I was pleasantly surprised to see a few roses blooming and my azaleas look so pretty. I wish I had not planted the crepe myrtle in the center because it blooms much later than the azaleas.
Linda, thank you for the Easter card. You are a good card sender. When my oldest sister turned 60, all her sisters decided to send her a birthday card every day for a week, so every day I mailed her a birthday card, starting a week before her birthday.
Today is the last day of the Masters. I understand golf because Greg is an avid golfer, but I also enjoy how beautiful it is.

MISPELLED WORDS........
1. DICKENS SPENT HIS YOUTH IN PRISON BECAUSE HIS FATHER'S CELERY WAS CUT OFF.
2. POE WAS KICKED OUT OF WEST POINT FOR GAMBOLING.
ANOTHER THOROUGHLY GRAY AND MISERABLE DAY. I DON'T DO WELL ON THESE DAYS. LUCKY FOR ME ITS A LAZY DAY SUNDAY.
IT STARTED OUT AS A LAZY DAY BUT THEN I WENT HUNTING FOR SOME CAT PATTERNS FOR WHS. THAT TURNED INTO A PROJECT. I RE-ORGAINIZED SEVERAL PLASTIC QUILT SUPPLY CONTAINERS. THEY REALLY NEEDED IT IN ORDER TO FIND THINGS MORE EASILY.
MY ONLY PROJECT SCHEDULED FOR THE DAY IS BAGGING MY MEATS INTO MEAL-SIZE AMOUNTS IN FREEZER BAGS.
MY SON SHOPPED YESTERDAY AND ATE SOME CKN NOODLE CASSY AND HAMBURGER SOUP FOR LUNCH. HE TOOK HOME 2 LARGE CONTAINERS OF THE SOUP FOR LATER. HE'S A GOOD FELLOW. I THINK I'LL KEEP HIM.
DEVONNE......LOVE THE PHOTOS. KEEP THEM COMING. I ADORE FLOWERS OF ALL KINDS. THUMBS UP FOR YOU WITH YOUR DAILY SESSIONS GOING SO WELL.
YES, LADIES, ITS MY DAY OF REST SO I AM GOING TO DO THAT NOW.
STAY SAFE. HUGS FOR ALL. QB S

Devonne, your flowers look so nice and springy! My dogwood is budding.
Decided to load the backing. Went over a pole I should have gone under, luckily the pole can be pulled out and placed. Then I went over the front bar that the quilt front goes on instead of under. Moved that bar and repositioned. Good thing I have my associate her to help me! By then I’d been standing 30 minutes, which is all the knees will tolerate.
We had lunch with F and C at Applebee’s, I brought home half my salad and half my burger. I totally wasn’t paying attention, next Sunday is Easter!
Baby Boone is 2 months old, that went fast.
Tracy had a nice pic of BJ on Facebook. BJ, you look great!

Holly, I think my pink dogwood died. It should be blooming by now. I'll break off a limb tomorrow and that will tell me. Both of our Applebees went out of business. We have a Chipotles coming here and a second Chick-fila.
This was the best Masters golf tournament I've ever watched. I only watch it on the last day. McElroy (from Ireland) lead the entire tournament, but blew it on the last hole (18th hole). They had sudden death playoff (one more round) and he ended up winning. It was his first Masters win and he was so emotional.
I fixed Jiffy cornbread mix today for the first time. It has a sweet taste and I'm not a fan.

YOGI BERA WOULD SAY......
1. I READ PART OF IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH.
2. OUR COMEDIES ARE NOT TO BE LAUGHED AT.
ITS 53, SUNNY AND SHOULD HIT LOW 60S TODAY. LOVE IT.
I WAS AWAKENED BY MGMT TESTING OUR FIRE ALARMS, SMOKE ALARMS, AT 8 A.M. I GO TO BED SO LATE (2-4 A.M.) THAT I RARELY AWAKEN BEFORE 9. LUCKY ME I COULD TURN OFF MY HEARING DEVICE SO THAT HELPED. THEN I HAD TO WAIT FOR THEM TO COME INTO MY APT AND TEST MY PERSONAL ONES BEFORE I COULD TAKE MY SHOWER. AT LEAST NOW WE ARE SAFE FOR ANOTHER YEAR.
I WORKED ON MY JIGSAW PUZZLE THIS MORNING.
FOR LUNCH I PLAN TO MAKE A SALAD. MAYBE TONITE WILL BE SHELL PASTA WITH MEAT SAUCE. I MAY SEND SOME TO MICHELE WHO IS SO RECENTLY HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL.
ITS SO NICE OUT. IN THE 50S RIGHT NOW. I TOOK OUT MY TRASH. WILL DO MY RECYCLES TOMORROW I THINK.
I HOPE TO SEW THIS AFTERNOON. I WANT TO GET MY EGG TREE DONE BEFORE EASTER THIS SUNDAY.
ORDERED SOME NEW DISH TOWELS FROM TARGET. I WANTED SOME THAT WERE MORE ABSORBENT LIKE SOME I HAVE THAT ARE TERRYCLOTH. THE COTTON ONES JUST DON'T DO THE TRICK. I WILL USE THEM FOR CLEANING RAGS. I ALSO BOUGHT SOME CANNED GOODS AND SOME TRACING PAPER TO MAKE UP THE $35 I NEEDED FOR FREE SHIPPING.
OFF TO DO SOMETHING.
STAY SAFE. HUGS FOR YOU ALL. QB S

=26pxGood Monday morning! I woke up at 7 just as my heart rhythm went into afib, first time in a year or so. This episode lasted about 4 hours. As I had discussed with my cardiologist, I took an extra pill, the one that keeps my rate down, and just waited it out. It’s somewhere between annoying and miserable, and I knew exactly when my heart went back into normal sinus rhythm. I plan to lay low the rest of the day.

Devonne, your roses and back yard flowers are so pretty. My daffodils are big and pretty but that is all that is blooming for me. My lilacs and azaela have buds but not flowering yet. Aaron and Katie have some pretty crocus and hyacinths and they are very pretty. The trees are all budding too.
Dean and I walked at Wingfoot Lake State Park and I was hoping to see the herons, but, we did not see any.. A friend posted a picture yesterday of one, but not sure where he saw it. We did get to see the eagle nests, but they are across the lake. It was still exciting to see them flying around and then landing near the nests. I forgot to take my binoculars again.
Aaron and both kids have spring colds and feel lousy. I woke up with a headache and thought perhaps I was getting it too, but feel much better this afternoon.
It was a pretty day, but supposed to thunder storm this evening.
On the subject of saving money, I guess Dean and I should use some and take a vacation, but we don't usually do that. We have given the allowable nontaxable amounts to the boys this year and Aaron bought a used Rav with his. He wanted to pay cash and not have a car payment. He will sell his older van this summer and put the money away to get Gabriel a used car. I cannot believe he will be 16 on May 6. My little preemie baby is now 6'3" tall. Anthony put his away for college tuitions coming up.

I feel like I should put on my nurse hat and talk about afib. No one should base their actions on mine. I’m followed by an electrophysiology cardiologist- he only sees patients with arrhythmias. I’ve had two ablations, and I’m on an anticoagulant and meds to keep my rate down. I’ve discussed with the doc what to do of if I have an episode. I know exactly when an episode starts and when it ends.
According to my doc, one in 8 people will have at least one episode of afib, and the older you get, the more likely it is to happen. With some people it’s one and done, others have ongoing issues.
Symptoms include sudden onset of a fast heart rate, dizziness, knowing something is wrong. If it happens, seek medical attention because there is danger of a stroke.
Different people have different reactions. My friend’s husband has no idea when he’s in afib, and shows no symptoms. Janet has said that her DH has chronic afib.
Taking off the nurse hat now.

ACCIDENTAL BLOOPERS........
1. COMING HOME, I DROVE INTO THE WRONG HOUSE AND COLLIDED WITH A TREE I DIDN'T HAVE.
2. A TRUCK BACKED THROUGH MY WINDSHIELD AND INTO MY WIFE'S FACE.
IT RAINED ALL THRU THE NITE. TODAY I SEE A BIT OF BLUE UP THERE. I AM HOPING FOR A CLEARING DAY.
HOLLY......SORRY FOR THE A-FIB SCARE. ITS TIME TO TAKE IT EASY DURING THOSE TIMES. THANKS FOR THE INFO. I DIDN'T KNOW ALL THAT.
I HAVE TROUBLE WITH MY HEART AT TIMES AND SOME WERE CAUSED BY THE MEDS I TOOK FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. THEY HAD A BAD RESULT AFTER WORKING GREAT FOR YEARS. A CHANGE IN MEDS HELPED ME, THANK GOODNESS.
MY NEIGHBOR MICHELE GAVE ME A PACK OF FRESH STRAWBERRIES AND A 4-PACK CANS OF ALBACORE WHITE TUNA. SHE LIKES TO GIVE BACK WHEN SOMEONE HELPS HER. I LIKE TO SEE THAT SHE EATS SOME DECENT MEALS AND I GET HER MAIL AND TOSS HER TRASH FOR HER WHEN SHE'S NOT FEELING HER BEST.
YESTERDAY I MADE SHELL PASTA WITH MEAT SAUCE AND SHARED WITH HER AND GAVE HER A DEVIL DOG (A CREAM-FILLED CHOCOLATE CAKEY THING LIKE A TWINKIE). TODAY I WILL BRING HER SOME MASHED POTATOES. SHE AND MY NEIGHBOR NAN ENJOY THEM SO I WILL MAKE ENOUGH FOR ALL OF US.
I STARTED A NEW JIGSAW PUZZLE AND AM ENJOYING WORKING ON THAT EACH MORNING. I SEWED MY EASTER EGG TREE WH YESTERDAY SO WANT TO WORK ON THAT TODAY. EASTER IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER.
FOR THOSE THAT LIKE TO TEST THEIR BRAINS TO KEEP THEM ACTIVE, THERE ARE 2 NEW GAME SHOWS ON THE GAME SHOW CHANNEL. BOTH TIC, TAC, DOUGH AND BINGO BLITZ TEST OUR BRAINS WITHOUT TOO MUCH WORK. THEY ARE BOTH MULTIPLE CHOICES WHICH I FIND HELPS ME A LOT. SOMETIMES I KNOW THE ANSWER BUT CAN'T QUITE REMEMBER IT. THE MULTIPLE CHOICE FIXES THAT PROBLEM. KEEPS THE BRAIN CELLS WORKING. VALERIE BERTINELLI HOSTS BINGO BLITZ AND SHE'S LOST A LOT OF WEIGHT SINCE SHE HOSTED KIDS BAKING CHAMPIONSHIP. SHE'S LOOKING SO MUCH YOUNGER AND SVELTE.
ON A SPRING NOTE, SOME OF OUR TUBER FLOWERS ARE STARTING TO POKE THRU THE SOIL. I LOVE WHEN THE FLOWERS BURST INTO BLOOM.
I GUESS THAT'S IT FOR ME. HUGS FOR YOU ALL. QB S

I made us dippy eggs for breakfast. Then I loaded the quilt top on the HQ16, and unfolded the backing so it can hang for 24 hours.
It’s supposed to rain today, and my knees agree with the forecast!
I called my brother Mike and texted my SIL, today is their 41st anniversary.
I’m not sure what’s for dinner.

Good Morning to everyone!! It is a beautiful, if pretty breezy, day today. I'm pretty still today, not enough energy to do anything. But, I'll guess it has something to do with age!!
Just wanted to say Hi to everyone and will sign off now, wishing you all well, BJ.

It is pouring rain today, and of course, I had to go to the grocery store. I just got a few items. I also went to get some Easter candy for the grandkids' baskets. I just bought small totes from Dollar Tree to use as a basket since they are all older. I used to get them all a new summer outfit, but I cannot pick out clothes for any of them now. so, it will be a small amount of treats and money in a card.
Holly, thanks for the info on afib. My mom had congestive heart disease and my primary care doc and a cardiologist are "watching" me. I see the cardiologist again in May, but my last treadmill stress test was within normal ranges. My recovery was actually quick, the nurse said. I guess all my walking paid off. Still, I did not care for that particular test.
Nothing else to say, so will sign off for now.

Afternoon y'all!
Sunday I got a call at 5:30 AM that they were sending mom to the hospital ER for low potassium. Spent the better part of my day there. Brought a book and sewing. They sent her back to the Rehab place by late afternoon! Long day! At least this time I got a call before they transported her! Heads would have rolled. This is her 4th facility! The last one still has not called me about her lost glasses, nor the Director of Nursing has returned my inquiries! Since they could not be bothered with me or my mom, I was not going to take her back there. I have lots of decisions to make, for mom and her future care, it's enough to make your head spin! I need to get in touch with my contact for her Assisted living facility, I need to list questions for me to ask before I call!
Luke has been home since last week, furlough, this is an every year thing and was on the books before the DOGE got involved. He is going back to his apartment tomorrow. Just to relax before he starts back on Sunday! Yup! He has to work Easter Sunday. He has a job he loves and that's the important part!
Not much else going on. I go almost daily to see mom. I have lost all trust in rehab facilities. Imagine that after all we have been through!
I am sewing a smidge. Not just what I take to the hospital, but at my machine! Don't faint! I have made myself carve out time for what I enjoy!
My lemon tree is loaded with blooms. Got it on the deck before they popped open so the bees and company could do there thing so we can get lemons! We put it up on a table, Simba broke a branch with his donut collar he had to wear!
Simba is doing great. No obvious decrease in activity. I think he never really got to be a puppy and is making up for lost time!
My MIL is scheduled for her elbow replacement surgery on May 8. PT is unknown until after surgery! We probably will all chip in to take her until she can drive by herself! This is the last thing that needs to be done to get her independence back!
Need to go get supper started!
Later my Friends!

My pink dogwood tree did indeed die. I've never been able to grow a pink one.
Theresa, good luck to your MIL. Glad Luke is back on his job!

Good Morning to everyone!! It is a gorgeous day here. It's only 44* but the sun is shining and it is very still. I'm not very bright this morning, but will try to do a few things. Coffee is delicious this morning.
I really don't have a thing to say this morning, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

Good morning. Sunny and windy here. It seems it's always windy. I'm feeling a bit off. Trish, you asked about Mary Leigh. She's not really better. Is seeing a counselor, licensed by the state and has an appt. with a psychiatrist next Thurs. Got an emergency one for yesterday, but got a call that that doctor has the flu. I'm gentle and careful with her when we talk, but she always seems to end up terribly distressed and I end up feeling like I've said the wrong thing again because, of course, her condition is always the elephant in the room. We're not estranged, but it's just different.
At my suggestion, we decided to skip Easter dinner, here. Andrew wasn't coming home anyway. And, we have our small group on Friday. Not here but I have to make dessert for it.
So, now, we're tentatively planning for the next weekend when he IS coming home unless something else changes. He's scheduled to take one of his CPA boards on that Saturday.
One day at a time...
Sent that because last time I tried to post, twice, both flashed and disappeared and because I was out of time, I gave up.
Theresa, I'm so sorry for the continuing issues with your Mom. Good for you, carving out some "me" time for what you love. Between her, Luke and your new fur baby, there's no end, is there? I'm sure Simba brings some joy just by being a darn-fool pup. Shena, next door, tried to grow a lemon tree at one time. I think it went the way of Devonne's dogwood tree...
QB, I made your 4 ingredient casserole for supper yesterday and it was easy and good. I used chicken and a few leftover frozen mixed vegs and celery soup. We have half left for tonight.
Just the right size to finish up in two meals. Thank you...(always looking after us, here, in some way)
I've toured many old homes. Mom, ML and I even stayed overnight one time in a house with some connection to James Witcomb Riley in Madison, IN. The thing I remember was in one of it's display cabines were some mussel shells with round punched out holes from a factory that made pearl buttons, some of my favorites. I have quite a collection of old buttons upstairs in my abandoned sewing room. Anyone else here who likes buttons?
Well, now it's lunchtime, so I'm off. Thanks for being my friends thru thick and thin. It's a special blessing.

CLASSIFIED ADS GONE WRONG......
1. NO MATTER WHAT YOUR TOPCOAT IS MADE OF, THIS MIRACLE SPRAY WILL MAKE IT REALLY REPELLENT.
2. FOR SALE: EIGHT PUPPES FROM A GERMAN SHEPHERD AND AN ALASKAN HUSSY.
THE SUN IS IN AND OUT TODAY. MAY HIT 50.
I PLAN TO DO MY LAUNDRY TODAY BUT RIGHT NOW THE 4 MACHINES ARE BUSY. I HOPE THEY ARE CLEAR BY TWO-ISH WHEN I WILL TRY AGAIN.
I MADE MASHED POTATOES LAST NITE AND GAVE OUT A COUPLE TO NEIGHBORS. I LOVE USING MY RICER. NO LUMPS. AND IF YOU LET THE DRAINED TATERS DRY OUT ON A STILL-HOT ELECTRIC BURNER FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, THEY ARE NEVER GUMMY. JUST STIR THEM AROUND A BIT WITH A WOODEN SPOON WHILE THEY ARE EVAPORATING. ITS THE WET THAT MAKES THEM GUMMY. UGH.
I REC'D MY BILLS FROM MY E.R. VISIT IN MARCH. THE HOSPITAL FOR ONLY THE 3 HOURS I WAS THERE AND ALL THE TESTS EXCEEDED 6 GRAND. MY SHARE IS $90. I JUST LOVE INSURANCE.
AND THE AMBULANCE WAS OVER $1400 AND MY SHARE OF THAT IS $120. AMAZING IT COSTS ME MORE FOR THE AMBULANCE THAN THE HOSPITAL AND DOCTORS AND TESTS. ANYWAY, MY BUDGET CAN HANDLE THOSE NUMBERS.
THE DISH TOWELS I BOUGHT FROM TARGET CAME. THEY LOOK AND FEEL NICE. I HOPE THEY ARE ABSORBENT AS CLAIMED. I TOSSED MY OLD COTTON ONES IN THE RAG BAG TO USE FOR CLEANING.
JUDY......SO SORRY THAT YOUR DEAR MARY LEIGH IS SUFFERING. ITS TOUGH TO DECIDE WHAT ONE SHOULD OR NOT SAY TO SOMEONE IN THAT CONDITION. I HOPE THE HELP SHE IS GETTING DOES IT MAGIC SOON. I KNOW ITS A WORRY FOR YOU.
I'M GLAD THE 4-LAYER CASSY WORKED FOR YOU. I LOVE THAT YOU CAN USE ANY COMBO AND IT STILL TASTES GOOD. USE THE SEASONINGS YOU PREFER AND YOU CAN'T GO WRONG.
BINGO TONITE LADIES. WISH ME LUCK.
I WORKED ON MY JIGSAW PUZZLE THIS MORNING AND MAY WORK ON MY EASTER EGG WH BUT NOT SURE. I HAVE IT PINNED BUT IT NEEDS SOME QUILTING. EASTER IS COMING UP FAST.
FOOD TODAY IS LEFTOVERS FOR LUNCH AND FOR SUPPER. I TOOK OUT CHICKEN BREAST TO DEFROST FOR ANOTHER DAY. I'M HOPING TO MAKE SOME POTATO PANCAKES SOMETIME TOMORROW.
THAT'S IT LADES. STAY SAFE. HUGS, QB S
