Linda, happy anniversary to you and Darrell! ![]()
Thanks, Sandra, for keeping us up to date on birthdays and anniversaries.
Holly, I'm switching over to glass storage containers too. I will keep the plastic ones to send food home with family until they are gone. I don't eat out much anymore. I am enjoying cooking and trying new recipes. I suggested eating out at McAllisters so I could see Carter. We ended up at Longhorn, lol.
I can't believe this warm weather and it's almost Thanksgiving. Going to be 75 today.
I've used the heat a little during the early morning and the a/c at night, lol. Rain is moving in next week so that will bring cooler temps.
I tried on another pair of pants I haven't been able to wear in years. A little tight in the hips/stomach, but I was able to zip them and button them. It's the only gray pair of pants I have so they are a keeper!

I just got home from ML's and giving her her other birthday presents a day late. Her cold symtoms didn't get worse, so I felt fairly safe in going over there. I 'fessed up that I'd already read her book. She just laughed.
Happy Anniversary, Linda and Darrell. Hope you have a good day and one of remembrance of all the good times.
Thanks, Holly for the info. I haven't had time to look it up yet. I know most of the downside of Advantage plans but we're stuck with them and have to make the best of it, like it or not.
QB, will Oscar cuddle with you? I know being able to help out in this way is right up your alley
plus you get a bit of a pet fix.
We are leaving in a few minutes for Howard's pulmonary doctor appt. He's lost close to 20 lbs. so this doc should be happy about that. At his 1st visit, he was told he doens't have COPD but asthma instead and if he lost some weight, that would improve.
So, I must be off until later.

Just got the call from the dermatologist, the biopsy on my right cheek is positive for basal cell, so MOHS surgery scheduled for February 3. It’s the 3rd or 4th area that I’ve had done. The last was last December, a couple inches below this one.
Wow, Devonne, the 70’s! We’re at 54 and cloudy here. Dinner will be more leftovers from Olive Garden and the diner. We’re still going to use the Rubbermaid plastic containers for when we go out, and the glass for leftovers that I make here.
Sandra, how’s your neighbor who fell?
Linda, Happy Anniversary!
What’s everyone’s Thanksgiving plans? We’re going to Heather’s, and I have a couple of recipes I want to try- sweater weather dip, winter salad, and an Oreo cheesecake concoction. I’m also making a Black Forest Trifle (Jules request) and berry cranberry sauce. Jules is having a Friendsgiving the next day, so any leftover desserts will be devoured, LOL.

We just finished with the carpet cleaner in the living room. It smells fresh and clean in there to be sure! Dean rents this one from Home Deport. We used to own one, but it broke and we never replaced it. Renting is not expensive and Dean does all the hard work. I just fill the water/soap container for him as it empties. He does spoil me.
Thanksgiving will be at my house. We will have 14 people. I don't have 14 alike drinking glasses , so I am thinking disposable cups.
Anthony's mother in law did bring over some paper plates, desert plates and small napkins with Thanksgiving designs on them. I really don't like to us paper plates for dinner, but we shall see. I think the food is too heavy for them. They are not that heavy duty type. I am going to do a small ham as well as a 16 pound turkey. typical sides; sweet potato casserole, mashed, noodles, stuffing, green beans (not that casserole with the soup!) corn, coleslaw and salad. Jane (the mother in law) is bringing her homemade noodles, which are so good, and the mashed potatoes. Emily is bringing the salad and "something else good". Aaron is bringing the fresh green beans and coming over on Wednesday to help with any prep since he will be off work. I think it will be a "stuffed day" for sure. Lots of heavy, delicious carbs.
Desserts will be pumpkin pie, chocolate cream pie, triple berry pie (already made and frozen), key lime bars, and some sort of bread pudding from the mother in law. I think I gained 2 pounds just reading this menu!
It is dreary and gray and around 50 degrees, so not bad for this late in the year.
Holly, what is sweater weather dip and winter salad? ANY type of cheesecake is a winner in my book.

GOOD AFTERNOON!
THANK YOU FOR THE ANNIVERSARY WISHES. THIS IS ,57 FOR US. DOESN'T SEEM THAT LONG AGO THAT WE DID OUR 50 CELEBRATION. WE AREN'T DOING ANYTHING SPECIAL. FEEL BLESSED EVERY DAY THAT WE WAKE UP.
DARRELL BROKE A TOOTH SEVERAL NIGHTS AGO. CAN'T GET REST OF IT EXTRACTED UNTIL NUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS.
WE HAD TO SEE INSURANCE AGE T SINCE HIS ADVANTAGE PLAN WAS NOT OFFEREF FOR 2026. Keeping plan G, but with another company after my birthday in January . advantage pays very little of my eye injections. Plan G and Medicare cover all. Very thankful of that.
DARRELL HAS STARTED PT. THEY COME HERE. ONLY ONE SESSION THIS WEEK AND ONE NEXT. HOPE CAN GET TWO A WEEK SCHEDULED IN DECEMBER.
THAT ABOUT CATCHES UP ON WHAT IS GOING ON IN OUR LITTLE CORNER.
THANKS DEVONNE. KNEW YOU HOPE TO CATCH UP READING. WOULD UNDERSTAND.
I AM BEHIND IN READING AGAIN SO MAY HAVE MISSED SOME COMMENTS.
THINKING OF EVERYONE. PRAYERS.............
HOPE TO GO T,O BARBARA'S FOR THANKSGIVIBG. HER BROTHER HAS BEEN HOSPITALIZED SEVERAL TIMES IN LAST FEW WEEKS.

Cheryl, if they come out good I’ll post recipes. Or if you want to see them now, I can post them. The sweater weather dip has cheese and cranberry sauce. The winter salad has cabbage, Brussels sprouts, and a lemony dressing.
I spent 2 hours in the sewing room and made 3 more bowl cozies, then I ran out of wrap n zap. It’s ordered, will come Monday. I wanted to get the ones done that go to Heather’s house, so I can take them with me Thursday. Tomorrow I’ll switch to Christmas pillowcases.
We finished up the Olive Garden soup and salad leftovers for dinner. Ralph also had some pasta.
Cheryl, your menu sounds so scrumptious!

Happy anniversary Linda.
We went out to dinner last night. We always go to the same place as it’s the only decent place around here.

STOP THE PRESSES!
1. MR. BENJAMIN PORTER VISITED THE SCHOOL YESTERDAY AND LECTURED ON 'DESTRUCTIVE PESTS.' A LARGE NUMBER WERE PRESENT.
2. COLUMBIA, TENNESSEE, WHICH CALLS ITSELF THE LARGEST OUTDOOR MULE MARKET IN THE WORLD, HELD A MULE PARADE YESTERDAY HEADED BY THE GOVERNOR.
A CLOUDY DAY HERE AND THE EXPECTED 40S. NITES 20S.
ITS SATURDAY SO JUST A FEW CHORES NEED DOING TODAY. I ALREADY SORTED MY PILLS FOR THE WEEK AND DID MY LAPS. JUST A FEW MORE THINGS TO GET DONE.
I ROASTED PORK CHOPS WITH GARLIC TATERS LAST NITE AND HAD SALAD BESIDES. A NICE SUPPER. I ALSO SHARED A TO-GO CONTAINER WITH TOM WHO CAME UP TO SEE THE SKETCH OF HIS OSCAR. HE LIKES IT AND LEFT IT TO ME WHICH BACKGROUND I WOULD PREFER. I'M THINKING A BLUE ONE.
I STILL HAVE ENOUGH LEFTOVERS FOR MY LUNCH TODAY AND THERE'S PIZZA DOUGH DEFROSTED SO I CAN MAKE PIZZA TONITE. MY NEIGHBOR DOWN THE HALL HAD A TOE REMOVED. SHE LOVES MY PIZZA SO YOU KNOW SHE WILL GET SOME MEATY PIZZA. SHE DOES NOT LIKE PEPPERONI.
I, PERSONALLY, LIKE MINE WITH BOTH.
MY SON SHOULD BE ALL MOVED IN TODAY SINCE ITS OFFICIAL MOVING DAY. I HOPE HE LOVES HIS NEW PLACE AND MAYBE HIRES SOMEONE TO DO THE HEAVY SNOW WORK THIS WINTER. I KNOW HE IS NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO YARDWORK THIS SPRING. IT WAS ONE OF THE PERKS HE LOVED ABOUT LIVING IN THEIR RENTED APT THESE LAST FEW YEARS. ANYWAY, HE WILL BE SHOPPING FOR ME NEXT WEEKEND.
I MADE A LIST OF THE XMAS GOODIES I PLAN TO MAKE FOR THE SEASON. I HAVE MOST OF MY NEEDS FOR THE RECIPES BUT THERE WERE A COUPLE I FORGOT TO ORDER SO MY SON CAN HOPEFULLY FIND THEM WHEN HE SHOPS. IF NOT, I CAN DO WITHOUT. I WAS GOING TO HUNT UP ANOTHER NEW RECIPE OR TWO BUT THOUGHT BETTER OF IT. I MAKE ENOUGH TO KEEP MY FAMILY HAPPY AND THAT'S WHAT MATTERS MOST TO ME. AND I DON'T NEED MUCH FOR THE TAPAS XMAS NITE. I ALREADY HAVE A GIFT TO SWAP.
MY HEARINNG AMPLIFIER IS ON THE FRITZ. THEY ONLY LAST A YEAR AND A HALF TO 2 YEARS SO I AM SATISFIED. I ORDERED A NEW ONE AND IT SHOULD BE HERE EARLY NEXT WEEK. IN THE MEANTIME, I WILL STAY INDOORS AWAY FROM PEOPLE WHO STILL EXPECT TO TALK TO ME WHEN I CAN'T HEAR WHAT THEY ARE SAYING. DUH. "LADIES, I CAN'T HEAR YOU."
AT HOME I ALWAYS HAVE THE CLOSE-CAPTIONED ON MY TV SO I AM OK THERE.
MY NEIGHBOR TONY WHO BROKE HIS HIP IS IN REHAB RIGHT NOW. I HOPE HE GETS THRU THIS ORDEAL QUICKLY AND RETURNS HOME SOON.
THAT'S IT ON MY HOMEFRONT. STAY SAFE MY FRIENDS. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Aldi opens at 9. We got there around 9:20 and the place was hopping! I got everything I need for Thanksgiving and the rest of the week, and we were out of there by 10:05. I love a smaller store.
we were out of Aldi early enough that we stopped at Chick Fila and brought home breakfast. The refrigerator stuff got put away, the rest is still on the counter.
It’s a drizzley day, 49 out now. I got my steps in at Aldi, so didn’t need the treadmill today.
Today is my late nephew Joseph’s 39th birthday. Still is surreal to think of him being gone.

AFTERNOON!
Janet, belated ANNIVERSARY WISHES FOR YOU AND JERRY. SLIPPED MY MIND, BUT SHOULD HAVE REMEMBERED YOURS CLOSE TO OURS AND NOT FAR BEHIND US IN YEARS.
THANKS FOR ALL THE ANNIVERSARY WISHES.
CHERYL AND TERESA , THANKS FOR THE UNDERSTANDING. FOR YEARS I HAS BEEN TELLING DOCTOR HE Was SLIPPING, BUT ON OFFICE VISITS, HE WAS FAIRLY SHARP. THIS TIME IT WAS EVIDENT. THERESA, KNOW YOU WENT THROUGH A LKT WITH YOUR MOM. DARRELL'S MOM HAD DEMENTIA. NOT SGURE WHAT KIND.
BARBARA TREATED US TO DINNER FROM OUR FAVORITE SEAFOOD RESTAURANT. THEY ATE THERE AND WERE EATING US TO JOIN THEM. THESE DAY A CHALLENGE TO TAKE HIM OUT TO EAT. TAKE OUT WORKS OUT PRETTY WELL FOR US. SHE DOES SO MUCH FOR US. SEAFOOD SURE BEAT THE FROZEN PIZZA THAT TODD HAD PLANNED. THINK HE HAD FORGOTTEN WHAT DAY IT WAS. LEFTOVERS TONIGHT. YUM! IN THE PAST WE USED TO GO TO THE COACH AND FOUR FOR ANNIVERSARY DINNER. THEY HAVE GREAT PRIM RIB. IF CALL AHEAD, CAN GET BAKED ALASKA. THINK FIRST TIME HAD THAT WAS ON OUR HONEYMOON. K OW A DISTANCE FOR YOU, BUT YOU MIGHT ENJOY THE COACH AND FOUR.
I HAVE BEEN USING GLASS STORAGE DISHES. HATED THE STAINED PLASTIC. GOT SOME LOCK AND LOCK FROM QVC. YHEY HAVE PLASTIC LIDS THAT SEAL TIGHT. I DONT USE THE LIDS IN RHE MICROWAVE. THEY CAN GO IN OVEN. FORGOT WHAT TEMPERATURE LIMIT, BUT PRETTY HIGH.
CONGRATS ON ALL THOSE LOSING WEIGHT.
I DID CATCH UP UP ON READING THIS WEEK'S POSTS HAVEN'T GOTTEN FARTHER BACK YE

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to LINDA and DARRYL
Hope you had a lovely day, that is quite a long time, kudos to you both! So sorry about the decline, hard to see our guys get a little worse ((((hugs))))
JANET thanks for the info, hope your dinner was lovely too, we had dinner on Friday as usual with Gary, and last night (Sat for us) we had our fitness group end of year celebration, Megan came, she had little weep when she saw the card Sara had written me, and I think although she kind of knew she was still a little surprised how many I knew there, I'm the "old lady " LOL they all know me!!
HOLLY the memories of those who have died are still strong on anniversaries I remember hearing a saying once, - I will live on in hearts till my name is no longer spoken - I think a bit of a reminder that it's OK to talk of them, and remember. Good luck with the surgery, at least you know what to expect. So sorry for another diagnosis.
SANDRA I guess he will have to get used to plowing again, it's part of the deal
I do hope they have a long and happy life together. I made my chutney, now am going to make another batch of jam, pretty chuffed with myself that I managed to print nice labels
Enjoy your lovely little boy for cuddles (((hugs)))) they are great therapy.
CHERYL I agree your menu sounds lovely, lots of work, I don't think using different glasses will hurt anyone, I know Megan sets tables for up to 30, and as long as there are groups of the same glasses they look good in the set up, and she is VERY OCD about all that stuff. Use what you have, maybe even put some labels on, I heard about a trick, paint paper with milk and "stick" onto glass ware - it sticks and dries on there, then it comes off with water, try and see if that works.
INDY you have the kind of relationship I have with Megan, wasn't always so, we had some problems before she settled down. Now we are not just mother and daughter, we are good friends too, love it!!
DEVONNE I think you might need to be prepared for "incoming" for thanksgiving. They might all end up at your place again, LOL I wouldn't get anything in especially, but just be prepared for visitors LOL
I made my fruit cake for the party last night, the girls all lapped it up - I know it's pretty good, but they absolutely rave, I think I need to do a few cooking classes, they don't seem to "cook" --- the younger ones, and think that it must be hard to make, couldn't be easier. I suspect they use the "bought" fruit cakes, and =19.5pxmine is better than that LOL
Another lunch for us today, it's a bit of a drive, but I bought myself a new outfit, if we take pics you can see it,
I also got a lovely message from my sis, her oldest DGS is Jack, she asked him if he could paint her a tree decoration, he said Yes, but could he give one to Aunty Tricia as well, be still my heart, love that boy, he is so generous.
I've made my sourdough, and now need to get myself organised, lunch will go on for a few hours, and it will take us an hour to get there!

Logan and Gary came over and cooked dinner for me yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised and glad I had cleaned my oven and reorganized the fridge.
Logan did the cooking....baked chicken breasts, green beans and broccoli.
Holly, I'm sorry you need the surgery but glad they found it. A special hug for you today. ![]()
Cheryl, that's a lot of people. Use plastic cups. We used to buy extra ice.
Trish, you may be right, lol.
I'm surprised Emily doesn't call/text me and mention the holiday(s).
H and B closed on a new manufactured home last week. I was disappointed it wasn't a modular home, but it's half the price. Their new home arrives in February, but they can't move in until April. It's 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. G&E will have their own bathroom and also there's an extra room that will be their own separate living/tv room. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful and it has a very large pantry. I am giving them my bed I paid so much money for that I've never liked. Also giving them the adjustable frame. That will save them a few thousand. I'm so glad they will be out of the RV's. Logan will move into G&E's bigger RV.

Devonne, what’s the difference between modular and manufactured?
