Hi, everyone! I've been super busy with reviews, paperwork for a concierge-type doctor, and life in general! I hope you are all happy and well, and enjoying life! ❤️🤗🙏🏻

YIKES CHERYL I say RUN as far and fast as you can from those forms, what a cheek to ask you to sign, it would probably involve you paying for the privilege, I am so sorry that has happened to you.
SANDRA while I'm sorry not as many came to potluck, at least you all had fun, and learnt not to have too much next time, it's a wonderful idea, and maybe every month other two do it again, with just 2 mains, couple sides and desserts. I love it, AND your drawings, gorgeous, and like HOLLY says, what a great view from your window!!
So good to hear from PATTY, yikes on the snow!!!
HOLLY your strips look great, thanks for another TO READ -- LOL I have a big list now!
I have had a packed few days, I forgot about the anniversary of my school (100 years since it opened) and my mum went there too.
So Friday it was sewing, picked up my quilt for sis, I'll get a pic tomorrow, love it!
Saturday usual stuff, training, shopping and getting the binding on the quilt, then today was the anniversary.
Only 6 of us 'old girls' went, but they wanted pics with us, and they had so much memorabilia in the library.
We browsed there for a long time, met one of the nuns from the order, she knew some of "our" nuns, one is still alive, 94 and sharp as a tack, our photos and names will go back to her tonight, she was also a friend of MY mum.
My friend Denise and I were babies together, and our mums were in class together too, I found some pics of them from 1930s, so we took pics of them, hard to see, but what a find. I have no idea where they got all the pics, the current principal wanted pics of us, and also with him, so I guess we might be in the archives in years to come LOL
It was an exciting day, mass first with the bishop, then lunch and touring the rooms and exhibition. Got home quite late and I'm tired. Brought back lots of memories, and we told stories of hanging out the windows in the upper floors to clean the outside of the windows before the school holidays, and sliding across the wood floors polishing with beeswax and have it shine, can you imagine now, there would be OH & S people berating them all, our parents were all in favour of our cleaning, it was just how it was back then LOL
I will check in tomorrow. See you later, sleep well!!

SIGNS OF THE TIMES.....
1. ON THE GROUNDS OF A PRIVATE SCHOOL: NO TRESPASSING WITHOUT PERMISSION.
2. IN A LIBRARY: BLOTTER PAPER WILL NO LONGER BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE PUBLIC STOPS TAKING IT AWAY.
COOL DAYS AND NIGHTS NOW BUT I STILL OPEN MY 2 WINDOWS FOR FRESH AIR. MY APT IS STILL NICE AND WARM. NITES 30S BUT DAYS 50S AND SUNNY.
CHERYL......I SAY ASK SOMEONE WHO KNOWS A BIT ABOUT LAW. SIGNING MAY MAKE YOU LIABLE FOR THE LEIN'S BALANCE.
TRISH.......I AGREE, JUST 2 MAIN MEALS WITH SIDES AND DESSERTS WILL WORK BEST IN FUTURE. AND THE MAIN MEALS CAN BE SMALLER. AS YOU REMEMBER THE 8-LB PORK BUTT WAS ONLY ONE MAIN MEAL BUT WITH SIDES AND SALAD AND DESSERT AND WORKED OUT WONDERFULLY WELL.
I STILL HAVE LEFTOVERS TO EAT FROM THIS LATEST POTLUCK.
I REORGANIZED MY HALLWAY DISPLAY AREA SO I CAN SHOWCASE MORE PIECES. I THINK IT WILL WORK OUT BETTER. I POSTED THE UPDATED PICS IN MY QUILTCRAFTER BLOG THIS MORNING.
ITS SUNDAY SO MY DAY OF REST. I AM THINKING A BIT OF SEWING AND SOME JIGSAW PUZZLE WORK.
I GOT A NOTICE THAT IF I SPENT 19.99 OR MORE AT BITS AND PIECES FOR PUZZLES, I COULD GET FREE SHIPPING WITH A CODE NUMBER. I WENT THRU THEIR LATEST CATALOG LISTINGS AND FINALLY CHOSE A SET OF 4 PUZZLES. WENT THRU THE PROCEDURE TO ORDER AT 29.99 SET OF 4 AND LO CAN BEHOLD, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I ENTERED MY FREE SHIPPING CODE, THEY STILL WERE GOING TO CHARGE ME 12.99 FOR SHIPPING. NO WAY JOSE. I DUMPED THE IDEA.
WISHING YOU ALL A GREAT DAY. HUGS QB S ![]()

Good Morning to everyone!! It is only about 46* outside this morning, really chilly!! The wind is blowing up high, but not so much down low! I really don't have much to say this morning, so will sign off, wishing you all well. Have a wonderful day, BJ.

Greg visited yesterday. After he left, I finished getting up the brush in the backyard. It was only one large bag, unlike the left side that was 7 or 8 large bags. Ten more minutes and I'll be finished with the rose bed. I'm not sure if I want to put out the mulch now or wait until Spring.
Cheryl, I'm in agreement with the others; don't sign that paper. I'm surprised they would ask you to sign it since you haven't been involved in his life in years. It's only my Part D prescription plan I am changing. Greg helped me understand some of the stuff yesterday. I have an Aetna supplemental plan that I'll keep. All those plans are expensive, lol. I do pay copays with my plan. I have Plan N.
Linda, my azaleas, one hydrangea and all the knockout roses are still blooming. The colder temps this week will get them for sure!
Theresa, glad the probate is done. You will be glad to get the final papers in the mail! Glad Simba knew how to go home.
Sandra, that is a lot of food! It's good you don't have to cook today!
I'm trying to get used to the taste of Nutpod creamer for my coffee. It has zero carbs and no sugar. The one I got is almond and coconut. Not nearly as good as the heavy cream, lol. Tomorrow I will weigh to see if I have reached my goal before the end of October. I only weigh on Mondays.

We have UHC Medicare Advantage PPO through the company DH worked for. We had dental insurance with Aetna but now changed to Delta. Our health insurance is excellent. We pay less in a year than most who I know pay in a month. We have to each meet a $300 deductible. RXs except for a few are $0 - 5. Eye care comes under medical…$10-20 co pay for visits. Glasses, contact lenses, etc are not included. So we would never shop around for insurance.
I need to get moving (LOL) it’s 4pm…lol. DH needs a haircut and I have no plan for dinner. We will probably eat out on the way home from his drs appt tomorrow.

Thanks everybody for the opinions on the issue with my deceased dad. I do not want to sign anything. I have 6 letters from the attorney and I just put them in a drawer. Now the phone calls are starting. I guess I should answer one and say" Not signing anything!" I don't want any part of anything to do with them.
Devonne, do you not have prescriptions with your supplemental plan? Aetna is my supplemental but it will change in the dental area this coming year and I do seem to have dental work done as my teeth are not strong.
I had to get a crown last year and I think just yesterday I broke a piece of one of my fillings on another tooth while flossing. I need to call and get in to see the dentist before next year cause it is all covered this year. I do like the prescription since my monthly prescriptions alone pays for the cost of the insurance for me.
Janet, your insurance sound wonderful. I had great insurance when I was working, but I could not afford it when I retired. The cost was based on the teacher salary and I was a school secretary for 25 years. We all belonged to the same union, but it definitely benefited the teachers more than support staff.
Trish, how wonderful to find pictures of your mum from so many years ago. I love seeing old pictures and not just of my family; I like old pics for places, people, etc.
We had trick or treating here today and I have lots of candy left. Not many kids came out. I think too many neighborhoods having it on different days makes it confusing to people as to when to do it. The neighborhood just a couple streets over had it yesterday evening. Another one had it on Saturday afternoon. I think we many not do it next year either since Amelia said this was her last one. She is 12. Gabriel is 16 and would not go do it, even though we did have some teens.
Sandra, your Casper WH is adorable!! All are cute, but he is my favorite. That blue is perfect for the night sky.
Nothing else to say, so will close for now.

Cold here too and heavy rain. ![]()
Cheryl, I do not have a drug plan with my supplemental plan. After 2005, they quit offering Part D with supplemental plans (that's my understanding).
I barely met my weight goal, but I did it! My goal is 5 lbs. at a time. Good luck, everyone, and congrats to Holly and Sandra. Way to go, girls! I'm losing it slower, but down 18.5 lbs. I have two pair of pants I can fit in now that I love. Still tight, but I can pull them up, lol. ![]()
Greg has booked us a cruise for next September. I plan to weigh a lot less and get my knees in better shape. I'm going to the ortho dr. this week for cortisone shots. All the yard work probably aggravated my osteoarthritis.

MANGLED MODIFIERS.......
1. LOCKED IN A VAULT FOR 50 YEARS, THE OWNER OF THE JEWELS HAS DECIDED TO SELL THEM.
2. BREAKING INTO THE WINDOW OF THE GIRLS' DORMITORY, THE DEAN OF MEN SURPRISED 10 MEMBERS OF THE FOOTBALL TEAM.
TEMPS NOW SITTING IN THE 50S DAY AND 30S NITES. ITS TRULY FALL NOW. BUT STILL MY WINDOWS GET OPENED FOR THE FRESH AIR.
DEVONNE.....GOOD FOR YOU. THAT'S A REASONABLE GOAL EACH TIME AND MUCH EASIER THAN TRYING TO KNOCK OFF 20 LBS AT A TIME. I APPLAUD YOU. AND YOU SEEM TO EAT HEALTHIER FOODS.![]()
I HAVE BEEN DOING SOME SKETCHING THIS MORNING. I HAVEN'T YET DONE MY LAPS SO NEED TO GET TO IT BEFORE OSCAR ARRIVES AROUND NOON. I AM DOG SITTING TODAY FOR A FEW HOURS. GETTING IN MY 'DOGGY' FIX. I ENJOY IT AND OSCAR IS SUCH A LOVABLE DARLING. PART OF MY DOG SITTING TIME I SIT IN THE UPHOLSTERED CHAIR IN THE COMMON ROOM AND READ WHILE OSCAR LIES AT MY FEET WAITING TO GREET ANY RESIDENTS WHO COME THRU.
I AM STILL INTO LEFTOVERS BUT I AM MAKING INROADS. BECAUSE OF THIS I AM NOT STEPPING ON THE SCALE UNTIL MAYBE NEXT WEEKEND WHEN I CAN BE SURE I AM BACK ON MY EATING PLAN. I DON'T WANT TO BE DISCOURAGED AT ALL.
I AM READING A GOOD COZY MYSTERY, "MURDER AT THE PUMPKIN PAGEANT" BY DARCI HANNAH. THERE IS A NON-VIOLENT RESIDENT GHOST LIVING IN THE LIGHTHOUSE. ITS PERFECT FOR THE SEASON THIS WEEK.
HAVE A LOVELY DAY LADIES. STAY SAFE. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Devonne, congratulations on the weight loss! Slow and steady wins the race! When I see on instagram people that lose weight rapidly, I wonder if they will maintain it.
Cheryl, that sounds so strange to have trick or treating on any day but actual Halloween. Is there a reason? The most we’ve had in 30 years is 10 kids. We’re at the dead end of our street, .3 miles off the main road, and no little kids near us. The past 2 years we’ve had zero kids.
I did ten minutes on the treadmill this morning, it was like .15 mile. I’m building it up. Ralph has been using it any day he doesn’t do yard work, and said he’s been sleeping much better.
It’s sunny and 53 here. We have the heat set on 65, so I wear a light cardigan over my long sleeved tee.
Dinner will be leftovers from Mission Barbecue from yesterday.

Holly, I am not sure as to why the trick or treating is on any day but Oct 31. I think it had to do with safety for the kids. My kids always had it on Halloween from 6-8 p.m. That was it was still somewhat light for the little ones and the older ones had it dark. Dean and I still think it is weird to do it from 3-5 p.m. in the light, not on Halloween, but we hand out candy. I have a lot left over so not sure what to do with it. I used to take it in to school when I worked, but now I don't have a place to get rid of it. Teachers always ate it or gave it out as rewards/treats to the kids.
When I was a kid, our house sat at the very top of a long hill, so we never got any kids up there. Mom used to sit down at the bottom of the hill and did see a few. We lived in the hills of the Appalachian Mountains in Eastern Ohio, quite near the Ohio River. Lots and lots of hills. We used to say it was uphill walking to school and uphill going home, and it was!![]()
It was sunny and 55 today, so Dean and I went for a long walk. These pretty days will be gone soon.

I have never been a fan of T or T. I rarely allowed my kids to go. I used to bring them to the corner store and let them buy whatever candy they wanted. More often than not they had an overnight party at our house.

I do eat a lot of healthy food, but not always! I love every vegetable in Produce, especially cauliflower, broccoli and I love all of the greens, esp. kale and cabbage is my favorite. I'm not a fan of radishes and haven't had bok choy.
Cheryl, we didn't live on a hill, but Billy did. I lived about 2 1/2 miles from him. When he couldn't get his car off the hill in the winter months, he would walk to my house. That was true young love, lol! ![]()
When Greg came yesterday, I sent a huge bag of Halloween candy home with him for his T&T kids. He decided to have a sugar babies snack on the way home and his crown fell out. They were able to fix it. He wasn't going to tell me if he had to pay $1,000, lol. ![]()
I still have four bags of candy. Greg said he would take it to work if I have any leftover. I did not buy the good stuff (Reeses, M&M's, Snickers) to tempt me! ![]()
I hope Judy and Howard are enjoying their trip to Virginia. I forgot to ask when they were coming back home.

Good Morning to everyone!! It is very breezy here this morning, but so colorful. The bushes are so pretty, some are red, some are green and some yellow. I don't have any plans for the day but Tracy is here and will likely have something planned. Well, I think I'd better head to the kitchen and see if breakfast is planned. Hope you all have a wonderful day. BJ.

I can’t think of anything more relaxing and mesmerizing than listening to ocean waves! Lynn and Bill drove from their house in Michigan to my house in southern Illinois on Sunday. Yesterday we drove to Destin, where we have a condo on the beach rented for the rest of the week. After going out for a delicious breakfast and getting some groceries, I am now situated on our balcony. We plan to do a bit of walking on the beach this afternoon, other than that we will just enjoy being lazy.

Mary Lou, that sounds wonderful! Enjoy!
I made a second bowl cozy. I used the next size up template, and made the darts shallower. My girls are admiring it on our family chat.
Manda has been using my ancestry account for about a year now, tracing Ralph’s family line and gathering paperwork to apply for dual citizenship with Italy. She has no plans to move, but thought it might give expanded educational opportunities for the kids. It’s a whole lot of birth, marriage, and death certificates, and she presents them to the Italian consulate in San Francisco. She is also using dual lingo to learn to read and speak Italian.
It’s cloudy and 55 here.

WONKY ADS.......
1. GREAT DAMES FOR SALE.
2. HAVE SEVERAL VERY OLD DRESSES FROM GRANDMOTHER IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION.
MY WINDOWS ARE OPEN AGAIN. LOVELY DAY IN THE 50S AND SUNNY.
HOLLY.......IN ITALY YOU CAN'T GET A DRIVER'S LICENSE UNLESS YOU CAN READ AND SPEAK ITALIAN. THE TEST, WITH DOZENS OF QUESTIONS, IS ALL IN ITALIAN. SMART TO LEARN THE LANGUAGE.
AS FOR BEING AT THE OCEAN, THAT'S WHAT I LOVED MOST ABOUT THE OCEAN WHEN WE LIVED AT OLD ORCHARD BEACH. HEARING THE WAVES ALONG THE SHORE. BUT THAT WIND COME WINTER, IN MAINE, IT IS BITINGLY COLD AND ICY. BEST TO VACATION DURING THE WARMER MONTHS IN ANY CLIMATE.
I WENT TO COFFEE MORNING WHILE MY LAUNDRY WAS GOING. THE DISCUSSION WAS OUR XMAS PARTY. THIS ONE MAY BE JUST APPETIZERS. WE ALL HAD LEFTOVERS WITH SO MANY MAIN DISHES AND ALL THE OTHER STUFF. EVEN EXTRA BOTTLES OF SODA LEFTOVER. I WILL HAVE TO THINK WHAT I CAN MAKE FOR AN APPETIZER. MAYBE SOME VERY SMALL BUNDIES (MEAT TURNOVERS) OR MAYBE A TRIANGULAR PILLSBURY DOUGH WITH SOME SORT OF MEAT AND CHEESE FILLING. I MAY HAVE TO TRY OUT A FEW DIFFERENT CHOICES TO SEE WHAT TASTES BEST.
ANYWAY, I DID MY LAUNDRY TODAY SO THAT IS OUT OF THE WAY SHOULD THE STORM HIT OUR COAST AND KNOCK OUT POWER. THAT MELISSA IS A BADDY AT CATEGORY 5 RIGHT NOW. HOPING SHE PETERS OUT BEFORE SHE HITS ANY OF OUR COAST.
I AM READING ANOTHER BOOK WHICH KEEPS MY MIND WORKING. I STILL HAVE TO HANG MY WASH N WEAR DRESSES IN THE CLOSET BUT THAT'S WON'T TAKE ME LONG.
WISHING YOU WELL. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Sandra, a couple of appetizers suggestions. Mini hot dogs wrapped in crescent dough and baked. Dates wrapped in bacon and baked. Christmas meatballs- in crockpot, put little meatballs, jar of chili sauce, and a can of cranberry sauce. (Stir before serving).
