THANK GOODNESS OUR BJ IS BEING TAKEN CARE OF BY HOSPICE NOW. I HOPE THINGS ARE GOING AS WELL AS CAN BE EXPECTED. PRAYERS FOR BJ AND HER FAMILY.
I HAVE SPENT OVER AN HOUR HERE WITH A SPECTRUM TECH IN MY APT. HE SET UP MY NEW MODEM (THEY ARE WEEDING OUT THE OLD ONES IT SEEMS), AND THEN I COULD NOT GET INTERNET. HE HAD TO SET ME UP WITH A NEW WI-FI ROUTER. PROBABLY ANOTHER MONTHLY CHARGE. BUT AT LAST, ALL IS WELL AND I CAN GET MY INTERNET. IT TOOK OVER AN HOUR TO GET SET UP. THE POOR GUY MUST BE RUNNING BEHIND SCHEDULE NOW. HE SAID MY COMPUTER IS MUCH TOO SLOW. I NEED A NEW ONE. I AGREED WITH HIM. I JUST HATE NEW THINGS SO HAVE BEEN PUTTING IT OFF. SOMEDAY IN MY FUTURE A NEW COMPUTER WILL BE ADDED.
I AM ALL STRUNG OUT WITH ALL THE HASSLE HERE SO WILL NOT POST ANYTHING MORE. I NEED TO TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND RELAX.
HATE TECHINICAL PROBLEMS.
HAVE A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Holly, thanks for the good news about hospice for our dear BJ.
I am learning how to paint (on my own). It may be a hobby I pursue or not, lol.
Today I'm redoing my canvas background because it's not the look I want.
Carter has the flu. Greg is still not back to normal. He's been back home from Japan one week.
I fixed something different that will make two dinner meals. Cooked ground beef, cooked 4 grated zucchinis until tender, added italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Added the ground beef and spaghetti sauce to the zucchini. Added mushrooms. It's really good but will be better when I add the onions later.
Hope you get good results from your blood tests, Trish.

Good Afternoon. Chilly out. Gray. My kind of day, occasionally, if I can stay inside. I know I'm in the minority and wouldn't want this day after day. Howard had lunch with the ROMEOS and a short stop at W-M.
He brought in the mail with an invitation to a SPRINKLE. Both of us: What's that??
It was from his grandson and his wife. We guessed they might be getting baptized??? Thanks to Google, we learned it's a like a baby shower but on a smaller scale for a second child...or third or fourth! Due to wintertime driving 3 hours there and 3 back, the fact that we've been ostracized from David's family for years, now...and that his 1st great grandson was born a month early so the shower was canceled, we weren't able to attend that shower 3 years ago. We sent a money gift, though, and this is the only grandchild who ever contacts us, albeit only for something like this. Anyway, Howard is willing to go and since this will be in May instead of Dec., we're going to plan to. It would be a chance to at least see all of them, awkward as that might be. (BTW, ML thought it might be a baptism, too!
)
Devonne, I think unless you're in your 20s, it just takes awhile to recover from traveling. I know it took ML 3 days to rest up from going to Florida, a 3-hr. flight from Chicago. And the time difference to Japan would tank most people...I would think. Sorry Carter is sick.
Kudos for learning to paint on your own. Are you doing watercolors, or acrylics or some other type of paint? It would be faster than sewing/quilting. Where do you do it? Sewing room or kitchen table, or...? Your meal sounds delicious. I made a casserole last evening using ground beef, chopped onions, browned together, added 1 can drained, green beans, 1 can mushroom soup, 1 c. milk S and P to taste and 8 oz cooked noodles. I add a few dashes of Worchester. Cheese on top. It was bland & tasteless.
I'd eaten it before, thought it was so good, I asked for the recipe. There's a lot leftover so I'm going to try to add something to it to make it more tasty.
But, not tonight. Since H. ate out, he's going to have a frozen entree for his supper. I might, too, or I'm always good for a scrambled egg or two.
Since I never made it back upstairs to my sewing room, yesterday, that's where I'm headed, now. Have a good evening and sweet dreams.

Afternoon y'all! ![]()
Quiet both here and on the boards! Where is everyone? ![]()
Got my walk in. Went to pick up a prescription, then to the bank about the estate account. Then Home, cleaned the kitchen, and trying to figure what to make for supper! ![]()
About the bank. I received a letter yesterday that the letter of testament, the one probate court gives me so I can do things like open an estate account and such, was never received! They would not have let me open said account if I didn't have the letter. She copied it and sent it with the other forms. They lost it. They being the main office. I ran it by the bank. The lady I have been working with, said she got an email about it this morning and sent the letter again. I walk the park across the street from the bank so not a big deal, just a pain! ![]()
It is quite warm here. Right now it's 77*! Tomorrow will be close to today. We have hit the roller coaster weather, where we have some really nice days, then it cools down, only to get very warm again! ![]()
I got my FQ for the retreat. I have been staring at it. Can't come up with anything yet. I have been making the dots, on the 120+ white squares then the 120+ triangles for the bicentennial quilt. So much fun! I will have to do the dreaded Y seams since it is all pre-cut. The directions told me to use a yardstick! I feel like I have gone back in time with these directions! LOL! ![]()
The Bicentennial quilt was next on my list since it had the most progress. I am finishing quilt tops, using this method. Not by date I bought/started. I use the next quilt in line as my leader/ender. I am still making progress on the hexie quilt. Still thinking on the snails trail quilt. Got the Tallahassee quilt ready to quilt. Making some progress. ![]()
Maybe if I go look at what fabric I have I can figure what to do with the FQ challenge. Many ideas flittering in my head. We have the sewing and quilting expo next week, if I can't find something in my stash, maybe I will find something there. So that's my back-up plan. ![]()
I just can't deal with the oil people right now. They make my brain hurt, figuratively! I will call the second of 3 numbers tomorrow. Maybe! ![]()
Todd and I are planning a cruise to Alaska. Figured this was the only way we can hit these National Parks. They are on our bucket list. ![]()
That has you now caught up on my little corner of the world. ![]()
Later my Friends! ![]()

Theresa, I’ve been to 2.3 cruises to Alaska, it’s so beautiful! Do you have a cruise line you prefer?
Judy, I actually knew what a sprinkle is!
In sorting my fabric, I was surprised to find that the only solid I have is a couple yard piece of dark green. Plenty of blenders and prints, just no solids.
Last night we went to dinner with Heather and family to celebrate Jul’s 19th birthday. I boggled the kids minds when I said I got married at 19, LOL. When we got home I put in a Walmart grocery order for this morning.

Prayers for BJ and her family.
I am topping for a short visit. Dean took another bad turn and finally let me take him to the hospital. Gave him fluids and anti-nausea meds. Made him feel somewhat better but still had stomach pains, so a catscan was ordered. They thought they saw a mass in the bowels. Then a surgical consult and the surgeon said, no, mass they think enteritis. Then came back with not sure on that either. Long story short...he has seen 10 different doctors and the do not know what is wrong with him. Has extremely low white blood count, so keeping visitors to a minimum. Now he has a tube down his nose and they put dye into it to see if it goes thru to his bowels. Sigh. Please keep him in your prayers so we can find out what is happening with him.
Thanks and take care friends.

Theresa, all of the problems you are having with your Mom’s estate has spurred me to try to make things as easy as possible for my kids. Today, I signed a transfer on death deed, which is what my lawyer suggested instead of a trust. I already have the kids’ names on bank accounts and have them listed as beneficiaries on life insurance, CDs, and annuities. All of this will avoid probate.
We are having roller coaster weather too. Possible severe thunderstorms overnight, high temps in the next two weeks range from 42 to 78.
My annual quilt retreat is coming up week after next and I am really looking forward to it! As usual, I have several things I’m taking to work on, probably more than I will finish. There will only be 7 or 8 of us and no other group is booked like there has been other times.

LOST IN THE TRANSLATION......
1. IN A ROME LAUNDRY: LADIES, LEAVE YOUR CLOTHES HERE AND SPEND THE AFTERNOON HAVING A GOOD TIME.
2. IN A CZECHOSLOVAKIAN TOURIST AGENCY: TAKE ONE OF OUR HORSE-DRIVEN CITY TOURS----WE GUARANTEE NO MISCARRIAGES.
SORRY I'M LATE. MY COMPUTER BURPED SO I HAD TO RESTART IT THIS AFTERNOON. IT TAKES ABOUT 25 MINS BEFORE I CAN GET ON MY PUTER AFTER A RESTART.
WE ARE EXPECTING MORE SNOW TONITE. I DON'T THINK IT WILL BE MUCH.
LUCKY ME I TOOK OUT MY TRASH AND NEIGHBOR MICHELE'S TO THE DUMPSTER THIS AFTERNOON.
JUDY......I NEVER HEARD OF A SPRINKLE BEFORE. THANKS FOR ADDING TO MY KNOWLEDGE.
CHERYL......SO SORRY THAT DEAN IS HAVING SUCH A DIFFICULT TIME WITH HIS COMPLAINT. IT MUST BE STRANGE NOT HAVING A DOCTOR AMONG SO MANY ABLE TO FIGURE OUT THE CAUSE. I HOPE HE GETS SOME RELIEF SOON. I KNOW ITS A WORRY FOR YOU AS WELL. STRESS CAN DO FUNNY THINGS TO ANY OF US.
GOOD LUCK DEAN. PRAYERS AND POSITIVE THOUGHTS WINGING THEIR WAY TO YOU. MY BEST WISHES FOR A QUICK RECOVERY.![]()
WATCHED 'BEST MEDICINE' THIS WEEK. HIS FATHER ARRIVED AND WHAT A SURPRISE. IT WAS MARTIN CLUNES, THE STAR OF THE BRITISH SHOW DOC MARTIN FROM WHICH THIS 'BEST MED' IS A KNOCK-OFF. IT WAS GOOD TO SEE HIM. HAVEN'T SEEN HIM SINCE HIS NATURE SHOW VISITING SMALL VILLAGES ON ISLANDS FROM THE NORTH SEA TO THE SOUTH SEAS.
I STARTED A NEW JIGSAW PUZZLE TODAY SINCE SOMEONE KINDLY FINISHED OFF THE LAST 20 PIECES OF THE LAST ONE LAST NITE. I HAVE ALL THE BORDER PIECES IN PLACE SO ITS A START.
TODAY IS FLOOR WASHING DAY. I AM ALREADY WORN OUT FROM THE COMPUTER HASSLE TRYING TO GET IT TO WORK SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE I FINALLY GAVE IN AND RESTARTED IT. I SHOULD KNOW BY NOW THAT IN THE END I CAN SAVE LOTS OF TIME IF I JUST GO TO 'RESTART' AS SOON AS PROBS ARISE.
AS USUAL I WROTE A SHORT STORY. STAY SAFE AND WELL. HUGS FOR YOU ALL, QB S![]()

Cheryl, yikes! An NG tube is no joke! Hopefully it will come out soon. I’m glad he finally agreed to the hospital!
Mary Lou, that’s good that you are being proactive. My mom had me as a signer on her one checking account, and that saved so much hassle, as I was able to pay her burial expenses.
Apple has a new laptop coming out this month called the MacBook Neo. It’s inexpensive and comes in colors. I just ordered a pink one, it will be delivered between March 20 and 27th.

Afternoon y'all! ![]()
Holly I am leaving that up to my concierge, otherwise known as the hubby! I have learned to let him do the research, then he asks what I want. Easier this way and usually works well! ![]()
Cheryl! WOW! I will keep him in my prayers! ![]()
Pvillelou: Us too. We did the trust, because some of our stuff will not transfer upon death, so trust is the route we went! Same concept, just easier on the kids! ![]()
I have done my walk, and home. No extra stuff to get done today! I love days I can just come home! ![]()
I am going to get 2 more dots done and see if I can get this weird concept of a Y seam! I will be able to get 4 corners done. If I am deciphering their directions correctly! I will not be using the yardstick as they instructed! LOL! ![]()
I think I may have an idea for the retreat FQ! I need to make a sample block before I cut into the FQ! I can make a table topper with the sample one, if necessary! I have not gotten that far yet! I just want some fabric play! I can leader and ender one of the quilts! ![]()
Nothing else exciting from my little corner of the world! ![]()

Prayers for BJ's family. I will miss her. She was a beautiful lady. Like Linda, I also miss others who have passed that were members here.
Cheryl, so sorry for Dean. This just proves doctors are human and don't know everything.
Marylou, I'm working on that right now. Going to meet with a real estate attorney. Right now I have my sons listed as Joint Tenants with Right of Survivorship, but Greg is worried about gift taxes and capital gains. It can be changed, if necessary, but I need expert advice. I did that at the advice of a friend, as she said it would keep them out of probate. I already have both of them on my bank account and beneficiaries on my Fidelity IRA. Smart move by you!
We have a new restaurant in our little town called Teriyaki Madness. I'm going to try it tomorrow. Have any of you heard of it?

Thanks for telling us HOLLY, I am so sad for them all, I knew it wouldn't be long, a beautiful person (both inside and out) gone and she will be missed so very much
Like all of you I miss and grieve one of "our" family, we have been together so long we are family, just a different kind.
CHERYL awful news from you, I do hope they can figure this out and quickly, my thoughts and prayers are with you all ((((hugs)))) give DEAN my very best wishes and hopes for a quick diagnosis and recovery.
SANDRA those days when things go wrong and take so much time to fix are so terribly tiring, I am not looking forward to hours on the computer changing our credit card details, it's due to be replaced soon, and it takes so long to change it all with the different companies. I'm glad Nan is doing OK, hope she continues to get well, good for you with the food plans, I an sorry about the one dish that wasn't so good, but there are tons of yours that do work well (((hugs)))
INDY I had not heard of Sprinkles either, learn something new every day LOL It will be a long and tiring trip for you both but should be fun to see everyone.
DEVONNE we have done all our plans for property and accounts, plus our end of life paperwork, it makes it so much easier, and I do have suggestions for my funeral, but as I won't know it doesn't really matter.
Nothing happening here, I picked up Dean early he had 2 "doubles" before leaving today - Physics and Business Studies. He also was talking about his final camp for Year 12, he's really looking forward to that, they go for 2 nights to the mountains, Megan talked about it tonight too - it's also the same time as Gary's 45th, and she had booked a camping trip, so now both boys will be home instead, the party will still go ahead and they will have a dinner with all of us when they get back, just between us I think Dean would rather go with his friends LOL
I have an early start tomorrow it's going to be very humid, so no idea how that will go, I was a mess on Thursday with the humidity. I had to do my own sets of exercises, just couldn't cope with that humidity.
