I posted on last weeks thread, CHERYL also posted and some may have missed it.
It's almost bed time LOL I am tired, woke at 4am and then had a little extra at around 6am but up before 7, so I am tired, hadn't got much sleep LOL
I made the roast, it was OK, and I also made the flummery with whipping cream, not a fan of that one, I'll do the evaporated milk one if I do it again, it makes a lot!
Seep tomorrow, sleep dreams (((hugs)))

I have spent most of this past week cutting fabric for an upcoming class. 14 different colors! A bazillion pieces….including some cut with templates….finally done and labeled. Now to pre fabric for the second class…
I also have to prep for a retreat that is the week before that. 😵💫

Cheryl…sorry to read about your DH.
Holly- you asked but I don’t think I answered…gson is going for Mechanical engineering, but I suppose that could change. I was hoping he was going to come to VA for college, but the NY school offered him more $$ towards tuition and $$ to play volleyball and they are accepting his associate degree.

STOP THE PRESSES!
1. JOINING WALLACE ON STAGE WERE NEW SCHOOL COMMITTEE-WOMAN ELVIRA PIXIE PALLADINO AND BOSTON CITY COUNCILMAN ALBERT (DAPPER) O'NEIL, BOTH ACTIVE OPPONENTS OF COURT-ORDERED BUSING AND WALLACE'S WIFE.
2. HEAR PAUL LUCAS. THE COMPLETE DOPE ON THE WEATHER.
ITS SNOWING. VERY WET AND MAYBE A HALF INCH SO FAR BUT THEY SAY IT WILL STOP VERY SOON. I HOPE WE DON'T GET THE 3-5 INCHES THEY CHANGED IT TO YESTERDAY.
MY SON SHOPPED YESTERDAY. HE HAD SOME OF THE NEW CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP AND SOME OF THE NEW TATER TOT CASSEROLE FOR LUNCH. THE SOUP I WILL NOT MAKE AGAIN. RIGHT OFF THE STOVE IT WAS VERY GOOD, BUT WHEN SAVED IN THE FRIDGE, IT SOAKED UP ALL THE BROTH. ADDING MORE WATER DID NOT IMPROVE THE BLAND FLAVOR AT THAT POINT.
THE CASSEROLE ON THE OTHER HAND, GOT RAVES FROM 2 NEIGHBORS PLUS NOT ONLY MY SON, BUT HIS WIFE WHO NEVER TEXTS ME BACK ON THE FOOD I SEND HOME WITH MY SON. IT WAS A RECIPE FOR A HASH BROWN SAUSAGE CASSY BUT I ONLY HAD TATER TOTS. IT INCLUDED FRENCH ONION DIP AND SOUR CREAM IN THE INGREDIENTS. VERY GOOD. IT COSTS MORE TO MAKE, BUT I WILL USE IT MORE OFTEN NOW. I'M SURE THE POTATOES ADDED AREN'T A BIG FACTOR.
HE WAS ALSO ABLE TO PUT TOGETHER MY NEW PEDESTAL FAN. IT HAS 5 BLADES AND 5 SPEEDS AND I LOVE IT. EVEN ON LOW IT GIVES A GREAT BREEZE.
CHERYL.....I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR HOW DEAN IS SUFFERING WITH THIS MALADY THAT NO ONE SEEMS TO UNDERSTAND. HE SOUNDS IN PAINFUL SHAPE. I WISH I HAD A SOLUTION. CROSSING MY FINGERS AND SENDING POSITIVE THOUGHTS IT FIXES ITSELF OR THE MEDS WORK THEIR MAGIC IN A SHORT TIME. POOR MAN. HUGS DEAN.![]()
I STARTED A NEW PUZZLE YESTERDAY SO MAY WORK ON THAT A BIT TODAY SINCE I NEVER EVEN FINISHED THE BORDER PIECES. THEN THERE'S MY READING WHICH IS FALLING BEHIND.
ITS MY DAY OF REST LADIES SO YOU KNOW ME, NOTHING HAPPENING HERE. I HAVE LEFTOVERS TO EAT AND I WILL MAKE UP A TUNA SALAD IN CASE I FEEL LIKE EATING SOMETHING DIFFERENT.
STAY WARM AND SAFE MY FRIENDS. HUGS, QB S ![]()

It’s 78 and a gorgeous southern day. Going up to 83. I wish I had suggested going on a picnic!
CHERYL,, my heart breaks for you and Dean. I hope they can find the cause really soon. So worrisome for both of you. Hugs!

Thank you all for the prayers for Dean. We are going day by day. Some days are good, others not so much. Today is a terrible day. It is just such a shock to see him looking like an old man with the slow unsteady movements and shakiness. One month ago he was is prime condition. We NEVER know what is going to happen.
It was warm today but they are calling for severe storms this evening and tonight. Large hail possible with high winds. I hope we do not lose power.
Thinking of you all. Take care.

SANDRA I guess it seems early to be needing a fan, but I know you feel the heat - like me, I was wondering if it's getting older that is my problem, I really feel it more these days.
CHERYL I understand how you feel, you would both be in shock, he has been fit and healthy, and to be so sick so suddenly must be really hard to cope with. Let alone the not knowing ((((hugs)))) sending love to you both
SANDRA forgot to say, can you post the recipe, for th new one you like sounds like a few might like it!
I forgot to say THANK YOU to all for the potato soup ideas, not my thing I guess, I prefer not so much potato, but that's just me, I don't eat much (white) potato any time, I do love pumpkin, and would happily devour pumpkin soup. I like the chowder type soups, they have potato, but not tons of it LOL I make a nice corn/bacon one.
DEVONNE We have had those temps at night now for a while, seems like my house is getting warmer during the night, but still nice outside in the evenings. I guess the heat is dropping through the roof and keeping us warmer.
I have so many leftovers, lots from the roast so I guess we might have my hash-up with that tonight, we also have leftover Chinese food from Sat night.
I did a fair bit of my jigsaw, I am just putting pieces together now, and hopefully will find out where they go later LOL I now have a rather large section put together, but no idea how it fits to the bottom of the puzzle where I think it should go. better check the pic LOL

MALAPROPS......
1. THE DEFENDANT PLEADED EXTERMINATING CIRCUMSTANCES.
2. I ATE IN A RESTAURANT TODAY WHERE THE FOOD WAS ABDOMINAL.
WE GOT MAYBE 2" OF THE WHITE STUFF BUT IT STARTED MELTING AS IT FELL. ITS PRETTY CLEAR THIS MORNING. TEMPS IN THE LOW 30S TODAY. MY WINDOW IS OPEN.
I GUESS I HAVE TO CALL MAINTENANCE. MY TUB WON'T DRAIN. AFTER MY SHOWER THE WATER WAS ABOUT 2 INCHES DEEP AND IT WOULDN'T GO DOWN. I TRIED DRANO 3 TIMES AND ITS STILL NO GOING ANYWHERE. TIME FOR A PLUMBER.
I WILL POST THE SAUSAGE AND TATER TOT RECIPE ON OUR THREAD LATER. ITS VERY GOOD. GOT THUMBS UP FROM BOTH NEIGHBORS PLUS MY SON AND HIS WIFE. I, TOO, LIKED IT BETTER THAN MY ORIGINAL CASSEROLE.
TODAY I START CLEANING MY BATHROOM. HOW APROPOS. WITH THE TUB MALFUNCTIONING. I NEED TO GET MY BATHROOM CLOSET IN ORDER. I DID HALF OF IT LAST MONTH. THE OTHER HALF IS SCHEDULED TODAY. OR THIS WEEK DEPENDING ON WHEN A PLUMBER WILL BE HERE.
USUAL THINGS HAPPENING HERE. I ENJOY MY DAYS. I DO THINGS THAT MAKE ME SMILE AND WATCH MOVIES THAT DO THE SAME. WHAT COULD BE BETTER.
STAY SAFE MY FRIENDS. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Cheryl, I'm so sorry that Dean is ill! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I hope they find easy answers soon!
I'm sorry I've been missing so much! We've been going nonstop since my brother's stroke, and his hubby's ablation. Hubby is doing well, and my brother is very slowly improving but he is still paralyzed on his left side, but able to move his left a little. 🙏🏻
We had snow the last weekend of winter, which was crazy because it was the most snow we'd seen all winter.
Quick update about me: I've lost 25 pounds since November 1! 💃🏼
Back when I can. I'm trying to get used to my new phone. 😄

TRISH.....I POSTED THE SAUSAGE AND TATER TOT RECIPE WITH PERSONAL NOTES ADDED.
SINCE YOU ASKED, I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A HOT BABY. THE HEAT KNOCKS ME OUT. I ONCE PASSED OUT FROM THE HEAT WHEN IT WAS 93F OUTSIDE AND EVEN WITH FANS GOING IN MY OFFICE AT THE NEWSPAPER WHERE I WORKED. WE DID NOT HAVES A/C BACK THEN. WHEN I CAME TO, THE EMTS GAVE ME A GLASS OF WATER WITH SALT IN IT AND IT TASTED WONDERFUL. NORMALLY ONE CANNOT DRINK THAT STUFF BUT I NEEDED IT BADLY EVIDENTLY.
TODAY ITS ONLY 31*f OUTDOORS AND I HAVE MY LIVING ROOM WINDOW OPEN FOR FRESH COOL AIR. MY APT TEMP READS 77* WITHOUT ANY HEAT ON.
THE FUNNY THING IS, WHEN I'M OUTDOORS IN THE COLD I CAN FEEL THE COLD LIKE ANY NORMAL PERSON. ITS JUST WHEN THE AIR AROUND ME GETS TOO WARM, MY BODY REBELS.
HUGS GIRL. QB S ![]()

Back to freezing temps again. It was 75* on Saturday and I walked two laps in the driveway, with the walker. I had so much back pain last week I could barely walk but about midway thru our necessary trek at the grocery store on Friday ( w/the cart), suddenly, noticeably, the pain let up, and has been much better since. So, without excuses or lack of motivation, I must must do some walking every day. (How often have I said that and even told you that?
)
Cheryl, prayers for Dean. Bless his heart. Having never heard of it, I looked up that possible dx. Who knew? There are so many maladies that are mysterious and the lay person has never heard of. I will pray for wisdom for the doctors and relief for him and peace for you. ![]()
ML and Bill were going to take the train into Chicago and meet Andrew for lunch yesterday, but they postponed it until next Sunday (his only day off with busy tax season) because of the cold and wind and neither of them slept well enough. He has 3 weeks to go and then his work week will go down to 35 hours/wk. He's tolerating it well, but did order his groceries delivered.
We have a busy week. Another acquaintance passed away so ML and I will attend her funeral on Wed. evening. Our men didn't know her that well. I also have a Echo cardiogram at noon on Wed. ML will come again tomorrow afternoon for a organizing session in the office/br. I'm sure I can fritter away the rest of the week!
Have been sewing on a small project that I picked up at a garage sale years ago--a small printed motif of a girl in a sunbonnet made into a pot holder?? I loved the print and wasn't sure I could take it apart and redo it into something decorative but it's been rather fun and challenging and I'm happy with it. All by hand as that's my choice, now. I reused all the parts because I wanted to keep the vintage patina of it.
Better go. Howard is prowling around probably trying to find something for his lunch. Oh, BTW, the crockpot potato soup was a winner, here. I added 1 Tablespoon of minced onion and will probably add a bit more, next time, or even some chopped green onion. Anway, it will probably make three meals for us and was so super easy. Thanks Holly.

I ordered a wool pressing mat at 10:30 pm. It was here at 6:30 am. Amazon is quick on coffee deliveries too.
Diana, congrats on losing 25 lbs.! That was fast. It took me since September to lose 27.5 lbs. I hope your brother gets his feeling back on his left side. Faith and prayers!
I haven't bought potatoes in a long time, but I wanted to do a taste test for fries in the air fryer. I got Yellow, Idaho and Russet. I couldn't tell a difference in the Idaho and Russet, but the Yellow ones were better...more done, more tender and a good flavor. I'll invite Gary & the kids over to help me get rid of them, lol. I have never bought the yellow ones before.
I am in my sewing room. I'm going to press these 13 strips and cut them down to 3" pieces. I have gotten really bad about being sedentary and I know it's not good for me. I am trying to do better this week. I read on the internet if you still drive that you should get out at least 3 times a week. I'm going to try doing that, but I have become so content at staying home.
Next week I will be getting gel shots in my knee(s?), It takes 4 to 6 weeks for them to start working. Some folks have good luck with them and some don't.

My favorite potatoes are the Yukon Gold yellow ones. They cost a bit more but are worth it to me, taste-wise and texturally.
Devonne, I guess we're all always trying to improve something. Make it better for us or others. I love hearing about yours and others next endeavors. ![]()
I only have two close local friends left. Cheryl and Bobbie. So when one of them calls, no matter what I'm doing or have planned is skuttled so we can catch up. Cheryl called today and we had a nice long, 1 1/2 hr. 'chat'. We've been friends for more than 60 years. Bobbie has the added responsibilities for her two mother-less grandchildren, daily, so her calls are infrequent, too. She's up and out of the house every morning to get them off to school. Their dad, her son, a teacher leaves earlier than that. Because of the time spent talking to Cheryl, we're having l/o potato soup instead of the baked chicken breasts I'd planned on. Thankfully! ![]()
Have a good evening and sweet dreams.

INDY I do like the occasional yellow potato, I rarely eat white potato - it just seems to make me feel "off" LOL no idea why, and it could be just imagination. Hope they can get to see A soon, those long phone calls do take time, but it's so important to talk with friends, my girlfriends (and sis) can often take a long time, but life is short!!
SANDRA thanks for the recipe, I know that everyone will appreciate it. Very kind of you to write it out. I guess I am the same, I feel the cold, but the heat really knocks me about. I like these nights of ours that are cooler, I love my quilts.
DEVONNE did they decide to definitely go to Hawaii, I know our flights are getting expensive, and our fuel is pretty bad right now, it's doubled since Christmas, not fun, especially for those who have to drive lots for work, you would all be feeling it too.
CHERYL hope Dean is having a better day, the bone marrow biopsy might tell you something, or give a clue for treatment (((hugs)))
I went to training then to the hairdresser and then to pick up Dean, he has another exam tomorrow, then on 2nd April they break for 2 weeks, he's looking forward to that.
Too funny today 2 of our bubs at training have started to walk, they both got a shock to see the other standing and walking LOL Going to be fun for the coaches keeping them enclosed when all 4 of them are moving. They all give us a big smile now when we talk to them, and they crawl around and happily get in the way in on exercise mats, it's so good for the mums to be with each other.

SIGNS OF THE TIMES......
1. IN A TACOMA, WASHINGTON, MEN'S CLOTHING STORE: 15 MEN'S WOOL SUITS---$10.00---THEY WON'T LAST AN HOUR.
2. ON AN INDIANA SHOPPING MALL MARQUEE: ARCHERY TOURNAMENT. EARS PIERCED.
TODAY ITS IN THE 30Sf AND SUNNY. WE GOT ANOTHER DUSTING LAST EVENING BUT NOT MUCH. THE BIG FLUFFY FLAKES SURE DID LOOK PRETTY THO.
WELL, I HAVE A STORY TO TELL. AT THE TIME I WAS SHOCKED.
TIM FROM MAINT. CAME TO CHECK OUT MY SHOWER DRAIN NOT WORKING. I TOLD HIM I USED DRANO 3 TIMES AND IT DIDN'T HELP. I ALSO USED MY PLUNGER. HE WENT IN MY BATHROOM AND 5 SECONDS LATER CAME OUT AND SAID "ALL FIXED." YUP, I HAD ACCIDENTALLY CLOSED THE DRAIN STOPPER.
ITS NEVER USED BECAUSE YOU CAN'T TAKE A BATH. IT'S A LOW-SIDE STEP-IN TUB. HENCE, I NEVER CLOSE THE DRAIN. SOMEHOW I DID THIS TIME. NEVER NOTICED EITHER. BRAIN FOG.
ALL IS WELL. TIM REMOVED THE STOPPER GIZMO COMPLETELY SO I CANNOT ACCIDENTLY CLOSE THE DRAIN AGAIN. HE SAID THEY'VE HAD TO REMOVE MANY OF THEM THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS SO MAYBE I'M NOT THE ONLY DUMMY. THE GOOD THING IS MY DRAIN IS SO CLEAN AFTER ALL THAT DRANO COURSED THRU IT. DUH. ![]()
I DID MY LAPS AND WILL DO SOME SEWING TODAY. CLEANED OUT MY BATHRM CLOSET YESTERDAY. I HAD ONLY DONE THE TOP 2 SHELVES WITH THE TOWELS LAST MONTH. THIS TIME I DID THE REST. ENDED UP WITH 3 BACK BRACES, AT LEAST 4 KNEE BRACES AND SEVERAL WRIST/HAND BRACES. NOW I HAVE EVERYTHING IN ITS PROPER PLACE AND A LIST TAPED TO THE DOOR JAMB SO I KNOW WHAT'S WHERE. I WON'T BE BUYING ANY MORE BRACES ANYTIME SOON.
STARTED PLAYING SOLITAIRE WITH MY DECK OF CARDS. I FIND THAT WHEN I DO IT ON THE PUTER MY RIGHT WRIST AND MY THUMB GET SORT OF NUMB AFTER A WHILE. I GUESS I MAY HAVE TO USE ONE OF THOSE BRACES. ![]()
ANYWAY, THE CHORES TODAY WON'T BE BAD. I HOPE TO WORK ON THE JIGSAW PUZZLE AND DO SOME CATCHING UP WITH MY READING TODAY AS WELL.
SINCE I WAS TOO LATE TO MAKE MY PORK CHOP SUPPER I WILL MAKE IT TONITE. I HAD A TUNA SUB LAST NITE INSTEAD.
STAY SAFE EVERYONE. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Sandra, that’s too funny! I’m glad it was an easy fix.
Cheryl, you must be frantic! I’m hoping you and Dean get some answers soon!
Judy, I’m glad you like the potato soup, we froze some.
yesterday we went and got hair trims, it had been since December. I like the trims, but wish the stylists would just shut up, already.
The local drive in restaurant opens today, so we’re going for lunch later. It’s sunny but only in the 40’s.

Well, I've had two belly laughs from QB--her quips and her shower drain saga! ![]()
![]()
Makes me feel good on two levels. The jokes are always funny and I've done so many bone-headed things like the that that I surely can identify! (No offence, QB.) Nice when we can laugh at ourself...
Howard needs and is getting a new computer. Don't ask me what. He's given me a blow by blow account of it all and most of it went over my head. I did tell him about the Neo that was discussed here, and he had heard about it. But he needs one that has a larger screen and that does more???? He more or less lives on his computer.
Trish, how fun to get to see the babies start walking. They are so proud of themselves when they do. I haven't been around a baby in a coon's age. And the new ones coming in Howard's family are far away even if we were in touch. Sounds like Dean has earned his coming time off. Another perk for all of us here is we get to hear about each other's offspring and what they all they are doing.
Talk about extended family...![]()
ML is coming at 1 o'clock for our second session in the guest room/office. We/SHE accomplish quite a bit last week so maybe this won't be the unending task we thought it would be. Howard says he's going to Menard's while she's here.
He has a few things earmarked to pick up. It's takes a long time to find anything in that huge store. One thing he is getting on sale is a pack of clothes pins. We can't always find a clip for our chips, etc., and they work quite well.
I need to do a few things before she comes, so with that, I'll say adieu. Have a good day. ![]()
