Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 23 ~ SAT MARCH 29

You are so generous with your cooking for everyone SANDRA I know they would be very grateful. I hope Matt and Daphne  have a great time, and that Michelle recovers quickly now she's home.
You would be tired as well, after putting away all your groceries, that is the worst bit for me, it all takes time.

BJ sorry about all the rain, hope the weather clears up tomorrow for you and you feel a little better ((((hugs)))

MARYLOU what a strange thing to happen, all my power cords are labelled, as it's usually Julie and I who take them to retreat, then spend an hour crawling around taping them down LOL now that's a sight !! I'm glad you got it back, maybe the lady has one just like it, and didn't realise it wasn't hers, OR thought they belonged to anyone, then too embarrassed to say so. We've never had any issues with things at retreat, but we all know each other very well too, so I guess that helps.

JANET I am planning on a big purge here, I have so much "stuff"I need to clear out more, I couldn't find my overlocker bin thing that collects all the trimming, and I know I have it somewhere, just too many books, patterns AND fabric. Time to get rid of it. (or so I keep saying - then "maybe this will come in handy" LOL )

DEVONNE when's the first treatment, I hope you have no issues, my brother has had no problems, apart from finger tips being sensitive to cold/hot. Weird, hadn't heard of that one, but he says that's what he feels. Other than that nothing. Apart from having more energy after the treatments for a while.

CHERYL  trying to find something to make is hard sometimes, what about a simple log cabin, OR a disappearing 9 patch. Sometimes those simple ones are so stunning! And you can use a theme OR  a colour pattern. I did a log cabin in red/white/blue, really maroon and navy and the whites had patterns, Megan still loves that one, and a disappearing 9-patch also in red but with black and white, that's on John's bed.

INDY hope the Mr is feeling better and YOU are getting more energy, those 'flu things really take it out of you, takes a while to recover, was just talking to Megan, she said Gary and John took her to the local mall yesterday and she was so tired when she got home, she's an energiser bunny usually  LOL

I have made a physio appt for tomorrow, glad I could get in quickly, I am hoping they can get  this sciatica sorted quickly, they usually do, but I know the initial massaging will hurt like the dickens!!!
I have been trying to rub it a bit myself, and it hurts, not much sleep last night at all, couldn't lay down without pain - finally get comfy fall asleep and move and it starts all over again. Take no notice, I'm a whiny patient today. Tomorrow will be better.

We had steamed fish tonight, and roasted veg with a salad, funny I can walk around and stand, so cooking is no bother, just sitting or laying is painful

See you tomorrow

I was finally able to log on!  🤪🥳 And I see Trish has bumped and locked threads.  As always, THANK YOU, TRISH, for keeping us up and running!! 🤗🤗🤗

I'm off to bed.  We are watching our son's husky tomorrow (we'll, today, Sunday; it's 2am here) afternoon and evening. She's adorable and so much fun!

Have a great week!

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 23 ~ SAT MARCH 29

EXCUSES, EXCUSES.....
MARY COULD NOT COME TO SCHOOL BECAUSE SHE HAS BEEN BOTHERED BY VERY CLOSE VEINS.

SUNNY TODAY BUT COLDER.  ONLY 30S TODAY WITH SNOW COMING TOMORROW.  NOW THEY TELL US 3 TO 5 INCHES OF WHITE STUFF.

WHAT CAN I SAY, ITS MY DAY OF REST.  THE FOOD WENT OVER WELL WITH SON AND NEIGHBORS.  THO I PLAN TO MAKE SMALLER CASSEROLES TO SAVE FOOD AND MONEY, NOT WHEN I PLAN TO SEE MY SON.  I MAKE THE 9 BY 13 DISH WHICH MEANS SHARING OR I WILL EAT LEFTOVERS FOREVER OR WASTE FOOD.

NO PLANS FOR TODAY.  I AM FEELING GOOD.  MORE ENERGY THAN I'VE HAD WITH THE FORMER PB PILLS.  UNFORTUNATELY ITS THE END OF WINTER AND I'M JUST TIRED OF IT ALL.  I JUST DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING MUCH AT THE MOMENT.  I KNOW THAT WILL IMPROVE WHEN SPRING IS REALLY SHOWING.
I'M NOT COMPLAINING, JUST RESTING UP FOR THE SPRING CLEANING YET TO COME AND THE FUN OF SUNSHINE AND BRIGHT FLOWERS.

HAVE A GOOD DAY.  HUGS FOR ALL. QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 23 ~ SAT MARCH 29

Quilt is beautiful, Janet.  Love the colors.  Thanks for sharing it with us.

Cloudy, cold here, today.  Supposed to gradually warm as the week unfolds.

QB, glad you're feeling perkier with the new meds.  Enjoy the rest of your day of rest...

ML and Bill were out for a short drive yesterday and stopped by here.  I hadn't seen them in over two weeks so there was no risk of passing on my virus, but she was still a bit leery.  Forgot about us being sick or probably wouldn't have come in.  Howard was upstairs watching basketball and never even knew they were here.  But, we are both over it and feel okay, just tired.

Trish, a first surgery is really an eye opener, especially when one is used to being on the go and active like Megan is.  I was 20 when ML was born by C-section and trying to take care of a tiny (5 # 7 oz) squalling baby was almost beyond me.  The next surgery I had was another small squalling baby!  One reason they were 9 yrs. apart!
It's hard to let go of sewing supplies because often you do need them or do wish you had something you let go of.   My friend, Bobbie's philosophy is:  Leave it for the kids to take care of!   And she's about the most thoughtful and conscientious person I know...

Leftover chili for supper.  Yippee!  I do hate to cook on Sunday even more than other days of the week.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 23 ~ SAT MARCH 29

Janet, that quilt is a stunner!!!  I love your colors.  Was the center a panel? Needlework?  How was it made; I can't figure it out by the picture.  What size is it?    Thanks for sharing.  I love to see all the projects you all do.

Dean and I had leftovers from Texas Roadhouse for lunch today.  We ate late, so just nibbling for supper.  We don't care for huge meals these days and would rather graze smaller bits at a time.

Thanks for the suggestions for a new project.  I did check with my local children's hospital and they are now taking handmade blankets once again.  When covid hit, that all ended.  They want the ones for the NICU premies to only be 30 x 36 so those are easy to do.  Those are my favorites.  The ones for the childrens' ward they would like to be at least 48 x 48 inches.  I am making a pattern I have done a few times; it is a Project Linus free pattern and it is ice cream cones paper pieced and alternate squares of bright fabric or cute patterned fabric.  Thanks to Carol, I love to paper piece now.  She was a secret santa to me years ago on the HGTV board and sent me a paper pieced booklet.  I have used it many times.

Amelia and Gabriel made it to Florida, so I hope they have a grand time.  It will be weird having an entire week without them.

I just gathered up many of my old quilting magazines, pattern books and some left over yarn balls and took them to my local senior center.  They welcome all of that stuff, so I hope somebody can use them.  I did not part with any of my fabric.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 23 ~ SAT MARCH 29

Cheryl, if your hospital has an infusion center check with them for quilt needs. I'm making them for ours, they are 50x60. I've made some with just fleece on the back, no batting, so they are lighter and drape around the patient better. It's a fun size to make and can do a variety of patterns and use up scraps.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 23 ~ SAT MARCH 29

It was such a beautiful day. I sat outside on the patio...76 degrees with a slight breeze. My Yoshino cherry tree looks beautiful. I hope the wind doesn't blow off all the blooms.

Judy, I have an appointment Friday and will find out then. I think it will start next week.

Janet, love the colors in this quilt. Will you hang it in your sewing room?

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 23 ~ SAT MARCH 29

EXCUSES, EXCUSES,....
PLEASE EXCUSE MARY FROM BEING ABSENT YESTERDAY.  SHE WAS IN BED WITH GRAMPS.

I HAVE AN ECHO SCHEDULED THIS AFTERNOON AND WE ARE GOING TO GET RAIN AND SNOW.  I HOPE IT STARTS LATER SO THERE IS MINIMAL WHEN WE HAVE TO DRIVE TO THE CITY.  I WOULD HATE TO HAVE TO RESCHEDULE.

LOVE YOUR QUILT JANET.  SO PRETTY.  WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THEM ALL?  ARE THEY USED OR GIVEN AS GIFTS OR ARE THEY WALL HANGINGS?

PATTY....THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA INSTEAD OF LAYERING.  JUST LINE WITH FLEECE.  THE THING WITH FLEECE THOUGH, IT CAN BE UNBEARABLY HOT.  I HAD A FLEECE JACKET THAT WAS TOO HOT FOR ME FOR FALL AND IT WAS TOO SHORT AND SNUG FOR WINTER. IT HUNG UNWORN IN MY CLOSET FOR YEARS.
MAYBE NOW THEY HAVE LIGHTWEIGHT FLEECES WHICH WOULD MAKE A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE I THINK.

DEVONNE.....WHAT A PRETTY TREE.  LOVE ALL THOSE BLOSSOMS.

THAT'S IT FROM MY CORNER OF THE WORLD.  STAY SAVE.  HUGS FOR YOU ALL.  QB S

Yes, the center is a panel. I'll measure it later. The circles are machine appliquéd.

Sandra, good luck with your Echo today. Hope the bad weather holds off until you get back home.

It's cooler today, raining and windy. Not much going on this week except my appointment Friday.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 23 ~ SAT MARCH 29

Afternoon y'all!

Mom has moved to the next rehab facility.  Today we had a care meeting.  To discuss, her likes, dislikes etc.  Meeting went well!  Just need the antibiotics to be done!  Then we will work on getting her back to her apartment.  Praying nothing else happens!

Luke is back working in Vicksburg.  He was called back last week and is cautious, but elated!

Others are doing great.

Simba goes to be fixed tomorrow.  Hopefully it will calm him down.  He is still very much a puppy.  He is not used to the freedom we give him.  He loves the yard!  He has treed a few squirrels....

Not much else happening in my little world!  Just trying to catch up on life.  Finally got St Patrick's decorations taken down,  Easter bins up but nothing has been put out!  I will get there.  Probably tomorrow while someone is at the vet!

Need to run.  I am so behind on everything!  I need to clear a few things off my plate!

Later my Friends!

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 23 ~ SAT MARCH 29

SANDRA I hope all went well with your appointment today, and the weather behaved for you. I guess it will be a while till you get the results, but good to hear you have more energy (((hugs)))

THERESA partial good news for you - at least your mum is getting her meds, and hopefully the rehab will be good. Such a lot going on for you, best wishes to poor Simba (((hugs)))

PATTY that was a good idea for CHERYL I must find out if our facilities want any quilts. I know we always took one for Dianne when she had to be there a while, mostly they prefer to use their own heated blankets, probably for hygiene reasons.

JANET that is a beautiful work, I love the centre, and I wondered if it was raw edge appliqué, the circles around are so pretty, and the border just perfect, was it a kit??

DEVONNE fingers crossed for you this week, I hope you hear about when, how long etc!!

Nothing happening here, I was sore last night, and no physio today, but heading there again tomorrow, then Megan and I are heading out, she wants to do some shopping at the mall, so I will go with her, she has driven a little the last 2 days, took Dean to the bus stop and dropped John to a one day course the company paid for him to do, both only local, John just 10 mins away, and no traffic.

When I called her today the dogs were barking, they had a delivery, a case of wine, Oscar of course had to have the least word and barked till the poor driver was gone LOL I said I would call around to bring it in, she can't lift that, then Gary was ringing, he'd seen the delivery arrive and want to  be sure she didn't try to lift it, Dean brought it in when he came home.

It's been dreary here to day, still warm but humid, but not good drying weather.
I have a quiche in the oven, I didn't feel like cooking a big meal tonight, they will have to make do with that.

I hope to get a good night's sleep tonight, this sciatica is not fun!!! And I am not patient LOL

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 23 ~ SAT MARCH 29

YOGI BERRA-ISMS.......
1.  I HAD A MONUMENTAL IDEA LAST NITE, BUT I DIDN'T LIKE IT.
2.  I NEVER PUT ON A PAIR OF SHOES UNTIL I'VE WORN THEM FIVE YEARS

ITS SUNNY AND IN THE 40S TODAY.

THE ECHO WENT WELL THO I HAD TO GET THE PROTEIN INTRAVENOUSLY BECAUSE MY HEART WALLS ARE A BIT THICK.  THEN IT WAS EASIER TO SEE.  I WILL GET RESULTS EITHER TOMORROW AT PRIMARY CARE OF ON APRIL 1ST WITH MY CARDIO DR.  WHATEVER, IT IS WHAT IT IS.

TODAY IS SUNNY AND BRITE AND IN ATHE 40S.  MY DAU TOLD ME SHE SAW 3 ACCIDENTS ON THE TURNPIKE ON HER WAY HOME YESTERDAY.  IT WAS VERY SLIPPERY ON THE 'PIKE' AND I SUPPOSE THERE ARE ALWAYS FOLKS WHO NEVER HEED THE 'SLOW FOR ICY CONDITIONS' SIGNS THAT BLINK ALL THE TIME AFTER A STORM.
SHE GOT HOME SAFELY, THANK GOODNESS.

THERESA.....IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU FOUND A GOOD PLACE FOR MOM DURING HER REHAB.  I HOPE IT ALL WORKS OUT WELL.
GOOD FOR LUKE GETTING BACK TO WORK.  THUMBS UP.
POOR SIMBA, I HOPE IT SLOWS HIM DOWN THOUGH I FOUND THAT ALL DOGS IN THEIR FIRST 2 YEARS ARE VERY SPRY AND ACTIVE, WITH OR WITHOUT THE HORMONES.

TRISH......SOUNDS LIKE OUR MEGAN IS TAKING IT EASY AS SHE SHOULD AND EVERYONE IS LOOKING OUT FOR HER.   I HOPE YOUR SHOPPING TRIP GOES WELL.

TODAY I PLAN TO MAKE A START ON WEEDING OUT MY CLOTHES IN THE WALK-IN CLOSET.  IT WILL SURELY MAKE ROOM FOR MORE STORAGE I CAN MOVE IN FROM MY BEDROOM. IT WILL BE A START ANYWAY.

NOTHING ELSE HAPPENING HERE.  I WISH YOU ALL A GOOD DAY.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 23 ~ SAT MARCH 29

Good Morning to everyone!!  It is very bright out this morning.  The sun is shining and everything is drying off.  It is 51*, going to be a lovely day.  Frank is moving around.  Well, I really don't have a thing to say this morning, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 23 ~ SAT MARCH 29

Good to hear you were able to get to your appointment SANDRA and your daughter got home safely. I didn't know you could get protein for heart thickening, learn something new every day LOL

BJ hope the rain has stopped for you for a while - still pretty cool there, and we are still getting warm days YUK!!

Megan and I went shopping for a little while, not too long, BUT Dean had told her about a small asian supermarket in the mall, so we ended up buying cooler bags and bringing home some interesting things. Pete loves Taro ice cream, he had it in Japan and Cambodia, hard to find here, but I got him a tub, plus some taro pastries, and some taro little bubble things in coconut milk. He's happy. I had a small taste, it's really good, just have to keep the Mr away from it.

Megan wanted him to choose new bowls for his birthday, he's been going back and forth on deciding for months. She THOUGHT she had talked him into a set, chose style, colour, motif etc, we could all put in and buy him for his birthday coming up, by the time he drove from her place to ours (less than 5 minutes ) he had talked himself out of them, she had emailed me all the details and was talking to me about it when he came in. Said he still wasn't sure that is what he wanted LOL

Honestly I thought she'd "blow a gasket" LOL He has a call coming in tomorrow form the CEO of the company to talk to him about it. No idea how that will help him decide, I think the guy will just want him to buy a set - any set. They are pricey so he really needs to be sure, - $675 for the set.

I had physio this morning, she did a little needling as well, still sore, but we'll see how I go tonight. I have been clearing out some books patterns etc from the sewing room, so  many pages I've thrown out, lots of books I have to give away, I'll take them on Friday to class, and maybe leave them for the other class on Saturday, then our Jane class on Sunday. Still have more to toss.
On the down side I still haven't found the scrap catcher from the overlocker, but I did find the overlocker workshop file I had for my old 3 thread overlocker AND my original guarantee form my Pfaff, I thought I got it in 2015, but it was Nov 2013. I knew it was old, still in very good condition, so I think it will outlast me, although if I start to use the overlocker more I might invest in the Bernina one it's so quiet and does a bit more than mine, although mine is very good. Plus this afternoon I cut up the spare pair of track pants I had bought for his sis, so I have a pattern now for her, I might get some fabric this weekend, just have to decide how to do the waistband. Maybe just a simple one in the same fabric with elastic threaded through. Keep it simple.
