Happy Easter! 🕊
Offline
Namaste and Happy Easter to those who celebrate. I have a ham in the crockpot and will make pineapple stuffing and a veggie.
The HQ was giving me fits before I even sewed. The roller with the backing wasn’t locking. Watched some videos, thought about it. Unwound it to the leader, put the lock on, and rolled it up the right way! Works much better when you do it right, funny thing!
I had a whole stack of 10 inch squares that had come folded up, so I started pressing them, til my knees had enough. Now it’s time to sit for awhile.
I’ve been reading the great prices people are getting on fabric at the closing Joann’s. I keep telling myself NO!
Devonne, those travel games can get ridiculous and expensive. My great niece is in some ridiculously priced hockey (or maybe it’s soccer) league. They play in Rhode Island next week. Travel, hotel, food, and it’s not even an accredited league.
I have all the windows open, it’s so nice out! Daisy, the feral cat mama, is very deaf and goes around meowing at the top of her lungs calling for Roberta aka Bob, her companion, who is also deaf.

Good Morning to everyone!! It is pouring down buckets of rain right now. It is 50* outside. Frank is up and in the bathroom, so I took him some coffee. I see I have a Dr. appt in Bellingham, which is a good half hour's drive from here. Not sure how I'm supposed to get there, but time will tell.
Just wanted to say Hi! to everyone, have a wonderful day, Love, BJ.

ITS SUNDAY. SUNNY HERE BUT ONLY IN 50S TODAY. QUITE A CHANGE FROM YESTERDAY'S 70S.
BJ.....ARE YOU SURE YOU HAVE A DR APPT TODAY? ITS EASTER SUNDAY. MY DR'S ARE ALL HOME WITH THEIR FAMILIES.
HOLLY....SORRY FOR THE TROUBLE WITH YOUR HQ MACHINE. I HOPE THINGS UNRAVEL FOR YOU SOON SO YOU CAN SEW, SEW, SEW.
MY WINDOWS ARE OPEN AS WELL, EVEN IN THE 50S. MY APT GETS SO DARN WARM.
LEST I FORGET OR I'M LATE, TOMORROW YOU MUST WISH OUR TRISH AND WARWICK A HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. ITS ON THE 22ND BUT OUR CALENDAR DIFFERS.
MY CASSY LAST NITE NEEDS SOME TWEAKING. I FIND THE POTATO CROWNS CAN FALL APART SO NO SUBSTANCE WITH THOSE SINCE THEY ARE SMALLER. I THINK TATER TOTS OR HASH BROWN PATTIES WOULD WORK BETTER. ALSO THEY NEEDED A BIT MORE CHICKEN FLAVOR. MAYBE SOME CHICKEN BROTH INSTEAD OF MILK ADDED TO THE CREAM SOUPS. I WILL TRY THEM AGAIN BUT WITH THOSE CHANGES.
TODAY IS EASTER AND I DO NOT COOK HAM. I DON'T MAKE A TURKEY ANYMORE EITHER. TODAY I WILL HAVE A FAVORITE OF MINE, A PEPPER STEAK SUB WITH ONIONS. I WILL BE VERY CONTENT WITH THAT FOR AN EASTER MEAL. I HAVE SOME EASTER PEEPS TO MUNCH ON AS WELL.
FOR TRISH.....PEEPS ARE YELLOW OR OTHER COLORED SUGARED MARSHMALLOW CHICKS OR RABBITS. ONLY A BITE OR 3 AND THEY ARE GONE. BUT SOOOO TASTY.
THE ONLY THING GROWING IN OUR FLOWER GARDEN ARE THE JONQUILS JUST COMING ALONG. NOTHING ELSE IS POPPING THERE BUT THE GARLIC IN GROWING IN TONY'S VEGGIE BED. HE'S TAKEN ON 2 OF THE BEDS THIS YEAR, HIS AND MY OLD ONE. THE GARLIC IS IN MY FORMER BED. ITS NICE TO SEE NEW GROWTH THERE.
I HAVE TO TAKE DOWN MY JIGSAW PUZZLE AND PUT UP ANOTHER. I WANT SOMETHING SPRINGLIKE THIS TIME.
HAVE A GREAT DAY FRIENDS. HUGS, QB S

Jamie has been moved from ICU to PCU, which is great. And he walked 1700 feet today.
Dinner was so good. Spiral ham from Aldi, pineapple stuffing, and Brussels sprouts. We both had 2 servings. And cherry turnovers for later. Dishwasher is humming away.

Happy Easter everyone. Greg and Carter came and we went to Olive Garden. No boiled eggs nor candy here!
Everything is profusely blooming in the backyard...except the crepe myrtles and they don't bloom until June/July. The knockout roses are beautiful! When I get back home from my treatment tomorrow, I'll plant the veggies I bought.
I wasn't sure what kind of rose bush this was that produced coral and pink roses. At Lowes, I saw one just like it. It is a knockout Coral Rose.
A few more pictures tomorrow.

Oh, my gosh, the flowers are so beautiful!!! It is very gray outside, obviously has been raining. I see on my calendar, I have to go to Bellingham for a Dr. appt later today, 1:45. Not sure why. It is so dull out, not a breath of air is moving. Gosh, I am so bruised up everywhere. My right leg is very painful and my right arm is a mess. Must have fallen down in the night, vaguely remember being on the floor, but my mind is not very good, so hard to say!! Difficult, when your mind isn't as good as it used to be!!
I'm going to sign off now, wishing you all well, BJ.

Yikes, BJ!
We went and got haircuts, the across the street to Aldi, and on the way home paid the water bill.
Cooler today, 60’s, and feels like rain.
I liked the pope, he said animals go to Heaven and supported the LGBTAs. I hope his replacement is as good.

Happy Anniversary, Trish and Warwick. An April bride--nice time of year, Fall for you, Spring, here. What number is this? I'm guessing maybe 49? Hope you have a wonderful, memorable day.
BJ, am so sorry to here about another possible fall. You do use a cane or walker for bathroom visits, I hope. Glad to hear Jamie is doing well after his surgery. Take good care of you...
We got an Amazon delivery, today. New shoes and a book for me. New sweats and two U.S. flags and replacement grills for our grill for him. Our 2 old flags were tattered and faded so he burned them, per proper protocol. We seldom order things that come at the same time.
Yesterday, we had ham, fresh broccoli and I had 3 really ripe bananas so I made banana bread. Strange Easter for us. In 46 1/2 years, we've never been home alone with no family. But it didn't matter. We were content.
The extent of our blooming plants are the dandelions in our yard and our one mini rhododendron bush. The dandies brought a smile to my face. Not caring a whit about perfect lawns, I love seeing them. Tried their young greens in a salad one time--awful, bitter, unedible! Got that idea from the Amish Cook column in the newspaper...
So, I'm off. Hope you are all having a nice day.
Indy

Trish, Happy Anniversary to Warwick and you!
Devonne, again, your flowers are lovely. I would love to sit and relax in your pretty back yard. I have a large backyard, but it so mostly wild, wooded and treed. I do put several large pots in the back near my deck and put pretty colorful annual flowers in them. I also have several varieties of hostas there in the shady areas, but the deer do like them. We also have a ground hog living under a tool shed that likes to eat plants. We leave him/her alone, and don't mind him/her eating here. The neighbor said he likes to trap and remove them, but Dean will not do that unless it comes near the house to love.
Judy, we have a few dandelions in our yard. I like to pretty yellow flowers, but it drives Dean crazy since he likes a neat lawn. I really don't care about a pristine lawn. Besides, around here, the dandelions are one of the few things that the emerging bees have to eat.
We had a great Easter dinner and then Anthony and his family surprised us and came over for a couple hours before retuning to Columbus. They were up here at Emmily's parents' home, of course. We did not even know they were coming. I was glad I put together the small baskets for the teens. The weather was beautiful and we spent most of the day outdoors. Today is cooler and rainy.
I took Gabriel to get his new retainer for his teeth. He lost it in the ocean when he was with his mom; one would think she would offer to pay, at least a portion, but not to be. However, she did have the money to fly to Texas, once again, to "visit a friend".
I made some ham salad for sandwiches and then cubed the remainder of the ham and put it in the freezer for later. I also froze the hambone to make beans in the future.
Well, miracles to happen; I do not have to go to Federal Jury Duty next week. I did send an email stating that I had a difficult time sitting for long periods of time and that the last trail I was on, the alternate juror had to finish the last day of the trail since I ended up in the hospital with severe sciatic pain. I guess that was enough to defer it. I was hoping for a total exemption, but my letter did not say that. I will take what I can get.
Nothing else to say today. Wishing you all a good day.

THANK YOU for the anniversary wishes.
SANDRA thank you, you are so good at reminding us of birthdays and anniversaries, it is indeed today, (your tomorrow LOL ) as it's the 22nd here. It's great to hear your garden bed is being used, and your garlic is still growing. I hope you get plenty of joy looking at your spot, and there are flowers aplenty.
INDY it is a little more than that, feels like MANY more than that some days, its 53 years today. How did I get that old let alone be married that long LOL
DEVONNE your garden brightened my day, it looks so pretty, my camellias are flowering, the susanqua ones, the japonica will be a bit later.
BJ so glad to hear Jamie is doing so well so quickly, your bruising might be from the fall you had a couple days ago, some take a while to come out ((((hugs))))
HOLLY thanks for the info, our neighbour had his knees done a couple months ago, he's back doing everything and more LOL he doesn't stop, he and the Mr walk a few miles to the local mall when they can, seems to be only 3 days a week now, with them having commitments. I hope your knees feel easier.
CHERYL ouch on the retainer, guess they are not cheap, amazing she found the money to travel for her own pleasure LOL funny how that happens.
My brain is not working properly. Got sick on the weekend, the Mr had it last week, guess he generously shared, got very little sleep last couple nights, and my chest hurts, I think from sneezing I've strained something, my lungs feel clear, just hurts when I cough (or sneeze) Johnn also got it Sunday, so I am guessing the Mr was the culprit.
I did cook again on Sunday, and took John's to him, we had a roast lamb for dinner, with all the trimming. I ate very little by then I was really feeling it.
Luckily we had so much leftovers from all the other meal we (meaning me) don't have to worry about dinner again, there is still plenty.
I did spend some time sewing yesterday - well more ripping than sewage edited - should be SEWING 😁, you really shouldn't sew when you are full of cold/flu meds, I may even get some more done today, the Mr did the floors yesterday, but the dusting and bathrooms need to be done properly, and I want to get the cobwebs down, those little blighters are fast getting the webs up again, I seem to be doing them all the tome, I need to get the house sprayed, but waiting till there is no rain if the forecast.
I want to get to my sis's tomorrow, will wait to see how I feel, it's another public holiday on Friday, (Anzac Day) so there is only tomorrow or wait till next week.
P.S. I forgot - we had the internet drop out unexpectedly on Saturday as I was posting, lasted a long time, I had just finished, and the post wouldn't submit, realised it was still there and I was able to copy and paste to a notebook document, then get on my phone and transfer it here, it looks weird, it copied, but all in one paragraph, sorry. Lesson learned, ALWAYS copy your post if it's along one!!

Good Morning, it is only 44* outside, glad I'm in!! I am so horribly bruised from my fall the other night. My right arm and leg are just a mess. Guess I should be grateful that's all, could certainly be worse.
The sun is so bright and the flowers are lovely, good time of year for that, I guess.
Well, I really don't have a thing to say this morning, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

Good morning. QB wish I could send you some of our morning sunshine. Suppose to get to 71 degrees today. I went out of the porch to enjoy my rhododendron yesterday and turned right around and came back in--too chilly. Will try again today.
Trish, I was totally guessing about your years married. Couldn't remember you having a big wing ding, so I thought it must be under 50 yrs. I can remember when anybody around here reached 50 years, they had a get-together and recreated the cake-cutting ceremony and that's what was served.
And the standard gift was some sort of shiny gold dish or vase or the like with "50" written on it. There was little partying in rural Indiana, so it was a big deal!
Devonne, I want to toss in my thanks, too, for the beautiful pictures you shared. Your yard really looks like a well-established garden instead of just the very few years you've lived there. You obviously have a green thumb and know what you want to plant.
Better go and get busy. Howard has disappeared from his usual spot in the living area in front of the TV. I can hear him upstairs but will leave him alone so he stays there. He's going to lunch with the ROMEOs tomorrow. Dave called and wanted to go the same day. Must be nice to be so popular! How ironic--the person who is anti-social and doesn't care! So...I'll get some alone time if nothing changes.
Have a good day.
Indy

Jamie is home! Double yay! Tracy put up a pic of his incision, yikes! He’ll win a scar contest for sure!
Tension! I think it’s the top tension, I have to try threading it again. This was supposed to be fun!
A gorgeous day, almost 80 out!
