Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 MARCH ~ SAT MARCH 15

Happy belated birthday to you, Patty.  I'm often a day late and a dollar short...Hope you did something special.

Also, Happy Anniversary, Cheryl and Dean.  Same excuse as  above... Your history sounds special and sweet.  Are you planning to have a wingding next year for your 50th?   And Bosco looks very regal. His marled or brindle coloring is beautiful. Thanks for the pic.

I'm feeling somewhat better.  Trish it isn't flu--I'm not that sick.  Took some Tessalon from last time for the cough which increased yesterday and which helped.  But, we must make a trip to the grocery.  Can't find a thing to munch on let alone make a meal from.  And that meal this evening will be their fried chicken.  I'm in a terrible slump for cooking.  Tired of everything, lazy and want to do as little as possible, nothing tastes good, wah wah wah!

I agree, Trish.  Only seldom get McD's.  Westville, the tiny village closest here, has McD's and a new Taco Bell, neither of which is my favorite.  Oh well, I love country living, sooooo...
Westville was established in 1850. I went to it's centennial when I was a kid.   It has some very old bldgs. an old Carnegie library and it does have a Dairy Queen, which I forgot about and of course,Howard dislikes, wouldn't you know.

It's sunny and in the 70s today, so getting out for groceries will be fun..."funner" than other temps and weather we could have in mid-March.

Theresa, someday this nightmare will be over for you.  Your tenacity and love for your Mom is awesome.  Such as it is, we're all behind you and pulling for you.  Do take care of yourself and enjoy your new fur baby.  He sound like a winner.  Sometime, when you have a minute could we see a pic of him?  No pressure, just sometime...

I'd better go.  I've been asked what I'm doing.  I've fibbed a bit and said writing a "short" post to you all.  Oh well, someone's short is another one's long.

Isn't it funny how something can spark a memory?  As I was reading Judy's post and saw the word "funner" it reminded me of something my baby brother said when he was in kindergarten.  The class was going on a field trip of some sort and Mom was considering going as a chaperone.  Ross said "it will be funner if you don't go."

Good Morning to everyone!!  It is pouring down rain today here, but Tracy and I  are going out.  We are going to Conway, just a few feet from where we used to live (many long years ago)!  The church is having a sale.  It is 42* outside!

Well, I must quit as my mind isn't working very well.  Hope everyone is doing fine.  BJ.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 MARCH ~ SAT MARCH 15

I'm still moping around here.  Managed to shower and wash my hair, so I feel better.  Howard is going for the 3rd time to get us something for supper.  He WILL NOT help me pick which I would like since nothing sounds good.  Maybe I should just be thankful for that, huh?'
Janet, I know how you felt a few weeks ago.

Mary Lou, "out of the mouths of kids"...

Theresa, I sent you a PM.

Going to read my book in peace and quiet.  Howard is starting the long saga of March Madness  basketball, upstairs for now.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 MARCH ~ SAT MARCH 15

I sat outside for a while today and watched the trees sway back and forth in the wind.  It is pretty warm, 60 degrees, but expected to have high winds and cooler tonight.   The Mississippi and Alabama areas seem to be getting hit hard once again with tornadoes.  Prayers for those in the path.

Judy, hope you feel better soon.  Aaron said he is feeling terrible today, so he must have picked up a bug.  His immune system is very weak and he seems to get anything and everything that comes along.  I hate March Madness; I don't even like basketball at all.

We had left overs for supper (beef tips in gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans) and it was just as good today as yesterday.  Now I am done with it.  Two days in a row is plenty for me.

Amelia and Gabriel asked for crab legs and shrimp, so I told them I would make it tomorrow for lunch after church.  Aaron does not like seafood of any sort, so he can just relax at home.  I made the crab legs in my instant pot last time and they came out great, so will do that again.  My house stinks all day, but the kids love the crab, so I make it.

I tried to listen to an audio book today.  I found myself looking around and my mind wanders, so I missed most of it.    I guess I need a "real" book or an ebook.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 MARCH ~ SAT MARCH 15

I'm watching the weather rolling in from Alabama, so I hope it continues to go north from Birmingham to Chattanooga. Looks bad in Alabama and it's getting close to me. Heard 19 people have died in Missouri, Arkansas and Texas.

Patty, I thought I had wished you happy birthday...I know I was typing it, lol. Happy belated birthday!

I do like college basketball and March Madness! It's my favorite, but I'm from Kentucky, basketball kingdom, lol!

Cheryl, sometimes meals are better the next day, especially meatloaf and pinto beans, lol. I'm with Aaron, not a seafood fan. Happy belated anniversary.

It's been 1 month and 8 days since I started Tamoxifen and I have my first side effect...insomnia. Looked it up and it's on the list of side effects! I am so sleepy, but I will wait so I can get on a regular routine and hope that helps.

Judy, I got an apple pie at McD's last month and it was warm and delicious! I haven't had one of those in years.

Sandra, you can buy smaller casserole dishes just about anywhere. I saw one today that was 7.5". I've seen them much smaller than that. Your neighbors wouldn't be too happy, but would save on the grocery bill, lol.

Marylou, did your SIL pick out a vehicle? I'm in the same boat. Limited budget and not sure what I want...another SUV or a car. Greg said I wouldn't be happy with a car since I'm used to sitting higher in an SUV. I just need something I can get in and out of easily. So many options out there and I want to pay cash for whatever I get. Need to save a little more money before we go shopping. Hopefully, it will be after radiation is over.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 MARCH ~ SAT MARCH 15

Evening y'all!

Waiting on the storm.  It seems to have picked up energy as it is moving.  This morning it looked as though all we would get was scattered showers.  Now it looks like a full blown storm.  We will see how Simba manages a storm.  He handled the Firetruck in the neighborhood without issue.

I will either send Sandra or Carol pictures of Simba or try to figure it out again.  Been a while since I posted a picture.  I have it written somewhere!

Luke was originally in the potential TORCON 7 swath and had no issues!  We are in a TORCON 5 swath, should start around Midnight!

I am getting major pressure from the docs about making a decision on where to put mom for the IV antibiotics.  I refuse to put her in a place that even Medicare deems bad!  I made a decision today and left a voicemail for the care manager I have been working with.  Got a call from the weekend care manager and told her to stop pressuring me.  The more I have to answer the phone about it the less time I have to do the research.  I am not ready to kill my mom off by placing her where I wouldn't even put my worst enemy!

Firetruck story:  We have carriage homes behind our subdivision.  Actually they have a different HOA but are part of the subdivision.   We were doing our evening walk and saw the truck back there with lights flashing.  Some brush had caught fire behind the houses, and one of the neighbors spotted the heavy smoke and called 911.  No clue as to how the fire was started.  Simba did get to meet a lot of people, he loved every pet he got!

Going to go now!  On Patrol Live is on, I love that show.  They show a lot of Richland County, where mom was still living, and I mostly grew up.  Hubby and I try to identify where they are, along with the Clayton County police that the show follows.  Clayton County is south of Atlanta!  We love it!  People on the show are sometimes so stupid it's funny!

Later my Friends!

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 MARCH ~ SAT MARCH 15

Devonne, no Gay hasn’t yet bought a vehicle but has realized that she is going to have to settle for a smaller one than she originally was looking for. She has a Yukon now, used to have a Suburban and really was hoping for something that size again but even one that is 7 years old and has 150,000 miles on it is priced $25,000!!!  She said she feels safer in a big vehicle.

I was awake until about 12:30 watching storm coverage on TV until my power went off. They had been giving lots of tornado warnings but none real close to me. Apparently that changed later because a church and several homes were damaged about 7-8 miles from me.  No people were hurt, thankfully.  I’m glad I didn’t know about it at the time!  I have lots of sticks, twigs down in my yard … and the neighbor’s cushions from a chair on his deck.
