Linda, the wreath is a 12 inch heart shaped wreath form. I did another last night on a round form, pic on my blog.
Devonne, it’s so easy to get taken in by scammers! Yesterday I got an alert from Bank of America, they declined a $466. Purchase on my credit card, asked if I’d made it. Nope, so card closed, they are sending me a new one. Such a pain.
I started cleaning up my sewing room, it was a disaster. I got a lot put away, after 45 minutes my knees had had enough.
It’s sunny and 26 now, melting some of the snow and ice. My incision looks good, it’s longer than I expected. She told me not to do my exercises or treadmill til the weekend, which messes up my daily routine, but oh well.
Janet, my brother Mike works for a company that is doing ice removal for parking lots, they have a special machine.

Waiting on the snow guy to get here. Well actually DH is outside waiting at the bottom of the driveway where he left the truck yesterday. Hopefully he can do a good job without ruining the driveway
Online!
I feel better about being scammed since they didn't get my money. I did freeze my credit with the three credit report companies. I don't plan on getting a loan or applying for a credit card, so it may stay frozen forever, lol. ![]()
Because I am on Fosamax for osteoporosis, my dentist could not pull my tooth this morning. Fosamax changes your jawbone, which can slow healing after an extraction. I have to go see an oral surgeon. They gave me a referral and I'll call them now. I'm not taking this medication anymore.
Holly, you are making me want to do something crafty! Sandra said I could copy the picture of her loons on the lake, so I'm going to start painting it today. No artist here, but practicing makes you better.
Cheryl, you seem to be doing great! I know the boot is a pain in the butt.
Janet, getting away from there doesn't mean it would solve all your issues, lol. Sometimes they follow us!
Sandra, sorry for your loss. Thanks for allowing me to use your loons picture.
Trish, Dean is quite smart. Can you believe how grown up they are now? Carter will be 15 in September and turned out to be a big "man."
I saw a guy on You Tube that lives in Florida and his water pipes froze!

Devonne, so glad you did not lose any money! Those scammers are such professionals. Dental work is the reason that I refused to take any "bone building" medications. I forget which one she wanted me to take, but I had two root canals and crowns to get done. My dentist asked that I wait. I did and still am.
Holly, I will check out your newest blog when I am finished here. That kind of work/craft would be good while watching TV. I get so bored with TV.
Trish, that Dean sounds like a smart young man. Our Gabriel is smart too and his school counselor is talking him in to doing a College Credit Plus program. It would allow him to get his senior year credits as well as college credits at the same time. He would have to get to the college on some days and on other courses/days, a professor comes to the high school. He was told that for every hour in class he will be putting in 2-3 on his study time. He is certainly smart enough, but he is sort of lazy and I think he gets honor grades quite easily and does not know how to really study. The college courses will be free if he passes with a C grade of better. If not, Aaron will have to pay for the courses. I don't know whether to encourage him or not......I don't want to discourage him, but Aaron cannot afford to pay cash outright for college.
Still cold here, but not as bad. Today it is 19 but sunny. The ice and snow are not melting at all, but it is supposed to get to 25 or 30 degrees next week, so perhaps then. I cannot get out much anyway, so this cold snap is not bothering me.
I put a beef roast and carrots and potatoes in the oven and the house smell wonderful! Dean helped me peel and cut the veggies and put the roast into the oven. He is really trying to learn to do some cooking. He has never had to do it since I did it all. He has been such a help to me. I am blessed.

Devonne- all of the osteoporosis meds can effect the jaw bone along with a lot of other side effects. And you’re right, getting away from here probably won’t help.
Check your PMs.

Cheryl, around here the high schools have dual credit classes. They are taught in the high school by teachers certified to teach college, and you get both high school and college credits. My kids and now grandkids came out of high school with about 18 college credits, a money saver. We also have the NJ Stars program, which with a certain gpa gets you free community college. Eddie and Jules were both eligible, but had 4 year scholarships to Stockton.

Good afternoon! ![]()
DS been there done that. Mine was AMEX. No longer have AMEX. Learned my lesson, and yes he was very convincing. Acted concerned etc, totally fooled me. ![]()
When I got up this morning hubby said we must have gotten sleet overnight. It was snow! A light dusting. When I did my morning walk with Simba it started snowing again! Nothing accumulated!![]()
Been scanning and printing for mom's taxes. A lot of work. I never made a file for one of the facilities, so cannot find the bill. Very unusual for me. I will keep looking, hoping I misfiled it. I am still dealing with the SC bank. They wanted me to write a note and have it notarized and mail it to them. They obviously do not know anything about the UPS office in Metro Atlanta. I am not standing in line for over an hour to get this notarized when I have sent more documents than a shark has teeth! ![]()
They just called and said they will close the accounts, and mail me a cashiers check. Finally a resolution!!!!! ![]()
I'm taking a break and doing for me! I need to write and mail a check for the retreat this summer. I keep forgetting, and paperwork keeps getting in my way! ![]()
I have one outlier for mom's taxes, as far as getting the paperwork mailed to me. That and the missing bill, and I am good to go! I can get the taxes off my plate. Hubby usually does this, but I am trying to get this done as well, so I took the reigns, and he tells me what he needs and I am doing it. I have to have it all completed by May 1st per the probate Court. I need to know what to do anyhow! So it is a win for me in the long run! ![]()
I even turned the TV off today as I found it distracting. I usually like it on as background noise. ![]()
The printer is probably ready to yell UNCLE! I am done for the time being, so it gets a break! LOL! ![]()
Need to run and write my check and look through my files again. Can't think of what I did with that paperwork. I did find stuff I can throw in recycling, not sure why I kept that stuff this long. A real head scratcher! ![]()
You are now caught up on my little corner of the world! ![]()
Later my Friends! ![]()

Linda- thanks. I actually found the info you gave me. NC is a bit far for me for a retreat.
The driveway was cleared (well mostly) yesterday and he only charged $450. But like Linda said we are looking at a possible 1-3” today. If that’s the case I
Will call the guy myself.
DH left to do grocery shopping at 7 am to avoid crowds. Hopefully he’ll get back up the driveway as I assume the driveway may still have icy spots.

LOST IN TRANSLATION......
1. IN AN ADVERTISEMENT BY A HONG KONG DENTIST: TEETH EXTRACTED BY THE LATEST METHODISTS.
2. A TRANSLATED SENTENCE FROM A RUSSIAN CHESS BOOK: A LOT OF WATER HAS BEEN PASSED UNDER THE BRIDGE SINCE THIS VARIATION HAS BEEN PLAYED.
ITS COLD BUT SUNNY. WE MAY GET SNOW TONITE AND TOMORROW.
TODAY IS SOUP-MAKING DAY. I HAVE VEGGIE BEEF ON THE MENU. MY SON SHOPS TOMORROW.
TODAY MY CHORES ARE VACUUM THE RUGS, SWEEP THE FLOORS, AND CLEAN THE LIGHT SWITCHES. YOU KNOW, GET THE MARKS OFF AROUND THOSE PLATES. I AM STILL ON MY WEEKLY CHORE OF CLEANING THE CUPBOARDS. ACTUALLY, I GOT THE WEEK WRONG. I HAVE THE CUPBOARDS LISTED FOR THE 2ND AND 3RD WEEKS OF THE MONTH. BUT THAT'S OK. I AM JUST DOING ONLY THE CUPBOARD DOORS TO END THIS WEEK. I HAVE THE ONES ON THE RIGHT TO SCRUB TODAY. I WILL SORT AND REORGANIZE THEM THRU WEEK 2 AND 3 NEXT MONTH. SO THAT MEANS NEXT WEEK I NEED TO SCRUB MY FLOORS TIL I CAN GET BACK ON TRACK. I HATE WHEN I SCREW UP.
JANET......WOW, THAT'S AN EXPENSIVE DRIVEWAY. IT MUST BE AN EXTRA LONG ONE. SURELY THEY SANDED IT AFTER THEY PLOWED IT FOR THAT PRICE. THEY DO THAT FOR US.
LINDA.....GLAD YOUR EYES ARE GETTING BACK INTO FOCUS. SORRY YOUR POOR SON IS HOME SICK. HE MUST HAVE OVERTIRED HIMSELF THIS PAST WEEK.
I AM HEADING OFF TO DO MY LAPS.
STAY SAFE AND WARM LADIES. HUGS, QB S ![]()

We’re predicted to have record cold and winds this weekend, then warm up to above freezing.
I spent another hour cleaning the sewing room. Amazing how putting things where they belong improves the room! I put the “before” pix up on my blog. Ralph has been cleaning up the guest room and the basement.

Sandra- nope, that was just plowing (or as they call it down here, scraping.) no sand, no salt. The driveway is about 750’ uphill.
DH had no issues with the driveway this morning.

Wow! I'm home alone again today (3rd day this week). Howard has never checked into his VA benefits but was 'buttonholed' again on Tuesday at W-M by a VA rep when he saw H.'s Navy cap. I've always kept my nose out of it because his philosophy has been that since he was making a decent living for us, let others who need it more, have it. Nothing much has changed, but as he gets older with more health issues, these reps. have urged him to at least check into it. That's where he's at, right now, so we'll see... His two other outings were for lunch with the ROMEOS , Wed. and Dave, yesterday.
We had a potentially nightmarish fraud issue last summer. I may have told you??? It wasn't even a direct call but a transfer in the middle of whatever it was H. was dealing with. Listening, I was a bit suspicious and mouthed that to H. He's touchy anyway and certainly if you interfere with something like that, so I went out to the porch swing and was talking to my friend, Bobbie. In passing, mentioned his call. She immediately became alarmed because another friend had just almost been scammed. So we hung up and I went inside and insisted to H. that he must quit that call, which by then, he too, had 'smelled a rat', but long story short, we had to get all new accouts at both banks and go thru all the rigamarole involved with that, but like Devonne, we were spared the lost of any money, thankfully. Takes a long time to get past it. ![]()
All that to say, yesterday, he got a warning from our credit union that scammers were at it again, actually boldly using their own fraudline phone number to call customers and to NEVER give any account info to anyone because they already have it!
Theresa, it's almost over. You'll eventually be able to put it behind you, but I'm sure it doesn't seem like that, yet. Sounds like you had a nice visit with Luke. I love your Simba stories. Like Bandit, he's a bit of a character! Did you take him with you or did Alex dogsit?
Janet, long driveways can cause big problems. As I recall, you had one in New York, too. I suspect that IF you jumped in and called someone to fix a house/property problem, it would then be yours for always. That's how it would be here, so I just wait for Howard to do whatever!
QB, I have to laugh a bit. I've never wiped down my ceilings and I'm glad you mentioned the light switch plates--am not inclined to clean them, either. However, I did wipe one off before my small group was here last time, but only one! I could certainly take some lessons or even reminders from you (and Devonne.) ![]()
Trish, I'm sure it feels good to take care of your "little one", even if he does tower over you, now. Hope he's all okay but good the doc is making sure. ![]()
Mary Leigh and I have a funeral to attend tomorrow. We didn't have in-school kindergarten out here when she was that age so this was her private kindergarten teacher who lived to her mid- 90's, so we want to honor her memory.
I put some country ribs in the crockpot a bit ago. Actually made a rub and let them rest for an hour before. I do too much last minute cooking. Trying to change that.
Have a good remainder of the day. Hugs for all.

Janet! Yay! You can get out of the house if you want to!!!! At least till it snows again! ![]()
Somebody up north has finally closed that back door and we are warming up! High of 60* today. Only mid 50's tomorrow and mid to upper 60's next week!!!!! ![]()
Found the paperwork for the missing facility, for mom. Got the outlier for taxes today in the mail!!!! Yay! Today, I scan and hopefully the scanner will not go TILT on me! LOL!!! ![]()
I know it has to be done, it's just a pain in the you know what! I should have everything now to file the taxes!!!!! ![]()
After that we work on our taxes, such fun going on here! ![]()
So bank resolved, waiting on check, found missing form, and got the last of the tax stuff in the mail! A good 2 days!!! ![]()
Monday, I have to get after the mineral right company. The person that does the paperwork was on vacation this week! They are a mineral rights company, should they not have several people that can do this job, what if the woman quits, retires, or God forbid, gets killed/dies suddenly? What do they do then? ![]()
Need to psych myself up to start the scanning. Easier on this laptop, but still a pain! ![]()
That's the latest excitement in my little corner of the world!!! ![]()
Later my Friends! ![]()
