Good Morning! It is 8:13 here this morning, it is a beautiful day outside. The sun is shining brightly and it is very still. I really don't have a thing to say this morning, so will sign off. Wishing you all well, BJ.
Offline
Howard is off to lunch with the R.O.M.E.O. s--Retired old men eating out. ( I hope I didn't just tell you all that a few days ago. ) They're going to Chili's today. So now he has two different lunch possibilities. These are all men from our church that he knows quite well plus, of course, Dave...his best friend, who called and asked for yesterday. How did I get so lucky?
QB, when the calendar says it's spring, we think it's spring, and shouldn't be winter anymore. Often not so and of course, that's the day we're on for an appt. somewhere. Murphy's law?? Glad your DD got home safely.
I have a bit of a mend to do. Our church has an auction of donated items each spring to help fund some of the short-term mission trips they do. The person in charge rec'd. a donated new quilt that has a seam that's coming apart and ML volunteered me to fix it. It's only about 2 inches long, so should be a quick fix. It's a large pinwheel pattern, machine pieced and quilted. Has been washed in the strongest smelling detergent I've ever smelled, I do believe...so I'm airing it out before I get my nose too close.
Trish, no matter what, it's always hard-er to buy gifts for men, IMHO. I hope Warwick comes to a decision that works for all of you. How nice for you two girls to get out for a bit, plus finding that hidden treasure of an Asian grocery for some special treats. Hope your pain can be relieved soon. It's been awhile that you've dealt with that. Best wishes...
I have $10 from HSN that burning a hole in my pocket. Complicated because once again we've been hacked and are awaiting a new credit card. This has to be the 5th or 6th time, the last one being only a month ago. Think we're going to go to the credit union and ask them if they have any suggestions. I'm seriously afraid to use any card now but if I'm going to take advantage of the $10, I'll have to, and how can you ever buy anything now without using one?
Theresa, steps forward with your Mom, Luke... and Simba. Hope he doesn't wonder what on earth happen? I believe, though, that dogs have short memories and he'll get lots of loving from you all. The bestest of wishes for your dear Mom.
I'd better quit here and figure out something to enjoy my quiet time at home alone. It'll be over soon enough. Have a good day.
Indy

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES......
1. MILK DRINKERS ARE TURNING TO POWDER.
2. 10 REVOLTING OFFICERS EXECUTED.
ITS SUNNY RIGHT NOW IN MID 40S. WE MAY GET SNOW SHOWERS LATER.
IF I REPEAT SOME OF MY FUNNEES, PLEASE FORGIVE ME.
MY PUTER WAS SO SLUGGISH I HAD TO RESTART IT. ITS WORKING WELL AGAIN, THANK GOODNESS.
I HAD MY PRIMARY CARE APPT AND ALL IS WELL. THEY WILL CONTINUE WITH THE NEW MEDS AND CALLED THEM INTO MY ONLINE PHARMACY, OPTUM RX, WHO SENDS ME 3 MONTHS SUPPLY AT A TIME. I GOT THE CONFIRMATION FROM OPTUM THAT THEY GOT THE NEW SCRIPTS AND ARE WORKING ON FILLING THEM.
TRISH.....WHEN YOU SAID YOU ARE GETTING WARWICK NEW BOWLS, I THOUGHT THEY WERE SOMETHING LIKE OUR BOWLING BOWLS IN PRICE. YIKES. YOUR LAWN BOWLS ARE TREMENDOUSLY HIGHER. I HOPE HE MAKES UP HIS MIND SOON SO YOU CAN PUT THAT BEHIND YOU.
NOTHING MUCH PLANNED NOW FOR ME. MY DAU. BROUGHT ME A CONTAINER OF AMERICAN CHOP SUEY WHICH IS A PASTA AND GROUND BEEF AND TOMATO SAUCE DISH. I DO NOT HAVE TO COOK TONITE AFTER BINGO.
CROSS YOUR FINGERS FOR ME LADIES. I HAVE BEEN LOSING MONEY EVERY WEEK AT BINGO. I HOPE TO WIN A LITTLE TONITE.
I GUESS I WILL FIND OUT ABOUT MY ECHO WHEN I SEE MY CARDIO DR ON APRIL 1ST. I HOPE HE DOESN'T PULL A PRANK ON ME AND TELL ME I HAVE SERIOUS ISSUES. YES, ITS APRIL FOOL'S DAY AND WHO KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN. MY NEXT PRIMARY APPT WILL BE IN AUGUST UNLESS SOMETHING HAPPENS TO CHANGE IT.
I DID NOT EAT AFTER SUPPER LAST NITE IN CASE I HAD TO GET LABS. NOT NEEDED. I JUST HAD THEM DONE SOME MONTHS AGO.
I GAVE MY DAUGHTER 2 HUGE TRASH BAGS OF COATS, JACKETS, AND DENIM SHIRTS. WHAT SHE AND THE GIRLS CAN'T USE SHE WILL BRING TO HER CHURCH FOR THE DONATION PILE. SHE'D RATHER THAT THAN GIVE TO SALVATION ARMY OR GOODWILL WHO CHARGE FOR THE CLOTHING. I WILL GO THRU MY DRESSES BEFORE SHE COMES TO TAKE ME TO MY APRIL 1ST APPT SO SHE CAN TAKE THEM TO THE CHURCH.
STAY SAFE LADIES. HUGS, QB S

[url=A quick link about lawn bowls. No idea why this is blue 😁😁
just click on and you’ll see a little, goes too long to watch entirely

SANDRA the bowls are in a set of 4, they are weighted, can be all sorts of designs, and when they “put them down” as they say, I say bowl the ball 😁 the ball can go wide, narrow straight etc. The rink (lawn between where they stand and the little white ball ) is quite a distance, from memory they need to have the mat a minimum of 22 meters from the white ball, but it can be longer.
that is about all I know - except it’s boring to watch, games go for about 2 1/2 hours
GOOD LUCK tonight at Bingo, good idea on the clothes.
INDY that is not good about the cards, I think I would use cash only. Too frustrating. Wonder where the hack is happening, I use cards all the time but we’ve only been hacked twice, both times the bank were quick to notify, the last time even they were unsure if the hold was a hack or someone entering wrong details.
OK this iPad is doing weird things, can’t possibly be me 😁😁😁
I’ll quit and come back after physio

Just a quick hello. I've had a headache all day. Dee is here grooming the dogs. She will come back Friday to bathe them & finish the grooming.
I went and got bloodwork done today but they didn't tell me to fast and I had just had Chick-fila. Yikes, lol. My glucose was 132. Shouldn't be more than 99. My Vitamin D is low...was 17 and the lowest should be 30.
Greg has been sick all week; he's very congested. Caleb and Sadie Grace are both out of school sick, so I'm staying away from all of them.
Offline
Trish, your boules sounds like our bocce balls. Usually played in the yard but there are courts at parks where there is team competition. The sets are not as expensive as yours I think.
Offline
DEVONNE so sorry about your headache, not fun about the bloodwork either, they should have reminded you about that, your Vit D is quite low, seem like a lot of us have that problem here, we have been told to be careful of sunburn damage, but also GET some sun too LOL Can't win!!
PATTY it's much more than Bocce, the "rinks" have to be specially prepared, they have grass, but it looks odd, not grass like at all, the surface is rolled over every day, to make it super hard and smooth, and special flat sole shoes are worn so as not to mark the greens. Green keepers if they are good are worth their weight in gold to the bowlers, the condition of the ground has to be perfect.
Plus the bowls themselves are bigger than bocce, and also lots of sizes, currently the Mr has 1s but borrowed 4s, as he now plays with a bowling arm, another whole story LOL
SANDRA hope the bingo went well!!! and you came home a winner, I know it's not a huge loss, but disappointing when it's all the time.
I spent the rest of the day cleaning out the cupboard shelves in my sewing area, It was packed with things, and I thought I might find the scrap box and tool kit for the overlocker, and I did, PLUS software for EQ 5, 6 and 7 and the Dear Jane software as well, plus so many books, all cleared out, and I have 3 huge bags of books etc to give away, I am taking them to sewing tomorrow, will leave them there till Sunday, and then take them to Vinnnies maybe. So much money tied up in this stuff, but if I am not using it, it's a total waste, someone might really get some enjoyment from it all. It's just clutter to me now!
Interesting how I have changed in my likes for patchwork, some things I will never do again. A few others I have decided maybe I will try again.
I did toss out all the Bonnie Hunter mysteries I printed, so much paper, I should be ashamed. Won't do them again though, I did keep 2 patterns of hers though, scrap busters, fun and quick to do.

Good Morning to everyone!! It's just above 50* here this morning and completely blue in the sky, very pretty!! The fellow is here working on our heating stoves, they're not working right but it is warm inside, fortunately. I really have nothing to say this morning, my head is aching quite a bit, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

MISPELLINGS.......
1. VESTAL VIRGINS WERE PURE AND CHASED
2. DURING THE CAVALEER AGE EVERY LADY HAD A NIGHT.
SUNNY AND 40S HERE. I NEED TO TAKE OUT MY TRASH WHILE ITS A GOOD DAY TODAY. MAY GET SOME SNOW SHOWERS TOMORROW OR TONITE. WEIRD.
I LOST SIX BUCKS AT BINGO LAST NITE. I SEEM TO BE LOSING SOME MONEY EVERY WEEK NOW FOR OVER A MONTH. MY LUCK HAS RUN OUT. LUCKY I HAVE A SLUSH FUND FOR ENTERTAINMENT.
I NEED TO GET SOME LAPS DONE TODAY.
I HAVE TRASH TO TAKE OUT AS WELL SO THAT'S MY EXERCISE LISTED FOR THE DAY.
WILL CRUMBLE SOME BREAD TO MAKE SOME MEATBALLS. I NEED TO USE UP THE GROUND BEEF I HAVE DEFROSTED. I ALSO HAVE SOME N. Y. SIRLOIN DEFROSTED SO A PEPPER STEAK SANDWICH OR 2 IS ON MY MENU TONITE.
TRISH.....THANKS FOR THE SITE. I THINK I'D SEEN THIS SPORT IN A MOVIE BEFORE. I KNOW I'VE SEE BOCCE IN ITALIAN FILMS. WE IN THE USA BOWL TEN PINS (WITH THE BIG BALLS) OR CANDLEPINS (USING 3 SMALLER BALLS WITHOUT FINGER HOLES) INDOORS IN A BOWLING ALLEY WITH WOODEN LANES. MY FAMILY USED TO GO CANDLEPIN BOWLING NEARLY EVERY WEEK. LOVED IT. I HAD MY OWN BALLS, TOO. GREEN ONES WITH WHITE WAVY STREAKS IN THEM.
DEVONNE......I HOPE THAT HEADACHE HAS PASSED. NO FUN.
AS FOR LABS, WHENEVER I HAVE A PRIMARY CARE APPT I ALWAYS FAST AFTER SUPPER THE NITE BEFORE IN CASE I NEED TO GET LABS. IN MY CASE, I DO NOT WANT TO ASK MY DAU TO TAKE ME ON A SEPARATE DAY SINCE THE LABS ARE IN THE SAME OFFICES AS MY DR. I'D RATHER DO THEM ON THE SAME SCHEDULE SO IT SAVES HER AN EXTRA TRIP ESPECIALLY SINCE SHE LIVES ABOUT 35 MILES AWAY.
I HOPE OUR DEAR LITTLE FURBABIES ARE NOW CLIPPED AND BEAUTIFUL FOR A FEW MORE WEEKS.
I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GOOD DAY TODAY. HUGS, QB S

I got a call from the oncologist nurse this morning. He has called in a prescription for my low Vitamin D. I take it once a week for 8 weeks. This is most likely the cause of my headaches.
I have homemade biscuits in the oven. I love to make them, but I certainly don't need them. I think of my Mom every time I make them. I can see her walking in her kitchen with a large tray of biscuits in her hand.
Sandra, I think that's the most you have lost at one time. Your luck has to turn around the next time!

Just got off the phone making life insurance calls for both of us--making sure ML is the 2nd beneficiary listed. And they all offered to send verifications for this. We're trying to get our ducks in a row. Our estate is a bit complicated since we're a blended family made more complicated since Howard's boys have totally abandoned us for years, now. He doesn't want them to get anything, but you all know how that goes and we don't want ML to be caught in a family fight, so we'll be seeing an attorney to figure this out. I might call Ellen, my att. cousin who's done all our legalities til now. She's retired and moved to Southern Indiana so I don't know if she'll want to do it anymore. Plus, she refuses to take any money since we're family and that bothers us. In the past, we've given her gift cards. "Chicken feed" in the grand scheme, but something.
A busy board this morning. Gee, QB, that's a big tank! You've never even won that much, have you? But your contingency fund helps and it is your entertainment, so glad you don't have to choose. I hate fasting tests but so far, I've not starved!
Devonne, we were both low on Vit. D and had to up it a couple of years ago. This spring, I've vowed to sit out on the back deck each day which, if there's sun, is flooded with it. So much that I had to drag out my straw hat the last time I sat out there. Our front porch, with the swing and wicker love seat are on the north side so never get full sun. But the shade out there in summer is good. You're smart to stay away from the sickies. So sorry for them...
Trish, Howard thinks watching golf is boring, too. I haven't had the chance to check out your posts but will do so to see what it's all about. When I was young and babysat for my aunt and uncle's 4 kids each Saturday night, one time they surprised me and hired another sitter and took me bowling along w/ their friends. My first time and I loved it. For our first Christmas, Howard's gift to me was a bowling ball, bag & shoes. Sometimes, he and I would bowl in the afternoon when he was on shift work. One time, as I pulled out my shoes and socks, a pair of underpants came along with them. Never figured out how those got in my bowling bag?
Need to grab some lunch. Will fix baked salmon for supper, tonight. Tired of leftovers.

Good Morning to everyone!! It is pretty dreary outside, but the little white flowering tree is in full bloom, looks so nice. Just heard the train whistle going by, it is at the end of our street and then quite a few feet from the end of out road. Wow, the wind really came up and our flag is blowing.
Well, I really don't have a thing to say this morning, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

DON'T KILL YOUR WIFE. LET OUR WASHING MACHINES DO THE DIRTY WORK.
ITS SUNNY RIGHT NOW AND IN THE 40S BUT MORE SNOW COMING TONITE.
I HAVE MORE CLOSET CLEARING TO DO TODAY. I HAVE LOTS OF DRESSES. I ALSO HAVE LOTS OF TEE SHIRTS I NO LONGER WEAR SO THEY CAN GO IN THE DONATION BAGS. THEY WOULD BE GOOD FOR AN ANIMAL SHELTER IF NOTHING ELSE.
I MADE MEATBALLS LAST NITE. I PUT IN TOO MUCH BREAD CRUMBS. I THOUGHT I HAD TOO MUCH BUT JUST IGNORED THE FACT. I LIKE MINE MORE MEATY.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Good day all.
Trish, continued wishes for Megan's speedy recovery. Thanks for the link on the bowls. I wondered what it was exactly. Looks like fun and any age could do it.
Sandra, sorry you are on a losing streak in bingo. I never had any luck with that game. I like playing it, but am a most of the time in it.
I need to go through my closets and get rid of most of my clothes in them. I had lots of nice outfits I wore to work and now just hang around the house so no need for them. I donate to my local thrift shop and to my church clothes pantry. The pantry is free to all, but the thrift shop does charge. It is a Mennonite shop and the profits go to pay for members' health bills, so I don't mind giving to them.
Theresa, hope your mom is all settled in now. It sure had been a horrible ordeal. Hooray for Luke getting his job back!! He has worked so hard for it and that entire situation was nonsense. Good luck on getting Simba neutered. Aaron never did get Bosco neutered because he could only find one vet who would do it and he wanted $1500!! That included a "stomach tacking" that they do recommend for the giant dogs. It also seems nobody wants to give a dog that size anesthesia. So, he kept putting it off and now the dog is almost 5 years old. He is a goofy, friendly and not too active dog, so not sure neutering would help him. Although, other dogs seem to get their hackles up when he is around and I think it is because he is not neutered.
Patty, what a great idea on the infusion center!! My dear friend went through breast cancer chemo in a center and she asked me to make her a throw for that exact reason. She said she was so cold during treatment. I do have a couple within 30 minutes of my house, so I will check into it for sure.
Devonne, your cherry tree is lovely. I am sure you backyard is coming alive with color since you have so many pretty plants, trees and bushes. My daffodils are beautiful and my lilacs are about to burst open. Love the smell of lilacs in the spring.
Judy, hacked again!!! YIKES. I agree with Trish and think I would only use cash for a while. Perhaps you should change banks? It is a terrible problem these days with all the crooks wanting our hard earned money.
The grand kids made it back from Florida and they had a good time. Amelia got sun burned, of course. Her mom told her that she was too pale and needed sun. GRR...she is only 11 and does not need to look sexy. Well, I won't get started on the XDIL.
Grandson, Andrew, is getting baptized on Sunday and we are going down to Columbus for that. Abigail is skipping her senior year of high school and going to college for the credits instead. She had been accepted into an internship for the summer, so my son decided to get her a car. She now is driving a 2023 Camry, which is the newest car of anyone in our family. They got a good deal and we contributed, so she will only have a small car loan for 2 years.
Hello to all and sorry I can't mention you all by name.
Nothing else going on here, so will close for now.

What a wasted time at the cancer center today. It was for x-rays only, but after a 40 minute wait and then another 40 minutes on the table, the two x-ray techs couldn't get the x-rays "aligned"...whatever that means. My oncologist came in and he said this would not be done again today (since I had my arms over my head for 40 minutes already). I'll go back Tuesday to try it again.
I'll be back later to read....

INDY I forgot to mention ROMEO love it!!! I will borrow that one LOL
I hope H and friends had a good time, nice for men to get together to talk "men's stuff" Salmon is nice for supper, we have it fairly often, I love it.
DEVONNE that is not good, having your arms overhead for that long would be very uncomfortable, I don't think I could do it (((hugs)))) Hope it goes well next week, and you can get started.
SANDRA ouch!!! on the loss, that is a big one your luck should surely change soon. I have spent the day cleaning up my mess LOL I found so much I had stored in the shelf in the wardrobe it amazes me how much weight that shelf can take, really strong, it looks so bare now LOL
CHERYL what a great car for her, sorry about the sunburn, we have a 'slip, slop slap' rule SLIP on a top, SLOP on some sunscreen and SLAP on a hat, the boys all have what we call 'rashies' long sleeve (or short) tops plus shorts that reduce the sun, and we reapply sunscreen every 2 hours, it works, the kids get still a little browner, but we don't let them burn, we have found that you get burnt quickly here in the southern hemisphere, I have been in the sun for hours on hot days in the northern hemisphere and never got burnt, I would have had blisters here.
Funny as I wrote "rashies"I have no idea where the word came from, I think it's from surfboard riders.
Our internet is been playing up today, been raining all night and most of today, maybe water has got into lines somewhere, often does and slows things up, we run on cable mostly.
Nothing planned here, I had sewing group yesterday, bought some extra fabric I wanted for my Alice quilt, and mostly did English Paper Piecing, not my favourite, but I am getting better at it. Julie gave me a few more blocks of it to get done, as well and the foundation papers for another 10 blocks, So I have plenty to go on with
I am just sorting out what Dear Jane folder I will take tomorrow, I have 5 lever arch folders for the blocks, and some done in each folder, I was looking to finish one of them, but can't decide which one, they all have some horrors in them LOL
Better bite the bullet and just decide.
I found some Glad Press and Seal in my cleanup, I had 4 rolls of it, do you still use it?? It was deleted here quite a long time ago, but a friend talked me onto getting some for patchwork as you can draw a pattern on it and then peel away after stitching. I never used it, but Julie grabbed at the chance to have it when I messaged her. so must still be used for something LOL
I'm happy -- more stuff gone LOL

The pollen count is really high in Atlanta, breaking a 35 year record. Definitely need to wear a mask sitting outside. Thank goodness I have a garage and my vehicle isn't yellow.
Prayers for the people in Thailand. I hope they are able to save more lives from under the rubble.
BJ, I also listen to the train every day. It comes thru our little town more at night time. I love listening to it! I hope you are having a good day.
Trish, I have never heard of lawn bowls and never seen it on TV. It reminds me of regular bowling, but played outside on a different turf, the balls are much smaller and the goal is, of course, different. Greg started playing disc golf about 4 years ago and he's never went back to regular golf. Disc golf courses are everywhere and they are free.
Cheryl, congratulations to Abigail on her new car. How wonderful she can skip her senior year and go straight to college. She must be really smart. Glad you are going to Andrew's baptism. I still have my Certificate of Baptism from the 70's.
Judy, sent you a PM.
