I got up early and was at the grocery store at 7 am. I purchased the items for Thanksgiving that I thought DH would have issues with. He was relieved. I was home by 8:15am. They had a lot of turkey breasts which was my first choice. Less whole turkeys. I guess I should have bought 2 so I’d have one for NewYears day. 🤷♀️. I haven’t shopped since June and the store did some rearranging. So Thanksgiving will be turkey, stuffing, mashed white and baked sweets, roasted Brussel sprouts, green peas, biscuits, gravy, cranberry sauce. Maybe salad? DH will pick dessert.
Temperature here when I went out at 7 was 38 and gardenias are still producing lovely flowers. lol
I’m really into sashiko Embroidery lately. But still prefer wool embroidery.

We were out and about. Ralph had an order to pick up at Lowe’s, then we went across the parking lot to Chick Filet. They give a Veterans discount if you ask, always $5 off! Then to the bank drive up, got behind someone who apparently was never in a drive thru line before. Then to the library to swap out books.
Wawa has been advertising their gobbler sandwiches and bowls, so I’m going to make my own. I have leftover turkey in the freezer, and can make mashed and stuffing, and I have gravy and cranberry sauce. I expect mine to be better than Wawa’s.
It’s sunny but windy and feels chilly.
Trish, in the book one child dies of tetanus because the dad never had them vaccinated. Like you said, there’s probably people living out there that no one knows about. I like my WiFi too much, LOL. And my electric blanket.
Devonne, enjoy your Texas Roadhouse! I love their herbed chicken.

MALAPROPS......
1. POE'S ROMANCE WITH MRS. STANARD WAS PURELY PLUTONIC.
2. THE MONKS SANG GREGARIOUS CHANTS IN HONOR OF THE LORD'S ANNOTATED.
ONLY 40S TODAY. WOKE AT 6 AND IT WAS ONLY 25. I WENT BACK TO BED.
I DID MY LAPS THIS MORNING AND THEN SAT AT MY SEWING MACHINE. I FINISHED SNOOPY WITH THE NAP QUOTE. HE'S ON MY DOOR. I NEEDED TO CUT MORE BINDING STRIPS AND FOR THE GNOME I AM LOOKING FOR SOMETHING WITH GREEN. I HAVE TO HUNT MY STASH.
ORDERED MY STAMPS FOR THE NEXT FEW MONTHS. I AM GLAD THAT MOST OF MY XMAS CARDS WILL BE DELIVERED BY HAND, EITHER BY ME IN THE BLDG, OR BY MY KIDS.
I THINK WHEN SON SHOPS TOMORROW, I WILL ASK HIM TO TRY TO FIND A TURKEY BREAST BUT IF NOT, A TURKEY AROUND 12-14 LBS. I AM SORT OF CRAVING SOME SAUSAGE BREAD STUFFING IN THE BIRD. ITS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I MADE ANY. I GUESS I CAN CUT UP SOME OF THE BIRD FOR FUTURE SOUPS AND SANDWICHES AND STICK IT IN THE FREEZER, IN A CORNER TO FIT. I RARELY HAVE ROOM AFTER FILLING WITH FRESH MEATS.
I AM PLANNING ON CHICKEN RICE SOUP TONITE. MY SON LOVES IT SO WHY NOT, AND I CAN SHARE A BIT AS WELL.
I HAVEN'T PICKED UP A BOOK THE LAST DAY OR SO AND WANT TO GET MY DONNA ANDREWS BOOK FINISHED. MAYBE TODAY.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Afternoon y'all! ![]()
Janet: I am impressed that you were up and out the door by 7! Me I was up and moving, just not out the door! ![]()
Trish, what kind of Jam are you making? ![]()
I have done my walk. Got home before the start of the Merry & Bright Live. I have downloaded my day 3 block, done a load of laundry! We took the Halloween quilt off our bed last night, and I washed it and the shams today, along with my compression socks! Turns out you are supposed to handwash or gentle cycle compression socks! Who knew! I thought since I was washing a quilt that it was a great load to throw them in for. I keep a bucket in my bathroom just for the compression socks. Actually I now do all my socks that way, just so I don't mess up! It's all on the line hoping for some semblance of a breeze to help them dry! ![]()
Simba got one of Bandits old Christmas toys yesterday and has torn all the soft plastic lightbulbs off. They are everywhere! LOL! He is having a blast with them. He had started sneaking my stuffed turkeys off the chairs they were sitting in so I figured he needed a new toy. Who knows how many of Bandits toys are in the basement. I can pull them and give them to Simba as he becomes bored with what he has! ![]()
Luke is doing OK. He so wants to go back to work! Todd and Alex are on their way there! There's a Mississippi State game tomorrow that they are going to see. They are playing UGA. 11AM start in Mississippi, noon start here! A bit too early in the day to start football! ![]()
Yesterday, I got a bunch of Mom's stuff put away or in the donate bin. It's amazing how much better the basement looks! More to do! We also found a ton of empty bins that were just stacked with lids on as if they had stuff in them. Along with empty boxes. My poor recycle bin is going to be loaded! I am keeping a few for Christmas presents, the rest are being recycled. I also sat at my laptop, since it was behaving, and bought some Christmas gifts! Not from the list either! ![]()
This afternoon I am doing no housework! I am going to play in my sewing room!![]()
That's all from my little corner of the world! ![]()

I posted the Snoopy picture on my blog. Could not get it thru my usual channel at Post Images for some reason.

Sandra, your Snoopy is adorable, and I love the saying you put on it.
Devonne, Gabriel is a junior. Our granddaughter, Abby, is a senior this year. She is doing college online and finishing 2 classes for her senior year at school.
Dean and I took a lot of things to the AMVets donation site. they have a huge thrift store near Aaron's house in Akron.
I went and got my sewing machine back today. I hope it works for a long time, this time. They changed my bobbin case and charged me $60 for an "official" Janome bobbin case. I told him that bobbin case was the one that came with the machine from their store! He him-hawed around and said, "it must have been different then". Yes, you think? I bought this machine in 2001 and it is the same case. Anyway, I hope anew case makes the machine run more smoothly. I have not tried sewing yet.
I was flossing my teeth the other day and a part of my filling came off. I was not sure if it was a part of my tooth or the filling since it is tooth colored. I got into the dentist office today an he xrayed it and said no cavity. So he just polished off the little jagged part and sent me on my way. It makes me a little nervous because I do not want another cavity. It was just a little portion of the filling. Best part, no charge except for the xray and my insurance pays that!!
It was rainy and cold today. Supposed to get some snow by Monday.

Yikes, Cheryl, snow already! It’s in the 60’s today, but temp will drop for early next week to the 30’s!
I bought a big 3 binder, and am going to organize all the recipes I have printed out. One binder for recipes I’ve made, and one for ones I plan to try. And get rid of the ones I know I won’t make.
While it’s nice, Ralph is disconnecting both fountains and putting the Christmas decorations outside.
Nothing else going on here.

Good Morning, I'm really running late this morning, but Tracy, Frank and I are getting ready to leave, can't remember why, but I'm sure it will be fine. See you all later, BJ.

MIXED METAPHORS.....
1. THE SLOWDOWN IS ACCELERATING.
2. THAT SNAKE IN THE GRASS IS BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE.
WE'RE HAVING A WARM AND SUNNY DAY TODAY, IN THE HIGH 50S. EXPECTING REALLY LOW TEMPS TO FOLLOW AND LAST NIGHT DROPPED BELOW FREEZING.
CHERYL.......I HOPE YOUR MACHINE WORKS GREAT ONCE AGAIN.
HOLLY.......I KEEP MY RECIPES IN 3 INDEX CARD BOXES. ONE IS FOR THOSE I HAVE NOT YET TRIED, AND TWO ARE FOR MY OLD FAITHFUL RECIPES, WITH DIVIDERS FOR TYPES OF DISH.
MY SON SHOPPED AND THO HE COULD NOT GET ME A TURKEY BREAST, HE GOT ME A 13-LB BUTTERBALL. I DO NOT HAVE ROOM IN MY FREEZER SO WHEN IT DEFROSTS, I WILL ROAST IT STUFFED AND SAVE SOME IN THE FREEZER. I REALLY LIKE TURKEY SO I WANTED TO BE SURE I MADE SOME THIS MONTH.
THANK YOU FOR THE KIND WORDS ABOUT SNOOPY. I REALLY LIKE DOING THIS DOG. HE'S ADORABLE. I PLAN TO DO A FEW MORE WITH DIFFERENT QUOTES AND DESIGNS.
I GOT SOME BINDINGS CUT THIS MORNING, BOTH BLACK AND DARK GREEN. THE DARK GREEN WILL WORK WITH MY XMAS GNOME.
I ALSO GOT SOME CLEANING DONE BEFORE MY SON ARRIVED. THE BATHROOM, DRY SWIFFERED THE FLOORS, VACUUMED THE RUGS.
I SENT HIM HOME WITH CHICKEN RICE SOUP AND A COUPLE OF ITALIAN SANDWICHES MADE WITH SALAMI AND CHEESE.
FOR LATE LUNCH I AM HAVING THE REST OF THE CHICKEN SOUP. I DIDN'T GET VERY MUCH FOR MYSELF FROM THIS POT BUT ITS OK. I NEED TO CUT BACK ON MY EATING ANYWAY.
I AM HOOKED NOW ON THE OLD FAMILY MATTERS SERIES WITH JALEEL WHITE AS STEVE URKEL. I USED TO ENJOY THOSE VERY MUCH. NOW I CAN LAUGH ALONG WITH THEM ONCE AGAIN.
I STILL HAVE NOT TURNED ON MY HEAT. I HAVE 2 WINDOWS OPEN RIGHT NOW AND MY FLOOR FAN GOING AND THE DESK FAN IN THE SEWING ROOM TO STIR THE AIR. ITS 56 OUT.
THAT'S IT LADIES. I THINK I WILL SORT, BAG, AND FREEZE MY MEATS TOMORROW AND WATCH SOME TV TODAY WHILE I TRY TO FINISH MY DONNA ANDREWS MYSTERY. SUPPER MAY BE A SALAD.
I HAVE TO STOP BRINGING HOME THE LITTLE CANDY BARS THAT ARE LEFT FOR US AT THE MAIL BOXES. THEY ARE MY DOWNFALL. I KNOW I HAVE THE STRENGTH TO NOT LOOK AT THEN ANYMORE IN FUTURE. I KNOW THAT'S WHAT KEEPS ME FROM LOSING ANOTHER POUND.
HUGS FOR YOU ALL. QB S ![]()

QB Snoopy is cute! ![]()
Cheryl: Keep that white stuff!
Hope the machine works great! ![]()
Holly I'm on my second Binder for recipes! I keep the "to try" not in the Binders since I think I have tried them when I do that! Just how my mind works! I have tried 3 new ones in the last few weeks. 2 were winners one needs some tweaking! ![]()
Today was Starbucks, DSW to donate a pair of shoes, Walked to REI, got some Christmas list stuff, then to Home Goods, which is next to REI, bought more stuff, then Target and home. Got a bunch of Christmas shopping done. ![]()
Sara met me at Starbucks and Joined me on the shopping trip!
Simba did not sleep in his crate last night. He started out in his bed, in my room, then on my bed. He has to snuggle close to me, hard to turn when he's that close! LOL! ![]()
Need to pull out wrapping paper, and boxes for Christmas presents. I'm cheap and save the boxes year to year, unless they become ragged, then they get recycled. Each year with the post Christmas sales I replace what I need and put away for the next year! Works for me! ![]()
Nothing else from my little corner of the world! ![]()

Funeral question! Ben and Amary are in Iowa for his uncle’s funeral, except his uncle didn’t want a funeral, so they are having a visitation. But there is no after visitation meal for those who attended. Is that a Midwest thing? Here there is always a meal after the burial, or after the funeral service if the deceased is being cremated. It’s not usually at the home, but out at a restaurant or catering hall, and gives the attendees time to visit.
So are funeral procedures a regionally different thing?
Theresa, good for you! There’s only like 6 weeks til Christmas! I use gift bags, and Heather gives them back after.
Finally, the sausage Stromboli is in the oven, and we’ll have the rest of my Applebee’s salad with it.
