INDY I agree, SANDRA keep posting them, I don't remember if I've heard them before, and always brightens my day!!
INDY you sure had a fun day LOL -- the Mr doesn't check messages either, and when he does he often tells me about an EMAIL - "was it a message or email" then he checks the wrong place and denies getting it LOL
SANDRA I hope you feel better today, good that you have an appt soon, hope you got some rest, and enjoy that dinner being brought to you for a change.
JANET if it can go wrong it usually does - that's seems to be your motto, sorry!!! I do hope you can have some good things head your way, I agree with everyone, leather and fabric go well together, I actually prefer the fabric in summer, leather always gets too hot.
HOLLY I would have thought there wasn't much difference in the threading, glad you figured it out, I am having the same problem with a knitting pattern seems simple enough, but the doing is not so simple!
CHERYL too sad about the drownings, it happens here all the time, mostly those new to Australia, they just don't know how to swim OR they know nothing about how dangerous some places are. We had many drownings over the summer.
DEVONNE enjoy the visit with the kids, good idea to "bank" some sleep in advance, and then you can rest up when they leave (((hugs)))
STRINGS it does take a while to catch up, we love having you here though!
I spent yesterday and today figuring out how to cut the borders on the quilt, it's directional and I had to decide on which border to put on first, usually you do sides first, then top and bottom, not this time, the fabric worked out better doing the top, tried to match up the joins as best as I could, and then try to match them when they intersected, finally got it done, a fair bit of "ripping" but the top is finished, just need to find backing.
I am disappointed that I had to cut the strips going by the lines on the print, so they are not cut on straight of grain, but it had to be done that way, the print was way off being straight, it was 1 1/4" wider at the top of a strip, so each border (for the sides) had to be cut twice, once to cut with the pattern lines, then trimmed to the size I wanted. Lots of wasted fabric, and really annoying, it was a Moda fabric too.
We did our exercise class this morning, it was so cold out!! Only about 36F and a cold wind, I was tempted not to go, but dragged on my big girl panties and went, glad I did, I felt better afterwards.
Tomorrow I am having such with my old school friends, we have been friends for 72 years now, sometimes I just can't believe it's been that long, started kindy together aged around 5. We have all aged but still feel young when we get together.

ACCIDENTAL BLOOPERS......
1. I SAW A SLOW-MOVING, SAD FACED OLD GENNTLEMAN, AS HE BOUNCED OFF THE HOOD OF MY CAR.
3. THE PEDESTRIAN HAD NO IDEA WHICH DIRECTION TO RUN, SO I RAN OVER HIM.
TODAY WE ARE GETTING SOME RELIEF. ONLY IN THE 70S TODAY. LOVE IT.
I SKIPPED BINGO LAST NITE. DROPPED OFF IN A NAP AND BY THE TIME I WOKE, THEY HAD STARTED SO I DIDN'T GO. THAT MEANS I DIDN'T LOSE ANY MONEY THIS WEEK. A GOOD THING.
CHERYL......THAT'S SAD NEWS ABOUT THE DROWNINGS. THAT HAPPENS HERE, TOO. OUR LAKE HAS ITS DISASTERS AND WHEN I LIVED AT THE BEACH, THE UNDERTOWS TOOK THEIR TOLLS ON SWIMMERS.
AS TO UNDERTOWS, BY NOW YOU WOULD THINK ALL SWIMMERS MUST HAVE HEARD ONE SHOULD SWIM CROSSWAYS FROM THE TIDE TO GET OUT OF AN UNDERTOW. YET STILL WE LOSE SOME EACH YEAR. THEY SHOULD HAVE A LARGE SIGN AT ALL OCEAN BEACHES TO INSTRUCT HOW TO BE SAFE.
TRISH......LOVE THE QUILT TOP. I USED TO PUT COLORFUL SQUARES AT THE CORNERS ON SOME QUILTS AND ON OTHERS IT WAS BLOCKS AND BLOCKS OR STRIPS OR 4-PATCHES FROM ONE END TO THE OTHER. THEN WHEN NOTHING CAME TO MIND, OR I WAS JUST TIRED AND WANTED A QUICKER FINISH, I WOULD SEW ON THE SIDE BORDERS, THEN THE TOP AND BOTTOM BORDERS. I LIKED THE FULL BORDER ACROSS TOP AND BOTTOM. I NEVER CARED FOR DOING MITRED BORDERS THOUGH I DID A COUPLE.
NOTHING NEW HERE. I DID FRY SOME BURGERS LAST NITE AND HAD SOME WITH CREAMED CORN AS A SIDE DISH. TODAY I CAN HAVE LEFTOVERS.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Today is the 6th anniversary of the worst thing that happened to our family, the death of Joseph. I’ve been texting with Donna, Samantha and Michael. Big Mike still doesn’t want to talk about it, so I respect that. It’s also Manda and Ben’s 15th anniversary, and the anniversary of my brother John’s motorcycle accident. So just too much.
Housecleaner Lisa is just finishing up, then we’re going to AAA to get passport photos taken to renew the passports. Then to Olive Garden for lunch!
Cheryl, so tragic.

We got very heavy rain at 4:30 am...will save on my watering bill!
My neighbor, Robert, came over and put out 13 bags of mulch for me. He is so kind and I told him he did a professional job. He is 60 years old and on disability with lots of health problems.
The kids didn't come over. Hannah was off and she took them to White Water. Gary didn't want to go so he met me for lunch. We have a good hamburger place called Jeffersons.
Judy, we are getting a Chipotles. I've never ate there before, but Greg loves it. It's about halfway finished.
Trish, I love the border! You did a great job, even with the problem with the Moda fabric.
Cheryl, that is so sad about the dad, the 5 year old boy and the other person. Why do people get in the water without life jackets! Accidents happen all the time. We had a boat once. When we took it out, it started taking on water. We hurried back to the dock. Gary told us years later he was the one that took the plug out, lol!

Devonne, it's pouring here right now. We have a well, but I love summer rains for their cooling and how they perk everything up immediately. (ETA: and just that quick the sun's out!)
We have three Chipotles nearby. Both ML and I love the bowls with pork for the meat. And their guac is delicious on the top. And I always get the white rice. I never care for brown no matter how much better is is for you. Since Howard won't eat there it truly is a treat when I get to.
Holly, so sorry for the heartaches this day holds for you, with one joy, the anniversary. As with everything else, I can't believe they've been married 15 yrs. Forgot to congratulate you on the new machine.
Howard is off to lunch with Dave. I can tell you it's fried shrimp for him and always they eat at Culver's. Means supper for him will be the one slice of l/o meatloaf, l/o corn and a small salad.
Trish, that quilt is beautiful. So lively and colorful. No one will notice the off grain but might really have if the pattern was wonky. I forget...who is it for?
I must admit when Howard is gone, I do nothing! Except just what I want to. Don't get me wrong, he doesn't order me around or tell me what to do or remind me of what needs to be done, it's my own conscience that prods me, except when I'm here alone.
QB, I'll bet they miss you when you don't go to Bingo. Sometimes a maverick nap is a good thing. You don't have to decide on anything.
Think I'll check out my e-mail and maybe watch something on The Quilt Show. Do any of you subscribe to it? I enjoy it enough that the $50 it costs a year is worth it to me.
Have a great day...
Indy

Trish- quilt is very nice! Moda has always been one of my go to fabric manufacturers. Sorry to hear you were disappointed.

Trish, I'm beginning to distrust any directional fabric for that reason. I think fabric manufacturers are just as lazy as some other industries these days. The quilt looks great despite your challenges.
The other comfort quilt is held up "in transit." I'm not sure what is going on. I'm posting a picture of Theresa's quilt.

Wow, Carol! So beautiful! Trish, also! I hear thunder in the distance.
Devonne, Jules would eat at Chipotle every day! She’s in orientation at Stockton, and had bruschetta for the first time, and now she’s annoyed that she never had it before. Kids, LOL.
We got our passport photos, and went to Olive Garden. We get the salad with the dressing all on the side, so we can bring home the leftover and it’s not soggy.
Today has been unsettling. All the memories of Joseph on Facebook, and texting with the family. I’ll be glad when the day is over, then it’s quiet til September 2, the 4th anniversary of my nephew David’s death.
Tomorrow is supposed to be cooler. We have to go to Walgreens, the bank, and the library.

Still as boring today as it was yesterday! Amelia asked if I would pick her up tomorrow so she could spend the day with us. She gets so bored at home as she is mostly alone. Gabriel is always there with her, but he plays computer games with headphones on, so he ignores her. She is a very social girl and misses talking. I am not a talker and some days she gets on my nerves.
Gabriel is like me, and is very calm and quiet. Amelia is all drama all the time.
On the subject of Chipotle: I hate it. I tell the grand kids we can eat anywhere but there as just the smell of it makes me cringe. I am not a fan of Mexican food most of the time, but that smell from there gets me every time. Enough on that subject.
Trish, thanks for showing us how that quilt went together! I really like that green.
Sandra, how nice that a neighbor brought you supper! You are so giving that it is great that she returned the action.
Holly, sorry the day was sorrowful for you.
Aaron's AC is still not working properly and the installer is not answering Dean. He is a good friend of Dean's so Dean is quite upset at the slight. He said at least they could tell him they are extremely busy. He called another company and they cannot get out till next Thursday. They said most likely just need new coolant put in it. At least they talked with Dean for a while asking questions about the AC. Aaron is one of those people who has his AC on all the time, so this heat wave is driving him crazy. I only put my AC on when it hits 90 degrees. It makes me feel closed in and we have to have that in the winter, so summertime I keep my windows open.
Made a chicken and noodle casserole with the left over chicken breasts and some of the Stovetop stuffing. It was good and I love using all the food I make in one form or another.

ACCIDENTAL BLOOPERS......
1. THE PEDESTRAIN RAN FOR THE PAVEMENT, BUT I GOT HIM.
2. I WAS UNABLE TO STOP IN TIME, AND MY CAR CRASHED INTO THE OTHER VEHICLE. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS THEN LEFT IMMEDIATELY FOR A VACATION WITH INJURIES.
ITS GORGEOUS OUT TODAY WITH SUNSHINE AND AROUND 70. I LOVE THESE DAYS BEST.
ITS A SPECIAL DAY HERE TODAY. BJ AND FRANK HAVE AN ANNIVERSARY. I HOPE THE KIDS ARE THERE TO MAKE YOUR DAY EXTRA SPECIAL. HUGS FOR YOU BOTH.
CAROL.....WHAT A LOVELY QUILT. YOU ARE SO TALENTED. ITS FILLED WITH ALL OUR LOVE AS WELL SO ITS EXTRA SPECIAL.
THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS FOR OUR GROUP. HUGS.
THERESA.....KNOW THAT QUILT IS FILLED WITH OUR LOVE AND CARING.
CHERYL.....ITS TERRIBLE THAT AARON IS NOT GETTING ANSWERS AND A FIX WITH HIS A/C. THIS HEAT HAS BEEN AWFUL.
I HAD FRUIT FOR BREAKFAST AND DID MY LAPS THIS MORNING. I PLAN TO MAKE A POT OF MASHED POTATOES WHICH I WILL SHARE AS WELL. I HAVE BOTH A PORK CHOP AND SOME NY SIRLOIN DEFROSTED SO WILL MAKE UP MY MIND ABOUT SUPPER LATER.

Taste in food is so individualized. Cheryl, I haven't eaten at Chipotle that much but when I have, I've never noticed the smell. After so many years of allergies, I don't think my "smeller" is that good. It seems talkers can't hush and non-talkers can't gear up. Being more quiet is something I work on all the time, but it has to be a conscious effort. Otherwise...
And, over-talking breeds regret, something ML and I often admit to. Bill and Andrew, NEVER!
The role you and Dean have played in Gabriel and Amelia's lives is so admirable.
Holly, Jules will find there are a lot of firsts she'll have in her life. Fortunately for all of us, they usually come along one at a time, here and there. I still get some firsts!
I think you've said, but I can't remember, is she going into nursing, too?
This afternoon, we're going to repeat the plan to eat out with our small group, same restaurant, that we had to cancel two weeks ago, where they have the beef bombs. Something one of their employees came up with: Italian beef and mozza. cheese encased in their good pizza dough, then baked and brushed with garlic butter at the end. They are delicious! Can't wait.
Have a lovely day. Summertime, summertime sum-sum summertime...remember that song?

Judy, first Julie thought she had to go into nursing because we “all” did. Heather pointed out that most of the family are not nurses, so she changed it a few times. Now it’s education, unless she changed it since last week.
We did our errands. Walgreens had 12 packs of soda on sale, so I got some, which will last a long time because we only occasionally want soda. Then to the diner, where I had scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, oj, toast and hot tea. I brought about half home. To the library, I had 7 books in. To the bank to move money, then home. It’s much cooler today, low 70’s and feels like rain.
Dinner will be soup and salad brought home from Olive Garden.

Carol, I didn't know you were doing this quilt. It is just beautiful!
Happy anniversary to BJ and Frank! Wonder how many years?
I pulled my yellow squash plant and zucchini plant. They weren't doing anything. Had one big zucchini, forgot to pick it and it was covered with little white bugs....yucks! I did pick two more cucumbers.
Sadie Grace is here. She didn't want to go to the Braves game, so Gary used her ticket. He said he rather be in front of the tv and the a/c, but Caleb will enjoy him being there!
Greg and I went to Taco Mac for dinner. I like their Philly cheesesteak and bought home half of it. This time I got mac & cheese instead of fries. It was something different and good.
Need to go fix dinner for me and Sadie Grace! She loves corn on the cob & mac and cheese. I'll add a hamburger too.

Afternoon y'all!
Janet we always had a mixture of leather and fabric furniture. Hubby and I don't have any leather anymore. Just have not found what we want. I don't want to spend money on something we don't like, and he agrees!
Thanks for the Birthday wishes!
Thunder off in the distance and the lightening alarm is going off! Rain keeps missing us!
Mom did not get into the assisted living. I knew it was a longshot. I found a "nursing home" close to my house that I didn't know was there. It's a senior care facility. Even the " A Place For Mom" person had no clue it existed. It has great reviews. My advisor is still convinced I can get mom into an assisted living. I am not holding out hope! I have an assessment on Monday for someplace in Cumming. I will have to Map quest it to see where it is. Meanwhile I will tour 2 Nursing/skilled care facilities!
Simba has become a bit of a couch potato with the heat. I agree with him! If I could I too would nap all day!
Dad's Civil Service retirement payments has made all of this for mom harder since she has to stay within commutable distance! But then again I go see her almost everyday! So the closer the better!
Sara's main testing machine is down due to a water leak in a closet that resulted in mold! She is ready to scream, this close to finishing!!!
Alex has started painting his condo. He is tired of all the walls being gray! I agree but didn't want to overstep my bounds! He's taken the initiative, and keeps the condo immaculate! Wish he could have kept his room that way! LOL!
Luke is doing good. He has been elevated to a supervisor position, unofficially. So there will be lots of overtime in his future. Good for him so he can squirrel money away.
My niece is looking to sell her house in South Carolina, finally! She needs to dump that albatross of a house. It's worse than owning a boat!
I have made time to sew. I have been wanting to so bad, that I forgo house stuff to go play with fabric. I am making good progress on my OBW! Working on pairing the half hexies in each row. Doing it that way because I already reversed 2 in one row, and had to have an appointment with Jack to fix it! This way I am slow and methodical to prevent future appointments with Jack. I am also doing a snails trail quilt, started it years ago. I use it as my leaders and enders. I am actually seeing great progress on those blocks. I may finish them before I finish the OBW. We will see, it's my sanity saver right now!
Hubby is doing the grocery run. Amazing that our lists are so small, very little to get each week, yet we always forget something major!
Later my Friends!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BJ & FRANK!!! Wishing you a wonderful year to come!
THERESA fingers crossed for you that the end is in sight, such a long journey you have had made difficult with the care mum has received (((hugs)))
SANDRA hope you are feeling a bit better today, and your heart is behaving itself, possibly a lack of sleep isn't helping either, enjoy your rest today ((((hugs)))
INDY the quilt is going to my niece for her new bub, he's due in August, but it really could be whenever the Drs say so. This will be a "throw on the floor" tummy time quilt for him, the kids all have their bed AND floor quilts, I like that they use them.
HOLLY I am so sorry for the sadness in our family, hopefully time will ease the heartache, I hope you can all focus more on the wedding memories and not the sad ones (((hugs)))
I had a lovely lunch with my friends yesterday -- the few hours we had was fantastic. Sadly although there were 9 of us - often 10 - 5 are widows, strange that it's the partners who have died, some young, some older, sudden and not sudden, it will be difficult when it's one of us. Having been friends for over 70 years it will be hard, but we are all getting older, so not unexpected really.
Then dinner with Gary last night, early up to go to training, it was cold but I went LOL my hands were so cold, glad to get home. Picked up the pants I had to repair for Dean, I forgot to take them home on Thursday, just as well really, brought home 3 pairs, what does he do to split the seams !!! All done and back to their place,
Poor Oscar is missing John & Gary, he wanted to come home with me, he tried to get out the door till Megan pulled him back.
He has been very spoilt having Dean home sick, and John was on semester break from Uni, so he misses the company, Megan said he will ignore Gary when he comes home to show how he is angry that he was gone for so long, only 10 days, but that seems like forever to Oscar I guess LOL
John & Gary have travelled to almost the top of Australia, they didn't get as far as Cairns but now heading home, they just came back into our state last night, they travel inland now till they get home. They have had quite an adventure, seen so much and drive many miles! Mostly camping and a few stops in cabins or pubs.
I wanted to make a slice I saw, maybe tomorrow, I did get the sourdough done this afternoon, I had to feed it a couple days to wake it up LOL so baking that in the morning.

Sandra, I also did my pills for the week. Checked email and stuff, then finished 2 more table runners. Sent a pic to C so she could choose one, I’ll take it with me tomorrow for lunch. Also sent a pic of the 12 pack of Mountain Dew that I bought to Ben, said we’re ready for him to visit.
I finished a really good book that my cookie swap group is all reading. Saving Emma by Allen Eskens. Part procedural, part thriller. He’s a new author to me, so I now requested some of his other books.
Dinner tonight will be Olive Garden salad and possible some pizza from the freezer.
