Morning all
This is our last thread - I'll start more tomorrow night when you are all asleep, or you should be LOL
We just got back from dinner with Gary Megan, boys and Scott Cathy & girls, for Gary's birthday, 'tis the season for us LOL Megan is next week, and then Mothers Day. So we'll all be eating together for weekends together, we all get on really well, such a shame Gary's parents don't come, but we have fun without them anyway, sometimes they put a damper on everyone just by being there.
I had my sewing class today, it was good to sit and chat with the girls, I took handsewing only, it's English Paper piecing, NOT my favourite but I am getting better.
So good to hear your post BJ, you are getting so good at posting!!
SANDRA hope you got all your groceries, it's the putting away I hate, I move things and put the new to the back, so it takes longer, time for us to start thinking about a new kitchen I will get organised and get some ideas on cupboards and storage, I am restricted for where to put things with space and bench tops, but there has to be some good ideas out there, I'll start looking!
DEVONNE I really think I've had a kind of variant of covid, I am starting to feel better now, Cathy was telling me one of the girls had it too a while back, and the cough lingers, same symptoms, odd taste, tired and cold type symptoms, but not quite.
INDY hope that ML survived the visit with A, and she is just feeling a bit better having had someone actually listen to her and how she feels, that's half the battle!! She has lots of love and support from you and Bill, she'll be OK (((hugs)))
I am tired tonight, I need to get to bed, didn't get a lot of sleep last night, coughing on and off, it's not bad, just wakes me up.
I watched a bit of the Pope's funeral, I streamed it on youtube from the BBC, they translated Cardinal Re's speech, it was quite good. The guy did a really good job keeping the flow of words making sense.
They must have all been hot in the sun - funny to see some of the cardinals/priest with caps on, I don't like the open casket in the chapel like that, but I guess they know what they are doing. Sounds gross but I think they kind of wax the body to keep it viewable. We saw one of the Popes in the Vatican, he had been preserved in wax.
It will be interesting seeing the Conclave happening in another week or so, wonder how long they take to elect the new guy. Could be days or months even.
I am sorry not to make individual comments, thinking of all of you ((((hugs))))

Good morning all! Overslept, so will skip the gym today and get some stuff done, including sewing.
I’m working on a kit and the instructions are not good. The person who wrote them must have been standing on her head, with one eye closed, lo. So I put them away and figured it out like a puzzle. Now to sew the pieces together. I’ll not buy anything from that company again.
Back later

GGPOD MORNING!
TRISH, GLAD YOU ARE ON THE MEND. Hope continues. NJ always good when you post. Think of you and your family often.
Devone, take care of your self. Have really ENJOYED THE OHOTOS OF YOUR YARD. ONE OF THE GARDENERS ON TV WOULD CALL YARDS YARDEN. THIUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD TERN FIR YARDS WITH FLIWERS AND SHRUBS.. MY YOUNG AZALEAS ARE STARTING TO BLOOM. NOTHING COMPARED TO YOUR, THOUGH.
JANET, USED TO HATE DIRECTIONS THAT WERE HARD TO UNDERSTAND. YOU WILL FIGURE OUT. DID YOU GET TO GO TO PADUCAH? MISS THOSE TIMES.
HOPE ML WILL BE GETTING BETTER. HANG IN THERE.
OH, BETTER GO. IF NOT MENTIONED BY NAME, DOESN'T MEAN NOT CARING. I DI.
THINKING OF EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU.. PRAYERS...........

HQ tension is making me crazy, can’t get the top tension right. Consulting Ashley via text, watching videos. Had to walk away for a while.
Trish, my friend Barbara is my go to for Catholic questions. She said the cardinals vote for the new pope, and Francis appointed a whole lot of the cardinals, so a better chance of another liberal pope. She said a lot of horse trading goes on in the negotiations. She dreads the thought of going back to a real conservative pope. Honestly, not being Catholic, I never paid much attention til Francis, who I really liked.

Good Morning, I've been sneezing like crazy all morning!! It is 50 * outside so far. I really don't have a thing to say, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

CLASSIFIED ADS GONE WRONG......
1. FOR RENT: 6-ROOM HATED APARTMENT.
2. MAN, HONEST. WILL TAKE ANYTHING.
ITS ANOTHER RAINY DAY HERE. A GOOD DAY TO SLEEP LATE, WHICH I DID. I DOZED OFF AFTER SUPPER LAST NITE SO THAT MEANT I WAS UP WATCHING TV TIL AFTER 3 A.M. MADE FOR A LATER WAKING.
MY SON GOT EVERYTHING ON MY LIST BUT MESSED UP ONE THING. I NEEDED SOME BLACK SHARPIE MARKERS. I WANTED A THICK POINT BUT ALSO A COUPLE OF MEDIUM POINTS. HE GOT THE THICK ONES OK BUT FOR THE OTHERS HE BOUGHT ME WERE SHARPIE ROLLER PENS. WELL, I REALLY LIKE THEM AS PENS, BUT I WANTED MARKERS. IT WILL GO ON MY LIST FOR NEXT TIME SO NO PROBLEM.
CATHERINE'S PLATES ON UTUBE MADE A HOBO CASSEROLE THIS WEEK. IT LOOKS LIKE A WINNER TO ME SO I WROTE IT DOWN AND WILL TRY IT. I LIKE A GOOD CASSEROLE AND THIS IS MADE WITH GROUND BEEF AND MANDARIN-SLICED POTATOES.
I PLANNED TO BAG AND FREEZE MY MEATS TODAY AND MAYBE GET SOME SEWING DONE AND SOME JIGSAWING. LOOKED AT MY TV LIST AND SAW I HAD RECORDED SEVERAL PROGRAMS WHICH I NEED TO WATCH AND CLEAR FROM MY LIST. I ALREADY HAVE NEARLY 80 % SAVED WITH FAVORITE SHOWS AND MOVIES SO NEED TO CLEAR OFF THESE PROGRAMS TO MAKE ROOM FOR NEW RECORDINGS. I THINK I MAY END UP WATCHING LOTS OF TV TODAY AND SNACKING. A GOOD WAY TO SPEND A LAZY DAY.
STAY SAFE MY FRIENDS. HUGS, QB S

Nothing happening here. I finished the big Sunday crossword. Got all but three answers. Guess Howard is going to snooze the day away in his chair. It's sunny and pretty, but quite chilly outside.
I never made it to the closest JoAnn's here. Hadn't been in several years, so not much in my thoughts and I need nothing. However, it's a bit sad as one by one the stores I shopped in are folding. We still have a Hobby Lobby in town but I never go there. There truly are seasons in life and my season for shopping and bringing anything unnecessary is pretty much over.
Well, I need to take that back! I must admit that on our trips to Walmart for our Rxs, and the groceries we pick up, the way to the dairy products and the restroom is right by the clearance stuff. Both of us browse that aisle for a few minutes and I treat myself to something if I want it.
And it makes me happy. Soooo
Trish, sorry you're struggling a bit with your recovery. The difference between the time THAT took when we were younger seems quite apparent. I know Covid or any of its changes takes longer than the old viruses we used to get but I think age makes a difference, too.
Sounds like you have some fun times coming up. Cooler weather, too, for those.
We're having Wagner's ribs for supper. Wagner's is a local restaurant and that's their specialty. They also prepare them and market them to the local grocery stores. Quite pricey but every 3 mos. or so, they run a special for $9.95l so we got some.
Just got a text from ML. Andrew's on the train back to Chicago. He can take a bus or the el or an Uber if he's in a hurry from the station. She said she only slept 2 hrs. last night so she's upset. I suggested maybe a warm shower at bedtime. Surely she knows that, but I know she usually showers in the morning. One good thing...the psychiatrist told her she can text her anytime so she doesn't have to wait until her next appt. Arrgh!

Janet, replied to your message.
I posted on our local neighborhood app for help to dig holes for my rose bushes and I got a lot of replies. One guy came and did it for free, but I gave him $20. His wife had cancer in 2010 and is in remission.
The fatigue after radiation has hit hard this weekend. And I thought I knew what fatigue was. It hit me when the grocery order arrived. Good timing! I read it can last 2 to 3 months. I certainly hope not. Also read some people have chronic fatigue after radiation that never goes away...yikes!
Judy, when ML doesn't sleep at night, is she able to get a long day nap in? The ribs sound delicious. I haven't had ribs in years.
Greg had a parenting question. The question was "how do I limit Carter's time on the computer in his room?" They do family time downstairs, but Carter wants to stay in his room. I did tell him there needs to be a healthy balance. How he will get that, I don't know. Yes, Carter is a teenager! He will be 14 in September. Wants to wear his hair longer, be more independent, all the teenage stuff, lol. Greg limits his time to 2 hours every night on the computer, yet his Mom doesn't limit his time. I think that is plenty of time
Holly, bless your heart. Was Ashley able to help? Another person that might be able to help you is Quiltaholic (Thearica Burroughs). Are you a member of Circle of Friends on Facebook?

Devonne, with Ashley and the HQ company videos, I know what the problem is, I just can’t get the setting right. I unthreaded her, and walked away, I’ll try again tomorrow. I switched to crocheting for the day. Yes, I’m in the COF Facebook group.
Problems we didn’t have when our kids were young! I think 2 hours is fine, also. Depending on Carter’s devices, can Greg shut down the WiFi? Or confiscate the devices at a certain time? Parental controls? LOL, the biggest issue I had was Manda reading by the light of the electric blanket controls, which she told me years later.

Evening y'all!
Mom was up in a Wheelchair this week. Lasted a good hour! That's good progress. She left the room for that hour and got to people watch, her favorite thing these days! She also had a cupcake, and I brought her some strawberries that she devoured! Biggest issue is getting her to take her meds! I keep making her drink then show me her mouth, otherwise she spits the pills out when the nurse leaves!
Simba is adapting to life here! He loves his big yard and his freedom. His trying to "breakout" seems to have gone the way of the Do-Do! He gets frequent walks which probably satisfies that urge! He is a sweet baby!
Luke is still working. He has to resubmit his Federal resume and it can be no longer that 2 pages! OK! For Federal jobs, the longer the resume the better, so a change, now he has to rewrite, what he took a semester class to learn to write in the first place!
Bought tomato and pepper plants today. Last weekend was rosemary, cherry tomatoes, and marigolds! Last weeks were already planted and we planted todays purchase. I also had some of mom's plants here, and took the time to repot them. I managed to kill one. No big deal, it was a Peace lily, it was hidden so I missed watering it for several weeks! Oops! The other was from my sisters funeral and it was a Pothos, and Peace Lily mix. Both are in separate pots, and seem to be happier! I had hubby drill a hole in on pot so it could drain, worked great. Not the first time we have done this, drilling the hole thing. I have beautiful pots that have no way to drain so I can't put things in them. Now I can.
Need to go, puppy is ready for bed and is letting us know. We know who rules this roost!
Later my Friends!

THERESA you have so much going on, is it possible for Luke to just copy and paste most of his resume, so much work for him, they need the same information I would assume? So glad to hear your mum was able to get into a chair for a while an people watch, just a small thing for a bit of joy (((hugs)))
SANDRA looking forward to hearing about your report on the new cassy. I am always on the lookout for something new! I still haven't watched the new Britbox, the Mr has found the old Prime Suspect series on it, with Helen Mirren, I have seen them all so trying to find something for me.
JANET your kit sounds like my Alice Wonderland book, gorgeous quilt, awful instructions!! So frustrating, especially when the book was so expensive, really feel for all the newbies she has aimed the book at with the cost of the Tana Lawn from Liberty she has designed the patten for - yikes, so much and they have to redo quite a few blocks, at least I got all my Tilda on sale, not as fine as the lawn, but it works!
HOLLY sorry about the frustration on the longarm, they are fussy little things aren't they? Make sure you have the same type/weight thread on top and bottom, Julie says that is the only thing she HAS to do, and she prefers the same colour, just in case a few threads show through, hers have never done that though, And the foot needs to be a certain position for threading through the tension doesn't it? Like the normal machines, you can lower the foot and the tension takes up and doesn't slide through. That's about as much as I know LOL
INDY Can ML nap a little, she probably feels like if she does she won't sleep though, it's one of those darned if you do situations, she should call and find out what the next step is from the Dr, sounds like it's the right Dr for her at least!! I am glad Andrew got away OK, he reminds me so much of John, and I think they are probably the same height now - giants to us LOL
STRINGS & DEVONNE I'm getting lots better thank you just the wretched coughing, and it will probably last a while yet, fingers crossed its not too bad tonight and I can get a few hours good sleep
DEVONNE so sorry about the fatigue, is there anything they can do for that, maybe a tonic of sorts? So hard when you went through it all with relativley little side effects. My brother is the same, has had nothing till now, and now he spends 1/2 his week sleeping - they are operating in June, taking 60% of his liver, and say it will regenerate in a few months, I think that's optimistic, but they are hopeful.
I spent today cleaning as usual, and also getting another block of English paper pricing prepped, had most of it done but took the last row off and ready another colour, it looks much better, the last part of the day has been spent going through all the blocks of foundation piecing and writing the colours onto the papers, it will make it faster when I do it later.
I also changed up a few colours for blocks as I have allocated almost all of them now, just some of the ones with 5 or 6 colours I haven't decided.
It's fun playing with fabric anyway isn't
Megan went back to work today, she said she is so tired, and part way through a meeting she said "stop a minute, I have no idea what you are talking about, my brain is still away " she said her friend Danny caught her eye to signal that SHE had no idea what they were talking about either, she just kept quiet LOL
Time for me to close down, we have our election on Saturday, and I have had texts from a few parties today - GRRR!!! apparently many people are getting them, but as it's an election they are not considered spam!! Well they get deleted and blocked ASAP by me anyway. I'll glad when it's over - just a few more days, and we have a media blockout usually from the Wed before the election, they still seem to get their texts through though.

Good Morning to everyone!! We have quite a windy day, today. It is really blowing outside. I seem to have quite a headache today, not sure why!! I think I'll go lay down for a bit and see if that helps!!!
I still have a huge bruise on my right arm, guess I'll survive though. Well, I guess I'll quit here and go rest. Have a wonderful day, everyone. BJ.

Afternoon y'all!
Trish, he has it on his laptop, just taking it and some cut and paste, some rewording to shorten it. Lots of finagling going on there!
Had a dentist appointment this morning, cleaning, no cavities! Then on to my walk. I pass the park on the way to the dentist, thus it is on my way home! Works great!
Got a call as I was leaving the park. My mom is having bad skin breakdown. I knew she wasn't eating well since the staff is busy and cannot always cut up her food, or set her up to eat. I do that when I am there for meals. They suggested Hospice. Not the first time I have heard this. I agreed, which means she will get more one on one, hopefully some improvement. I am aware she will not return to where she was, health wise, before all this started. I don't know that she will ever return to her apartment. So just trying to figure it all out.
Simba was not happy with me this morning. Because of my dentist appointment I couldn't take him on our walk. Hubby takes him after Simba eats, and I take him on a short walk after I eat. He let me know he wanted to go on a walk. He is so funny. It's almost like he is talking to us with the howls. They are not loud, just funny!
Not much else, need to get ready to go see mom!
Later my Friends!

Theresa, hospice provides so many services! Sam was under hospice for several months before she died.
Trish, I get a lot of political spam texts. One party in Texas which is 1500 miles from here, thinks my name is Walter and is always wanting to survey me!
it’s nice and sunny here, mid 70’s. I had an NP appt, and we went to lunch after at the diner. So plenty of leftovers!

Lots going on here.
Devonne…I saw the PM and replied.
Trish- sorry you’ve been ill but maybe it’s nearing the end.
Sandra- I’m impressed that your son is doing so well with your shopping.
Linda -nope, never been to Paducah…maybe the AQS show in Lancaster this Sept.
Holly- good, luck with the HQ. I send all of my quilts to be quilted and bound. I just sent 2 more last week.
Teresa- maybe Hosoice is the answer. Sorry 😞
Judy- ribs sound good.
Off to make dinner.

Theresa, Hospice sounds like the right way to go. So many worries for you. How is the lemon tree doing?
Need to get out there and water my new rose bushes before it gets dark.

Trish, hope you feel better soon. A nagging cough is so irritating. Aaron and Dean did not feel well for a day or two, but now both have lingering coughs...wonder if it was a version of covid? Neither was ill, just tired and coughing and thought they were getting a spring cold. The tree pollen is terrible right now. I us a nasal spray all year long and now I take a Claritin too to combat the allergens. I will stop the pill after a couple of weeks and the trees/bushes are out out in bloom.
We have a giant silver maple tree in the front yard and it seems to be shedding it's bark. Weird for sure. The tree bark underneath the shedding bark seems solid, but I think we will contact a tree service to check it out. I really would hate to cut the tree down as it puts such nice shade on the house.
I stopped by my local Joanns the other day too, and it was down to the shelving also. Some decorative ribbons and a few odd silky fabrics. I guess most of the inventory went to the headquarters in Hudson, which is about 30 or 35 minutes from me. Kelli and I used to go up there since they had a huge store. Amelia needed some fleece to make one of those tied blankets for her Girl Scout meeting. I was not sure where to find fleece now, but did find some at Walmart. She only needed 1 yard of two different fabrics, but the packaged fleece there was 1.5 yards each, so now I have 1/2 yards of fleece that I will most likely never use. I used to make doll blankets with it but Amelia is beyond that age now.
Theresa, prayers for your mom.
I have a dental cleaning in the morning and a follow up exam with my retina surgeon, so that will take my day. It is supposed to be thunder storms all day, so that won't be much fun driving and getting in and out of the car.
