house so that will be when we celebrate and Tim's birthday is on the 23rd so we will do both celebrations.
It is going to be in the 60s today. Hooray. I'll be happy when all the snow is gone. I did get to the car wash last weekend so my car looks happier. I have to take her in today for routine service and maybe get summer tires and rest the heavy duty winter tires. I remember not liking to have to do the switch but 'tis the way for most of New England.
We had our taxes done professionally this year but hope to do it ourselves next year. It wasn't cheap, but dealing with selling and buying houses and Vermont taxes I didn't feel comfortable doing them.
Stay safe,
J

Trish - 🙏🏻 Thinking of you.
We always have our taxes done by a CPA. We owed a lot this year. In Virginia, you have to pay electronically.
It was hot yesterday. No AC here yet.
DH is still feeling poorly. Cough, wheezing, can’t sleep at night, exhausted all day. He’s been to the dr twice. More than he has in years. 🤷♀️
I’m heading to a quilt workshop/retreat today. Be back Sunday. Some are coming in from as far as Denver! Florida, etc. A bunch came last time (2 years ago) by Trailways Bus from the DeMarVa area. I assume they will this year too. There are only 3 of us “local” girls. This is a huge event. 160 attendees not counting instructors.
The ladies in my guild are such dummies….this event with national teachers is in our backyard (20 mins for me). They don’t go because (or so they say) they think there’s nothing left for them to learn.😵💫🙄. I think it has more to do with the co$t.
3 nights, 10 meals, two 6hr workshops, and all kinds of things of quikt related goodie. Silent auction, Trick Tray, games, etc. I always get a single room ($555) but you could get a double or even triple le for less.
Anyway, stay out of trouble while I’m away. I’ll try to check in!

IT'S TRUE......
1. SOMETIMES I TALK TO MYSELF, THEN WE BOTH LAUGH AND LAUGH!
2. I USED TO DO CARTWHEELS, NOW I TIP OVER PUTTING ON MY UNDERWEAR.
SORRY I COULDN'T STOP BY YESTERDAY. SO MANY ISSUES WITH MY PUTER. WHEN IT FINALLY WORKED RIGHT I WAS TOO TIRED TO POST.
I LOST 2.50 AT BINGO LAST NITE. ITS BEEN A 2-WEEK LOSING STREAK.
TODAY AT CRAFTS I FINISHED ANOTHER VICTORIAN LADY. WE ALSO HAD A MEETING ABOUT THE RETURNABLE BOTTLES. WE USED TO ALL GIVE OUR BOTTLES TO TOM AND HE REDEEMED THEM AND BOUGHT THINGS FOR DOGGY OSCAR. NOW THAT HE'S GONE, WE NEED TO MAKE A PLAN.
WE ARE KEEPING A BIG TOTE IN THE COMMON ROOM FOR THE DONATIONS. ONE GAL WILL REDEEM THE BOTTLES. AND I, AS NEW TREASURER, WILL TAKE CARE OF THE MONEY. WE CAN USE THE MONEY FOR THINGS NEEDED IN THE COMMON ROOM, LIKE PLATES, FLATWARE, NAPKINS, TRASH BAGS, PAPER TOWELS, DISH SOAP, ETC. ANOTHER LADY WILL DO THE BUYING AS NEEDED. I WILL MAKE MY TREASURER'S REPORT EVERY BINGO NITE.
TONITE I AM MAKING MY HOMEMADE PEPPERONI AND GROUND BEEF PIZZA. I HAVE 2 LADIES THAT WILL SHARE WITH ME.
MY SON SAID HE WOULD TAKE ME PUTER SHOPPING NEXT WEEK. I AGREED. BUT DEPENDS ON IF MY PUTER WORKS FOR ME MORE THAN USUAL OR NOT. I HATE NEW TECHNOLOGICAL EQUIPT.
YESTERDAY I HAD TO TURN OFF MY PUTER AND START AGAIN 3 TIMES. IT WAS SLOW MOVING EACH TIME. THEN THE INTERNET WOULD NOT WORK. CALLED SPECTRUM BUT IT WAS OKAY IN THEIR LINES. I HAD THE DICKENS OF A TIME FINDING OUT HOW TO GET MY WI-FI TO WORK FOR ME AGAIN. BY THEN I WAS EXHAUSTED. SPENT 3 HOURS WASTED. RIGHT NOW ITS WORKING LIKE A CHARM. FINGERS CROSSED.
DREARY DAY AGAIN TODAY LIKE YESTERDAY. RAIN OFF AND ON. WARM ENUF THAT I DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE HEAT ON AND THEN MY FAN IS GOING AND WINDOWS OPEN. I'M ONE HOT BABY.
THAT'S IT LADIES. STAY SAFE. HUGS, QB S ![]()
PS.....IF I DO NOT SHOW UP ON ODT BY 2 PM YOU CAN BE SURE ITS MY PUTER PROBLEMS. I WILL BE BACK WHEN ITS RESOLVED OR I HAVE A NEW ONE.

DISORDER IN THE COURT.......
1. Q. DOCTOR, DID YOU SAY HE WAS SHOT IN THE WOODS?
A. NO, I SAID HE WAS SHOT IN THE LUMBAR REGION.
2. Q. NOW, MRS. JOHNSON, HOW WAS YOUR FIRST MARRIAGE TERMINATED?
A. BY DEATH.
Q. AND BY WHOSE DEATH WAS IT TERMINATED?
THE RAINS HAVE PASSED. NOW ITS DREARY BUT WILL CLEAR UP LATER. IN THE 60S THEN THEY TELL US.
WHERE THE HECK IS EVERYBODY? NOT MANY POSTING LATELY.
WELL, IT SEEMS MY PUTER WOES ARE BEHIND ME. ALL CAUSED BY THE NEW WI-FI THEY PUT IN. I HAD TO CALL THE CABLE COMPANY AND GET INFO FROM A TECHY. AFTER GOING THRU THE PACES, RESETTING AND NETWORKING, I AM ONLINE AND DOING SO WELL, I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE IT.
CAROL......GOOD TO KNOW YOU ARE HOME SAFE. I ALWAYS WORRY WHEN ONE IS TRAVELING. I HOPE YOU HAD A MARVELOUS TIME AND CAN TELL US AND POST A FEW PICTURES.
JANET.....THAT'S A HUGE RETREAT. I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT. LOTS OF THINGS PLANNED. SHOULD BE FUN.
CHERYL..... I HOPE THE NEW MEDS FOR DEAN GET STARTED SOON AND HE CAN GET BETTER. SENDING HIM POSITVE THOUGHTS.
TODAY IS BUNDIE-MAKING DAY FOR MY SON TOMORROW. AND THEN TOMORROW MORNING ITS THE HASH BROWN SAUSAGE CASSEROLE WITH ACTUAL SHREDDED HASH BROWNS THIS TIME. HE AND WIFE REALLY LOVED IT LAST TIME WITH THE TATER TOTS.
I PULLED SEVERAL BACKINGS FOR MY VICTORIAN LADIES THAT I CAN PULL FORWARD FOR THE BINDING. I WANT TO GET THOSE DONE BEFORE I CONTINUE WITH MY DRAGON. I ONLY HAVE 2 FINISHED SO FAR. TODAY I WILL DO SOME MACHINE QUILTING ON ONE OR TWO.
WE SHOULD HAVE A NICE DAY LATER. I HAVE TRASH TO TAKE TO THE DUMPSTER FOR ME AND 2 LADIES SO I DON'T WANT ANY MORE RAIN. CHORES AREN'T BAD TODAY AND THEN THERE'S BAKING THIS AFTERNOON WHICH WILL TAKE QUITE A WHILE.
I HAD DROPPED 3 LBS AND WAS VERY HAPPY, TIL I STEPPED ON THE SCALE TODAY AND GAINED BACK A HALF LB. ITS THE PIZZA I MADE LAST NITE. IT WAS SO GOOD, I HAD TO HAVE 2 SLICES FOR SUPPER. GOOD THING I GAVE 2 NEIGHBORS 2 SLICES EACH SO I AM NOT TEMPTED TO STUFF MY FACE WITH MORE. I SHOULD HAVE HELD OFF WITH JUST THE ONE BUT YOU KNOW HOW IT IS. SOMETHING FRESH TASTES SO MUCH BETTER THAN LATER. I WILL TRY TO BE GOOD TONITE AND NOT INDULGE TOO MUCH IN SNACKS. I HAVE BEEN GOOD FOR 2 DAYS WITH THAT. NOT OVERDOING IT.
STAY SAFE MY LADIES. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Just popping in to say hi! Not much to report today. Gracie and I took a nap and I cleaned off my dining room table. It was full of art paint, brushes, and canvases.
I made an egg casserole from a YouTube recipe and it was really good. You use 10 eggs, red pepper, onion, and spinach, salt and pepper. Her recipe said to cook it at 180°. I knew that was wrong. I put it on 325 and it still took an hour to cook.

Afternoon y'all! ![]()
Still praying for rain!
May get some by Sunday. I have not checked in a bit so that might have changed. ![]()
The garden is in and the flowers planted up front. Critters are digging in the front planters! I need to add more plastic forks. I put them in tine side up, it does discourage them. They also need some water. I put Marigolds this year. ![]()
I had my physical today. All is good. She put me on some steroids to help the shoulder. I just came back from getting them. School traffic on a Friday is a bear to deal with. Thought I gave it enough time but I was wrong! YIKES! Got my meds, hopefully they help! ![]()
Shoulder is getting better. I forgot to take the muscle relaxing med on Monday night and Tuesday I was ready to go to the ER, it was that painful. I held out and remembered the med Tuesday night and Wednesday was much better. I am getting back to Monday's level of discomfort, slowly but surely it is helping. She told me to go ahead and take a second once I get home from my walk if I am not driving anywhere. Well, usually when I get home, I am home for the rest of the day. Not a problem, anything I can do to make it better faster, I am all in! ![]()
We have a ton of poison Ivy growing in our back yard, near the back fence, most on the other side of the fence. I'm the one that has to pull it since hubby looks at poison Ivy and gets it, me I could almost roll in it and not get it. I do use gloves. He just came it and told me he found more for me to pull! Joys! Not! We need to get something like round up and spray the large area, it technically is our property, but there's a gully and the fence is on our side of the gully, most of the gully is ours. We need to take care of this issue sooner than later. It is sprouting in the yard, probably from underground runners on the other side of the fence, most of it is near the fence! ![]()
I lead such an exciting life, don't I with all the unwanted plants issues. Also lots of sticky weed there too, so the weed killer will get that too, along with the Virginia Creeper. So it will help a bunch to do this. ![]()
You are now caught up on my little corner of the world. Exciting I know! ![]()
Later my Friends! ![]()

Devonne, maybe the 180 was Celsius?
Offline
Devonne, I wonder if that egg recipe that listed the cook temp as 180 was in celcius? That is about 350 fahrenheit degres.
I ran the sweeper, dusted and cleaned my kitchen. I have to keep the dust down since his immune system is so low. He will start chemo infusions on April 27 for seven days this month (and May). Then do another 7 days in May. Dr said he was not able to tell us how many treatments he will need and we will just have to monitor the blood levels to see how he is responding. He was feeling really tired and could barely make our walk around the block yesterday. He got a blood transfusion today and it made him feel much better.
It was a beautiful day today and we spent some time just sitting in the sunshine. We had had so much rain, that it felt nice to be in the sun.
Theresa, I am like your hubby in that I get poison ivy so quickly. I can't even wear gloves to pull it. Our yard is full of weeds this year and it is driving Dean crazy. He is not allowed to cut grass due to mold spores and his yard is usually so neat. I need to feed my hydrangeas but have not gotten to that yet either. My azaleas are just starting to bloom and I love them. I sure wish they stayed longer in bloom, but they are showy while here.
Sandra, happy to hear that you got your computer issues resolved.

Thinking of everyone p. Prayer..........
Offline
Thanks you everyone for your thoughts and prayers, we all appreciate them.
It's been busy here, we also had a power outage 2 nights ago, luckily I had cooked dinner early so the Mr could have a very early night, we ended up getting some candles from Megan of course I had tossed my older ones out LOL
The power wasn't out long, went out just before 6pm and was back by 8, but they had notified it might be as long as midnight!!
We have done as much as possible for the funeral, music/songs have to be confirmed, and the eulogy also done, other than that it's been all hands on deck to get everything done, and her room cleared out, she had so much "stuff" my MIL had a collection of owls, probably 100 or so, some very tiny, Megan asked for some, so she got them, and David took some, other than that if anyone wanted one they had to say, otherwise they would be donated to the nursing home for their fete at the end of this year. The wake has been organised, and the readings will be done by Megan and David's daughter and after much angst their (horrible nasty ) younger brother will be given a short reading, he has made life difficult for everyone after having almost no contact with sis for years. Always the way isn't it?? Families and funerals
So much for my news!
SANDRA ouch on the losses for Bingo, maybe this week will be better, BUT good news for the computer. At least some things went well, and don't worry about the small gain, it will change here and there as long as it stays manageable (((hugs)))
HOLLY forgot to say, yes his sis in the hostel (nursing home care) we were able to have her stay in her room to the end. Your temps are getting like ours LOL It's been warm here till today, now it's cold again, but we are heading to winter, so can't complain - just remind me how much I hate the heat when I whine LOL
DEVONNE it would be 180C which is between 350 and 360, sometimes you can tell by the way they write the recipe, usually they would say though?? I always know it's US measurements when they say 'all purpose flour' we say plain, and also self rising instead of self raising ( or often SR flour) -- did you enjoy it though!!
JANET that is a big retreat, more like a convention we never have that here, unless you count all the stands/classes at the quilt shows. Enjoy it, might find something new to do technique.
INDY sorry about the mess with the pie, I can imagine!!! I spilt flour everywhere the other day, took forever to lean up, at least it was dry though.
CHERYL continued prayers for you both, I hope the fusions go well, and he has no side effects, he has been is such good health so I hope that helps him recover. You will learn what tastes good and bad for him quickly, dad hated that he lost taste, he loved his food, but the veg soup I made him he could taste, weird, he always liked spicy before that.
THERESA I was hoping that your shoulder might be improving, I didn't remember reading about any more problems with the estate, so fingers crossed it's all good now.
I had training for the first time this week, it was good to get out, thought I might struggle, but was pleasantly surprised. I need to go to the mall tomorrow, one of my bras has become uncomfortable, they had it on sale so ordered for pick up tomorrow, I'll check if there are any more my size. Maybe time to get some new ones
I took some time to start a new jigsaw a couple nights ago to unwind, it's cute, I thought of you SANDRA it's fairies and has silver all through it. cute!!
Time for me to shut this down, I hadn't turned it on since the power failure and it took a while to come back online, I usually put it to 'sleep' so it's quick.
