Good Morning, I'm not feeling too bright this morning, so will be very brief. My head is aching, wonderful!!! I certainly hope everyone is feeling good and getting lots done. I'm going to sign off now, will try to do better tomorrow!! BJ

It rained off and on all night so no need to go water my new sod.
I couldn't figure out why I have been having so much back pain every single day. I need Tylenol to get my chores done. I read back pain is a big side effect of Tamoxifen. If it affects your daily life, it's not worth it. My SIL couldn't take it either.
Trish, I guess you know about the numerous train stations in Tokyo. Greg is still planning to take Carter there next February for his 8th grade graduation present. He has been watching YT videos and had a consult with someone from there. There's no way I would go there and would hate living in the fast lane like the millions that go thru these stations every day. How do the elderly do it? It's way too much hustle and bustle for me. I like the little town I live in and the quiet life.
Diane, the deck sounds very nice! Have you thought about adding a roof and screening part of it?
Theresa, my heart broke when I read your last post. What a trying time for you. At your Mom's age, maybe it's better to do a nursing home instead of assisted living.

Thanks for the anniversary wishes. 53 years, where did it go? Ralph got his 40 inch tv for the family room, he’s happy with it.
Manda is my knitter, I’ve tried but like crochet better. I did the topstitching/quilting on 3 of the cookie swap tablerunners. 2 more to go. We went to our favorite drive up burger place for lunch. We each got a second burger to bring home for dinner.

Happy Anniversary HOLLY & RALPH, that 53 years sometimes feels like 5 yrs other times 105 LOL
I hope you both enjoyed your anniversary dinner, that was fast work on the table runners!
DEVONNE yes, I did know I haven't been but lots of friends have, they loved it. Very easy to use, same as the tube in England really easy to use, most of the public transport we have seen or used in Europe is very good, fast and pretty reliable. There are a few pitfalls - in Italy you have to have your ticket registered/scanned whatever they call it, if you don't EVEN THOUGH you have paid for it, it's not valid and you get fined, no excuses for tourists, the Rome system is very good, but a bit harder for oldies LOL When we travelled from Amsterdam to the UK we went by train via Belgium, stopped a couple days there and then continued on with the train, it was also very good, only problem you have to put your luggage in the end of the compartment, and there are no slots, just all in, so you can have yours at the bottom, you need to be pretty quick getting on and off too, no problem getting off at the end station LOL.
My friend Julie is going on the Bernini Express soon, they are currently in Tuscany after having a few days in Rome. They'll next do a cruise from London to around the "top end", and eventually they end up in Switzerland for the Express, it would be a wonderful trip, can't wait to see the pics from that. I actually like train travel, especially on those sightseeing ones!
SANDRA so did you win?? I have to look up cribbage - forgot to do that, BUT I did finish the blocks for the baby, and laid them out, so I hope to get them sewn together by Friday, then layer and quilt.
Chloe had another turn, they will want to get the baby out early now, that's 2 in 2 weeks, she has a neurologist emergency appt on Tuesday next - $700 cost YIKES - hope it's worthwhile. She doesn't look like she's pregnant at all, I am wondering if that has something to do with all the issues, they are saying the baby is all good, no problems, but I think they want her to have a caesarian, she is resisting. Maybe some hard truths coming her way, better safe than sorry. This will be the last pregnancy, they wanted 3 children, but Chloe has realised that she can't go through this again. Baby due date is August, I think he'll be out before that, maybe mid/end of July at the latest.
My brother got some bad news today, they were expecting surgery next week to remove 1/2 his liver, but more spots have appeared plus another on the 'good' side, so more chemo. Seems like the last chemo sessions didn't really have any affect. He is going on a 3 day cruise on Friday, then straight from the port on Monday to the Drs for more chemo. My sis is finally realising that this is not hopeful, she was always so sure he would be OK, now she's not so sure, the tumor is still huge as well.
And that is my news - at least it's cold nights, just like I like it, I do love having a quilt on.

Trish- hearing about others with chemo…I can’t imagine he can go on a cruise?

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES......
1. LOCAL MAN HAS LONGEST HORNS IN TEXAS.
2. CAUSE OF AIDS FOUND------SCIENTISTS.
ANOTHER BRIGHT AND SUNNY DAY. TIME TO GET THE CROPS IN THE GROUND. OUR GARDENERS HAVE THEIR PLANS FOR THIS WEEK AND IT INVOLVES PLANTING, PLANTING, PLANTING. WISH I WERE STILL ONE OF THEM.
TRISH.... JOKE 1.....IN TEXAS THEY RAISE LONGHORN CATTLE.
AS FOR THE CRIBBAGE DAY, I PLAYED ONE GAME AND WAS THE LOSER. THEN I ONLY COACHED A NEWBIE THRU 2 GAMES. SHE CAME IN 1ST AND 2ND SO SHE DID WELL. IT DEPENDS SO MUCH ON THE CARDS YOU ARE DEALT.
SO SORRY FOR THE NEWS ABOUT YOUR BROTHER. HE'S BEEN TRYING SO HARD. MIRACLES DO HAPPEN SO LETS ALL SAY A PRAYER AND SEND POSITIVE THOUGHTS THAT HE CAN STILL LICK THIS THING. HUGS FOR HIM AND YOU.
I HAVE EGGS ON THE BOIL TO ADD TO MY POTATO SALAD I PLAN TO MAKE SOON.
I WILL BE CALLING BINGO TONITE. SPOKE WITH THE CALLER YESTERDAY AND MENTIONED BINGO AND SHE REALIZED SHE HAD A P.T. APPPOINTMENT SO WOULDN'T BE PLAYING. I VOLUNTEERED TO CALL FOR HER SINCE OUR OTHER CALLER HAS BEEN HAVING SOME ISSUES WHICH MAKE HER CALL SLOWLY. SHE IS TOUGH AND KEEPS TRYING THOUGH. STILL, THE OTHERS GET ANTSY WAITING FOR THE NEXT BALL NUMBER. I TRY TO KEEP A SMILE ON MY FACE AND UNDERSTAND THE ISSUES SO SHE DOESN'T REALLY BOTHER ME. STILL, I CAN MANAGE TO CALL NOW AND THEN WHEN I FEEL ALRIGHT.
PLANS TODAY ARE DOING MY LAPS, MAKING POTATO SALAD, JIGSAWING A BIT, AND BINGO LATER. I THINK A VACUUMING IS DUE TODAY AND I NEED TO TAKE OUT MY TRASH TO THE DUMPSTER. LITTLE THINGS HERE AND THERE.
A NEIGHBOR NOT DOING WELL WITH A BAD COLD SO I WILL GET HER MAIL FOR HER BUT LEAVE IT AT HER DOOR. I DON'T NEED A SUMMER COLD.
A BIT OF HAND WASHING TO DO. NOTHING TOO TOUGH TO HANDLE TODAY. I REALLY NEED TO GIVE MY HAIR A TRIM BUT KEEP PUTTING IT OFF.
I HAVE LEFTOVER BURGERS FOR SUPPER TONITE AND FOR LUNCH A NICE GREEN AND RED SALAD.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

I also need a trim. Maybe next week? I haven’t had much energy this week
. This rain for days and days is depressing. The pool has gone over again flooding the area around it. The flowers are pounded down. Sad
Offline
Janet, I am tired of the rain too, even though it's been good for my new sod. We have rain in the forecast the next 3 days. My backyard is saturated.
Holly, happy anniversary. We were 5 weeks away from #53. I have a 55" tv in my bedroom and a 65" in the living room. Gary wanted to give me a 75" and I said no thanks. I wish this one in the living room was 55".
Greg's boss wants him to go to Switzerland in June, but he knows Greg's situation with Carter. Luckily, Greg doesn't have Carter that week & has already booked his trip. $2,400 was the cost of his ticket. This will be his first overseas flight instead of Toyko next year. He changes flights in Paris.
Janet, I watch a guy named Don on You Tube. He does a lot of cruises and is a travel agent. He just had surgery on his right lung to remove cancer spots and he looks really bad. Now, they found spots on his left lung and that surgery is June 3rd. He has a cruise to Alaska in July and he says he is not missing that cruise for any reason. He said he's obligated to too many people for this cruise. Even told his doctors that.
I'm going to Walmart to get a few things, but mostly to walk around. Will stop at Dollar Tree first to see if they sell envelopes.

Trish, so sorry about the sad news for your brother. I hope he enjoys his cruise. How wonderful that you can use public transportation so much. I am like Devonne and live in a semi rural area. We do have a bus route a couple miles away. Here, it is easier to drive and much faster. One of our friends in working as a consultant in New York City. He said they walk or take public transportation everywhere and did not even take their car this time. He has been hired as a consultant a few times with different colleges in New York City. New experience for him. lol
Devonne, my friend's daughter was in Japan when her husband was stationed there in the service. She loved living there and loved riding the fast trains.
It is cold and raining AGAIN. My furnace has been running for two days. I had to wear a sweater in the house! Cold for the end of May for sure. Monday was cool but pretty and we had a nice fire outside.
Nothing else to say, so will sign off for now. Take care all.
PS: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, Holly and Ralph!!

Thanks for the anniversary wishes! We still haven’t run out of things to talk about, so that’s good. I enjoy his company more than anyone else’s.
I finished the last two cookie swap table runners. Not perfect, but done! And I cut out a cloth baby book panel for Baby Boone.
Dinner will be a take home spaghetti with meat sauce from Olive Gaden.
Steph and Dan love the high speed trains in Europe.

Good Morning to everyone!! I do so enjoy reading what everyone is doing. Lovely to hear what each of you is up to!! It has been raining here, very dreary outside, but not raining now, thank goodness. Just a very slight breeze.
I have no plans for the day, believe Rhonda will be over later. Hope so!! Well, I'm not very newsy this morning so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

More rain and cold.DH decided to go grocery shopping with me yesterday….? So $349 later? He never shops, can’t remember the last time.
He bought 3 loves each of Ezekiah raisin bread and salt freeze bread at $10 a loaf.
3 large containers of Greek Chobani plan yogurt, bundles of TT and toweling…and so on…he says it’s more efficient and I won’t have to shop ever few days. 😵💫 there were other things but that was a sampling.

Janet, that was a big grocery haul! I spent $160 yesterday and today. I couldn't get my prescription because the line was too long, so they are bringing it today with more groceries, lol. After shopping there and doing a delivery, I still forgot my cheese! Do you put fruit in the plain yogurt?
Today I had my first Orzo pasta in a tv dinner. It was ok, but I prefer mac & cheese, lol.
I do like going on cruises, but in reality, I am not a traveler. I have no desire to go overseas nor to New York. I am more like Gary. I don't think Carter will do much traveling either when he gets older.
Sandra is having computer problems and will post when she can.

It’s barely past noon and I feel like it should be evening already! I had an appointment for dental checkup and cleaning (dentist gave me an A+), then went to Walmart to stock up on several things (but not as much as Janet’s DH!!!), and filled up gas tank before heading home.
After having some lunch and relaxing a little, I’m going to do a little cooking. A 90 year old friend from church has been under the weather for months, doctors can’t seem to find the cause. She is having some tests done next week that require an overnight stay in the hospital. Her husband can barely walk so they need help. Another friend and I are taking them some food tomorrow, some to eat tomorrow and some to have in the freezer to eat whenever they want. I have some meat loaf frozen and will make and freeze a hash brown casserole. Carolyn is fixing a chicken casserole and a fruit salad. We are both taking easy to fix vegetables. All together it should be enough for four meals.

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES.....
1. ORGAN FESTIVAL ENDS IN A SMASHING CLIMAX.
2. BRITISH LEFT WAFFLES ON FAULKLAND ISLANDS.
THANK YOU DEVONNE FOR POSTING MY DILEMMA REGARDING MY DITSY COMPUTER. SOMETIMES ITS JUST FINE AND OTHER TIMES ITS MOVING THRU MOLASSES UPHILL SLOWWWWWLY ALL THE WAY. ITS FINALLY UP AND RUNNING AGAIN. I KNOW I NEED A NEW ONE BUT I HATE THE IDEA OR HAVING TO LEARN ALL THE THINGS DIFFERENT ON A NEW ONE. MY BRAIN DOES NOT TAKE TO NEW THINGS VERY WELL ANYMORE.
MARYLOU.....GOOD FOR YOU GIRL. I BELIEVE IN SHARING WHEN THERE IS A NEED. THEY WILL APPRECIATE THE EXTRA FOOD.
JANET.......MY GROCERY BILL WAS $153 THIS PAST WEEKEND. MY SON SHOPS EVERY 2 WEEKS. SOME WEEKS ARE HIGHER THAN OTHERS DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH MEAT I BUY. WHEN I AM RESTOCKING ITEMS IT GETS CLOSER TO $200. RIGHT NOW MY FREEZER HAS LOTS OF MEATS I NEED TO USE UP SO I ONLY BOUGHT GROUND BEEF AND SANDWICH MEAT. I ALSO STOCK UP FOR THE FUTURE. I HAVE PAPER PRODUCTS ENOUGH NOW FOR ALMOST A YEAR AND BOXED GOODS FOR MONTHS I THINK. CANNED GOODS THE SAME.
I BOUGHT 60 FOREVER STAMPS BEFORE THE RAISE IN COST IN JULY. THEY ARE GOING FROM 73 CENTS TO 75 CENTS I THINK.
IT SURE LOOKS LIKE RAIN IS IN OUR FUTURE. SKIES ARE GETTING CLOUDIER. LESS BLUE AND BLUE BY THE MINUTE. I GUESS THEY ARE CORRECT THIS TIME, RAIN FOR OUR WEEKEND.
I WON $9 AT BINGO LAST NITE AND CALLED IT, TOO. I HAVE BEEN LUCKY THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS. FEELS GOOD TO COME HOME A WINNER.
TODAY WAS CRAFT MORNING. I TOOK A COTTON DISH CLOTH TO KNIT THIS TIME. MY VICTORIAN LADIES HAVE ENOUGH LACE. THO ITS A DISHCLOTH, I THINK I WILL USE IT AS A FACE CLOTH. THE YARN IS SOFT AND IT WILL LAST LONGER THAN A DISH CLOTH. THOSE GET USED SO OFTEN THEY GET GRUNGY EVENTUALLY AND NEED TO BE TOSSED. A FACE CLOTH WILL LAST MUCH LONGER AFTER ALL THE WORK ONE PUTS INTO THEM.
AS WE LADIES TALKED WE AGREED THAT OUR APTS ARE SO SMALL THAT A NORMAL IRONING BOARD CAN'T BE USED EASILY. MANY DON'T EVEN HAVE ONE ANYMORE. I USE A TABLE IRONING BOARD MYSELF BUT I HAVE A WIDE IRONING BOARD THAT I NEVER USE. I BROUGHT IT TO THE COMMON ROOM AND SET IT UP. POSTED A NOTE ON THE BULLETIN BOARD THAT ITS THERE FOR ANYONE TO USE, JUST BRING YOUR OWN IRON. POSTED A NOTICE, TOO, IN FRONT OF THE BOARD, TO UNPLUG AND TAKE THEIR IRON WHEN DONE. I HOPE ITS ALLOWED TO STAY BY MGMT.
I ALSO POSTED A NOTE ON OUR MAILBOX BULLETIN BOARD TO ASK WHO TOOK OUR MEMORIAL DAY DECORATIONS OFF THE TABLES. THEY DISAPPEARED. THE LADY THAT BOUGHT THEM AND PUT THEM THERE IS STUNNED. I ASKED THAT THE DECOR BE RETURNED. IS THERE A THIEIF AMONG OUR RESIDENTS OR WAS IT AN HONEST MISTAKE AND THEY JUST STORED THEM AWAY SOMEWHERE????? I HOPE TO FIND OUT.
I WILL BE TAKING SOME BORDER AND BINDING FABRICS TO THE COMMON ROOM TO CUT ON A CUTTING MAT ON A TABLE THERE. THEN I CAN PRESS THEM IMMEDIATELY ON THE IRONING BOARD. MAKES IT SO HANDY.
I ALSO WENT OUTDOORS AND CUT LOTS OF LILACS AND SHARED THEM WITH 3 OTHER LADIES. WE ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE LAST OF THE BLOSSOMS. LILACS DON'T LAST VERY LONG EACH SEASON.
THAT'S IT LADIES. GOT TO GET BUSY CUTTING. HAVE A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Janet, at least you can freeze the bread! Hopefully he will eat the yogurt before it expires.
Mary Lou, that’s so kind of you and your friend to help out the elderly couple with food.
Sandra, congrats on the win! Maybe maintenance took down the decorations?
our monthly cleaning lady Lisa was here today, so the house is sparkling clean! After she left, we went to Mission Barbecue for a late lunch, and brought half the food home. Right next to it a Nothing but Bundt Cakes opened, so we went in there. If you bought 4 of the little ones (size of a big cupcake) you got a cute insulated lunch bag free. If you take the bag on further visits, you buy 3 get one free, so that was a good deal. I froze 2 of the ones we got today.
I had bought Baby Boone panels to make 2 fabric books, so I worked on one while Lisa was here. They are very cute. One is a winter theme, the other is a summer theme.

It's almost time to start supper. Making an Amish recipe for hamburger/ noodle casserole with green beans in it. I've been lax here because it's a busy time right now.
I had a sort of emergency dental appt. yesterday. Had one of the four cusps on a back molar break off but still attached to the gum (??). The dentist put in a small bit of anesthesia and "flicked" it off. (his word) I will need a crown soon, but not a root canal, so he can do it in his office.
ML came over this morning and cleaned up my whole kitchen. She's finally feeling much better and sleeping again, and this is her wish to help me out, periodically. Bless her is all I can say beside thanking her profusely.
I have been busily sorting, cleaning and culling in the spare room in preparation for a furniture move around early next week. We will be downsizing to a twin bed from a double and I'll have more room for my office space. It's been hard work for me but rewarding as I'm looking forward to this change. We have no company staying over any more and no couple wants to sleep in a double, if we did.
Tomorrow is our small group and I'm taking a 9 x 13 cake with pineapple and a yummy topping of Cool Whip, cream cheese, vanilla pudding and milk. Will get the cake part baked tonight.
That's it for me. I wanted to check in as I might be out-of-pocket for the next few days. I did get caught up reading so am up-to-date with all of you.

Afternoon y'all!
Still overwhelmed here. At a loss as to what to do for mom. I really didn't like the personal care homes, not enough staff and my mom needs lots of care! Nursing homes here have a bad reputation, especially among the doctors, they call them funeral homes! Care is abysmal, and that's on a good day! Trying hard to work through the VA paperwork, at least she is already in the system! Still have to fill out stuff like she had never received care before!
Like many of you in the South east and east coast, lots of rain. Need a couple days to dry out! We will have 19 of 31 days with rain this month!
I'm paper-worked out for the day! Almost cross eyed!
Need to go and fix supper! Later my Friends!

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES......
1. CITY PACT FIGHT BOILS.
2. EYE DROPS OFF SHELF.
THE RAIN HASN'T YET ARRIVED STILL A BIT SUNNY TODAY I'M ENJOYING IT.
JUDY......WE STILL HAD A DOUBLE BED TO THE END. MY HUBBY LOVED TO SNUGGLE SO WE NEVER GOT A BIGGER ONE. SORRY, I LIE. OUR WATERBED WITH THE TUBES THAT WE HAD FOR A FEW YEARS WAS A HUGE BED. IT WAS COMFY BUT HARD TO SNUGGLE.
I WAS BUSY AFTER CRAFTS. I BROUGHT MY CUTTING TO THE COMMON ROOM. CUT SOME BORDER FABRICS AND SOME BINDING STRIPS. ALSO GOT THE BORDERS ON MY PINK IRIS GARDEN AND GOT THAT PINNED. I HOPE TO QUILT IT TODAY. DID SOME PRESSING AS WELL SO THAT IRONING BOARD IS SURE IN A HANDY PLACE. STILL DECIDING HOW TO DO MY VICTORIAN LADIES. I FOUND ONE THAT STILL HAD LACE PINNED SO WILL SAVE THE SEWING OF THE LACE FOR NEXT WEEK'S CRAFT MORNING.
I FOUND THE RED, WHITE AND BLUE DECOR THAT WENT MISSING. ANOTHER LADY TOLD ME SHE SAW THEM HIDDEN ATOP THE FRIDGE WAY IN THE BACK BUT SHE KNOWS NOT WHO PUT THEM THERE. ANYWAY, THEY ARE BACK ON THE TABLES BECAUSE THEY ARE SUITABLE FOR THE FOURTH OF JULY WHICH THE BUYER WANTED.
DECIDING WHAT TO COOK TODAY. I HAVE STEAK AND SOME GROUND BEEF DEFROSTING RIGHT NOW. FOR BREAKFAST I AM HAVING PEACHES AND TOMATO JUICE. I STILL HAVE A BIT OF POTATO SALAD LEFT SO THAT WITH A SANDWICH FOR LUNCH I THINK. I MAY MAKE A POT OF MASHED POTATOES TODAY. ITS NICE TO HAVE SOME ON HAND FOR EXTRA MEALS. I CAN ALSO SHARE WITH THE LADY WITH THE CROOKED NECK WHO HAS A DIFFICULT TIME COOKING MUCH.
THAT'S IT FROM ME. I WILL DO THINGS AS THEY NEED DOING WHEN I FEEL LIKE IT. I WILL GET SOME READING DONE AND SOME JIGSAWING. OF COURSE MY LAPS ARE SCHEDULED RIGHT AFTER BREAKFAST. HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A DECENT DAY. HUGS, QB S
P.S. JUST CHECKED MY BANK AND MY SOC SEC CK IS ALREADY IN THE BANK TODAY. THANK YOU GOVT.
