Hi Diane…2026 has to be better than 2025. It was a miserable year for us.

STOP THE PRESSES!
THE ASSEMBLY PASSED AND SENT TO THE SENATE A BILL REQUIRING DOG OWNERS IN NEW YORK CITY TO CLEAN UP AFTER THEIR PETS, IN PENALTY OF $100 FINE. THE BILL ALSO APPLIES TO BUFFALO.
ITS A BIT COOLER TODAY, ONLY IN THE 30S. A BIT CLOUDY AS WELL.
ITS MY DAY OF REST BUT I FORGOT TO CLEAN MY BATHROOM YESTERDAY SO JUST GOT THAT DONE. NOW...... ITS MY DAY OF REST.
NOTHING ELSE OF NOTE HAPPENING HERE TODAY. I WILL READ, WATCH TV, PLAY A BIT OF SOLITAIRE AND MAYBE WORK MY JIGSAW PUZZLE IN THE COMMON ROOM. WHATEVER I LIKE WHEN I LIKE. AND THAT GOES FOR MEALS AS WELL.
STAY SAFE. ENJOY YOUR DAY. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Good Morning to everyone!! We're getting ready to go check out one of the rentals. I do believe it is a mess!! Tracy and Larissa (her daughter) will go back after they drop us off, when they will work on it!! I'm sure it will be a 2 or 3 day job! I'm going to sign off, as I'm not feeling very bright this morning, but I'll survive! Have a wonderful day, everyone!! BJ.

Devonne, that "Maytag man" lonely man is funny! I had forgotten about that commercial. We bought our last ones in 1998, so they lasted a long time. My dryer is still going, but I don't think it is as efficient as it could be, so we replaced it also.
Trish, Suzanne is a horrible mom. No other words to describe her. She is selfish and only cares about what she wants. The kids are not her priority. Aaron has had to have pizza delivered to them any times. Dean and I sent pizza to them a couple of times. They call and say they are hungry, so of course, we send food to them. Sue was living the past year with an uncle, so he always took care of the kids. Now she has rented another home and they will be hungry while she is at work. It irritates me to no end. But, she has parental rights and there is nothing we can do about it.
It is snowing today! This seems more like January than the 60 degree days last week.
Today was a lazy day for us too. Reading, phone games, TV, and snacking.
I am going to make chicken breasts and some roasted broccoli for supper, though, so not all snacks.

Online!
Devonne and Cheryl, wasn’t he also the “time to make the doughnuts “ guy?
Cheryl, that’s awful about the kids going hungry. And you and Dean are kind of stuck in the middle. It must be so frustrating and maddening for you.
We had lunch at Outback with F and C, so good!
I had found a 49 inch square wallhanging that I have no memory of making. The top was done, and it had been quilted, not by me. Only needs binding. So I got the binding sewn to the back, and pinned at the front, so I just have to sew it down, probably tomorrow. Pic is on my blog. It was paper pieced, so must have been a class I took. I decided to name it Forgotten Flower, since I have no memory of it.
It’s windy and low 40’s, feels much colder. Dinner will be lunch leftovers, or I might just have yogurt.

AFTERNOON ALL !
DAY OF REST HERE TOO. DS TODD FIXED BREAKFAST FOR US THIS MORNING SO THAT WAS A NICE TREAT.
VERY WINDY TODAY. WAS BLOWING SNOW A WHILE AGO. NO ACCUMULATION. ABOUT 40. FEEL COLD SINCE WE HAD BEEN HAVING 50s AND60s TEMPS FOR A FEW DAYS.
DISHWASHER IS A FRIDGERDAIR AND DRIES PRETTY WELL. NOTICED A DROP ON BOTTOM OF PLATES THE OTHER DAY, BUT HAD NOT BEEN VERY LONG SINCE CYCLE ENDED. WASHER AND DRYER ARE LG AND LIKE THEM. ONLY THING IS THAT DOESN'T SHOW ENDED CYCLE. OLD WHIRLPOOL HAD DIALS AND COULD ALWAYS TELL WHAT CYCLE JUST ENDED. HOPE I DON'T DRY SOME THAT HAS ONLY BEEN PREWASHED.
HOLLY, A VERY NICE WALL HANGING. I FOUND ALL KINDS OF THINGS THAT I HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT WHEN WE SORTING OUT THE OINK BEDROON THAT HAD TURNED INTO JUNK ROOM.
I FORGOT WHO WAS ASKING ABOUT THE ITALIAN PASTA GIFT SET. THE SAUCE MORE THAN LIKELY NEEDED A LITTLE BIT OF SUGAR. I AM SURE ADDING THE PEPPERS AND ONION HELPED. IF ANY DISH HAS TOMATOES OF ANY KIND, I ALWAYS AGG SOME SUGAR. HAVE HEARD ABOUT USING BROWN SUGAR FRON DEVONNE AND OTHERS. I JUSY USE WHAT I HAVE. LIKE TURBINO SUGAR IN MY MORNING HOT TEA. WHEN WENT TO WEIGHT WATCHES MANY YEARS AGI, 1 tsp of .sugar was 1 point versus turning with no points.. learned from my Dad to always add sugar to tomato based dishes. In restaurants have to add sugar to dishes. Not much, just I enough to take sour taste out.
Wish I had fixing to make spaghetti for supper. Tonight.
Decline your new floors are beautiful. Easier care too. Good to know about the rubber backing on rugs.
Thinking of everyone. Prayets..............

I sure do miss the soft carpet and Gracie does too. She can't jump on the sofa anymore because she can't get traction. I will be putting an area rug there when I find the right kind to help her get up there.
It was different putting my feet on a cold vinyl floor this morning. A rug will go there too. I see why people like carpet, lol. However, with pets it's not feasible.
Cheryl, Greg spent over $50k so he could get 50/50 custody of Carter. I helped him pay some of that. She tried to get 100% custody. If "A" decided to take her to court about this, the attorney and court costs would be astronomical. At least they are old enough now, they can speak up for themselves. It's really sad. You and Dean are wonderful grand parents.
Holly, it's not the same guy. That was the Dunkin' Donut baker, Fred the Baker. I don't remember his real name. That is a great name for the flower block. It's quite lovely.
I have done nothing today. I have a small order coming between 6:00-8:00. It used to be a one hour time frame, now Walmart has made it 2 hours. I ordered my first cauliflower crust pizza so will see how that tastes.
We had two major problems with the new toilets. The guest bathroom uses a 10" rough in toilet. When I measured, I measured in the master bath and it's a 12" rough in so I had Lowes bring two 12" toilets. Who knew a 5 year old house would have two different sizes? This builder did some weird things!
Greg went to Lowes and got a 10" and brought it here. He will return one of the 12" ones. The 10" was installed easily, as well as the 12" one in the master bath. However, the hose valve needs to be replaced for the one in the master bath (another weird thing this builder did) so I will be calling a plumber. Now I have to go across the house to go to the bathroom. When nature calls, I need to listen, lol. ![]()

Question for those who get SS checks DirectTV deposit. Did you get the January one yet?
Offline
Janet, my SS payment arrives the second Wednesday of the month so I have not received it yet. From what I have read, there will be a small raise but most of it gets eaten up by the Medicare premium increase.
Sandra, like you, I won’t need to cook today, or even tomorrow.Lynn ended up staying until yesterday and cooked something every day she was here. There are a few leftovers in the fridge and about a dozen meals in the freezer!
I forgot who said they had had a Maytag washer a long time. I got new washer and dryer about 5 years ago. It was my third Maytag set, first two lasted a combined 48 years!
Yesterday was a rather hard for me. First, I told Lynn goodbye after her week long visit, knowing it will probably be several months before she comes again. Church was emotional too because our pastor is retiring after 18 years with us. He has been a wonderful pastor to me (especially when Mom passed away and again when Bill passed away) as well as him and his wife being good friends. They will be staying in the area so I will see them but it won’t be the same.

Good afternoon my Friends! ![]()
![]()
This probate stuff will never end, will it?!? I had a meeting with the bank this afternoon to make sure I had all my ducks in a row. Emailing this person, that person and the other person.... Such a pain. ![]()
Thursday, I went to probate court and got forms, and Friday I got the Estate account set up. ![]()
Saturday and Sunday I worked in my sewing room. I am organizing it. Taking out stuff that has been dumped there and has no reason to be in this room! I had a ton of trash, recycling and donate! Felt good. I have all my quilt books on the shelf and stuff a bit more organized! The organized part is big! We got mom's TV out of the basement and set up to get over the air channels, it does great! Moved stuff I use a bunch to be more accessible and put stuff I don't use much away. I started down this rabbit hole by wanting to put a book I got for Christmas on the shelf, but I kept finding old Weight Watchers books and stuff so I pulled all of it out and dusted and put the books back. Much nicer in there! I also pulled the backing I bought for a quilt, got it washed, and it's waiting to be ironed. Then I will baste it then hand quilt it. Should be done in a few years! ![]()
I found the fabric for my snails trail blocks, I may have enough to make more, I have plenty of fairy frost, it's the butterfly fabric that is questionable! I will play with it and see what I can get. ![]()
I am still working on the bear quilt. Changed needles, it works much better going through the fusible. I have one bear done, another 2/3 done, 7 more to go! I'm getting good at burying my knots and not pulling them straight through! ![]()
I have even contacted B&N about a lost order today! ![]()
Next is the roofer, found another leak around a pipe. Probably needs a new boot, or it may be time to replace the roof! ![]()
I also need to call the cemetery about the name plate. We get a dialogue going and then the lady ghosts me! She doesn't want me to drive to SC to get his done! She would not be happy.![]()
I should not have to nag them about this! ![]()
That's all from my little corner of the world! ![]()
Later my Friends! ![]()

Online!
Theresa, will any butterfly fabric do? I have a nice piece that you’d be welcome to.
Janet, my SS comes the 3rd Wednesday and Ralph’s is the 4th Wednesday.
Mary Lou, it’s sad when our adult kids leave, kind of a “now what do I do” feeling.
It’s supposed to be 50 tomorrow! After a doc appointment this morning, we went to Cane’s for the first time. It was good, we’ll go again when in the area.

I needed another day of rest. I did empty one bathtub full of stuff. The other one is full of lamps. Might as well do Spring decluttering early since everything is out of the closets. One of the guys that gave me an estimate said I needed to move everything out of my cabinets in my sewing room. I told him I wasn't doing that and showed him how easy it is to move them. Guess who I didn't choose? Lol ![]()
I had house cleaners for the first time ever this weekend. There were 3 of them; 2 women and 1 elderly man. The ladies were cleaning the blinds and the man was cleaning the floor. It would be nice to have this at least once a month.
Marylou, it would be hard losing a pastor you have had for 18 years. Has the new pastor been selected yet?
Offline
Devonne, we have a committee looking for a replacement but nothing definite yet although they have someone in mind.
Offline
DEVONNE take some time to get over all that happening at your home, it's a big adjustment. You will notice more nice at first I think, we did.
MARYLOU sorry you have the blues, understandable, and you will miss her very much (((hugs)))
SANDRA I looked up my old books from Joanne Fluke, the story is quite different from the move, I have that too, I had forgotten how much different. I might re-read them, I am bored with my current books.
HOLLY & THERESA what kind f butterfly fabric, I think I still have some, no idea where, but I can check with the LQS too. It is a lot of work getting the probate lien - yikes, we should get ours looked at agin, been a while since I have been in the file, I have some things I want to add anyway.
STRINGS sounds like you are feeling better, don;t get too worked up about the housework, it will get done evenutally.
I had lefotover prawns in the freezer from christmas, didn't use the whole bag , so I made it into a pasta dish tonight, now we have leftover cooked pasta prawns LOL The recipe made a lot, so another night I don't need to cook.
We got a note in the mail today from W's BIL, his wife (W's sis) and I don't get on, surprise LOL, strangely there was a clipping from a newspaper, telling of our engagement and forthcoming wedding and where it was to be, that his brother would come from Norfolk Is to be best man - neither of us had ever seen this article, but it has been snipped from a newspaper. You would think that the story being about us that someone would have told us, I suspect his mum or sis gave the story out, without telling us, and his sis has kept it all these years, probably 54 yrs, since it was before we were married. Is it me, or is that strange?
I give up on figuring them out!
I am tired tonight, we had training today and it was humid, not hot thank heavens, but the humidity is just as bad!
Last night we watched the movie The Thursday Murder Club, it's on Netflix, it was good, I have read the book by Richard Osman, and the story is pretty close to the original the only character I didn't like was Pierce Brosnan, he was not who I had in mind for that character. Helen Mirren and Celia Imrie and Ben Kingsley were perfect casting - in my opinion anyway ![]()

The plumber showed up at 8:00 am. I was still in bed, lol. Toilet line is fixed at a cost of $260. The part was probably $25, lol.
We are getting a Whataburger in our little town where the old Pizza Hut was. We still have a Pizza Hut, but pickup is now drive thru only. Whataburger will probably put Hardees out of business, which is right next door. I haven't been to Pizza Hut nor Hardees in years.
I am trying to decide what to do with all these family photos that are in frames. Would you take them out of the frames and put them in a photo album? I have plenty of those! I already have two walls of family photos, but I could do another wall in one of the spare bedrooms. Not sure I want to do that.
