Good Saturday morning. Glad yesterday is over. We were supposed to meet our small group members to eat an early supper out at a favorite place, Val's. Early on, two more couples and one single canceled which would have made 7 of the 12 of us, so I called the restaurant and canceled our reservation. After that, the day went downhill even more. At one point, Howard said, Don't be mad at me, all I did was get out of bed this morning! Not true, but he's a man and clueless for the most part. So rather than us two eating out at Val's by ourselves, we went to Culver's, (HIS favorite), then got much needed groceries. In the grand scheme, this is nothing, so please forgive me for being petty.
Tom, next door, just came over and they need to borrow H.'s pickup to move some furniture from here to nearby in Michigan for their son, who rented a trailer but had no vehicle with a hitch to pull it. I'm sorry to say this, but he is the dumbest young man we've ever known. Then Shena came over. She'll drive because she's the better driver. I'm not tooting our horn, but we always lend them or anything we have that they need. However, our Honda has an appt. on Monday for a drive train repair and we will need the truck. Hopefully, all goes well...
Devonne, Moissonnite is suppose to be the creme de la creme of the diamond substitutes. Supposed to be even sparklier. I have good luck with one of those jewelry cleaning cloths. You can get one at W-M for about $6.
My wedding ring is a plain 14K rose gold wide band with a diamond in a bezel setting, so it sits very flat. The diamond was a family one so we used it in my ring when we had our rings made by a local jeweler. Because I'm left-handed, I didn't want a high setting that would catch on things. I wore it alone for years, but always wanted to add a narrow band set with smaller diamonds. About 14 yrs. ago, I spotted exactly what I'd wanted (set in rose gold), and on sale. So now I wear the two together. On my middle finger, L. hand, I also wear an antique wedding band engraved with an over-all pattern (so old that it's mostly worn off) from the late 1800s that belonged to the mother of an elderly, childless family friend who willed it to me. It is the same rose gold as the other two, I have two other narrow yellow gold wedding bands--one an antique from that same person and a plain 18K one that my stepfather, a meter reader who walked his route found in the street in Lafayette, IN, where he and Mom lived. It's the only 18K gold I have ( or will ever have! )
I need to get my supper in the crockpot. Doing country ribs in BBQ sauce. Have a good weekend.

Good day all.
Holly, I finished the "What Have You Done?" book by Shari Lapena. Thanks for mentioning it. I also have downloaded a book by her titled "Someone We Know" and will start it tonight. I am like Sandra in that once I start reading, I don't like to stop. I usually like anything by Lisa Gardner.
I hope you love you new Janome; I know I love mine.
Devonne, my son, Aaron, bought a Rav 4 a couple of months ago. It is red, so not my color, but he likes it. I liked my Highlander much better than the Rav, but now I drive a Toyota Venza. I don't love it, but it was reasonable and runs without any problems at all. I thought I liked it better when we tried it out. The Highlanders are out of my price range these days.
Tomorrow Amelia will be 12 years old. She is the baby of our grandkids, so they are all growing up. She asked for white cupcakes with strawberry frosting and sprinkles, so I made those today. We will do Father's Day and her bday tomorrow. Anthony and his family are coming up on June 29 and we will have one celebration for all 4 grand kids birthdays then. We have May, 2 in June and a July birthdays.
Just got my Ohio Property tax for my house!! YIKES!! This was a reevaluate year and it went up $2000 for the year. My house is paid off and we still have to set aside $600 a month for taxes. I don't think I could live here without Dean's income as my retirement is pretty small from the school. I would have to dip into savings or stocks. Our local taxes went up 30%. I guess it is good if one wants to sell a house.
It has been humid and rainy for the past couple of days. Today is just cool and humid.
Well, either the deer or a groundhog (woodchuck) is eating my plants. Sigh, three of the coleus I planted are eaten down to the stems already. We do have a mama groundhog and three babies living under a storage shed on the back of the yard. We have seen them coming and going.
PS: I bought some locally grown strawberries yesterday and they are so much better than the ones we see in the stores! Yummy. They were not cheap, $8 a quart, but so worth it.

I have never named a machine (I have 10) nor a car?
We went to the furniture store again today and added another recliner and a table and chairs for our lower level. On the way DH said he was sorry he stuck me with the Edge instead of the X5 BMW I wanted.
On the way home there was a detour because of two transformer fires. We had no power when we got home. Only out for a few hours but still a nuisance.

Janet, I’ve never named a car either. LOL, my PopPop called his car Lizzie, as in tin Lizzie. And Jules calls her car Alice, as in wonderland. She was surprised that she had a great great grandmother named Alice. When my brother Mike bought a truck from SIL Ed’s dad, he started referring to the truck as Ed. So when Ralph gave Eddie his truck, Eddie named it Ralph. I din’t name my HQ, either.
Ralph got the table all situated for the new machine. I just have to plug her in.
We only had a few showers today, more coming tomorrow.
Cheryl, I’m glad you liked the book! I have to find more of hers also.

Judy, I'm surprised he would ask to borrow Howard's truck since they're not family....and to go to Michigan?
Cheryl, they are growing up! Can't believe she is already 12. You sure do have a hard time growing anything with the animals eating your plants! I have one of those silver polishing cloths in my Amazon shopping cart, but I'll check Walmart's price.
These are the rings I bought. The first one is a genuine Moissanite. I might buy a matching band later. I really like it. Will see how it holds up. I got the opal one hoping the silver across the top will protect it and keep it from falling out. I think the "diamonds" in the opal are cubic zirconia.
