Happy Mother's Day! everyone
Holly, I just read an article about it being illegal to pump your own gas in New Jersey. Is this true?
We only have self serve stations here.

Patty, true, it’s illegal to pump your own gas in Jersey.
Happy Hallmark Holiday to all! A nice idea that’s gotten way =26pxtoo commercialized. We talked to Manda, and Heather and Ed last night, an hour each time! I’m sure we’ll hear from Steph today.
I think I have my tension set almost right on the HQ! It was fine til I had her serviced, and he messed up my settings. I did one pass across, and my knees said stop.
Our big Mother’s Day plan is to go to lunch at Weber’s, then go pick up the Bath and Bodywork soap that I ordered online. After it being so cold yesterday, it should be almost 80 today!

FROM "LAUGHTER, THE BEST MEDICINE".......
THE NEW PRIEST, NERVOUS ABOUT HEARING CONFFESSIONS, ASKS AN OLDER PRIEST TO SIT IN ON HIS SESSIONS. AFTERWARD, THE OLD PRIEST HAS A FEW SUGGESTIONS.
"CROSS YOUR ARMS OVER YOUR CHEST AND RUB YOUR CHIN WITH ONE HAND." HE SAYS. THE NEW PRIEST TRIES IT. "NOW SAY THINGS LIKE 'I SEE, YES,' 'I UNDERSTAND' AND 'HOW DID YOU FEEL ABOUT THAT?'"
THE NEW PRIEST REPEATS THE PHRASES. THE OLD PRIEST SMILES AND SAYS, "NOW, DON'T YOU THINK THAT'S A LITTLE BETTER THAN SLAPPING YOUR KNEE AND SAYING 'NO WAY! WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?"
HOORAY FOR SUNSHINE ON MOTHER'S DAY. LOVE IT. IN THE 60S TODAY.
MY SON SHOPPED FOR ME YESTERDAY. HE ALSO BROUGHT ALONG LUNCH, A LOBSTER ROLL PLATTER. MMMM IT WAS SOOOO GOOD. HAVEN'T HAD THAT IN AWHILE AND ITS THE ONLY WAY I WILL EAT LOBSTER. NICE CHUNKY ROLL.
THEN LATER WE HAD A NICE DESSERT TIME IN THE COMMON ROOM. A NEIGHBOR BROUGHT A BIG CHOCOLATE MOTHER'S DAY CAKE, SOME CUPCAKES, COOKIES, AND ANDES CHOC MINTS ALONG WITH BOTTLED WATER. THERE WERE 8 OF US THAT SHOWED UP FOR THE TREAT. IT WAS VERY NICE OF HER.
I STARTED A NEW JIGSAW PUZZLE LATER. IT WAS A PLEASANT WAY TO SPEND THE DAY.
TODAY ITS JUST A DAY OF REST AS USUAL. I WILL BAKE SOME CHICKEN AND POTATOES WITH CARROTS FOR SUPPER TONITE. IN THE MEANTIME I HAVE A BIT OF LEFTOVER LUNCH FROM YESTERDAY TO FINISH. THE SUN IS SHINING. ITS A LOVELY DAY HERE. I AM PLEASED.
GOT MOTHER'S DAY WISHES FROM FAMILY AND FRIENDS THIS MORNING. YES, A PLEASANT DAY.
WISHING YOU ALL A FINE DAY. HUGS, QB S

I got a text from Heather that she was on her way up! She brought us a pizza and strawberry shortcake for lunch, and gave me a gorgeous ilk flower arrangement, and floral couch pillows for the porch couch, and chocolate. We had a lovely visit.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Patty- like Holly said…you can’t pump your own gas in Jersey…haven’t been able to for many years! Around here you can’t find a person to pump your gas….everything is self serve.
There was a time in NJ where some towns have “Blue Sunday” laws. Stores would not be allowed to open and if they did they’d pay a hefty fine if they tried to open.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, bonus mothers, dog mothers, mothers in law!
The weather was lovely today. We actually celebrated yesterday with both sons and Anthony's inlaws. We went to an Amish restaurant and had the buffet. It is raved about in this area. Dean and I were not too impressed. Food was average; chicken, roast beef, ham. The lots of salad bar with typical fixings and then hot food area with stuffing, bland noodles, green beans, etc. They told us they ran out of butter for the rolls and it was only 2:30 p.m. So, food was Ok, bill was OK, service was OK. It was only $18.99 for the all you can eat buffet. Dean and I were both careful not to over indulge as most do at those things. Today, Aaron and Bosco dog came over to visit as his kids went to spend the afternoon with their mom after church. We just hung out with the dog outside and chatted. Then Dean and Aaron went to play some disc golf. I sat in the shade and enjoyed the birds singing.
Holly, I never heard that about pumping gas in Jersey! It is almost all self serve here too.
Trish, your fabric baskets and hexies were cute.
Prayers for BJ. My BIL, Bill, had similar seizures. The hospital ran all sorts of tests and never figured out what caused them. He seemed terrified of people when he was in one of those and then he remembered that he was "out of it" as he put it.
Off to sew some borders on my new little child sized quilt. The hospital is once again taking hand made quilts but only want 30 x 36 or close to that in size to fit over the isolettes. Mine will be 32x36.

TRACY posted on last weeks thread about BJ, sorry to hear you are not doing so well BJ ((((hugs))))
SANDRA oh my gosh. my mouth was watering when you said about the lobster rolls YUM!!!! Better than KFC LOL and I'm sure you enjoyed the visit too
CHERYL we had a few meals with the Amish, one at one of those restaurants, the others in their homes, they were OK, interesting to try the white gravy with biscuits, we weren't fans LOL but it was good to try it, at one place we had peaches, SOOOO GOOD. Those little quilts make up fast, and they looks so good over the babies.
DEVONNE hope you had a nice visit with the family, how is Hannah getting around, easily or is is hard for her?
INDY I am so happy that ML is doing so well, an you can get back to visiting as you did before.
HOLLY good to hear you got the tension right, it takes a wile sometimes, nice to have a visit with Heather.
We rarely come across a garage that isn't self serve, occasionally in a small country town, otherwise it's all self serve. I don't mind, at least I can choose the type of fuel and how much I want.
I have had my flu injection, and my prolix one, I am due for a bone density scan, so that's booked in for Wed morning, I thought it was only last year I had it done, time goes fast, the nurse always checks what things I need, I see the Dr on Wednesday, I had booked her to do the injections. In and out ointment 1/2 hour and I was early, I was out before my appointment time LOL
We had an easy dinner, I did lots of washing today, where does it all come from?? At least I know where when I am doing towels and sheets, but all the clothes, that man must change 3 times a day sometimes.
I am almost finished the little boxes, nice to have them done well before camp, it's not till August.
I just did an appliqué for the Alice quilt, English Paper pricing is definitely not my favourite, I think I'll keep working on them till I finish them all. At least I found all my silk thread, so it sinks in nicely, and doesn't show much.
My arm isn't very sore, so I am hoping it stays that way, usually I get a sore arm for a few days, maybe I'll be lucky this time LOL

Cheryl, only two states have full service only gas stations, Jersey and Oregon. We teased Steph when she moved from Jersey to OR, that she didn’t want to pump her gas.
It’s going to be 80 today and sunny! And Baby Boone is 3 months old today, wow!

Good Morning to everyone!! I'm not feeling too bright this morning. Will have to get moving on my own. My head is a little achy today, so will move very slowly.
Well, I must get moving and get back to the kitchen and get some breakfast. Have a wonderful day, BJ.

FROM "ALL IN A DAY'S WORK."........
BECAUSE I CATCH A PREDAWN BUS TO GET TO MY JOB, I WAS CONCERNED THAT I WASN'T VISIBLE TO BUS DRIVERS IN THE DARKNESS. SO I ATTACHED A REFLECTOR TO MY LUNCHBOX AND PUT ON A JOGGER'S VEST THAT WAS BRIGHT ORANGE AND HAD SMALL FLASHING LIGHTS.
THE FIRST MORNING I WORE MY NEW GEAR, THE BUS ZOOMED PAST BUT THEN STOPPED. I RAN TO CATCH UP WITH IT AND, AS I BOARDED, ASKED THE DRIVER, "DIDN'T YOU SEE ME?"
"I SAW YOU," HE REPLIED, "BUT I THOUGHT YOU WERE A ROAD SIGN."
ANOTHER LOVELY SUNNY DAY TO HIT THE LOW 70S. LOVE IT.
I DID MY LAPS AND WORKED MY JIGSAW PUZZLE. THINKING ABOUT TONITE'S SUPPER AND DEPENDING ON HOW I FEEL ABOUT COOKING, IT'LL BE SKILLET LASAGNA OR PEANUT BUTTER SANDWICHES.
LOVELY DAY HERE. SUN IS BRIGHT. I THINK I WILL TAKE MY BOOK OUT ON THE PATIO AND GET SOME SUNSHINE AND HOPEFULLY CATCH SOME WITTY CONVERSATION WITH SOME OTHERS. I SAW SOME TULIPS POPPING UP IN THE GARDEN.
HAVE A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Am making this short. Computer is acting up and has cancelled everything twice, already. So...I'll wait until later.
Had a nice time with the kids yesterday. ML was like her old self. Andrew grilled hambugers, but we ate inside due to the endless wind!
We left shortly before they had to take Andrew to the train. Came home and napped in our recliners.
They are on their way home from ML's appt. at Northwestern in Chicago. She'll call me with details after they get home. But, her text sounded promising...
Have a good day.

Afternoon y'all!
Had a good Mother's day. Went to visit mom and stopped by Tim Horton's to get her coffee, I had bought her 2 lemon filled doughnuts from Krispy Kreme on Saturday. The look on her face when I showed her that the coffee came from Tim Horton's was priceless. It's easy to get in and out of this location, it is on one of the multitude of ways I can go to see her. Sara went with me and we both got coffee, I got mocha nut, had to try it, it's a winner, and Sara decided to get her standard Vanilla Latte, she said it was good. All well worth the effort. I think my mom would have chopped off our hands if we had tried to take either the coffee or doughnuts away from her.
Trish mom cannot pay for 2 facilities, that would be well over 12K a month, for both. So I am still hoping we can go back to her apartment, on hospice. Just waiting to hear. Hard to just wait.
Today, I walked the park, after the rain finished. Went to Sam's, Simba is almost out of dog food, it's cheaper there and he eats much more than Bandit ever did. Then Publix to pick up prescriptions. Home, will not go to mom's since it is so late. I would be in the midst of school traffic getting there and 5 o'clock traffic getting home. Staying put.
Luke is still working! Always good news. He is no longer probationary, so should be good through the first round of RIF's. They are back in court due to the manner/route they are doing with the RIF's so everything is so up in the air. Very frustrating! Luke does sound upbeat!
Alex still needs to get a social life! Other than that he is status quo!
Sara's big worry is that some part, any part, of the machine she uses in the lab will break and because grants were rescinded, they may not be able to repair it! Other than that possibility she is on track!
My MIL is doing great after her elbow replacement, she is itching to get on with therapy, not for 2 weeks! Other than that she is doing great!
Need to go get general stuff done, I have 3 hours back in my day since I am not driving to Cumming and back!
Later my Friends!

Judy, good to read ML is back to her normal self.
Trish, those are the cutest coasters! I don't know how Hannah is. I texted her I was sorry she fell & she said she didn't fall, just twisted her foot. Gary said she fell, broke her foot & is on crutches. I'm picking him up tomorrow and we are going shopping and lunch. Maybe I'll see her.
Today has been a do nothing day for me. I did bake some Ritz mayo chicken and pork chops. The chicken was so tender and awesome! Pork chops are for dinner tomorrow.
