I've given up on catching up anytime soon! Sadly, we have experienced 3 deaths within 2 weeks! I'll be back when I can. I think of all you, and keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Summer is here, but it has been downright chilly the last few days, and rainy! 😄🤷🏼♀️ It has put a halt to work on our deck for now, but it is going to be spectacular! 👍🏻

Trish, welcome home!
Patty, congratulations on the twins. I watch a young couple on YT that has twin boys, not identical. One looks like Mom and the other looks like Dad.
I returned the heart shaped black onyx ring. It wasn't worth what I paid for it, cheaply made, I'll get another one but doubt it will be heart shaped.
I had Sadie Grace Friday and Saturday. She has quite the imagination. We did makeup and she "scanned" me into the computer with my phone, lol! She said she was checking me in and to be sure I've been here before. She loves cleaning house and has some good ideas.
Time for a late coffee and to let the dogs out! I've been surfing the internet all morning.

FROM READER'S DIGEST......
TWO BUSINESSMEN WERE COMMISERATING WITH EACH OTHER.
"THINGS HAVE GOTTEN SO BAD THAT I HIRED A PROFESSIONAL WORRIER SO I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ANYMORE." SAID THE FIRST MAN.
"THAT SOUNDS GREAT," SAID THE OTHER. "HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?"
"$150,000."
"HOW ARE YOU GOING TO PAY $150,000.?"
"THAT'S HIS WORRY."
ITS A HOT ONE TODAY. WILL HIT HI 80S TODAY, MAYBE 90S TOMORROW. A/C IS A BLESSING.

Good Morning, no plans for the day. I'm just totally lazy today, can't seem to get moving. I did pour myself a cup of coffee though!! So I just thought I'd sign in and sign off, have a lovely day everyone. BJ.
Offline
We had a good day yesterday! Left here at 1 pm for Jules party, got home at 2 am! Lots of family to chat with, and Baby Boone is a party girl! She got passed around all day. So we didn’t get enough sleep last night, and both took catnaps before going to lunch today.
Now we’re home and relaxing.

DIANE so sorry for all the loss in your family, awful news ((((hugs))))
DEVONNE if you aren't happy always good to return straight away, I have kept things and then regretted it. Good luck with the car shopping, any further progress?, too funny about Sadie Grace LOL
SANDRA I am sure Matt will enjoy his dinner with his son, and also his small lunch with you, the tater tot cassy can be eaten later by you too, so it's good it will keep, hope the watermelon comes!!
HOLLY sounds like a great day, enjoyed by all, we are so cold I got shivers thinking about you swimming LOL
It was a late night, I don't usually do them anymore, maybe once a year, I take too long to recover!
BJ a lazy quit day sounds just the thing today, hope all is well with FRANK and his wounds.
INDY I have to think of a ROMEO solution to 'old men bowling and then sitting talking' because that's what they do, he was gone all day Sunday, I actually forgot it WAS Sunday - forgot to lock threads here too OOPS!
I have an early night coming on, I have been sneezing all day, it's just allergies and the cold, but it's exhausting! Been through a full box of tissues, not cold related (or 'flu) just my crazy nose!! When I start I can sneeze up to 20 times in a row, hard to catch your breath even, nothing can be done except allergy or cold/flu tabs. And you can't take them all day.
I did get the borders cut for the baby quilt, and I hope to get the last border cut tomorrow, It's directional, so I have to cut across, then down the fabric, maybe I can match it too, but I'm not going to lose sleep over matching it, it was hard enough matching the 2 pieces to "join" the rows.
I'll attach a pic, I was just auditioning borders so it's not pressed properly. This isn't it, I mustn't have saved the other one - it's only 2/3 of it, the teal geometric in the centre is 2 squares so you can join the row, the end block of dark blue will have it's other half joining it in the next section.

FROM READER'S DIGEST......
1. GOOD PUNCTUATION IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SENTENCE THAT'S WELL-WRITTEN AND A SENTENCE THAT'S, WELL, WRITTEN.
2. A RECENT STUDY HAS FOUND THAT WOMEN WHO CARRY A LITTLE EXTRA WEIGHT LIVE LONGER THAN THE MEN WHO MENTION IT.
ALREADY HOT HERE AT 83 IN THE MORNING. WILL HIT 90S FOR SURE TODAY.
TRISH.......THE MORE I STUDY YOUR QUILT TOP THE HARDER IT IS FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND HOW THE HECK YOU PUT THOSE BLOCKS TOGETHER. LOOKS COMPLICATED. GOOD JOB.
HOLLY.....SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT PARTY. IT APPEARS YOU HAVE A NEW PARTY GIRL IN YOUR FAMILY.
I AM GOING TO HAVE MY DAY OF REST TODAY. I JUST KEPT TOO BUSY YESTERDAY AND THAT WITHOUT MUCH SLEEP THE NIGHT BEFORE. THE ONLY NAP I COULD MANAGE WAS A BOUT A HALF HOUR AFTER SUPPER. LAST NITE IT WAS THE SAME. COULDN'T GET BACK TO SLEEP AFTER NATURE'S EARLY CALL. HATE THOSE MORNINGS. SINCE ITS GOING TO BE ANOTHER HOT ONE, MAYBE I CAN WATCH SOME TV AND DOZE OFF A FEW TIMES TODAY. I HAVE PLENTY OF LEFTOVERS FOR TODAY. THE ONLY THING NEEDS DOING IS PUTTING MEAT IN FREEZER BAGS FOR THE FREEZER. THAT WON'T TAKE ME LONG.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Good Morning to everyone!! As usual, I'm not feeling very bright today. Rhonda stayed overnight and took Elly to the vet this morning, believe she has to have all her teeth pulled, so sad. But that's what happens to an old dog. She has to stay overnight, so no dog today or tonight.
Well, I really don't have a thing to say this morning, so will sign off. Hope you all have a nice day, BJ.

My dau said that their power company sent a text saying they will be shutting down power from 2-8 because of heat and energy demand? 🤔
Remember the movie Soylent Green?

Yay me, got the S6 threaded and running! It’s so different than my 6500, I had to have Ralph read and me thread! I did the topstitching on a table runner and she sews great.
My ears feel plugged up, the air quality is not great, so I took a Claritin.
Manda’s in laws are visiting, and her FIL said he inhaled a pill, and was coughing but could talk. Manda’s texted us, we said 911 and ER. Half hour later, refused ER, felt like it moved. Still coughing. I said eat a piece of bread and drink water. She called and had Ralph talk to him. He’s still coughing his head off. Ralph explained why he needs to be seen, he finally agrees to urgent care. To be continued.
Trish, I stayed in the house at Heather’s. It was in the 90’s and the pool had like 20 kids in it!

Whew! It is hot and muggy! Heat index is 103. Thankfully I have AC and I am staying in the house. Unfortunately Aaron's does not seem to be working well and his house is 89 degrees. Dean looked it all over but said all seems well. We just put in a new furnace and AC 4 years ago at his house. A friend of Dean's did the work and I don't think he did a good job even though he has a huge company and does a lot of HVAC work for Dollar General, especially new store construction. So Dean went over to the house and is taking the grandkids to the mall to look around, just something to do in this heat. He texted the installer, but has not heard back as of yet.
Janet, that is awful about cutting the power to all those people in this heat. I guess they don't want to cause fire in the substations? Two substations in my are have had fires already.
Trish, I agree with Sandra, how did that quilt go together? Y seams? I love yellows and blues together, though, and your quilt is cute. I got a border put on two sides of my latest kid quilt and need to finish tonight. I am not adept at doing those mitered corners and it takes me a while to get to done, so I just put on two side borders and then top and bottom on most of my charity quilts. Still looks OK, but much easier for me.
Take care all.

Janet, I had not heard of that movie. Checked the library and they have it. Checked Libby for an audio book, only one and it was read in German, I think.
Trish, I too am puzzled how your quilt goes together.
Cheryl, I like doing metered corners but I usually have three good ones and one not quite so good.
Another almost as hot day here. No tornadoes last night but the lightning was like a strobe light.
I recently donated 17 quilts to the infusion center at my hospital. Now I'm quilting and binding three that will be for Quilts of Valor.
Congratulations Holly on the new machine!
There's always something to do! Have a great day.

In the 90s here but not humid due to the gusty winds. Our A/C is plugging away. It was new one yr. ago in the spring. We usually turn it off at night with the ceiling fan going in our bedroom, but didn't last night. We/Howard was going to power wash the front of the house today until ML got wind of that and had a fit. And she is right. He is so crazy about getting cold and wet from the cold water, that I thought this over the top heat was when he should do it, completely forgetting the air quality for a guy with COPD. Plus, he doesn't even know if the power washer will run, hasn't used it in three yrs. As my friend used to say about herself and her hubby, "the two of us don't even make one anymore".
I had posted the above because the 'puter was acting up. Added 3 or 4 paragraphs and lost them all, somehow. Now, it's too late to start over...tomorrow's another day!
Anyway, having grilled salmon for supper. Wish I could ever think of what to have with whatever protein I cook. We eat too many potatoes...
Have a good evening.
Indy

We're under a heat advisory for the next two days. Janet, I hope that doesn't happen here.
Trish, Greg and I are going to Car Max this Saturday to test drive a few vehicles. I hope to make a decision this weekend. I love the colors in your quilt. It reminds me of a Bento Box pattern, but not the same.
I am enjoying the few veggies I am getting. I should have okra in 3-4 days. The yellow squash isn't doing good, but I have a zucchini squash to pick later today. I forgot I was going to have tomatoes coming in and bought some at the store, lol. I picked two yesterday. I also have some huge bell peppers that will be yellow bell peppers. I have to wait until they turn yellow to pick them to get that sweet taste. I also have some orange tiny tomatoes I picked this morning...will certainly plant those again next year! Have red husky little tomatos coming soon. They are all still green right now.

Evening y'all!
DS, she does not qualify for Medicare in any way shape or form! It has not been 5 or more years since I sold all her property, it's only been just over one! 4 more years and maybe?!?
Latest on mom, the Place for Mom person thinks she still qualifies for Assisted living. Friday I did 2 tours, the third place she sent is way too far! I chose one and brought them a check today around noon. They are going to assess her tomorrow. I am not holding my breath. Hubby and I think the other place did not want her back and were creating excuses. Praying all goes well tomorrow!
Carol emailed me today that I was getting a package that was due to arrive today via USPS! I had lots going on today. I walked, dropped a check off, home, showered, got my mammo done, Kroger to get mom some stuff, visit mom, home, laundry and a box! Opened the box! Inside was some Georgia Bulldog fabric, a Starbucks card and a beautiful quilt! The card said it was from my ODT Sisters! Words cannot express how I feel. It is absolutely beautiful! I know how much effort this took and that makes the gift that much more meaningful. Thanks so much to everyone who had a role in this. It brightened my day in a way that no words can describe!
Hubby said that the most important one cannot get on that quilt! He will be disappointed!
I did take some me time last week and have 4 rows completed in my OBW quilt!
Need to go, as always much to do!

Yay, it's there!
There is another floating around the USPS system. I'll post pictures of both once they have both arrived.

Sorry for the confusion for the “how to” with the quilt. The crosses mark squares they are the same fabric in each section, so it makes a straight seam when put together, clever pattern and goes together really fast.
CAROL you have a wonderful generous heart, THANK YOU it doesn’t seem enough to say, but it’s heartfelt (((hugs)))
THERESA my FB says it’s your birthday ? If so HAPPY BIRTHDAY dear friend
I am still sneezing, not ‘flu or cold/virus, just me and my weird nose. But it’s made me tired, easy dinner of pulled brisket and I’ll make coleslaw, we have broiche rolls. There is “Cuppa Soup” in the cupboard if he wants that too
See you tomorrow, my haircut is finally happening 🤞

So sorry for the heat issues, a few years ago they shut down power for different suburbs, too much drain on the system, and there were many blackouts also in the southern state, awful when you can't use power, we are lucky to have solar power and that seems to help cut down pulling power from the grid, our neighbour signed up for less $$ on his bill in exchange for not using power in early evening. I won't do it. I want my A/C to be able to run
CHERYL I have trouble with mitres too, I do mitre bindings, and have seen some great tips on YouTube for mitre borders, I always mark the seam with a pencil to make sure it's right, almost always one doesn't quite go right LOL
SANDRA hope the shopping went well and you got some rest today,, not good having no sleep, I know how that feels, it's usually me LOL
DEVONNE YUM what a great haul from your garden, I love yellow peppers, we call them capsicum here, they are so sweet, same with the red ones, the green are OK, but my fav is the red, or the yellow in a briny/pickle, my Croatian neighbour makes them like that, still crunchy, just in a liquid and they keep for ages in the fridge.
PATTY that is a lot of quilts to make, you have done well!!
INDY I have the same problem, I can do the protein part OK, but I don't eat much potato (except sweet) and I don't want too much pasta, we eat lots of veg, I do need a little carb, but not too much, it's a puzzle, I like loads of veg, just not white potato.
HOLLY hope you had a good rest, I would have been indoors too. Pretty hot days are not fun, and we'll have our share sooner rather than later, with solstice past last Saturday. It's been nice today after this mornings rain, it cleared by 11am and was sunny. Tomorrow will be colder again!
JANET I hope they got the power back - I would have gone to the nearest shopping centre, and then the nearest club//pub LOL
I am back to figuring out the borders, I'm using the lime geometric print, so I need to cut the top and bottom across the fabric, then do the length, I want to measure, measure before I do any cutting, I'm sure I will have enough, but I need to be careful.
