I'm glad I haven't planted any flowers yet. 87 last week and now we are under a freeze warning!
Cheryl, my prayer is Aaron will always have a clear Petscan. The expense & the learning curve made me stick to regular straight quilting.
I now have an updated Will; also Warranty Deed with Joint Tenants Right of Survivorship, which will override a Will and keep my sons out of Probate Court. I am all finished with legal documents. Also added my sons to my bank account as beneficiaries.
I am all set except I need to make a list of all my bills and add phone numbers for each, esp. pension and SS. I miss Microsoft Word because this is where I used to type letters, etc. I'm sure Apple has something I can use; I don't know what it is yet, lol.

Devonne, how about Google docs? I use it and Google sheets a lot.

We're just home from town...got my hair cut, had an Arby's crispy fish sandwich for late lunch (Howard chose not to eat. Weird, but it's his choice since he's trying to lose some weight) and then the ubiquitous trip to W-M for an RX and few things. Those few things always add up to $30 to $50. Argh!
It's a bright sunny day but not even 40 degrees and the wind is cold. As my beautician said: April in Indiana--all four season in one day.
Devonne, it may come to that but so far, if he's well, Howard still drives most of the time. At least I'm up for it now, when it's necessary. He's feeling much better but is tired and weak and of course, our phones wouldn't work in W-M. Sometimes they do, sometimes, not. And, we couldn't find each other for a bit. But no one lost their temper when we finally did.
So, I'm going to buzz right off and put things away and carry on...

Holly, I planted bee balm a couple years ago and now it has taken over my west side of the house flower bed! It is really prolific and reseeds itself every year. I did cut them back a little last year because they were so long and "leggy" but the blooms are pretty. Mine are dark pink/reddish. I have no windows on that side of my house so I don't know if hummingbirds come to it or not, but they come to my petunias and Rose of Sharon for sure.
Devonne, thank you for the prayers for Aaron; we pray for the same thing every time he has to get a scan. He will go again in December. I am praying for you too, my friend. Dean and I are doing the exact same thing you are doing to try to avoid probate. We now have both sons as beneficiaries on our insurances and stocks/annuities. We have not done the house thing yet since I did not want to have Aaron add assets when Gabriel goes to college. It will help with him getting student loans/grants. Not sure if his name on the house under those conditions would do it, so Dean is researching it,
Speaking of student loans, Anthony works for Ohio State, so Abigail can go there tuition free if she qualifies for entrance. OSU gets way more applicants than freshman spots, but Abby is an honors student, so I think she will be fine, however, now she thinks she wants to go to Kentucky or Tennessee because she wants to be an Occupational Therapist and she thinks they have better programs for that. If it were up to me I would say she had to go at least the first two years tuition free, live at home, and save money. Then take her last two years where ever she wanted if not OSU.
Snowed again last night but sunny and bright, if chilly, today. I love it. Would much rather see blue skies than gray.
Janet, Dean has a big truck too and I have not driven it yet even after 3 years. When Abby was learning to drive, she got it his truck like it was nothing! It scares me. lol
Making spaghetti and garlic bread for supper, so must go stir my sauce.

Maybe the house issue varies by state? When mom died, my brothers and I were left everything, including the house. The will had to be probated, which meant Mike and I as executors, went to the county probate office and filed it, and paid for copies of what’s called a short certificate, which allowed us to settle the estate. None of us had to pay any estate tax, because we were her children. And it was under some amount of money. Each bank had to get a copy of the short certificate.

Holly, thanks for the Google Docs recommendation. I found Text Edit on my Mac and it works great. I'm sure things do vary by state as far as wills, probate court, etc. I was surprised that a Will doesn't need to be notarized in the state of Georgia.
I made the best dinner...Ritz mayo baked chicken, white corn and steamed broccoli. Best corn I have ever had (besides fresh corn on cob). It's made by Pictsweet in the frozen section. I have enough left for lunch tomorrow.

Good Morning to everyone!! It is very still outside, not a breath of air moving. It obviously rained overnight, but not this morning. I really don't have a thing to say this morning, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES.......
1. CARIBBEAN ISLANDS DRIFT TO THE LEFT.
2. THUGS EAT THEN ROB PROPRIETOR.
LOTS OF BIG FLAKES OF SNOW YESTERDAY. SURE LOOKED LOVELY. IT DIDN'T LAST. THE GROUND IS CLEAR WITH SUNSHINE TODAY.
MY DAU CAME OVER YESTERDAY AND CLEANED FOR ME. SHE WASHED MY FLOORS, DID THE OVEN, AND WASHED DOWN MY KITCHEN CABINETS. THE CLEANER I GOT ONLINE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK LIKE MAGIC, DIDN'T. REGULAR OVEN CLEANER WOULD WORK BETTER. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SPLASH SPRAY WHICH I BOUGHT ONLINE PARTICULARLY FOR MY OVEN. IT WORKED WELL ON THE CABINETS BUT ITS NOT ANY BETTER THAN CLEANERS YOU CAN BUY IN THE GROCERY STORE. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
MY NEIGHBOR MICHELE ASKED ME TO COME OVER YESTERDAY TO SIT AND READ WHILE SHE TOOK HER SHOWER BEFORE GOING TO HER DR VISIT. I KNOCKED....AND KNOCKED. NO ANSWER. I HAD A SPARE KEY FOR HER APT AND MAILBOX SO WENT IN. SHE WAS SITTING ON THE FLOOR BESIDE HER BED. SHE HAD FALLEN WHILE TRYING TO FIX HER BED. I COULDN'T LIFT HER. I HAD TO CALL 911. WHILE HERE THE EMTS THOUGHT SHE SHOULD GO TO THE E.R. SINCE SHE HAD SUFFERED SUCH A BAD PAIN IN HER KIDNEYS, SHE FELL TO THE FLOOR. SHE'S COMING HOME TODAY WITH NEW MEDS FOR THE KIDNEYS. WILL LEARN MORE LATER.
TONITE IS BINGO NIGHT. I HOPE TO WIN A LITTLE AGAIN TONITE.
THAT'S IT LADIES. ANOTHER SLOW DAY FOR ME.
HUGS FOR ALL. QB S

Yikes, Sandra, good thing you checked on her!
Thanks for the comments on the bee balm! I ordered seeds last night. Our last frost date is May 15, so too soon to plant.
We went to Acme this morning, because Ralph wanted sausage and peppers. Milk there was a dollar higher than we paid at Aldi! Of course they have a more extensive variety of yogurt, being a bigger store. Heather said Eddie eats Oikos because there’s more protein, each container of the Greek yogurt has 11 or 12 grams of protein.
Then we went down the road a little to the newly opened Nothing but Bundt store and got 2 mini cakes, a lemon and a carrot. Then home for Olive Garden leftover salad.
it was cold last night, 28! Only in the 40’s now.
Steph finally got her coasters. 12 days! And it was priority mail!

Forgot to say, Cheryl, I so agree with you about the college. It’s ridiculous to pay out of state tuition when she can go free. And her perception of one program being better may not be accurate. All the programs would have to meet licensing requirements, so they can’t be that different. And I know from being a nurse that all the hospitals care is that you passed your boards, not where you went. I sure wouldn’t go into debt for that. But kids don’t want to hear it, it’s up to parents to put their foot down.

Nothing going on here. Howard is having his morning nap. I'm not making fun of him...he needs to get his strength back. He could have gone out for lunch twice this week, but just didn't feel up to it, so turned Dave down and texted the ROMEO contact. I'm a happy camper as it's a home day and I have lots to pick from (that won't get done, but...)
QB, sorry your cleaner was a bust. But, how nice to have Colleen there with you. I'll bet you girls had a lot to catch up on while she worked. Your granddaughter must have had other plans. What a great job she has doing something she loves and making a living at it. And
how fortunate that you could find and help your neighbor. I hope you "taught" her to always keep her phone with her. I'm assuming she hadn't done that. Had to be an upsetting situation for you, though. I take my phone into the bathroom when I shower, now, if Howard is upstairs.
Off to put some pork county ribs in one crock pot and canned green beans and bacon in the other. Will quickly look up recipes on-line first. Have a good day and I wish you all many blessings.

Quiet day here. Ralph had breakfast with the Veterans. I paid bills online and did a blog post, not feeling real ambitious. After he had breakfast, he stopped at the library and picked up books that we had on request.
Judy, we take naps almost every day. Ralph likes the guest room, I like the couch with the heated throw. My phone had a health app that tracks my sleep via my Apple Watch. With the naps, I get something close to 8 hours per 24 hour period. The joys of retirement!

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES.......
1. ROBBER HOLDS UP ALBERT'S HOSIERY.
2. NEW HOUSING FOR ELDERLY NOT YET DEAD.
SUNNY TODAY AND IN THE 40S. NICE.
JUDY......M THOUGHT SHE WAS SAFE FIXING HER BED BUT OBVIOUSLY NOT. NOW I HAVE TO TEACH HER TO HAVE A 'GO-TO' BAG READY FOR HOSPITAL TRIPS. SHE WENT IN HER PJS, ROBE, AND SLIPPERS. NO CLOTHES TO WEAR TO COME HOME. NO EXTRA NITEY OR ANYTHING. THEY ARE KEEPING HER ANOTHER DAY. I PACKED A GROCERY BAG OF HER COMING-HOME CLOTHES THAT ONE OF THE GALS HERE WILL DROP OFF AT THE HOSPITAL FOR HER,
WE ACTUALLY DISCUSSED THAT MATTER AT BINGO LAST NITE, A GO-TO BAG. THE OTHERS PLAN TO DO SOMETHING ON THAT SCALE THEMSELVES. EVEN THOSE WITH FAMILY NEARBY SAY THEY WILL TAKE A BOOK AND STUFF TO WILE AWAY THE TIME IF ITS ONLY A FEW HOURS THERE FOR TESTS.
OH, YES, I LOST 2 DOLLARS. NOT BAD AND LOTS OF FUN.
THIS MORNING I WENT TO CRAFT MORNING WITH SOME EMBROIDERED VICTORIAN LADY BLOCKS AND LACES. I AM HANDSEWING ON TRIMS FOR BONNETS AND DRESSES. I WON'T BE MAKING A QUILT FROM THEM SO WILL GIVE A FEW AS GIFTS HERE AND SOME FOR MY OWN DOOR AND WHS.
I HAVE CHICKEN BREAST BAKING IN THE TOASTER OVEN. I THINK I WILL MAKE A SMALL 9 BY 9 CHICKEN NOODLES CASSY FOR MYSELF TODAY.
I WORKED ON MY JIGSAW PUZZLE THIS MORNING AS WELL. NEIGHBOR SHARON AND I RECONFIGURED THE COMMON ROOM. WE HAVE THE PUZZLE TABLES ACROSS FROM EACH OTHER SO ANYONE CAN WORK ON EITHER ONE OR A LITTLE OF BOTH. SHE BROUGHT A SIDE TABLE OUT FOR THE UPHOLSTERED CHAIR IN THAT AREA FOR HOLDING COFFEE, TEA, OR HANDWORK WHERE SOMEONE CAN SIT AND READ OR DO HANDWORK. WHERE I HAD MY PUZZLE ON A SMALLER TABLE ACROSS THE ROOM, WE ARE SAVING THAT ONE FOR BOARD GAMES. WE HAVE CHECKERS, CRIBBAGE, DOMINOES, ETC THAT WE CAN TRY. ONE OF THE GALS LOVES CRIBBAGE AND BOTH SHARON AND I FORGOT HOW TO PLAY IT SO WE WILL ASK SANDY TO REMIND US THE RULES SO WE CAN PLAY CRIBBAGE TOGETHER.
THAT'S IT LADIES. I MAY DO SOME SEWING TODAY. I WANT TO FINISH THE CARDINAL FOR MY FRIENDLY NEIGHBOR.
HUGS FOR YOU ALL. QB S

BRRR! Cold and rainy today, but at least no flooding. Southern Ohio/Kentucky/India are all getting it from the Ohio River.
Gabriel is with his high school band on a trip to Philadelphia and then on to New York City. He will be gone until Sunday night. They have chartered nice buses, so I am sure they will have a grand time. I have not been to either of those cities. New York is Aaron's favorite city. Too bad it is so expensive, or he would live there.
I am in a food slump; nothing sounds good to me. I made baked chicken breasts and had a simple salad for supper today. We had spaghetti the past two days. Same old stuff.
Sandra, how scary to find your friend on the floor. Thank goodness you found her.
Well, I was called to Federal Jury Duty AGAIN.. It was a year in March since I had to register, so I thought I was going to be bypassed. Nope; it is a two year wait list and now I have to check nightly to see if I need to go to the courthouse starting April 29 for 30 days. I hate it. Also, the city of Akron is doing lots of construction near the Federal Courthouse, so parking will be a nightmare. The instructions said to allow time to find parking.
Holly, napping during the day usually gives me a headache, so I do not do that; at least not yet.

Sandra, you are a hero. I guess her phone wasn't close by.
I am enjoying my drive to my treatments. I leave 30 minutes earlier in case of road construction and not feel rushed to get there. It's 75 miles round trip. I go down Dixie Street every day; there are many old Victorian houses on this street. They used to have tours of these houses (I need to check into that.) Two of the houses have a porte-cochere. They were originally used for horse drawn carriages. You rarely ever see those.
I made these pictures out the window while driving, so they're the best I could get. I didn't get pictures of all the houses. I hope you enjoy them.
There are some old plantation type houses two miles from me that I hope to get pictures of one day.
This next one has a porte-cochere to the left.
Same house as above, with a front view. No one was behind me, so I got to stop in the road to get this picture, lol.

QB, Belated Birthday wishes to you. Thanks for remembering mine. Not too much happening here. Saturday Tim and I went to the UPS Store. I had six boxes of Terri's stuff to ship to various family. Some were too heavy for me. Then we went out for lunch.
On my birthday I treated myself to a mani/pedi. It was very strange as it is something Terri and I did regularly. I'm glad that I did it but I was very glad it was over. Next time should be easier. I'm looking forward to getting back to some sewing. I have three sets of Terri's block of the month blocks that need to be put together. Finally got one up on design wall for placement, so will get to that soon.
Stay safe.
