REMINDER JUDY/INDY BIRTHDAY ON 17TH ![]()
Offline
Hi all
RHONDA thanks for updating us, I hadn't heard about the flooding, I would have worried. So glad to hear you are all OK BJ and you are warm and safe!!
SANDRA sorry I should have thought before Matt came today maybe he can do a "clear out" on your computer, clearing out all the old browsing history, and then compacting everything works well sometimes, I run Apple now, so I don't need to do much, seems like it's all done for me, but I do religiously clear out the browsing history every time I log out.
Sounds like many of you are getting ready for Christmas now, with the baking, I am also getting ready, put up the tree today, finally, and now just need to do local cards, I bought all the goodies for the hostel where his sis, his DB - as always so helpful
- wanted to remind me that the nurse he mostly deals with and one other is Nepalese and doesn't celebrate Christmas, I told W to message him back that they would still enjoy the goodies LOL Honestly, there are so many staff there, it really doesn't matter, it's a token thanks!
DEVONNE I'm glad you are getting good use from your new air fryer, it does look good, and if it does what you want that's all you need.
INDY sounds like you are busy as usual I love that you can get together with ML to go places, hope that is the same for me and Megan, I love that she has joined me training now, another thing I have been hoping for for a long time
THERESA look at you go!! wrapping gifts, I haven't even bought them yet![]()
HOLLY well done on getting so much sewing done, I finally dropped my sis's quilt to her yesterday, so nice to get that out of the house. The girls will love their gifts.
CHERYL how nice that the band was good, makes a difference when they have a connection to you as well! Lovely to have Dean's 'student' leading them
I will leave you all to the marshmallow fluff
I dislike marshmallow in all forms LOL The Mr would love it though.
As I said I went to my sis straight after training yesterday, well after coffee/brunch with the girls, our last coffee morning for the year, I left quickly, went in my gear, and got here to have about an hour with her, first face to face we have had in a while, with her away then her hubby sick and work constraints.
We do talk all the time on the phone, just not the same as being able to have a hug
So I was tired last night, but I got all the loungeroom furniture moved today to clean under, and then got the tree up and decorated. I also cleared off the sideboard and set out the nativity scene, and thought I may as well keep cleaning floors, so only the bathrooms to do tomorrow now.
I also booked our Queensland trip next June, he wants to play in the Australian Open again, so I have booked the Meriton Suites again, seems like it's the best deal, and very modern, safe and clean.
I have seafood salad tonight, leftover from last night they give such a big serving it does me 2 nights.
The Mr is hovering, he wants me to do a bank transfer, so will sign off

Good morning from freezing windy SW Virginia. At 5am the temp was 37. Then the winds came and now at 9am the temp is 26! And going into the single digits overnight with 30+mph wind gusts!
DH got his new truck yesterday and I have to say it’s a beauty! He is so happy. I haven’t been in it yet and I still haven’t figured out how I’ll get in and out of it safely, even with the step side running board. It doesn’t matter really because I will never drive it.
I have done a good amount of sewing lately. I now have 6 of the 12 blocks for the BOM from a while ago. The remaining are applique and combo of pieced and applique. I also have 3 of the BOM blocks for my Bee done. 😊. Today I plan to clear my sewing tables so I can start on prepping for my upcoming retreat in mid January. My tried and true Pfaff has been acting up lately so I will have to switch to another of my machines and refamiliarize myself with it. I’m disappointed but I’m glad I have other machines.
Back later.

FROM STEVEN WRIGHT, COMEDIAN, WHO JUST TURNED 70 THIS MONTH.......
1. I SPILLED SPOT REMOVER ON MY DOG. NOW HE'S GONE.
2. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT TEMPERATURE THE ROOM IS------ITS ALWAYS ROOM TEMPERATURE.
WE ARE GETTING A DUSTING OF SNOW RIGHT NOW. THEY SAY LESS THAN AN INCH BUT ONE NEVER CAN BE SURE. IT LOOKS PRETTY AT THE MOMENT.
TRISH....THANKS FOR THE ADVICE BUT MY SON NEVER USES A PUTER AND DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO FIX ME UP. AS TO THE BROWSER HISTORY, I COULD DO IT ON MY OLD PUTER SOME YEARS BACK BUT I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO IT ON THIS ONE. SO I WILL JUST SLOWLY SLOG ALONG.
DEVONNE......I, TOO, USE THE MARSHMALLOW FLUFF/CREAM TO MAKE MY PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE. ONE STILL NEEDS TO TEST FOR SOFT-BALL STAGE AND BEAT IT A BIT BUT IT TASTES LOVELY. A FAMILY FAVORITE.
I TRIED A CANDY THERMOMETER A COUPLE OF TIMES TO MAKE MY CHOC FUDGE BUT IT NEVER WORKED OUT FOR ME. I WILL STICK WITH TESTING TO SOFT-BALL STAGE. THAT'S A BIT TRICKY BUT ITS WORSE, I THINK, HAVING A TOO SOFT BALL. OH WELL, I AM HAPPYTHIS YEAR. MY GOODIES ARE WELLMADE AND SOME HAVE FOUND THEIR HOMES. MY DAUGHTER HAS YET TO PICK UP HER STUFF.
BJ......SO GOOD TO HEAR YOU ARE SAFE FROM THE FLOODING AS IS YOUR FAMILY. AND THAT YOU ARE GETTING TO YOUR STUDIO AND DECORATING SWEATERS. GOOD FOR YOU. I KNOW ITS DIFFICULT BUT ONE MUST KEEP ON TREKKING.
MY SON DROPPED IN AND PICKED UP HIS AND HIS SON'S SHARES OF THE XMAS GOODIES. I ONLY HAVE 2 THINGS LEFT TO MAKE, THE SNOWBALL COOKIES AND MY CASHEW CLUSTERS. I SAY 'MY' BECAUSE MY KIDS DO NOT CARE FOR NUTS SO ITS ALL FOR ME AND THE BINGO LADIES.
TODAY I AM JUST ALL WORN OUT. MY PLANS FOR TODAY WILL NOT INCLUDE ANY COOKING. I HAVE A BOWL OF SOUP LEFT AND I PLAN TO MAKE SALAD ONE OF MY MEALS. I AM TOO TIRED. MAYBE TOMORROW I CAN FINISH MY LIST OF GOODIES. ITS NICE THAT MOST OF MY THINGS ARE DONE AND MADE AHEAD OF TIME AND I CAN RELAX INTO THE REST OF THE DAYS BEFORE XMAS.
YESTERDAY I MADE MY DAUGHTER AND HER FAMILY'S SHARE OF LITHUANIAN BUNDIES (MEAT PASTRY) AND PUT THEM IN THE FREEZER SO I WON'T BE TEMPTED.
I HAVE BEEN TEMPTED ENUF THIS SEASON. I HAVE GAINED BACK 3 OF THE LBS I WORKED SO HARD TO LOSE. I NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM SWEETS AND CHIPS. THE CHIPS, THO, ARE MY DOWNFALL. IF THEY ARE IN RANGE OF MY ARMS WHILE WATCHING TV I WILL MUNCH. I HAVE TO KEEP THEM IN THE KITCHEN OUT OF SITE TO BEHAVE. WHEN I AM ENSCONCED ON MY SOFA, I DON'T LIKE TO GET UP FOR ANYTHING, SO FOOD IS SAFER IN ANOTHER ROOM.
I HAVE A GOOD BOOK TO READ. ITS THE FIRST OF LAURIEN BERENSON'S MELANIE TRAVIS COZY MYSTERY SERIES WITH THE STANDARD BLACK POODLES IN THE STORIES. FROM 1995, "A PEDIGREE TO DIE FOR." LOVING IT.
ENOUGH FOR NOW LADIES. STAY SAFE. HUGS FOR YOU ALL, QB S ![]()

Our power just came back on, it was out for about 2 hours. We got about 7 inches of wet snow. Accuweather says it will get colder as the day goes on, the bottom snow will turn to ice. Ralph and the neighbors were out with the snowblowers clearing driveways and our little hill. I haven’t heard a plow yet.
Janet, we keep a two step stool in the back seat of his truck so I can get it and out. I’m afraid to slide out, afraid my knee will buckle. Happy Chanukah!
No lunch with F and C today due to the snow, so I have to figure out what to make for dinner. We actually used up all the leftovers except for some yogurt.

Soooo cold here in the South. After being 67 yesterday, the high today is only 36. It's going down to 14 tonight. I will need to keep my heat turned up, as my heat pump doesn't handle temps in the teens. Good excuse to use my fireplace tonight.
Cheryl, I forgot to answer your question about my Midea Flexify air fryer. It's only 13.7" high, 15.9" depth and 16.9" wide. It's rather compact as you can tell by the picture I posted. When you open one door, they both open. I like that. Greg just bought a Breville. They are supposedly the best, but mine was less expensive and does the same thing, lol. It's also more compact.
Trish, so sad about the Bondi Beach terroristic attack and 12 beautiful people now gone during a Hanukkah celebration. Are we safe anywhere these days?
I watched the saddest movie last night I have ever seen. It starred Robert De Niro called "Everybody's Fine." His children all have excuses to not come home for the Christmas holiday, so he decides to surprise them and go visit each one.
I bought Hersheys Zero Sugar chocolate chips and I have Zero Sugar peanut butter. I'm going to make a few peanut butter balls to see how they turn out.

Holly- thank you.

Devonne, thanks for the dimensions on your Air Fryer. It looked much bigger to me in the picture
Good luck with the zero sugar chips. I do not tolerate the zero sugar candies and chips as they upset my stomach. Kelli used to cook with them often and did just fine with them.
We got about 4-5 inches of snow and it is still snowing at the moment. Reports are that the roads are very slick. I am not going out today.
I made a pot of potato soup and some little dinner rolls for supper. Well, we also had it for lunch too.
I am one of the old dinosaurs who still used a desk top computer. I have never gotten the hang of using the tablet for typing. I do use it often for games, but mostly like my desktop. It is getting old now, and I hate the thought of having to replace it.
Janet, I get what you mean when you say you will never drive hubby's truck. Dean has had his for about 6 years and I have never driven his either and it is not a giant one. He has a Toyota Tundra and it is midsize.
Offline
I've never driven Howard's truck, either and he's had it 12 years. It's a smallish Dodge. I don't even like to ride in it as it's so hard for me to get in and out of. He chides me for not testing it out, at least, in case of an emergency. I'm sure if I absolutely had to, I could drive it.
It was 8 degrees when we got up this morning and snowing like crazy. The usual, lake effect. He's out trying to plow right now, but has some issue with "something" else???? ( Added: he just came in and now a brakeline has broken and the truck/plow is undrivable, maybe even un-towable.) Supposed to be 40 by Wednesday. It's been some years since we've had such a wintry start in early December. Bodes bad for the real winter months coming up...![]()
Trish, there's nothing like a 'know-it-all' man butting in! ![]()
Glad you had some quality time with your sister, even if it was short. Is her quilt a Christmas surprise or did she look at it while you were there? Yes, I am truly blessed with Mary Leigh. ![]()
I'd better get the Pasta Fagioli warmed up for Howard. It's a leftover and not wonderful, but is edible. (Now he's lost the remote for the plow.
)

Cheryl, I also can’t eat or drink anything zero sugar or diet, I think it’s the aspartame. Instant nausea. I’ve read where diet sodas are terrible for you.
Add me to those who’ve never driven the husband’s truck. In my young days I did. The last few have been high and 4 wheel drive, and basically drive like a boat. He hates driving my Tucson, says it feels so small.
Sandra, we bought a box of little bags of chips, about 150 calories per bag, and that helps with portion control. Sometimes you just want chips!

JANET A Blessing to you both for Chanukah. I wish you a blessed time together. ( I messaged you)
I am reeling a bit here, such a dreadful night, just after I posted last night a senseless sh00ting in Bondi, and during a wonderful celebration for children for Chanukah.
I have no words, I just cannot understand the hate that makes this acceptable in some minds. Now there are 16 dead and 40 injured (one of the sh00ters is dead the other injured)
There was such a brave man wrestled one of the men and took his rifle, he was sh0t (but lives) by the other perpetrator.
I just can't think straight today, senseless, unforgivable.
My heart is aching for my beautiful city, and the tears are not far away today

Trish- thank you for the Chanukah blessings. Unfortunately the holiday has been marred by the atrocity that occurred.
We have had large pickup trucks for about 30 years. My primary vehicle when I was working was a truck. I liked the visibility and its ability to move what seemed effortlessly in the snow and mud. Yes, in my younger days I used to go mud-ing. with some of my students on weekends on the farmland during the rainy season. Great fun.
I guess what I meant was that I would never drive his new toy. We still have our other truck and the Edge.
12* here without the windchill.

MORE JOKES FROM COMEDIAN STEVEN WRIGHT.....
1. IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, THEN SKYDIVING ISN'T FOR YOU.
2. I BUSTED A MIRROR AND GOT SEVEN YEARS OF BAD LUCK, BUT MY LAWYER THINKS HE CAN GET ME FIVE.
A BEAUTIFUL SUNNY DAY BUT COLD, AFTER THE DUSTNG OF SNOW, ABOUT 2-3 INCHES TOTAL I THINK.
I MADE MYSELF THE CASHEW CLUSTERS YESTERDAY. MMMM GOOD. AS FOR TODAY, THE PLAN IS THE SNOWBALL COOKIES AND THEN STEAK AND MASHED FOR SUPPER TONITE. FOR LUNCH I WILL ONLY HAVE SALAD. I HAVE TO DO BETTER. HAVING A FEW GOODIES AROUND AND THE CHIPS, IS MY DOWNFALL. YES, I HAD TO CHEAT A BIT YESTERDAY. HEY, WHEN I MAKE ALL THIS GOOD STUFF, I SHOULD BE ABLE TO ENJOY A BIT, RIGHT? RIGHT?
ANYWAY, WISH ME LUCK I DO BETTER TODAY.
TRISH.....HOW VERY SAD FOR YOUR PART OF THE GLOBE. SUCH TRAGEDY. HERE AND WITH YOU THE NUTS ARE OUT AND ABOUT. IT MAKES ME SO VERY SAD. THOSE FAMILIES WILL NEVER ENJOY CHRISTMAS TIME AGAIN.
MY DAUGHTER MAKES THE XMAS CRACK WITH GRAHAM CRACKERS. THEY LOVE THEM.
I DON'T DIET WITH ZERO, DIET, OR SUGAR-FREE FOODS AT ALL. I DO NOT WANT TO PUT THOSE STRANGE CHEMICALS IN MY BODY. I HAVE TO RELY ON CUTTING BACK MY PORTIONS. IT WORKS IF I STICK TO IT.
STAY SAFE MY FRIENDS. HUGS FOR YOU ALL, QB S ![]()

I tried several times to get on here last night, as well as Saturday night, but was not successful.🤷🏼♀️
Trish, my heart aches for all those affected by such senseless tragedy! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Janet, wishing you and yours a wonderful Chanukah!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
We are expecting another Atmospheric River today, and more flooding, although not as bad as last week. I pray it dissipates and goes away! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 We are forecast to get thunderstorms, and it is nearly 62 degrees here, and it is just after 8am!
I'm off to get stuff done before the wind and storms hit.
In case I don't get back here beforehand, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Holly, I have the individual bags of chips on my list for Costco. I also buy the Skinny Dipped peanut butter cups at Costco.
Zevia drinks do not contain aspartame and they are carbonated water, not sparkling water. I don't care for sparkling water. It did take me awhile to get used to Zevia. The grape tastes the best to me. I also like their ginger root beer and their ginger ale.
Janet, congrats to Jerry on his new truck. What kind did he get?
My neck feels a little better today so I think I can address Christmas cards.

I drink a lot of water with ice, and iced tea that I brew here. Very occasionally, less than once a month, I’ll have a soda.
The main roads are clear, side streets still a frozen mess. It’s sunny, so hopefully some melting. I had a foot doctor appointment, then we mailed Manda’s pillowcases and bowl cozies. It’s 26 out!
Trish, such a tragedy for your country. Makes you wonder if people who take such actions are mentally impaired or just evil.
I got the pattern to make Steph’s Xmas tree skirt, and was reading it last night. Then I dreamt that I couldn’t find the pattern, and Ralph had it washing in the washing machine and I was so mad at him. When I told him about the dream, he promised to not wash any of my patterns, LOL.

Holly, smart man!
I drink very little pop/soda, also. I do like Cherry RC once in a while for the lift the caffiene gives me. One of my early b.d. gifts from ML was a bottle of Grenadine syrup to add the cherry flavor to things myself. Haven't opened it yet.
I have the same horrified and sad feelings as the rest of you and specifically you, Trish. Such a travesty whenever and wherever it happens. ![]()
QB, yes, you can sample and enjoy your goodies. Life is for living, not dieting. How UN-profound is that?
We don't eat diet foods either. Howard insists artificial sweeteners cause him to have joint pain. I usually pooh, pooh his proclamations and disregard them, but who knows? He's lost over 20 lbs, now, finally. ![]()
He found the remote for the plow. "Right where he left it"...as he is prone to always tell me when I lose something. Found his cap in the same place. He's concerned about being so forgetful, but I told him, If you put something down, in the wrong place, that's just what happens. I misplaced his Rx and it turned up in the console between the car seats with the little door closed. Now who would stick it in there after we got home instead of bringing it into the house? ![]()
Diane, good to hear from you. Hope you're feeling better. Not sure if you were affected by the flooding or not. Merry Christmas to you, too. ![]()
Got a new pr. of shoes in the mail. The kind with no heel, to speak of--can't think of what you call them--anyway, these have a strap you can put either in front or behind, so I should be able to keep them on. I always walk right out of the others. I'd better quit here and carry on.![]()

Such tragedy with Bondi. The world is a cold place it seems.
I rarely drink anything except water. I have one decaf cup of coffee every morning, then drink water. When we go out to eat, the grandkids always ask why I order water when there are so many choices. I make a slightly sweet tea in the summer but don't think about it for the cold months.
If I do want a pop (soda) it is Mountain Dew and it is the absolute worst one for me. lol! I don't drink or eat "diet" anything either because those sweeteners, especially Erythritol make me ill/bloated/crampy.
We finally got the Christmas decorations up. Amelia came after school and we got it done. Then we took them shopping so they could get gifts for their dad, stepmom, mom and each other. It did not take long.
It was bitterly cold today, like Judy mentioned. It is cold and snowy for this early in the winter. It is supposed to be 45 on Wednesday and I am looking forward to that.

Trish, heartfelt prayers and tears for everyone who is grieving. Such a senseless act.

Oreos is coming out with a sugarless cookie. One video I saw said it’s loaded with artificial sweeteners and not to stray far from a bathroom if you eat them!
Cheryl, I get water when we’re out, except I like the raspberry peach iced tea at Olive Garden. Water adds to the amount of water I want in a day and it’s free!
