I'm tired today. Did the laundry this morning before I left, made the bed and loaded the dishwasher. Glad I did so I could come home and rest.
Happy anniversary, Trish and Warwick!
Glad Jamie is back home! I'll head over to FB shortly.
Cheryl, glad you got out of jury duty...hope they don't call you in. I could get a letter from my doctor if I needed it.
My roses are going crazy! This is the best they have ever bloomed so I'm going to share more pictures. I haven't fertilized them at all. My yard needs some help. I know it needs weed killer and fertilizer, but I'm thinking it needs new grass seed.
These are called sky pencil holly. They stay small and only get 6 ft. tall. I need to trim a few dead limbs. The yellow bushes at the far end need trimming.
Today I planted marigolds and salvia out front in a pot. I want to plant two of the coral rose bushes out front because they don't need much care. I also planted 3 tomato plants and one strawberry plant. I've never had any luck with strawberry plants.
Time to go cook! Having cube steak with brown gravy and cooked kale for the side dish.
BJ, I hope you are ok!

Holly, what day did Jamie have surgery? Doesn’t seem like it was very long ago for him to be home already. When I had open heart surgery, I was in the hospital a full week.
My Easter was great! David invited to their house for the weekend. We went to church Easter morning. It was a very good service but I can always worship better in my own church where everything is more familiar to me. Melanie fixed a delicious beef roast dinner, one of my favorite meals. Jessica and her family joined us and stayed several hours. Unfortunately, Zach and Abigail already had plans with her family so I didn’t get to visit with them.

Mary Lou, I think last Friday.

Mary Lou, I checked back to last week threads. Yep, it was the 18th that Jamie had his surgery. He did really well, going by Tracy’s posts.
My cleaner, Lisa, is here doing her thing, and we’re staying out of her way. Ralph is outside, and I was in the sewing room for a while. We have lunch with friends at 12:30.

Happy Anniversary Trish and Warwick.
It will be 53 for us too in November. Little did I know 53 years ago that when I said I do it was going to mean I do most everything. 🤪
Well, my vacuum is calling….

Good Morning to everyone!! I'm still a little shaky this morning from my fall, but getting along. I have a ton of bruises and am pretty sore. But I'll survive.
I'm going to sign off now and go sit in my chair, think it will take a lot of that before I'm feeling back to normal. Have a wonderful day, everyone, BJ.

I’m not in Oklahoma but 🎶🎶🎶 “Oh, what a beautiful mornin. ‘ Oh, what a beautiful day!”🎶🎶🎶
It will soon be time to turn on the AC so I need to ask my brother to come open the vents (they are in the ceiling and I don’t climb ladders.) So a trip to Walmart was necessary to get a new filter. Funny thing … my car pulled in at the bakery on the way! This bakery makes the best cream horns I have ever eaten. I only had three items on my mental Walmart list but picked up so many other things that my bill was over $100.

That's me every time, Mary Lou. (At Walmart) Then I get home and have nothing to eat, or so it seems. Wish I could think of one repeatable meal for grocery shopping days that is tried and true and already ready? Sometimes, though, it's just a rotisserie chicken. But you still need something else... Sounds like a lovely weekend for all of you at David's.
Howard is off to lunch with the ROMEO's. They eat at the same place every time and all get the 1/2 sandwich-cup of soup option, of which there are several choices. Of course, Dave called and wanted to go today, TOO! But, I'm not complaining. Am enjoying the solitude.
ML is no better. She texted she only slept 1 hr. last night and that was with Shaklee sleep stuff. She's tried several RXs for sleep and Benedryl. She called an acquaintance who sells Shaklee to try their preparation. It worked pretty well the first night but not last night. We're all at our wit's end. She has an appt. with the counselor she's been seeing today and a first appt. tomorrow with a psychiatrist, something she never wanted. She's so desperate.
We have a robin busily building a nest in our Rhododendron bush. It's a lovely sight, but a week or so ago, two cat's strolled by on our lawn and as I watched them, one checked out that bush. So, I know what the likely outcome will be. It's happened before. I have no idea where the cats come from. Wouldn't matter anyway. Shena put a bell on their cat...
Devonne, glad your treatments are almost over. What a beautiful yard to come home to to unwind. Do any of your neighbors come by to visit with you?
QB, hope it's a brighter day in Maine, today. I have the slider open and my small heater on next to me in the sunroom. No one here to notice that and complain. Tee hee!
Off to do something as there's plenty to do... Have a good afternoon.

ITS 60S TODAY AND SUNNY. LOVING IT.
THANK YOU DEVONNE, FOR THE BEAUTIFUL PICTURES OF YOUR BLOOMING FLOWERS. IS YOUR YELLOW BUSH FORSYTHIA? OURS IS ALWAYS AMONG THE FIRST TO BLOOM HERE WITH ITS YELLOW LEAVES LEADING THE WAY.
MARYLOU.....WHEN I SHOPPED MYSELF I WOULD DO THE SAME THING. IT SEEMS MY GROCERY BILL OR WHATEVER WAS HIGHER THAN I EXPECTED DUE TO SEEING THINGS I WANTED AND TOSSING THEM IN MY CART. CAN'T HAPPEN THESE DAYS WITH MY SON SHOPPING. HE GOES DIRECTLY FROM MY LIST EXCEPT WHEN HE SURPRISES ME AND BRINGS HOME SOME TAKEOUT I WASN'T EXPECTING.
I STARTED THE NEW JIGSAW PUZZLE TODAY AND SPENT MORE TIME ON IT THAN EXPECTED. ITS TIME NOW FOR MY LUNCH.
ITS BINGO NITE LADIES, AND I AM CALLING. OUR REGULAR CALLER IS ON A JAUNT WITH HER SISTER FROM OUT OF TOWN AND OUR OTHER ONE HAS A HAND PROBLEM. IT LOOKS LIKE I AM VOTED IN FOR THE NITE. WISH ME LUCK WITH THE POTS OF MONEY.
CAROL......WHERE THE HECK ARE YOU GIRL?
TRISH......I THINK OF YOU EVERY TIME I WATCH A MIDSOMER MURDER OR A BRITISH COMEDY, LIKE KEEPING UP APPEARANCES WHICH IS SHOWING HERE ON SATURDAYS NOW.
THERESA......I HOPE THINGS HAVE TONED DOWN FOR MOM AND YOUR EFFORTS TO KEEP THINGS RUNNING SMOOTHLY.
HOLLY......ITS ALWAYS NICE TO SEE YOU POSTING.
LINDA.......I HOPE THE EYE TREATMENT IMPROVES YOUR DAY TODAY. I KNOW THE FIRST DAY IS TOUGH. HUGS FOR YOU GIRL.
I STILL HAVE TO FINISH ANOTHER WH THIS WEEK. I ALREADY MADE OUT AND DATED THE LABEL FOR IT SO IT NEEDS DOING. I HAVE TO TRIM IT UP, ADD BORDERS AND THE REST OF IT. AS LONG AS I HAVE IT DONE BY THE LAST DAY OF THE MONTH, I WILL FEEL LIKE A WINNER. I THINK I WILL STILL USE THE LABEL EVEN IT ITS NOT DONE TIL NEXT MONTH. NO SENSE WASTING IT.
STAY SAFE MY FRIENDS. HUGS FOR YOU ALL. QB S

My treatments are over and it is indeed a beautiful day! I treated myself to a late IHOP breakfast and went to Lowes. I got 3 of the knockout coral roses to plant in the front yard to celebrate. They were $26 each! I might ask Gary to help me dig some holes.
I saw Jamie's huge surgery scar...yikes!
I'm really tired today, but I did get a meatloaf in the oven. I'll do some mashed potatoes and that's all. I like the old fashioned traditional meatloaf, but I did put some BBQ sauce on 1/2 of the top just to try it.
I have gained so much weight since I had my surgery in December. I haven't been getting much exercise. I've been doing intermittent fasting for the last two weeks and I've lost 4 lbs. I don't eat anything after 7 pm and nothing until 11 am. Need to cut back on my portions as well. I have cut out the pasta, limit my bread and no sweets. Think I will treat myself occasionally so I don't get burned out. I've also been walking more.
This is my Tanner Cancer Center team with me ringing the bell. They were all fantastic!

GOOD MORNING!
BJ, THINKING OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. SORRY FOR YOUR FALL. HEAL QUICKLY.
DEVONNE, YOUR YARD IS SPECTACULAR. I SUGGEST WEE AND FEED, MAJOR BRAND ADVERTIZED. ABOUT 4 TREATMENTS A YEAR. AIREATE (SPELLUNG) WITH THE NACHUNE THAT SEEDS AT THE SAME TIME. ALSO CAN PUT SOME LIME DOWN. OUR LAWN GUY HAS BEEN DOING THE WEED AND FEED FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN OUR YARD. MAY HAVE FEWER WEEDS IF NEIGHBORS TREATED THERE YARDS. YEARS AGI, AFTER REMIVING OUR BIG TREE UN FRINT YARD ALL FGE SHADE GRASS DIED. FOR A WHILE THERE WERE MORE DANDELIONS THAN BLADES OF GRASS. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR LAWN.
SHOULD HAVE CONGRATULATED YOU ON FINISHING YOUR TREATMENTS.
MY SIS IS HAVING CATARACT SURGERY THIS MORNING. MAY BE OVER BY NOW.
THINKING OF EVERYINE. PRAYERS..........

Good Morning to all.. It is just a beautiful day here, very sunny and still. Sharon is coming today, wasn't able to come on her regular day. Today is just fine, no plans for me!! I still have huge bruises on my arm and leg. Hopefully don't fall again!! The one on my arm is the worst as it is where I lay my arm down usually, so have to come up with a different plan.
It is 48* outside right now, so hopefully it will get even warmer as the day goes on. Well, since I really don't have anything else to say, guess it's time for me to sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

Good morning. Been up since 7:30 but am just getting around. Have been sitting on the front porch swing and it's just gorgeous outside. A beautiful robin has finished her perfectly symmetrical nest in the rhododendron bush. She'll be laying her eggs soon, I suppose. The nest is actually lower than the top porch rail so we have a "bird's eye" view of it. I would so like to protect it from roaming cats but someone would have to sit out there all the time. Nature can be brutal sometimes.
Howard is sprucing up and repairing the gas grill. It sits out all the time so ours only lasts about 3 years but we just replace it with another cheapie and carry on. He says this one will only last this season. I need to get out in the back and check my chives. They should be up and ready. Shena gave me a clump of them years ago.
Devonne, looks like you were a hit with your team. I'm sure of that with your lovely personality. You've had to make some tough decisions and I'm so glad your treatment is over.
Since I don't get out by myself much any more, I treat "myself" at home one way or another when Howard's out lunching. Like some extra food or just total peace and quiet or a nice long phone chat with a friend. He doesn't nose around my computer, cell phone or house phone and I don't talk about him when he can hear, but I'm always aware of him and where he is. If I write something on here for your eyes and ears only, I delete in next time around for both his and my sakes.
ML is at her first psychiatrist appt., now. I surely hope this different kind of doctor can help her in some way. Andrew is coming home on the South Shore electric train tonight and she's worried about him seeing her and being around her with all she's going through. I texted her a little pep talk and reminded her that he'll be preoccupied with his CPA board test tomorrow and will be taking it on Sat. for 5 or 6 hours, so he won't be right there all the time. I don't know if we'll get to see him. She usually makes that happen but maybe not this time. If so, I'll be a big girl about it and not complicate everything.
QB, did you win any money last night? I'm not sure if you can play when you're calling, too.
Nice of you to pick up the reins when it's the only way. I know it's a bit hard on you to do it, now.
So, I'm off to get busy. Fixing pork cutlets for supper. Am going to look for a recipe for a marinade as they can be rather tasteless. Have a good day.

Another beautiful day here, sunny and upper 70’s. Ralph had his Thursday breakfast with the Veterans. Judy, I hear you about time alone. Not that I do anything different, just putter around.
Not sure what dinner tonight will be, I’m defrosting chicken for tomorrow.
Devonne, what a relief to be done! Do the roses like sandy soil?
Brother John just sent me a video, his donkey had her baby last night, so cute.

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES......
1. KISSINGER ALLEGEDLY FORGES MIDEAST PACT.
2. GENETIC ENGINEERING SPLITS SCIENTISTS.
A LOVELY DAY HERE TODAY, SUNNY AND IN THE 60S. MY KIND OF WEATHER.
SORRY I'M SO LATE LADIES. I WOKE LATE AND HAD TO HURRY TO CRAFT MORNING. THERE I RE-LEARNED HOW TO PLAY CRIBBAGE. ITS BEEN OVER 30 YEARS SINCE I LAST PLAYED IT. IT ALL SLOWLY CAME BACK TO ME. IT WILL BE ANOTHER THING TO ENJOY IN THE COMMON ROOM WITH MY NEIGHBORS.
I WON 3.50 LAST NITE AND ENJOYED CALLING IT. I GUESS THE NEW MEDS WORK BECAUSE I WAS NOT REALLY TIRED BY THE END OF THE GAMES. I STILL HAD SOME ENERGY.
JUDY.........I SURELY HOPE THE APPT FOR ML GOES WELL AND SHE GETS SOME GOOD FROM IT. SHE'S HAVING SUCH A TOUGH TIME. MY PRAYERS AND POSITIVE THOUGHTS ARE WINGING THEIR WAY TO HER.
LINDA......I HOPE THAT WEED AND FEED IS AN ORGANIC SUBSTANCE SO THE BEES AND BUTTERFLIES AND OTHER GOOD INSECTS ARE NOT HAMPERED BY IT.
DEVONNE.....I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE PAST THE BAD STUFF NOW. YOU HAVE BEEN SO BRAVE ABOUT THE WHOLE THING. I APPLAUD YOU. IT MUST BE A GOOD FEELING TO KNOW YOU ARE ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY.
I ORDERED 8 JIGSAW PUZZLES FROM BITS AND PIECES DURING THEIR SALE. 4 ARE SEASONAL GNOMES, WHICH I ADORE AND 4 ARE SUMMER GARDENS. THEY SHOULD KEEP ME BUSY FOR THE SUMMER. I AM ENJOYING THEM.
FOR THIS WEEKEND I HAVE TATER TOT SAUSAGE CASSEROLE PLANNED FOR MY SON AND A BIT POT OF VEGGIE BEEF SOUP FOR A FEW OF US HERE AND MY SON. I HAVE GOTTEN A BIT TIRED OF THAT CASSY SINCE I EAT SO MANY LEFTOVERS SO THIS TIME ITS A SMALL 9 BY 9 CASSY FOR JUST HIM AND MAYBE ONE SERVING FOR MYSELF. I DON'T WANT TO SEE ANY LEFTOVERS.
MY NEIGHBOR NAN BROUGHT ME A LARGE PIECE OF CHOCOLATE CAKE YESTERDAY. I'M NOT ONE FOR CAKES EXCEPT SOME SPECIAL ONES, BUT THIS ONE WAS SO DARN GOOD. I LOVED IT. I HAD SOME LAST NITE AND THEN THIS AFTERNOON I FINISHED IT. SHE DOES NOT COOK THEM HERSELF SO ITS STORE-BOUGHT.
THAT'S IT FRIENDS. HUGS FOR YOU ALL. QB S

Devonne, hooray for being finished with your treatment. With all you have been through, weight gain is the last thing you should worry about. Aaron also gained weight (especially in the belly area) and he is now going to work out 4 days a week with his dad. Dean goes EVERY day to the gym and runs a little now too. He used to run marathons before his double knee replacements, so he really misses it, but is afraid to get that horrible knee pain back. So, he sneaks in a little jogging some days. He is 70 years old and never stops. He walked 2.5 miles with me this morning, put lawn chemicals on the neighbor lady's lawn (5000 steps on his counter) too the dog out for a 20 walk/jog and now will go to meet Aaron after supper. I walked today.
I had my 3 month A1c check up yesterday with my PA and my A1c is up a little. I was not surprised as I did not follow my diet during the holdiday. It was still pre-diabetic and not type 2 diabetes. It was 6.0, which as up from my 5.3 last time. So I will start writing down my food once again starting tomorrow. I had banana cream pie from Easter to finish today.
Judy, sending prayers for ML to find some relief.
Holly, I think donkeys are adorable! I'll bet that baby is a cutie.
Cooked some chicken tenders in a skillet and made salads and called it supper tonight. I cooked the tenders in a little Italian dressing and they are very good.

Today I had my eye exam, which I always do in January, but I was recovering from surgery. I'm good for another year. Sadie Grace's birthday party was at 6:00 at a mexican restaurant, so I'm pretty tired.
Linda, thank you for your suggestions. I read to do the lime treatment in the fall. I'll check out the Weed and Feed.
Judy, I hope ML got some help today with this visit.
Thank you all for your love and support. I go back next Wednesday to see the chemo oncologist. He's the one that put me on hormone therapy pills for five years. So far, I'm tolerating it rather well. I was not a candidate for chemo. They do this expensive test to see if you will benefit from chemo. I did not.
It is lightning and we are under a severe thunderstorm warning. I'm glad I left the party when I did. Gracie was in a panic when I got home, lol.
Sandra, my yellow bushes are not forsythia, but ligustrum.
Holly, my soil isn't sandy. You would have to add nutrients if you planted them in sandy soil because it doesn't hold water very well..like maybe compost, peat moss and topsoil.
Cheryl, I hope I am still borderline diabetic. I made an appointment with my family doctor for May 5th to get my A1C checked. It was 5.9 the last time and I was supposed to bring that number down.
