Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

CHERYL this diagnosis is such a shock for you both, from being so healthy to this, I hope he can get some treatment, and I am sending you lots of love ((((((hugs)))))

SANDRA I agree, we seem to be having some pretty awful news lately, I am so very grateful for all of you, and I am especially grateful that you keep on posting, every day with the jokes to give a little smile ((((hugs)))

THERESA not fun, I wonder what caused it, I agree, maybe a scan or X-ray??? Hope you feel better soon, maybe you got "pulled" by Siba and didn't realise how it damaged?

STRINGS - men!! they don't listen to Drs OR us LOL I am having the same problems, he 'hears' but doesn't really listen. Today he rang while I was driving, - him - was I home? - NO - him - so could I please get the forms from the table and send them in an email to him -- me, I'm not home!!! Honestly, sometimes I could just scream

HOLLY that is a pretty cross stitch, I just can't seem to get any done, I have tried a few times, just not something I can settle to, I think it's because I really don't count properly, and I just don't stitch well either.

DEVONNE good luck with the injections, hope they work, I think they mean don't do anything that will use your knees, I also draw and sew, like JANET but sew right next to the line I draw, on the side that will be cut off. It allows for the fabric to fold over  and thread too.

It's been an interesting few days here, calls from the hostel, SIL has diabetes, the readings have been low, but all of a sudden they have rocketed, really, really high, from 5 to 29!   they wanted W to make a decision about giving her insulin, he told them he could not agree to that as he's not a doctor and to call her Dr for advice, they are now monitoring her carefully, he took her for a CT on her abdomen today, then the staff asked him to please get her some new long slacks as she has lost so much weight hers are falling down.

Honestly that  has been the easiest, they just happened to have them at a store nearby, I could have driven to pick them up, but the store offered fast delivery by Uber for $10, bargain LOL -  now they are shortened - 3 pair - washed and drying outside, we'll get them to her ASAP, but Easter traffic might decide what day LOL ( and fuel, which has gone up to the equivalent of $11 gallon - yikes!)

WELFARE BLOOPER........
I WANT MY MONEY AS QUICK AS I CAN GET IT.  I'VE BEEN IN BED WITH THE DOCTOR FOR TWO WEEKS AND HE DOESN'T DO ME ANY GOOD.  IF THINGS DON'T IMPROVE, I WILL HAVE TO SEND FOR ANOTHER DOCTOR.

GOING TO HIT 50S TODAY BUT CLOUDY ALL DAY AND ALL WEEK ACTUALLY.  I REALLY DO NOT LIKE THE GRAY DAYS.  I DON'T LIKE HEAT, BUT I LOVE SUNSHINE.
NOTHING MUCH HAPPENING HERE.  I AM DOING WHAT I WANT WHEN I WANT AND EATING ALL THE THINGS I ENJOY BEST.  I MADE THE STEAK PIZZIOLA WITH RIBS AND MEATBALLS AND SPAGHETTI.  I HAVE SOME LEFTOVERS BUT NOT TOO MUCH SINCE I SHARED.  TODAY MY PLAN IS POTATO PANCAKES AND TOMORROW BUNDIES.
TONITE IS BINGO NIGHT AND I WILL BE BRINGING SOME FARMER CHEESE BITES FOR THE GALS.  THEY NEVER HAD FARMER CHEESE SO I WILL LET THEM ALL TRY SOME.  THEY HAVE BEEN CURIOUS.
AS TO SEWING, NOTHING DONE YESTERDAY.  DOING OTHER THINGS I ENJOY.  WILL SEE WHAT WORKS FOR ME TODAY.

STAY SAFE AND WARM LADIES.  THOSE HAVING ISSUES, KNOW THAT I SEND YOU POSITIVE THOUGHTS ALL THE TIME, HOPING IT HELPS.  CAN'T HURT.
HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

The gel shots weren’t bad…until 2 hours later when I got home, then the soreness and the stiffness set in. My right knee, which is the least worse, is the one that is more sore.

I have a Walmart grocery order coming. I’m going to ask the deliverer to bring it in the house.

Trish, that is odd asking Warwick to approve insulin for her.

I wish I could do cross I’m coming give me just a minutestitching but even after cataract surgery, I don’t think I could see good enough.

ETA:   Thought I would correct that last paragraph, lol. Someone was ringing my doorbell and my laptop was almost dead, so I hit submit. I'm sure you figured out I meant cross stitching, lol!

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

Linda, I remember, don’t know if anyone still does it. I know my granddaughters never did.

Yesterday was 80 and gorgeous, today 50 and cloudy. Rain and lightning last night, the power blinked. We’re going to go out to lunch then to Aldi for a few things.

For Easter gifts, I sent the big kids cases of snacks- they love keeping some in their cars. The little kids I sent a few things via Amazon of course.

I’m making criss cross aprons for my girls. My 28mm rotary cutter came, it worked great to cut the armholes and neck opening. So much more control!

I’m almost caught up on Grey’s Anatomy, 3 episodes to go. It just got renewed for season 23!

Ben is in Kansas for work, so his parents drove from Nebraska to see him. They had dinner and watched the launch together. They stayed over and will go back to Nebraska today. Fun fact, when flying from Seattle to Wichita, he had to go by way of Dallas!

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

SIGNS OF THE TIMES......
1.  IN FRONT OF A NEW HAMPSHIRE RESTAURANT:  NOW SERVING LIVE LOBSTERS.
2.  IN FRONT OF A NEW HAMPSHIRE STORE:   ENDURABLE FLOORS.

ITS A CLOUDY DAY HERE.  IT WILL BE LIKE THIS THE REST OF THE WEEK.  I DON'T MIND.  I HAVE NOWHERE TO GO.
I SURE MISS THE EASTERS IN THE OLD DAYS.  I WORE PATENT LEATHER SHOES AND RUFFLED SOCKS.  AND A HAT.  ALWAYS A PRETTY HAT AND DRESS.  WHITE GLOVES TOO.
MY KIDS ALSO DRESSED UP FOR EASTER AS WELL.  MY SON EVEN WORE LITTLE 3-PIECE SUITS FROM THE TIME HE COULD WALK.  MY MOM ALWAYS BOUGHT MY KIDS' OUTFITS FOR EASTER.  SHE REALLY LOVED DO IT.  DON'T SEE THAT ANYMORE.
CHRISTENINGS WERE ALSO A BIG DEAL YEARS AGO.  ALL WORE THEIR FINERY AND SPECIAL WHITE DRESSES FOR THE BABES.  THE LAST TIME I WENT TO ONE, THEY WERE DOING ABOUT A DOZEN BABIES THAT DAY AND SOME OF THE FAMILIES WORE JEANS AND OLD TEES AND LOOKED SO SCRUFFY.  AMAZING HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED.

I WON $8 AT BINGO LAST NITE.  ITS A BIG WIN FOR US.  ONLY ONE GAL WON MORE AND THAT WAS $11.50.  I FEEL GOOD.
FELL LAST NITE, BETWEEN MY SOFA AND THE FOOT REST.  STUBBED MY TOE.  I COULD SEE MYSELF FALLING IN SLOW MOTION BUT I COULD NOT STOP MYSELF.  HATE THAT.  ANYWAY, IT TOOK ABOUT 5-6 MINUTES FOR ME TO GET UP AGAIN.  I TUGGED ON MY SOFA AND HAD TO USE THE LEG TO HAUL MYSELF UP A BIT AND THEN ONTO THE SOFA ITSELF.  DIDN'T BREAK ANYTHING BUT BANGED MY KNEES HARD.  MY LEFT ONE IS ACHING TODAY SO I AM TAKING THINGS SLOWLY.  MORE SLOWLY THAN NO-CHORE DAYS.
I AM ENJOYING COOKING WHAT I LIKE AND EATING SAME.  ITS BEEN A GREAT WEEK SO FAR.  MY SON SHOPS FOR ME ON SATURDAY AND THEN ON SUNDAY FLIES OFF ON ANOTHER VACATION.  I KNOW NOT WHERE.
I AM MAKING BUNDIES TONITE, ALL FOR MYSELF THIS TIME.  I USUALLY MAKE THEM FOR MY KIDS AND THEN HAVE 1 OR 2 FOR MYSELF TO TASTE TEST TO BE SURE THEY ARE OK.  YUP, THATS THE REASON AND I'M STICKING TO IT.  THIS TIME, ALL FOR ME.
GOT MY LAB RESULTS TODAY.  ALL ARE IN THE SAFE RANGE.  I AM DOING OK AND IN SOME THINGS BETTER THAN LAST TIME.  NO MORE LABS FOR A YEAR NOW.
THAT'S IT LADIES.  A SLOW AND RAINY DAY HERE.  I WILL WATCH MORE TV AND DO WHAT I LIKE.
STAY SAFE.  HUGS FOR YOU ALL, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

Knees are much better today and I got a great night's sleep! Thought I might need Gary to come over to take my trash bin to the curb today, but I got it now! I'm getting ready to square up my blocks. Need to change the rotary blade. I have four rotary cutters and they are all dull.

Ladies, if you like apple butter, I found the best I've ever had at my local Ingles store. The brand is Appalachian Harvest. It was not on the jam/jelly aisle, but in the Produce Dept.

Linda, I do remember, one year especially. My Mom bought pink and blue lacy dresses for all of the girls. I had light blue, a hat and black patent leather shoes, also a purse and white gloves.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

Devonne, there’s a company called Madam Sew that sells titanium rotary cutter blades. I used one blade to cut all 100 yards of flannel, and it’s still sharp! Well worth the price.

It’s 52 out and feels like 40 with a fine mist.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

Afternoon everyone!

It's Good Friday here, and it's a nice day, often we seem to get rain all over Easter, not today.

I spent the evening with the dogs, John was heading out and asked if someone could stay with them for a bit, I decided to stay till he got home, so a late night, and I'm tired now LOL

I will head for a nap after this.

I remember those days also, dressing up for Easter and Christmas, no one does it now - although we did for the boys christenings, they wore the family gown, and now Megan has it -- her grandmother gave it to her well before she died as no one in the family had any interest in it and Megan had asked to use it for both boys, I remember getting a couple Pandora charms one of a boy the other of an angel, asked John  (3 then) to pick which one represented him, he took the boy, said Dean could be the bride LOL he had been to a couple weddings and also saw his brother in the long robe, too funny. He'll never live that down!

DEVONNE I am glad to hear the knees are a little better, maybe it takes some time, good luck with the cutting!

HOLLY I haven't used titanium blades, I will keep an eye out. I was using titanium needles till the mechanic told me not to, he said they will definitely not break, but it could damage the machine, as normal needles WILL break if they hit the plate, but the titanium could damage/bend the 'arm' for the needle
I had never thought of that!

SANDRA good news on the win, and also relaxing, I love the idea of a free week, it seems like this house always needs something, I usually clean right through on Mondays, but I'd love a week off LOL

JANET you have a Pfaff, do you use titanium? Any retreats booked?

STRINGS good luck with the PT!

I think it will be BJ's funeral service on your tomorrow, it's 3rd here now. I'm sure I read it's 3rd April, I remember thinking same as SANDRA'S birthday

Keeping good thoughts and love heading to CHERYL and DEAN - I have all the markers in my blood for multiple myloma, so weird because I DON'T have it - yet, but they watch the blood readings carefully, and know how scary it is waiting,  having the diagnosis must be devastating, and so difficult for you and Dean and I really feel for you and the family.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

Trish- I don’t use titanium needles for the same reason.

I wasn’t impressed with the titanium rotary blades.  Most are only titanium coated which wears down.  Hardly (to me) worth the extra cost.  They say that hardened cutting mats wear down the blades faster than cutting fabric.

And yes Trish, I have a retreat coming up on Monday.  Ends Friday and then a retreat/workshop with national instructors the following week.

DH finally gave in and went to Urgent Care this morning.  I told him to go 3 days ago but all he did was get angry at me.  Says I gave it to him because I was careless??
Admittedly I did get sick first but he followed by a day or 2.  I started to feel better 2-3 days ago and he’s gotten worse. 🤷‍♀️

MANGLED MODIFIERS........
1.  PLEASE TAKE TIME TO LOOK OVER THE BROCHURE THAT IS ENCLOSED WITH YOUR FAMILY.
2.  I WISH TO EXPRESS MY THANKS TO THE POST OFFICE FOR THE GREAT, KIND SERVICE THEY GIVE AND FOR THE PATIENCE THEY HAVE WITH LITTLE OLD LADIES IN MAILING PACKAGES.

ITS ANOTHER RAINY DAY HERE.  ANOTHER DAY TO STAY INDODORS, EXCEPT FOR THE TRASH I NEED TO TAKE TO THE DUMPSTER TODAY.

THANK YOU FRIENDS FOR THE KIND WISHES.  ITS MY 84TH BIRTHDAY TODAY.  I HAVE BEEN CELEBRATING QUIETLY DOING MY THING ALL WEEK WITHOUT A CHORE TO DO.  LAST NITE I MADE A BATCH OF BUNDIES AND THEY ARE ALL MINE.  I CAN INDULGE MYSELF TODAY.
I'VE BEEN ICING MY KNEE AND IT SEEMS TO HAVE HELPED.  I THINK I CAN SAFELY DO MY LAPS TODAY.
NO COOKING FOR ME TODAY.  I HAVE LEFTOVERS OF THINGS I REALLY LIKE TO EAT.  THERE'S THE TV AND MY PUZZLE TO WORK ON AND SOLITAIRE AND MAYBE SOME SEWING.  DEPENDS ON WHAT I WANT TO DO.

WISHING YOU ALL A KIND AND SAFE DAY.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

Happy Birthday Sandra!

It’s another cloudy day here. Ralph has been gearing up to cleaning his closet, and did it today. Huge donation pile! Of course he found things he’d forgotten about. I sat and cheered him on. It’s been years since he went thru the closet, some dress clothes and shoes had a layer of dust!

Good point about the titanium needles, I don’t use them. I use Janome brand on both machines, which are Janome.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

Good morning.    I'm alone.  Howard has gone to his VA  appt. which means he fills out something and then waits for hours.  After lunch, ML is coming for us to continue working in the spare room which means that I have several chores to take care of before she gets here.  It's sort of like when you have a cleaner coming and you have to 'clean' for the cleaner.

Happy, happy birthday, QB.  I love your plan for this week--your birthday present to yourself!  A change of pace, no matter what, is often just what we need to carry one with the ordinary.
Congrats on another Bingo winning night--another birthday present, of sorts.
Sorry you had a fall, though.  Those alway make one pause because even it they cause little or no injury, they are unexpected and jarring and scary.    Hope your poor knees recover quickly.

I'm thinking of and praying for Dean and Cheryl every day.  Hope they got a plan, yesterday at Cleveland Clinic and he will soon be on his way to recovery.  CC  is one of the best in the nation.  Much love to you both...

Devonne,  whatever? it was, it made me laugh!  Thanks for the explanation because I didn't get it, although I did get the cross stitching part.  It's good when we can laugh at ourself and even tell others, isn't it?

Speaking of which, Howard dropped me and the walker off at the door for my cardio appt. yesterday.  As I toddled down to the elevators, my support belt fell off!  I scooped it up and went on my way.  A woman had pushed the elevator  button but was waiting for her husband and son who were coming down the hall so she said, Go ahead.  So I did.  And, although I tried to stop it, the elevator door closed but instead of pushing  the button for the 2nd floor, I started fiddling with the belt, the door opened again,  and there stood the same woman and her men--since, of course, the elevator had not gone anywhere.  I stammered out a reason why I was still standing there but I think I made it worse because they looked confused and I couldn't believe I'd done that!   So, I (with the walker)  just scurried out ahead of them...as a friend of ours always said about his wife's "adventures":  Everyday's a holiday!

Trish, that was a cute story.  "Out of the mouths of babes..."
Hope you got rested up.  You have a busy life, and then there's Warwick!

Janet, everything's my fault, too, so I know how you feel.  I think one finally just considers the source and carries on.  But, sometimes, I verbally agree that 'yes' that and everything else that goes wrong is because of something I've done.  He's quick to rebut that, but it's such an endless habit...  And I always readily say that I couldn't get along without him at this point and evidently ever, since I'm still here after  47 1/2 years.

We both had cardio appts. and both received good news.  In addition to my Echo Cardiogram last week, they did an EKG yesterday and both were normal (for a woman of my age, I'm sure ).   And Howard's labs, were normal and his checkup was, too.    I love our cardio. despite the fact that he always ribs me along the lines of men vs women!  But, I can keep up with him and I'm sure, that's what he wants!

We're spending Easter alone.  So are ML and Bill.  Since Andrew can't come home, we'll wait until he can and then, maybe, have a meal together.  I did buy a ham slice and a wonderfully, on sale, cheesecake and will share some of that with them.   I already had a slice (pre-sliced) and it was delicious.  So, off I go.  Have a good day.
Indy
