The rain has really cooled the temps down. I could turn on the heat, but I wil resist. More rain today then hopefully it's out of here!
I saw my first hummingbird this morning; a little fat one with a beautiful green head. Greg got me two new feeders for Mothers Day and I hope I did the sugar water right.

Gosh, its so interesting to read what everyone's posting, lots going on!! My eyes aren't working very well today, so I'll be very brief. Things keep fading in and out on the screen, so I'd better quit. Have a wonderful day, everyone, BJ.

Afternoon y'all!
Wet and rainy here!
Been on the phone with phone number after phone number for the VA for Aid and Attendance for mom! I did accomplish something though so not a waste of time! I know what to fill in where! The last woman I talked to was awesome, she is emailing me the stuff I need and local contacts, for help! It's awesome!
Now to get this all filled out, the doctors part will be the hardest! They are never fast!
Also waiting on the same doctor to classify her heal scab, so I can move her to somewhere else!
I need to go see mom still, have not been today!
Later my Friends!

It’s turning out to be a nice day here, mid 70’s and no rain yet! Heather and Ed are taking the camper to upstate PA for a motorcycle thing, and Steph and Dan flew to So Cal yesterday. She had a meeting and had to pick up a car from someone who retired, and they are driving it back to OR, with a side trip to see the red woods.
I finished the first cloth baby book from a panel for Baby Boone, and cut the pieces for the second. Book #1 is Hello Winter, and #2 is spring.
I read somewhere that in a double bed, each person has less room than a crib mattress! Yikes! We’re happy with the queen.
Dinner will be leftovers from our Mission Barbecue visit yesterday, pulled chicken and beans for me, turkey for him.

SANDRA that's a good win, $9 a big one for a change, yippee!!! It's a great idea to have the ironing board set up like that, so many can use it, mac & cheese sounds good to me, we had chinese take away tonight, I got it when I went out earlier and out in the fridge YUM!
HOLLY where is So Cal? I have been trying to think but can't figure it out, it's COLD here, the A/C is blasting warm air and I have my winter clothes on, it's been a quick change form summer to winter here, I think we got a few days autumn LOL
DEVONNE maybe Carter will travel when he is older, the boys can't wait to get out there and see the world, Dean has a list, John is happier to wait till he's finished Uni.
THERESA it's so hard to get all this done, this has been going on for a few years now, do you ever hear from your NSDB, shame he isn't helping, but I am guessing more hindrance than help.
BJ you always check in, let us know how you are doing and what the weather is like, that's great!!!
INDY I did a ML today cleaned out a couple shelves in the pantry, they were out of control, I would never let Megan near them, she would have it all out and rearranged LOL She does her own all the time, drives Gary nuts!
JANET that is a big shop, I do one like that occasionally - I just hate putting it all away, the Mr wouldn't know what to buy - except junk LOL I don't have storage for too much, I do stock up when I can on some things though.
I finished the blocks for the baby quilt, 1/2 rows put together, I would never use a pattern like this again, it just doesn't "fit" well together, it was a Fons & Porter pattern. looks cute though.
I have also been trying to knit, got my socks finished, I also tried to do the Magic Loop knitting for socks, my needles were too long, the pattern uses circular needles, but short tips, mine were longer, one more try, I ordered some short tips and I'll give it a last try when they come, I really want to try to do them as a round, no seam LOL the ones I have done fit well, and are comfy, didn't think they would be as comfy, they are only thin, but nice to slip on at night.
I had an eye test today, my eyes are not being nice, it feels like I have very slightly dirty glasses, and I can often see a little better without them, I really don't need them, but my face feels happier with them on, seems the script needs changing, just a tiny bit, but I am happy, plus she advised me to get the really cheap glasses as my funding doesn't kick in again till July and I don't want to wait that long - I was just =19.5pxgoing to get the lens changed, they are comfortable, and I'll have them in less than 2 weeks, so before we go away. Cheaper to buy new =19.5pxglasses than get the lenses swapped out.
I got the current ones too early after the cataract surgery, but we were going away and I needed to be able to read.
I am having a covid booster on Monday, the Mr was at the Drs getting results of his bones and the nurse noticed him, checked her records and whisked him in to have the injection while he waited for dr, and told him to get me to come in, so I am on Monday afternoon, I really didn't want to get another one, but Dr feels like we should, so I trust him.
The Mr is having an ultrasound next week, Dr saw a small spot on his kidney, he feels it's just a cyst, but wants it checked, it will be fun, he doesn't drink much water and has to drink 1 litre of water an hour before, so they can test, remember those days of baby pushing on full bladders LOL wish I could be a fly on the wall LOL
My brother has gone on his cruise I saw a pic of him sitting on the balcony, cheese/crackers and wine also, Would think he shouldn't be drinking - I guess he's old enough to make his own decisions though, I just want to yell at him!

Trish- I think Holly was referring to Southern California referred to as So Cal?
DH tends to be an over shopper, during Covid he was almost a hoarder. I still have lots of paper goods from that. lol.
We were done with Covid vaccines after the 1st booster…DH may have gotten 2 boosters?
Theresa- hope the mom saga is under control now.
Devonne- we have had hummers at our feeder since early April.
Lost our power yesterday about 4 pm…and the generator failed. At 5 I called the generator service guy and he game out about 6:30…( emergency cal) about 15 mins after the power came back on. 🙄. Oh well.
Finally sunny so far….10 days straight of rain.

Devonne- the rule for hummingbird food is 1:4 sugar:water…
For example I boil 1 cup of water and the immediately stir in 1/4 cup of white granulated sugar.. Never add food coloring, syrup, etc.
Let it cool and fill the feeder. After 3 days dump it, clean the feeder and repeat.
I make it fresh every 3 days.
I’ve been doing this for as many years as I can remember.

Holly, are they going to Sequoia National Forest or one of the state parks? Sequoia National Forest was the last place I went in CA. That was in 2018.
Janet, thanks for the sugar water info. I got it right! I was late getting my feeders out. I hope they will come visit now. I love watching them. I don't use regular sugar, but I keep it for the hummers. I hope that much yogurt can get used before it expires.
The rain is gone (hopefully) until it returns again Friday. I plan on fertilizing my backyard before then.
I dreamed I was involved in a car accident. There were two other vehicles, both had damage. I backed my vehicle up and left the scene of the accident. I had to get home to let the dogs out. It was so real I had to get up because I was trying to decide if I should go back.

YOGI BERRA SAYS.......
1. IF THE PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO COME OUT TO THE PARK, NOBODY'S GONNA STOP 'EM.
2. THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE WHO, IF THEY DON'T ALREADY KNOW, YOU CAN'T TELL 'EM.
ITS OUR RAINY DAY TODAY. SHOULD BE OVER AND DONE BY TONITE.
DEVONNE......SOMETIMES DREAMS ARE SO DARN REAL, THEY ARE SCARY.
NO REAL PLANS FOR TODAY. NOTHING MUCH PLANNED BUT SORTING MY PILLS FOR THE WEEK AND SOME COOKING. I THINK SHELL PASTA IN MEAT SAUCE FOR SUPPER TONITE. I LOVE THE SHELLS CATCHING ALL THAT GROUND BEEF INSIDE THEM.
I MADE THE MASHED TATERS LAST NITE AND THEY WERE VERY GOOD. I HAVE ENOUGH FOR TODAY'S LUNCH WITH A SANDWICH.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Trish, Janet had it right, they were in Southern California. Today they drove thru the redwoods and are going to Tree of Mystery, then home. Devonne, she didn’t say if it was a national or state park.
Another rainy one for us, off and on. It’s town yard sale day, so lots of traffic to my neighbor’s. It was also town shred day, so Ralph took a tote full, and got us a turkey and cheese hoagie from the Legion.
I finished fabric book #2 for Baby Boone, and did some moving around of things.
And, I ordered the S6 anniversary edition! I had watched some really good videos of it, and when I contacted the closest dealer, they just finished a sale but gave me the sale price! $300 less than online! They have to order it, should be in midweek. I’m keeping my MC6500. My sewing machine table has spots for 2 machines, I had bought it years ago from an estate of a lady who had it custom made. So I’m excited. LOL, Ralph already downloaded the manual.
