SANDRA I missed where you won at bingo, so happy the pot lucks are good, maybe everyone can take a couple containers for the leftovers. There is always too much food at parties LOL I know I over-cater, but better to have too much than not enough LOL
HOLLY the bird baths sound fun, I couldn't find anything like that here, so I won't have the fun, we have lots of birds, it would be interesting! Being around Boone would be fun - =19.5pxthey are so cute!
DEVONNE Yes, I am surprised, but I know also how much effort has gone into her care over many, many years, W was the primary carer for so long, his brother has only stepped up in the last (less than) 10 years, she will be 81 on 15 April and has had a much longer life than was ever expected, she was not expected to live beyond early childhood. Her health has been terrible for the last 20+ yrs, even more so now. I really don't know how she is still alive to be honest, and neither do her drs.
I had sewn today, too funny, I had to sew part circles to make Drunkards Path blocks, I had to sew background onto 2 x 3 1/2" squares, it was a pretty print, today Julie picked up the block and said WOW, I had no idea, but apparently I fluked fussy cutting for those pieces, not intentional and I didn't realise till she showed me LOL I could have cut differently, sewn the background on differently. It was perfect fussy cutting, I need to buy a lottery ticket LOL
It's been warmer today, but cooling off now, I am looking forward to bed, it's so nice to sleep under the quilt.
I have lots of washing to do tomorrow, the beds all need stripping, towels, and all the floors need cleaning and washing polishing - YUK! But it will be good to get it done. And I want to scrub the bathroom.
See you later, sweet dreams.

Trish, it’s bird feeders, not bird baths.
It’s nice and sunny, 45 now, going up to mid 50’s. Lunch today will be Olive Garden.

IRISH BULL......
1. YOU COULDN'T GET ME ON MARS IF IT WERE THE LAST PLACE ON EARTH.
2. IF ROOSEVELT WERE ALIVE TODAY, HE'D TURN OVER IN HIS GRAVE.
ITS SUNNY AND BRITE. WILL REACH MID-40S TODAY. MY DAY OF REST.
MY DAY OF REST TODAY BUT I WANT TO TAKE OUT MY TRASH SINCE RAIN IS COMING LATER TONITE AND TOMORROW. NEED TO GET CLEARED OUT BEFORE THEN.
WE HAD A CHAT TIME IN THE COMMON ROOM YESTERDAY. I WORKED ON ONE OF MY VICTORIAN LADIES, HAND-SEWING A BINDING. ANOTHER GAL PINNED A BABY QUILT TOGETHER. ANOTHER WORKED KNITTING A HAT. ALL THE REST JUST TALKED, AND TALKED. IT WAS A GOOD AFTERNOON TOGETHER.
HOLLY.....THAT BIRD FEEDER SOUNDS LIKE A WINNER. I WOULD GET MYSELF ONE IF I STILL LIVED AT MY SON'S COUNTRY HOME. WE HAD LOTS OF BIRDS. NO BEARS. BUT DEER SOMETIMES AND THE WILD TURKEY CAME THRU NOW AND THEN. I LOVED FEEDING AND WATCHING THE BIRDS.
NOTHING ELSE EXCITING HERE. I MAY DO MORE SEWING TODAY. I AM AT THE POINT WHERE I SHOULD DO SOME PENCIL SHADING OF MY SHE-DRAGON BUT I'M A BIT SCARED TO BEGIN. I WOULD HATE TO MAKE A MESS OF IT.
I HAVE SOME DIFFERENT MEATS DEFROSTING TODAY. STEAK, COUNTRY RIBS, AND GROUND BEEF. I WANT TO MAKE UP SOME STEAK PIZZIAOLA (STEAK SIMMERED IN TOMATO SAUCE) WITH COUNTRY RIBS AND MEATBALLS AND SPAGHETTI THIS WEEK. MAYBE TOMORROW OR TUESDAY. DEPENDS ON WHEN MY NEXT-DOOR NEIGHBOR WILL BE HOME AT 5. SHE'S THE ONE THAT BROUGHT ME THE MEATS AND ENOUGH FOR A FEW MORE NEIGHBORS AS WELL.
HAVE A LOVELY SUNDAY MY FRIENDS. HUGS, QB S ![]()
PS. I'VE UPDATED MY QUILTCRAFTER BLOG WITH PICTURES.

My DIL is the smartest person around….Just ask her! (Says I tongue in cheek).
I just found out that she allowed my grandson to go to Mexico for Spring Break yesterday!! He is just 17 and from what I understand he is the oldest!! And what about the other parents?? With everything going on with airports, Mexico, drugs, terrorists ,the world in general, .would you let your 16-17 year old travel without adult supervision?? And traveling with an adukt is no guarantee either. I know you can’t protect them every minute but why out them in harms way?

Trish, I answered your PM.
Janet, I agree with you 100%. Look at what happened to Natalie Holiday. She was only 18 and had a "night out at a night club."
Last night I pinned all the triangles to the 13 blocks. There are 52 triangles and I'm sewing them today. When I finish this, I can move on to the next 13 blocks, which are floral and only need the triangles added.
The triangles are 4" squares. I'm supposed to draw a line in the center to sew on that line, then cut the back off to 1/4". Do you ladies draw this line or do you "wing it," lol? ![]()

I’m thinking you’re asking about HST? I don’t “wing” anything.
I draw a diagonal on the wrong side of the darkest square. Pin it to the other square and using a 1/4” foot foot, I stitch a line 1/4” away on both sides of the one I drew. Cut on the line I drew. Open, press to dark side and tada 2 HSTs. If you mark and stitch precisely you won’t have to trim nor square up. Make sense?
I just made 100 HST that way and not one had to be trimmed nor squared up.

Hello friends.
Devonne, when I make HST, I am like Janet in that I mark and sew and cut. I don't seem to be able to sew a straight line with out marking.
I just wanted to stop in and say hello. We got a phone call on Friday afternoon from Dean's blood doctor. The news is devastating to us; he has some type of leukemia. He has a scheduled appointment on Thursday at the Cleveland Clinic to see a specialist. We will find out more information then. I hate the hour long trip to Cleveland and now I will really hate it.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Not sure when I will get back on the board. I need to process what is happening.
Thanks all.

Cheryl, I’m so sorry. The less terrible news is now that there is a diagnosis, they can start treatment. I’m sending positive thoughts and good vibes your way.
Janet, has your DIL lost her mind? What a terrible idea! You must be a wreck worrying about him!
Devonne, is there a way to use thangles?

2. IT'S A FRAGMENT OF YOUR IMAGINATION.
3. THE HILLS WERE WORN DOWN BY EROTICISM.
ITS SUNNY AND WILL HIT 60 TODAY. NICE WEATHER FOR US BUT WON'T LAST.
CHERYL......I AM SO CONCERNED ABOUT YOU AND DEAN AFTER THIS NEWS BUT WITH ALL THE ADVANCES THEY HAVE MADE THESE DAYS, I AM PRAYING THE CLINIC HAS SOME GOOD NEWS FOR YOU AND HIS FUTURE. KEEPING MY THOUGHTS POSITIVE FOR YOU BOTH.![]()
JANET.......I'M AMAZED THAT THEY ARE ALLOWED SUCH A TRIP. THESE DAYS THE KIDS THINK THEY ARE INVINCIBLE. AND TO BE HONEST, THEY KNOW A LOT MORE ABOUT THE BAD THINGS IN THE WORLD THAN IN MY DAY. BEING IN A LARGER GROUP HELPS. LET'S HOPE THEY KEEP THEIR HEADS AND STAY SMART.
ITS MY BIRTHDAY WEEK SO I AM KEEPING ALL THE CHORES ON THE BACK BURNER AND WILL GET BACK TO THEM NEXT WEEK. I PLAN TO RELAX AND JUST DO THINGS I LIKE AND EAT WHAT I WANT THIS WEEK. I DID MY LAPS AND PLAN TO DO SOME CUTTING AND MAYBE SOME SEWING TODAY, LOTS OF READING, AND NO COOKING. I HAVE ENOUGH FOR SALAD AND SANDWICHES FOR TODAY.
STAY SAFE AND WARM. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Oh, Cheryl, I got cold shivers when I read this. My heart just breaks. Stay positive and hope for better news Thursday. Second Corinthians 1:3-4
Holly, I don't have any thangles. I've already pinned them to the blocks. Guess I will go ahead and draw those diagonal lines so it will be accurate.
Thanks, Janet! That's the way I've always done it. but not this time.
Going to be 74 today and 80's the next three days. I still haven't planted my bulbs yet. I hope they haven't died. I will do that after I get these other 13 blocks finished.

DEVONNE......YES, I TOO DRAW THE LINE TO BE ACCURATE WITH TRIANGLES.

It’s spring, Ralph the tick magnet had his first tick on his back. It was so small I needed a magnifying app to see it, it looked like a teeny scab. He emailed Rutgers to see if they are still doing the tick study, and they are, so he will mail it to them. Ticks are so skeevy. And they worry me because of alpha-gal, which Ed and my niece Naureen both have.
All I’ve accomplished today is to make a shopping list.
I’ve looked all over for 2 days for what I thought was a 28 mm rotary cutter, and finally ordered a new one. I mentioned it to him, and he went and found it in a mug in the sewing room, and turned out it was an 18 mm cutter, so I added new blades for it to my Amazon order.
Lisa the house cleaner comes tomorrow afternoon, yay!
Online!
Quick stop here.
Cheryl, such terrible news. My heart breaks for all of you. I know there are many treatments, but the diagnosis is so hard to hear.
I just saw on FB that our dear Sandie, Crazy'boutquilts, is in need of prayers. Her DSIL is in the hospital with no brain activity. He is being taken to an OR for organ donation.

Evening Y'all! ![]()
I have been MIA! I have hurt my shoulder and to sit, with it unsupported, for lengths of time starts it really hurting. Hubby set me up with my old laptop on the couch! I have been seeing a Chiropractor, thinking things were just out of alignment. He told me if it's not better this week he will x-ray it and we will go from there. I am wondering if I tore a muscle or something. It hurts! ![]()
Two Friday's ago I lost my Uncle in Canada. He was in memory care, had a heart attack and did not survive. My Aunt was devastated. My Uncle in Florida is not doing well. I am the middle man for my Niece, and brother, they let me know then I have to pass the information on. ![]()
Simba is doing good. He was a bad boy today. I do hand sewing in the evening. He got my spool of thread and chewed it! He was very close to needing a new home! I found some I could use, in my embroidery thread bin. Not sure why I put it there, but I did. Probably made sense at the time. ![]()
Luke was here for a few days, on his annual furlough. He and Todd went to Gettysburg, and a couple other battlefields. They found where one of Todd's great something grandfather passed, during the civil war, and found the cemetery where he was buried. No marker, he is "unknown". But it sounds awesome that they found all this. Luke can locate where people who were soldiers in the civil war are buried/died. It's some program he has access to. ![]()
Sara and Alex are doing the same. Sara is going to finish this summer, she is adding something to the thesis so it will be a tad longer. She is ready to be done. ![]()
I have been working on my FQ challenge for the retreat. I work a bit then go lay on the bed. With a heating pad. Then get up and go cut/sew some more. Today I went and found a bunch of needles, and sorted them into a multi-drawer case I found at Hobby Lobby. I labeled each type of needle. I have more to do. It was an easy task while on the bed. My head is elevated, so I can do these things, and I don't feel like I am wasting time. I may need another container. ![]()
My needles are in drawers, bins etc, and needed to be in one location, so I can find them when I need them. Feels good to get this project going. I keep finding them, is the sad part. I did not realize how many little bins of needles I have, I have had to buy some because I couldn't find what I needed. This should help! Now I have a bunch of little bins that are empty. Not crushed. I even found a bunch of needle threaders, I had no clue I had so many! They may need a bin or drawer. This does help organize my sewing room. ![]()
I do get my full walk in every day. By the time I get home, it's time for the heating pad and couch. I will be happy once this thing heals! ![]()
That's it in a nutshell. You are now caught up on my little corner of the world! ![]()
Later my Friends! ![]()

Theresa, I’d have thought that an X-ray or CT would have been done before anything else, to make a diagnosis. I’m sorry about your uncle. I’m down to two aunts by marriage, Mom’s siblings all died before she did.
I got a Walmart grocery order delivered. The store ran out of bags, so the poor driver had to lug a huge box of the groceries! I asked if she wanted some bags, and she was so happy when I gave her a bunch of them.
Can I say how terrible I am at mitered corners? I always mess up the first corner. I finally finished the hot pad. I also finished the counted cross stitch, it took 20 days because it’s small. Pic is up on my blog, which contains politics. I have to put it up on Facebook also.
I bought a pattern for a criss cross apron that is reversible. I’m waiting for the 28 mm cutter to do the neckline and armhole cuts. I got cute chicken fabric that I’m making one for Heather from.
It’s 76 here! Windy, too.
Sorry to hear about Darrell falling, and about Sandie’s SIL.

Linda, that’s great Darrell could be seen a lot sooner. I hope the PT helps him.
Theresa, how did you hurt your shoulder? So sorry for the pain you are in. Emily had rotator cuff surgery twice. She hurt it when she was driving a school bus years ago and fell.
I had my first gel shots in my knees this morning. I was so anxious about the shots, but they didn’t hurt as bad as I thought. they give you numbing shots first. She said they worked for 50% of people. I hope I am in that 50%! It takes 4 to 6 weeks for them to take full effect.I have bulbs to plant, but she said I couldn’t do anything for two days. darn it!
I will work on the blocks later today. I need to press them and square them up.I did a very nontraditional way for the triangles. Since I already had them pinned to the blocks, I did a pressing line and sewed on the pressing line. I have never done that before, but it worked just fine! I cut the excess fabric off the back while talking to Greg, lol.
