Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 1 ~ SAT JUNE 7

THANK YOU DIANE, so sorry to hear you are unwell ((((hugs)))) Hope you are feeling much better soon, this 'flu is awful.

THANK YOU JANET & HOLLY, I was thinking more along the lines of what company/business LOL I was way off.

I have been busy today, got the cleaning started as I have the covid vax tomorrow, and I wanted to get a head start, I wasn't planning on doing anything to day. I also started clearing the small freezer in the kitchen fridge, the freezer is on the bottom, and has a 2 bin type  shelf section, the bottom one needs to get cleaned out, been a while since I was at the bottom of that one --- OOPS, found some pastry that was there for a year.
I am trying the declutter things, I want a new kitchen and trying to decide what/where for storage and how to better plan it out, not succeeding so far LOL I need to have the fridge/freezers in good order so I can move them - of course I haven't even started getting quotes, so it will all need doing again by then I guess.

I have been knitting and watching a little TV this afternoon, the Mr is trialling drinking lots of water, so far so good, he's impressed with himself, of course he hasn't taken into account the pushing, prodding with the ultrasound LOL

I have some apple pies - mini - I found in the freezer, so thawing them out, and we have lamb chops for dinner with veg, he'll be happy we have some kind of dessert, it's not usual here.
I also tidied up my drawer with all my thermals, I wear a thin type under lots of my tops for the colder days, it had become messy. I need a few more of the Aldi lambswool sweaters, I use them as thermals too, love them, I seem to have only 3 left, hopefully they will be on sale again soon, or maybe I  missed them.

I am thinking about my needs for our trip, only going to  be there 5 days, so don't need much, but do need warmer days clothing, I usually take too much for colder days, but it will be cold getting there, and getting home till we are almost there. Decisions, decisions!!

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 1 ~ SAT JUNE 7

Good Morning, someone is in the bathroom, so I'm still in my PJs.  Not sure who it is, but I think there is a man in my guest room!!  I know there is an extra car in my driveway.  Surprise, surprise!!!

I see on the calendar I have a Dr. appt tomorrow, so maybe I'll wait on my shower until then.  Well, I really don't have a thing to say, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES......
1.  TEACHER STRIKES IDLE KIDS.
2.  REAGAN WINS ON BUDGET, BUT MORE LIES AHEAD.

ITS A MARVELOUS DAY.  RAIN WAS ONLY THE 1 DAY AND THAT NOT AS MUCH AS PREDICTED.  A COOL BREEZE IS BLOWING TODAY.

I MADE MY SHELL PASTA WITH MEAT SAUCE LAST NITE SO I HAVE ENOUGH FOR LEFTOVERS TODAY.
I DID MY LAPS AND WORKED ON MY JIGSAW A BIT.
NOTHING SPECIAL PLANNED TODAY.  JUST BEING LAZY I THINK.  I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF A MYSTERY BOOK SO WANT TO GET THAT DONE TODAY.
WELL WISHES FOR THOSE OF YOU NOT FEELING GREAT.  IT SEEMS IT TAKES A WHILE TO HEAL WHEN ONE IS HIT WITH THIS ROTTEN FEELING.

WISHING YOU ALL A WONDERFUL JUNE.  SUMMER IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER.
HUGS FOR ALL, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 1 ~ SAT JUNE 7

We’re hanging out at home, Ralph was having neck spasms, so he took ibuprofen and slept under the electric blanket. We cancelled lunch with F and C.

I put together a cute tablerunner for Baby Boone’s room, and cut backings for some tablerunners.

Before that I paid some bills online. Ordered a rotating mat on sale at Madam Sew, and some charm packs from Shabby Fabrics.

Now my knees are screaming at me to sit down and elevate them, so I have a lunch of pepperoni and cheese, dried pineapple and pretzels.

I finished a really good book called What did you do, by Shari Lapena. She’s a new author for me. In a quiet town in Vermont, where nothing ever happens and people don’t lock their doors, 17 year old Diana is found murdered in a field. The books follows the investigation and the effects on the towns people.

Dang! Getting ready to hit Submit and lost my message.

Holly, congratulations on getting a new Janome S6! I'll have to go check it out. Hope Ralph is feeling better.

Diane and Janet, hope you both are feeling better soon!

I made potato salad today...first time in years. It will be for dinner with a chicken salad sandwich, which I need to make. Watermelon for dessert!

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 1 ~ SAT JUNE 7

Janet, I’ve been wanting one, but they’re pricey. Madam Sew had the 14 inch one half price.

Devonne, after the ibuprofen, heat and rest, Ralph looks and feels a lot better, the spasm resolved.

We ordered out for pizza for dinner, we do it maybe once every 6 weeks. We get a small, and each had 1 1/2 slices. So good!

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 1 ~ SAT JUNE 7

BRRR! It sure is cold for June 1!  My furnace keeps running.   But, it is supposed to warm up next week and get into the 80s, so that will be a big change.

Dean, Aaron and I drove the 2 hours south to put flowers on some family graves.  I did not make it down for Memorial Day, but this worked.  My brother and my step dad were veterans and it is so nice to see the flags placed at their graves.  I took artificial flowers this year.  Put white roses and pink peonies on my mom's and red, white and blue ones on my brother and step dad's.  One of my uncles grave was near by and Aaron insisted we put something on his too since it was bare, so I took one of the white rose bunches and placed it there.  Aaron is such a soft hearted guy.

Holly, congrats on the new Janome!!  I will check it out as I have not looked at any machines for a while.  I got mine 21 years ago and it still runs like a gem.  I do clean it regularly and take it to the shop every few years for a total cleaning.

Dean is having a severe reaction to some poison ivy/poison oak.  We wondered at first if it was perhaps shingles because the bumps are oozing liquid, but he said it only itches, does not hurt.  I told him to call his doctor but he said he would be ok.  I mean, it is all over his body and it has been 10 days and new areas are still coming out.  Men!!

Theresa, good luck on finding a place for mom and it was nice to finally get some assistance.  Some people do their jobs!

Get well wishes for those not feeling well.

Nothing else to say, so off to look at the TV for a while.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 1 ~ SAT JUNE 7

Cheryl, my brother is also allergic to poison ivy, and needs a dose of steroids whenever he has an episode. Dean may need that, but like you said, men.

Also Cheryl, I first saw the Skyline online. If you are on facebook, look for sewing with Jan. She has 3 stores in Ohio, the biggest in Cleveland- I don’t know how far that is from you. It’s called Pins & Needles. Sewitonline.com is the website. It says she carries all brands and models. Hint, ask for the anniversary edition, it has some extras like bobbins.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 1 ~ SAT JUNE 7

My gosh, so sorry about  the poison ivy CHERYL hope he feels better soon, men, can't make them see the Dr if they don't want to. That was a lovely thing to do with the flowers, I love the idea of the flags on the graves too.

SANDRA a nice slow day is perfect, I had one today too, did most of the housework I wanted to yesterday, changed sheets and washed towels today, had my vax and then knitted and pottered rest of the day.
I got the new needles for the socks, tried them out, NOPE I just can't get the hang of the way you have to do it, must be something simple I am not doing, we have lunch with Jo who makes socks in a few weeks, so I'll take them and see if she can help. I think she going to quilt camp as well, maybe there would be better.

BJ hope you found your sleeper in the spare room, I am guessing Jamie or one of the girls, hope you had a good day.

HOLLY a new machine Wow, love it, I have had my Pfaff for about 13 yrs now, can't see me getting another, I do have a smaller one, might upgrade that in a few years. The new ones are gorgeous and do so much, they are pricy though, although considering the $$ I spent on mine with inflation and time I guess not so pricy.

I need to get some sleep, I slept badly last night, I got too hot, then I got too cold, hate those nights, I was up before 6am doing puzzles to keep me occupied.

DEVONNE potato salad is one of the few potatoes I like, I do love it in summer, I make the dressing with 1/2 each sour cream and mayo. Enjoy!!

JANET I have a couple rotating mats too, a small one and a larger square one, the smaller is mostly the one I use, the larger is good for big blocks, but doesn't rotate as well.

Good night  all!

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 1 ~ SAT JUNE 7

Trish, is there a You Tube video that could help you with the socks?

Where did the month of May go? My lawn guy was supposed to come last Saturday, but it's been raining so much. My backyard looks awful. If I didn't have it fenced, I would have to find someone else to cut it.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 1 ~ SAT JUNE 7

Good Morning, Gosh, my house is full of people!! Rhonda just came, she said she spent the night, as she had to have the dog to the vet really early, just got back.  Tracy is here, too!!  Lovely to have the whole family here.  It is totally still outside, but the sun is shining, beautiful day.  I see I have a Dr. appt. later, so plan on taking a shower.  I see my husband beat me to the bathroom!!  Well, I'll just wait until he is done, then take my shower.

Well, I really don't have anything else to say, so will sign off, wishing you all well.  Have a wonderful day, BJ.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 1 ~ SAT JUNE 7

TWO-HEADED HEALINES......
1.  DEALERS WILL HEAR CAR TALK FRIDAY NOON.
2.  SQUAD HELPS DOG BITE VICTIM.

ITS COOL TODAY, IN THE 60S, BUT SUNNY.  MID WEEK WE WILL BE HITTING THE LOW 80S.

BJ....ITS ALWAYS NICE TO SEE YOU POSTING.  HAVE A GOOD DAY WITH FAMILY.

I MADE THE STEAK AND HAD IT WITH MASHED AND GRAVY FOR SUPPER.  LOVED IT.   ENOUGH LEFTOVER FOR LUNCH TODAY.  FOR SUPPER I'M THINKING BLTs.  HAVEN'T MADE THOSE IN A WHILE.

I HAVE A FEW PLANS FOR THE DAY.  LIKE WALKING MY LAPS, LAUNDRY, WORKING ON THE PUZZLE.  NOT MUCH MORE TO GO ON THAT AND CAN BEGIN ANOTHER.  THE NEXT IS A PUZZLE A NEIGHBOR BOUGHT FROM GOODWILL FOR $2.  LOOKS GOOD.

WITH READING AND SOME SOLITAIRE I SHOULD STAY BUSY ENOUGH.  I THOUGHT I MIGHT SEW BUT NOT FEELING THE MOJO TODAY.  I'M NOT ON ANY DEADLINE SO THAT'S JUST FINE.
AS FOR SEWING MACHINES, I BOUGHT MY HUSQVARNA VIKING QUILT DESIGNER II IN 2004 AND LOVE IT.  ITS STILL DOING A GREAT JOB AND THE BEST THING IS IN OVER 20 YEARS ITS NEVER NEEDED OILING.  IT WAS EXPENSIVE BACK THEN SO A NEW ONE WOULD PROBABLY COST AN ARM AND A LEG SO I'M GLAD MINE WAS MADE TO LAST THE REST OF MY LIFETIME.

STAY WELL.  HUGS FOR YOU ALL.  QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 1 ~ SAT JUNE 7

I won't be buying another machine either. If I need something besides my Kenmore Elite, my Brother emb. machine is also a sewing machine.

I let my lawn guy "have it." I know we've had a lot of rain, but I checked my bank account and the last time I paid him was May 2nd! That was a month ago.  He was supposed to be here last Saturday but never came (said it started raining by the time he got off work). He said today "I will get it done" and I replied back "when?" I told him if he wasn't here by Thursday, to let me know. He is coming today. We will see if he improves because I've given him all the chances he is getting with me.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 1 ~ SAT JUNE 7

Yes, Cheryl...MEN! on many levels. Our men, Howard and Bill are both allergic to poison ivy, but, IF it starts spreading, they both head to the doc for the steroid Holly mentioned.

My other frustration today is:  We must do something about our living room flooring.  We agreed that once Fancy was gone, it would be new carpeting.  She's been gone since September and here we still are and the carpet has not gotten cleaner or better looking.  On a whim, I checked to see if our adjacent laminate, installed in 2012 is still available.  It is!  So that may be our choice.  The living area is fairly small and the continuity would really look the best.  So, in my world, that would be it.  Of course, after Howard searched In the basement for the left over lam., he suggests, we just do the two bedrooms down here, too.  And, of course, I feel that's an expense that's unneccesary  at our age.  So far, we've not discussed it and I WILL think it over partly because he's always disliked our bedroom replacement carpeting and the other bedroom is the same since we moved here almost 19 yrs. ago.  But, it has had very little traffic on it in all those years.  But it was builder grade so not "valuable".  I always have something to stew about and, unfortunately for you all, share!

And now I must go and carry on with the other changes we've made and then cut his hair and........
Indy

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 1 ~ SAT JUNE 7

I got an email from the Janome dealer, the Skyline 6 is back ordered til the end of June, and he’d understand if I want to cancel. I called and reassured him that I can wait a month, my 6500 will do fine til then. He seemed relieved, he said the company rep he talked to thinks that internet sellers are sitting on a bunch of the S6 anniversary edition for some reason. I guess to wait til the company stops making them, then up the charge?

I saw my NP for follow-up. She ordered a neuro consult and PT. We stopped and got Arby’s for lunch and brought it home, we hadn’t had Arby’s in years. He got the crispy chicken sandwich, and I got hot ham and Swiss. We were happy with both.

Judy, I understand both Howard’s idea and your hesitation.

It’s not raining! It’s nice out, low 70’s. To be upper 80’s by the end of the week!
