Deepest sympathy to BJs family. She will be missed.
Dean is out of the hospital, but they still do not know what is problem is. Has to see a hematologist next week for more testing. In the mean time we all wear masks and he stays away from people and crowds.
That is it for now.
Offline
Cheryl, fingers crossed that more tests will reveal the problem.
BJ's girls should be so very proud of themselves. They did an amazing job as loving daughters. So difficult for Frank. I know too well the feeling of losing a spouse and we had 52 years together. Weren't they together like 60 years or more? Tracy, my heart is aching for you. ![]()
Judy, it is acrylic paints. Right now I'm working on a huge peacock and I have to stand to paint it...doing a little at a time so I don't get tired. I think I bit off more than I can chew, lol. Will probably work in my sewing room since I need a place for paints, brushes, etc.
Hannah has decided to home school the kids, so they never went back to public school after the baseball trip to Houston.

We will all miss BJ and I will always remember and appreciate her participation here almost daily knowing it was hard for her the past year or so. Blessings and love to the Kendall family. Prayers for them and especially for Frank. ![]()
Wow! we just had the most terrific rain/hail storm I've ever seen. Am home alone as this is Howard's VA day. It was so scary, I left the sunroom for the main part of the house. Thought the windows might break. Now, part of the house has no power. Part does??? I'm just waiting til he gets home as it doesn't seem to be any emergency. Oddly, the generator is not running.
Springlike, the sun came out blindingly immediately after the storm and all is quiet now. I'm wondering if we'll have an early spring. March 6 is most usually still winter here and 70 degree temps are expected next week.
Cheryl, so glad to hear Dean is home. And that he'll be followed up until it's figured out just what he does have...if I got that right? It's been so worrisome for you. And you're still dealing with the broken toes, etc. Hugs and love to you both.
and prayers.
Devonne, thanks for the info about your latest hobby. Sound like it would be rewarding. It's hard to stand very long to do anything. I had a now departed friend, Kay, who always wanted me to take painting lessons with her but I didn't feel that was my thing. I always rather would work with fabrics or threads in some way. She gifted me with a couple of her painting. Love peacocks and have always had at least one feather to display.
I've had 3 days in a row that Howard has gone somewhere. I actually forgot this one this morning, but he remembered. Yesterday was his 76th birthday and he had lunch with Dave. and though it had been mentioned when Dave called, Dave didn't mention it yesterday and neither did Howard. (I might not have either.
) It was definitely a low-key b.d.--his sister must have forgotten it as she didn't call or text. I'm not going to call her and make her feel bad. I just hope they're all okay?? Nothing like noodling here and telling all your minute and useless thoughts, is there? ![]()
So with that, I'll close. Need to figure out supper and do something about it.

I'm so sorry to read about BJ. I knew she didn't have long. Tracey and Rhonda and their husbands are to be commended for all they have done and will do for Frank. I had a lovely evening with Tracey and BJ on November 3, 2017 when we went to dinner after the Astros World Series Victory Parade. They came for the quilt show, and they got to help us celebrate a big trophy! That night is still such a fond memory.
Cheryl, I hope Dean is doing better, that the doctors figure it out quickly, and that you are doing okay with your own issues plus Dean's. It always seems to happen all at once, doesn't it?
Linda, worried about Darryl and his falls.
Devonne, good for you for taking up something new. Rerouting brain cells to learn new things keeps us young.
Trish, I hope you're taking care of yourself in the heat. Are you paying attention to electrolytes as well as staying hydrated?
Sandra, how did Bingo go? You're so smart to pace yourself on the chores and keep up with them.
Theresa, I'm cleaning up the spare bedroom just in case you need to fly in.
Not much new here. I'm not doing much at the ballpark since I had a big blowup with my boss. We're not speaking. I've been in the yard every day, Glen and I are taking a class on Napoleon, and I'm trying to finish sewing projects. Determined to finish some before starting others. Making miniscule progress.
Okay, I'm going to do my treadmill session then go pick up Chinese food for dinner. Much love to all.

When I was staying with Manda after Amary was born, BJ and Tracy came and picked me up and we went to a quilt shop and had a lovely visit. The following year, Manda, Amary and I met BJ at a quilt shop and went out to lunch. So I have fond memories or her and Tracy.
Apple is releasing a new laptop called the MacBook Neo, and I ordered one in pink. Inexpensive and cute. It should be delivered the end of March.
Devonne, doesn’t Hannah work full time? How will she give the kids’ education the focus it deserves?
I made sloppy joes and broccoli for dinner, couldn’t tell you the last time I made them. Plenty left for his lunch.
Judy, Happy Birthday to Howard!
I finished the fabric book, and have moved on to making tablecloths for Manda. I have to watch a video on rolled hem foot, since I’ve never used it.
Linda, I watched a bit of the Hometown quilt lady, and I couldn’t watch long because of her accent.
Time changes tomorrow night, so we’ll all be jet lagged for a week.
Offline
Holly- funny when you say that. I’ve never experienced jet jag when we’ve changed the clocks. Before the clocks, watches, iPhones, etc changed automatically I was late/early for work a few times. lol Most of our clocks except on the ovens and micro change on their own.
Overcast, foggy but very warm right now. Rain and thunder expected today and tonight. Plans for this weekend? Getting ready for two upcoming quilt retreats.
We had a short trip planned but I 81 is having road work with closures and delays so we’re staying put. Ok with me because it’s also going to be rainy.
The painter are done. 3 days. Now we have to get some furniture, etc as they are totally empty. I plan to take over one of the bedrooms for additional sewing, crafting, etc. I think DH plans to use his for music and doing models etc.
Did I mention that my older grandson is graduating this year? He was accepted at every engineering school that he applied to. He will graduate HS with an associate degree. He has been taking courses at the University. Several of the schools offered him athletic and academic scholarships.

MISPELLINGS.......
1. MOST TEACHERS COULD CARELESS ABOUT THE PERSONAL PROBLEMS OF THEIR STUDENTS.
2. THE PISTOL OF A FLOWER IS ITS ONLY PROTECTION AGAINST INSECTS.
ITS GOING TO BE WARM TODAY. HITTING THE MID 40S THEY TELL US. AND SUNNY. THE SNOW SHOULD BE MELTING QUITE A BIT TODAY.
CHERYL........SORRY ABOUT THERE BEING NO DIAGNOSIS FOR DEAN. I HOPE ANY MEDS HE'S TAKING DO THE TRICK AND HE'S WELL VERY SOON. HUGS DEAN.
AND YOU, HOW ARE THE TOES COMING ALONG? CAN YOU WALK BETTER THESE DAYS?
JANET.......HOW NICE YOUR GRANDSON DOES SO WELL IN SCHOOL AND CAN CHOOSE ANY OF SEVERAL COLLEGS WHEN HE GRADUATES. HE MUST BE VERY INTELLIGENT.
I MADE THE PASTA FAGIOLI SOUP (PRONOUNCED PASTA FAZOOL BY MANY AN ITALIAN). SHARED WITH A COUPLE AS GUINEA PIGS TO SEE IF IT WAS ANY GOOD. THEY ARE ALWAYS EAGER TO TRY A NEW DISH FOR ME. IT PASSED THE TASTE TEST VERY WELL. I MADE THE MEATY VERSION WITH GROUND BEEF IN IT. THERE IS A VEGGY VERSION WITHOUT, BUT WE ARE MEAT EATERS IN THIS FAMILY. MY SON SHOPS TODAY SO HE WILL BE HAVING SOME FOR LUNCH AND TAKING SOME HOME TODAY.
I HAVE VERY FEW PLANS FOR THE DAY. I MAY WORK THE PUZZLE AGAIN. I AM REALLY ENJOYING THIS ONE BUT IT NOW HAS MANY PIECES THAT LOOK ALIKE FOR THE OTHER HALF. IT WILL BE TOUGHER TO DO AT THIS POINT.
I HAVE A CRAVING FOR MEATBALLS AND SPAGHETTI SO I THINK THAT'S WHAT I WILL COOK LATER TODAY FOR MY SUPPER.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S ![]()

It's and Ps for the Kendalls.
Continued prayers for DEAN AS WELL.
JANET, THAT IS WONDERFUL ABOUT YOUR GRANDSON. IT AMAZES ME WHEN STUDENTS GRADUATE HS WITH SOME COLLEGE AS WELL.
HOLLY SORRY HER ACCENT BOTHERED YOU. I DIDN'T GET TO WATCH ALL OF THE VIDEO FOR A RECTANGLE BASKET. KINDA LIKE A PEACH BASKET. MAYBE A PATTERN OR TEMPLATE FOR IT ON HER SITE. I LIKE HER WHIMSY. Cute ghost Halloween templates too. AT ONE OF THE AQS SHOWS OUR GROUP FROM HERE GOT TO TALKING WITH A GROUP FROM MASSACHUSETTS. WE GOT A BIG KICK OUT OF OUR DIFFERENT ACCENTS. TOO FUNNY.
JANET, I81 IS A PAIN IN THE TUSH EVEN IN BEST OF CONDITIONS. DON'T THINK YOU WERE HERE WHEN THEN GOVERNOR TIM KAINE CLOSED MOST OF THE RESTSTOPS ON THE INTERSTATES. IT WAS AWFUL. CLAIMED BUDGET CUTS. The DAY IT
Thinking of everyone. Prayers............
ETA TO ADD: I WENT TO A SPRINKLE ABOUT A YEAR AGO. WHEN MY MOM PG WITH ME, FRIENDS AND FAMILY HAD "STORM" FOR HER. THE GUYS WERE INCLUDED SO THEY DECIDED TO CALL IT A STORM INSTEAD OF A SHOWER.

Janet, that’s great! What kind of engineering and has he picked a school? Manda is engineering physics, and Ben is aeronautical engineering.
Dual credits have been around for a while now. My girls and now grandchildren have all graduated high school with at least a semester’s worth of credits.
I made the first two tablecloths for Manda. I watched videos on the rolled hem foot, and decided to do a 1/4 inch hem all around, fold them over and do another 1/4 inch hem so no raw edges. I have another 4 to make from fabrics she picked from my stash of large pieces.
Dinner tonight is Olive Garden soup, baked potatoes, and my leftover half a burger.
Janet, lucky you for not getting jet lagged!
Thinking of BJ’s Frank and their daughters and families.

For me, I wouldn't say I feel jet-lagged. It's more that time already flies and each and every day of daylight savings time, I'm always looking at the clock and can't believe it's as late as it is. In other words, I always feel pressured and rushed. Admittedly, that is rather silly, but it's still a fact. Therefore, tonight, I plan to be in bed by 10, which should make me wake up a bit earlier, and ignore the clock and not compare what it IS to what WAS. Last year, I decided to buck up and accept it and shut up about it...something I haven't done here, today!
I do love the thought and reality of springtime.
(Howard dislikes the change, too.)
I just got off a very long call with my neighbor. She called to say her chickens are laying again and that she has two dozen eggs for me. But...I have 3 dozen in the frig because they've been $1.00 a dozen around here for several weeks. She charges $3/doz. but backyard eggs do have more taste and I want to support her. The rooster has been crowing these past few warmer days.
Hope you all have a good weekend. Thinking of Dean and Cheryl. And the Kendall family.

Cheryl, thinking of you and Dean and sending a "big ole bear hug" as Bonnie used to say.
Prayers for the Kendall family. ![]()
Carol, good time to have that blow up. With Spring here, now you can enjoy working in your yard.![]()
Holly, yes, she works full time and I have that same question, lol.
Don't see how that can possibly work out.
It's Gary I feel sorry for because he will have the kids every day now.
My days and nights are so mixed up, I guess the time change won't matter much to me, lol, ![]()
Janet, that's great news about your grandson!

Good rainy afternoon friends. We have had bouts of heavy downpour and then sun. We just got a tornado warning effective until 8 pm.
Sandra, my family loves the pasta fagioli. I looked up an Olive Garden recipe a long while back and make it. It also freezes well.
Holly, I have seen those Macbook Neos advertised. They look awesome. Of course, Aaron just bought Amelia a MacBook for Christmas and paid a lot for it. This would have been much much better for her. How wonderful that both you and Carol got to spend time in person with our lovely BJ and family.
Janet, congratulations to your grandson! My grandaughter will be a few credits short of her associates when she graduates high school this year. She only did the college credit plus program her senior year. My grandson, Gabriel, is also doing it. He wants to take an extra math class this summer so he will be ready for his senior year. It is a huge savings for the parents because the local high schools pay the tuition. Abby thinks she wants to be a Special Education teacher. (for now) She was going to do sign language, then occupational therapist. lol. It is a hard decision for kids.
Devonne, congrats to you for learning a new skill. My son, Anthony does that and does it well! He has watched youtube videos and taught himself to play a drum set rather well. Now he is learning guitar and is doing great. He is also taking a twice a month lesson from an instructor. He just loves learning. Son Aaron is doing water color painting and also drawing on his ipad with some special pen. They are both trying to get away from so much computer.
Good luck to Hannah on the home schooling. It is not easy. When Kelli Woods's DIL started to home school Kelli's grandchildren, Kelli hated it. She did not think her DIL had enough of her own education, just a high school diploma. But the kids seem to be doing fine. They live outside Birmingham, Alabama, and they did not want to send them to public school. The DIL is a stay at home mom, so the learning gets done early in the mornings. Then they use the afternoons for field trips, etc.
