Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

Just posted above in case someone was in late  and no thread available!! LOL

INDY I do hope you feel better soon, I know how you feel when you don't want anything in particular, but you know what you DON'T want, Megan is going through similar, although she is feeling better last 2 days, that crying it out helped a lot LOL

MARYLOU I feel for GAY, used cars are an exorbitant price here too, very hard to get something you like, I love my little Hyundi, if she could go smaller she could probably get something new, even the mr loves driving my car, and Julie has a Mazda 3, and her hubby loves driving it too. So though they are smaller, they are very comfy.

SANDRA I wish you could get your mojo back too, I lost mine for quilting, I did a class today on my overlocker, it was making a top, t-shirt type one, don't like the fabric, and will NOT wear it out anywhere, but I learnt a few tricks, I was wanting to do a series of "how to" on small pieces, and she showed how to on the shirt, but I learnt about threading, and some tips there also so it was worth it, also how to move my 'cutter' and  few other things, I can't find my toolkit, so couldn't remove one of the needles, so had to improvise, and the top only needs to be topstitched, on sleeves and neck, and hemmed.

DEVONNE so sorry you found one of the side effects!! And it had to be insomnia of course, I have it and I sleep only a few hours, then awake and sleep a few more. I've tried everything, you can ask your Drs about Melatonin, and you can also try cherry juice, you can get in more readily there than here, it's frightfully expensive here. Being a juice it's natural and might help.

THERESA good for you to tell them to wait, they can just wait or find somewhere really good themselves, they caused the problem (well not them but health care people ) so they should give loads of help to fix it ((((hugs))))
On SANDRA'S post there is a site about posting images, and I think there is a tutorial somewhere, have a look in Food or Books on the general page.

It's been roasting all day, the a/c is on, it's been such high temps the last few days, and well into the night, the a/c is on till around 1am, supposedly we are getting a cool change around 2-3am, can't wait LOL
I just wish we had cooler nights, makes a difference when you can pull up a light quilt, instead of lying on top of the covers LOL

See you tomorrow.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

Hi. Working on straightening up my studio.  I bought another table and need to do some rearranging. Plus sort, label my project totes.  Monumental task…there are about 15 all sizes in my studio and another 20 in my walk in closets. 😵‍💫🤪

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

MISPELLINGS......
AFTER CONSUMING MY MOTHER'S VITALS, I WENT HAPPILY TO BED.

ITS MIGHT CLOUDY OUT THERE BUT IN THE 50S TODAY.  THAT STORM WILL BE HITTING US EVENTUALLY.

LINDA......I HAVE A HUSQUVANA SO IT NEVER NEEDS OILING.  I'VE HAD IT SINCE 2004 AND IT RUNS LIKE A DREAM.
SORRY I CAN'T HELP WITH FINDING A CHEAPER REPAIR PLACE.

CHERYL......I'M NOT INTO SPORTS THESE DAYS.  I USED TO WATCH BASEBALL FOLLOWING MY RED SOX, BUT AFTER THEY TRADED AWAY ALL MY FAVORITES, I DESERTED THE GAME.  NO SPORTS FOR ME.

DEVONNE.......I USED A SMALLER DISH, 9 BY 9, FOR MY LATEST CASSEROLE AND STILL WAS ABLE TO FEED 2 OTHERS BUT NOT SO MUCH LEFTOVERS FOR ME TO GET THRU.  I LOVE IT.  AND IT WILL SAVE ME MONEY.  WHEN MY SON IS EXPECTED, I CAN MAKE THE 9 BY 13 SIZE TO SHARE.

THERESA........SIMBA IS DOING WELL, NOT BEING SCARED BY LOUD NOISES.  GOOD TO HEAR.
I HOPE YOU GET MOM INTO A GOOD PLACE THIS TIME.  YOU TWO HAVE BEEN HAVING A TERRIBLE TIME WITH THAT.  CROSSING MY FINGERS FOR YOU.

I MADE THE LATEST RECIPE OF CASSEROLE.  I CALL IT MY EZ UNIVERSAL 4-LAYER CASSEROLE.  ITS SIMPLE TO MAKE AND YOU CAN USE INGREDIENTS YOU USUALLY HAVE ON HAND.  I WILL POST IT ON MY BLOG SOON.  I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN.

TODAY IS MY DAY OF REST SO NO COOKING OR HOUSEWORK.  I PLAN TO WATCH A LOT OF MOVIES ON TV TODAY AND MAYBE DO SOME READING.  I LOVE SUNDAYS.
STAY SAFE MY FRIENDS.  HUGS FOR YOU ALL, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

It was really stormy here throughout the night with heavy winds and rain. I don't think Georgia had any deaths, just downed trees and some damage to structures.

Trish, I looked at the cherry juice but it has way too much sugar and too many carbs. Even the one made by Ocean Spray that is unsweetened, still has 24g of sugar and 34g carbs. I am cutting back on my carbs and sugar intake.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

Thanks, QB.  That looks good and easy.  I will be making it whenever I ever get to the store.  I still haven't felt up to that chore, so we're still making do.  He went for Chick Fil A last evening.

But, I do have a 1# pkg. of frozen shrimp to saute for supper.  I just thaw, peel, and blot it very well.  Melt a bit of EVOO and butter, together.  When hot, lay each shrimp in it and saute on first  side.  Turn over to do the  other side, sprinkling  the first side with Old Bay seasoning. Not too much.   (we love the taste of it)    Five minutes, tops so they don't overcook.  After the 1st side, you don't HAVE to individually turn them, just by stirring well, they'll finish cooking.  But, I being a bit OCD, turn them, each.  This is one pound for two people and they fit perfectly in a large non-stick skillet.   Any side, any veg, anything goes with it and Howard thinks anything shrimp is the best!

We are getting snow.  The yard, deck and grill are all covered.  Talk about March Madness!   ETA:  Snow's quit and almost melted!

Theresa's fire story reminded me...and I hope I'm not repeating.  I looked back and couldn't find if I'd posted this. So, here goes:
The two oldest boys, next door, rang the doorbell Fri. afternoon. Their mother sent them over because there was a lot of smoke on the slight ridge behind their house,  our house and our back yard neighbor's.  So, H. went with them and she had called 911 and the other neighbor who was on his way to town and he came right back home. Turns out, the man living in a house in the woods just a bit over the ridge decided, against his wife's wishes, to burn some boxes and leaves, then went inside to change a light socket or such, and the fire got out of hand.  The neighbor got out his tractor with a bucket and he cleared the area around the fire and had it mostly under control when a small fire truck with a tank and hose and several volunteer firemen  arrived and finished putting it out and soaking down the woods around.  The kicker, of course, and there's always something, it was one of the windiest days we've had with warnings coming all the time not to burn anything. (People around here love to burn even tho there's a county ordinance against burning!! ) The bonehead who did this was embarrassed and his wife kept saying, "I told him not to!"  Anyway, it all turned out okay and we do all make mistakes!
But, Howard, who needed  to go with the scared little boys, was having  a bit of a COPD flareup so standing for a long, long time  outside in the smoke wasn't the best for him. He should have come back home, but like anybody, he was caught up in the drama of it all.

Hope you all have a nice week.  Had some bad, damaging storms around the area.  Pics in the paper today.  Springs is so welcome but with it comes these storms.
Indy

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

Evening y'all!

No issues from last nights storm.  Simba did great.  Thunder and lightening started well before midnight!  We slept through most of it!

Lemon tree loved the rain.  It's loaded with buds! We put it on the deck yesterday!

Mom is doing as well as can be expected.  Nothing from the docs or case manager today.  That's a good thing.  Did not interrupt my day and I got stuff accomplished!

Exciting day for us.  Target, to get a replacement mouse for my laptop.  It's so nice to be able to scroll again!  Then Home Depot for more wire to put on the inside of our fence to keep Simba in!  Plus a couple other things we needed.  Looked at Dogwood trees, we still need to go to Lowes!  Then an exciting trip to Publix, we still have that bad habit of needing to eat!  Then Pike's Nursery to look at more trees.  We are getting a feel for what is out there for us!

After all that we came home, hubby gave Simba a bath, with warm water in buckets like he did for Bandit.  Simba did not fight it, seemed to enjoy it!  His previous owner used a garden hose, so cold water bath!

Hubby had to fix another part of the fence, we found it before Simba did!  So I had to bring Simba in so he would not get upset by Todd going outside the fence!  Area fixed!  I went to see mom and hubby put up more wire.  I went to walk the park a bit after my visit.  Just needed it!

Pollen is in full swing, cars are getting the green coating!  Rain helped a bit, but not enough!  Jonquils and yellow bells are in full bloom, in my yard.  Tulip tree is almost done and a few blooms on the Azaleas!  Daylilies are coming up and the deer are snacking.  Guess more deer repellent!

Nothing else exciting!  Kinda boring here!  Liking boring!

I need to download pictures to my laptop to post Simba pictures.

Later my Friends!

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

We never got the storm here that Linda was talking about. Some wind gusts and a quick shower.
Linda - call Fork Mountain Quilting and ask for Todd.  He does repairs, cleaning etc on most machines.  He seems reasonable.
My Pfaff doesn’t need oiling, it’s a sealed unit.  Very convenient.

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES......
1.  MAN HELD OVER GIANT L.A. BRUSH FIRE.
2.  TRAFFIC DEAD RISE SLOWLY.

ITS RAIN, RAIN, RAIN HERE.  EXPECTED THROUGHOUT THE DAY. BUT IN THE 50S.

NOT MUCH PLANNED FOR TODAY.  MAYBE I'LL MAKE A POT OF MASHED POTATOES.  I HAVE STEAK DEFROSTED SO THAT WOULD GO GOOD TOGETHER.  I WILL DECIDE LATER.

WISHING YOU ALL A  GOOD DAY.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

I went to the store at 6 pm last night, as I needed italian bread to make a homemade pizza. Got home and no bread in my bag! They should give you the item and a refund if you have to make a second trip.

I'm working on a spare bedroom that has become a catch all room. Didn't take as long as I thought it would. Looks so much better.

Tomorrow I go for my tattoo mapping for the radiation treatments. I read on the internet this is done by a needle and it's permanent. I'm glad only the left side has to be done!

Happy St. Patricks Day. I don't have on green, but there is no one here to pinch me, lol!

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

Devonne, I forgot to wear green also.  Well...I guess there is a little on the flower leaves on my t shirt, so I guess that counts.  We do not partake in the St Paddy's Day stuff.

We had some really heavy rain and some high winds.  Lots of branches down, but that was all.  Cool and sunny today so it seems warmer than it really is right now.

I have been making small kid sized quilts but nothing difficult; lots of easy patterns or scraps.  Nothing that takes a lot of brain power or figuring.  Plus, I don't have to choose colors, which is difficult for me.  Scrappy works.  I did do a scrappy butterfly one and will make another.  Not sure if I posted a picture, but it was cute.

I used to take my finished quilts to Joann's and Project Linus would pick them up.  I need to email the Project Linus rep in my area and see if she has a different drop off point.  I have 10 small quilts ready to go.

Sandra, I make a dish very similar to your 4 layer one, but I put a prepared box of Stove Top stuffing or make some stuffing from the packaged bread cubes, on the top.  Dean loves it and it is EASY.  Speaking of easy, I made scrambled eggs and toast for supper as Dean is not feeling the greatest.  It is unusual for him to get sick, but he was around Aaron and must have picked up a bug.  He does not want to eat when he doesn't feel well.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

ORDER IN THE COURT......
1.  Q.  JUST WHAT DID YOU DO TO PREVENT THE ACCIDENT?
     A.   I CLOSED MY EYES AND SCREAMED AS LOUD AS I COULD.

2.  Q.  WHERE WERE YOU ON THE BIKE AT THAT TIME?
     A. ON THE SEAT.
     Q.  I MEAN WHERE IS THE STREET?

ITS SUNNY AND BRITE AND IN THE 50S HERE TODAY.

ITS A SPECIAL DAY FOR MTNGAL MARILYN TODAY.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL.  WISHING YOU A FINE DAY.

CHERYL........I HOPE YOU FIND A GOOD SOURCE FOR ALL YOUR QUILTS YOU ARE MAKING.  ITS A GOOD THING AND SHOULD BE CARRIED ON.

I DID SOME SEWING YESTERDAY.  I SHOULD HAVE STAYED AWAY.  I MESSED UP AND COULD NOT REMOVE THE FABRIC SO HAD TO SEW A LARGER PIECE ATOP IT.  IT MADE FOR AN OVERSIZED PATCH OF BLACK AT THE CARDINAL'S THROAT, BUT ITS THE BEST I COULD DO.   I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE STAYED AWAY ANOTHER DAY.  I SHOWED IT TO MY NEIGHBOR AND SHE'S OK WITH IT SO ONWARD AND UPWARD.  I STILL HAVE BORDERS, LAYERING, QUILTING, AND BINDING TO WORK ON.  I WILL TAKE IT SLOWLY TIL I GET BACK INTO THE SWING OF THINGS.

I MADE NEW YORK SIRLOIN FOR SUPPER LAST NITE WITH MASHED POTATOES.  I HAD A CRAVING FOR THE MASHED AND JUST HAD TO MAKE SOME.  I HAVE ENOUGH LEFTOVERS FOR TODAY SO I DO NOT HAVE TO COOK AGAIN.

WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

Good Morning!  I'm not feeling very bright this morning, but it is lovely outside, so that helps a little!!  It's 40* and the sun is shining.  The sky is beautifully blue and it is still, not a leaf is stirring.

I really don't have a thing to say today, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

I just spent half an hr. outside in the 70 degree -weather.  A bit windy so the birds were rather quiet unlike the other warm and still day they were so joyous.  Howard has gotten my virus just as I'm getting over it and is feeling punk.
We did go to the grocery yesterday, finally.  I drove both ways and thought I had him convinced to stay in the car and read while I shopped.  Well, I didn't and he insisted on going in.  MY plan was for me to call him when I was ready to check out so he could fool with the digital coupons on his phone that I don't know how to do.  Oh well, nothing different than our usual and we  saved $28 by using them.

And, I hear you, Devonne... it's so maddening when that happens, even more so when it's the thing you actually drove there for.   We saved that $$ but got overcharged $5 for a bag of chips we didn't buy so that means another trip back to get that refunded.  One of our groceries gives you back a double refund if you ever get meat that is spoiled when you get it home.  Hope your tattoo mapping went okay, today.  Did someone take you?

Theresa, it's good to hear you and Todd being able to do just regular living things.  Sweet that Simba liked his bath okay.  It's awful when they fight you and everybody gets soaked.  My little Fancy loved hers...in the kitchen sink.  Once I learned to face her away from me and didn't get water in her eyes, she was good as gold.  I can't imagine flowers yet but love to hear about yours.   We don't have that amount of pollen up here.  Ours is  mostly undetectable except our noses know.
QB, sorry about your fabric glitch and nice of you to show your "client" (I know she's not...)
I pawed through some of my old linens collection.  Would so like to figure out some hand sewing project for them.  I've seen lots of ideas, but still can't quite put my finger on it.  It's a shame they're just lying in drawers.  I guess the secret is to jump in and do something!

Well, Howard's appetite seems okay!  He asks me, everyday, what's for supper. Today, either 4 leftover shrimp and 1 PC of fried chicken from yesterday or salmon.  I didn't mention the salmon.  Would like to use up the other, along with leftover mashed and corn.  We'll see,,,

Have a good evening and sweet dreams.
Indy

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

The mapping appt. was quite a surprise today. It only took 20 minutes and they don't do tattoos any more. Yes, I read that on the internet, lol!  My appt. was at 1:00, I was back in my little town and in McD's drive thru by 2:10.

Gary and Emily bought another mini Australian Shepherd from the same breeder they got Maverick from. They named him Milo and got him yesterday.

Greg is thinking about going on a different kind of trip next year to celebrate Carter graduating from the 8th grade....to JAPAN! He's never been overseas, none of us have. He was telling me about their train system and how you need to know how it works before going.
