My goodness, I had so much trouble logging on!!! My password wouldn't work, finally got in here LOL
SANDRA my dear friend I was so worried when I saw your earlier post, and so much relieved when I see you are feeling much better, if it happens again get to ER if you can ((((hugs)))
How is Michelle, have you heard anything, and I finally remembered to ask, what about Judy?? Mary's mother?? Is she Ok I am hoping you are enjoying a nice restful seep tonight and have plenty of relaxing things to do tomorrow.
THERESA you poor darling, so much happening, I am guessing mum has no clue what's happened to her. she is so very lucky to have you in her corner (((hugs))) Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
DEVONNE funny about the dreams, I dream in colour, sometimes so crazy a story, BUT so believable as well, often I dream about my school friends and funnily we are all in the same place every time, no idea where this place is, I must have been there some time.
INDY hope ML is OK, she sure has a lot to deal with, and I am so very glad you are driving again, makes it easy to step in when you need to, I will be on my own for most of next week, he plays in a competition on Tuesday then away from Wed to Sat morning, and then straight to another comp. LOL He'll be exhausted but I'll be fine LOL
BJ I am gad you are feeling better too, seems like things are looking up for most of us!!
MARYLOU I have no idea where my time goes, how did I have time for work?? I had sewing all day Friday and today (Sunday) and yesterday I seemed to be cooking all the rest of the day after I went to training.
I made 4 loaves of banana bread/cake (Bonnie Hunter's recipe ) some for the boys as Megan has her surgery on Friday and also some "supposed to be" lemon impossible pie/cakes. they were not that at all, turned out to be dense little cakes, OK not too awful, and the girls had some today, so plenty of leftover for the Mr.
I also did a big batch of beef/noodle stir-fry, fast and easy recipe and makes a lot. so that was dinner for Pete and me last night, and all of us tonight as the Mr stayed at the club for dinner last night.
I am feeling pretty proud of myself tonight last 2 sewing sessions I have been doing English Paper piecing, completely redoing the first one I started Friday, and finished another today, and it looks really good, I had some silk thread, forgot about it completely, and it makes such a difference sewing the pieces onto to the background.
The first was 6 small shapes surrounding a hexagon, so they had to be attached first, then all sewn around, the other was 2 1/2s of a heart in different fabrics, Julie was impressed that my "point" at the bottom of the heart turned out better then hers, - I fluked that one LOL
I'll get some pictures later, tonight I hope to get some sleep, its been ridiculously hot here, for goodness sake it's supposed to be Autumn starting beginning March here, and the temp was nudging 100 Friday and almost that on Saturday, and so hot all night, roll on Autumn I say, came on Mother Nature, wake up!!
Tonight feels cooler already, AND the humidity has dropped quite a bit, I think it was around 90% most of yesterday and last night, brutal LOL
Hoping to have time to get in here in the morning, so see you tomorrow!!i

FROM READER'S DIGEST'S ALL IN A DAY'S WORK.......
1. MY EMPLOYEE AND I WERE CHATTING ABOUT MUSIC WHEN SHE EXPLAINED THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A VIOLIN AND A FIDDLE, "THE FIRST," SHE SAID, "HAS STRINGS. THE SECOND.....HAS STRANGS."
2. DURING A BREAK, ONE OF MY FIRST-GRADE STUDENTS RAN UP TO ME VERY UPSET AND SAID, "JAMES CALLED ME STUPID!"
I FOUND JAMES AND ASKED HIM IF HE HAD, INDEED, CALLED MELANIE STUPID.
"I DIDN'T CALL HER STUPID!" HE INSISTED, "I SAID , "WHY ARE YOU SO STUPID?"
SO SUNNY AND BRIGHT TODAY. YIPPEE. LOVE THE SUNSHINE, JUST NOT THE HEAT.
TRISH.....ITS FUNNY HOW YOU ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO WINTER AND WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO SPRING. I CAN'T WAIT FOR ALL THE LOVELY COLORS OF BEAUTY TO UNFOLD.
GOOD LUCK TO MEGAN AND HER UPCOMING SURGERY. NO SURGERY IS FUN BUT LET HER KNOW WE ARE ALL SAYING OUR PRAYERS AND SENDING POSITIVE THOUGHTS HER WAY FOR A QUICK RECOVERY.
ITS SUNDAY SO MY DAY OF REST. I KEEP ITCHING TO GET SOME SEWING DONE BUT WILL REST ANOTHER DAY. CAN'T HURT.
IN THE MEANTIME THERE ARE QUIET THINGS TO DO LIKE WATCH TV, DO CROSSWORDS, PLAY SOLITAIRE ON MY PUTER AND CATCH A NAP NOW AND THEN. I MAY TAKE SOMETHING OUT OF THE FREEZER TO COOK BUT MAYBE NOT. I HAVE FOOD AROUND.
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES MY FRIENDS. HUGS FOR ALL, QB S

Good morning! It's nearly 8:30 here on another glorious morning. I apologize (once again) for not getting on here, and for not bumping and locking the threads last night. We had a busy day (when don't we?) 😄yesterday, and I completely forgot when we got home last night.
We went to Mom's yesterday. We weren't able to last weekend because I had a lovely bladder infection and needed to be close to home, 🤪 but I'm on meds and it's healing! Yesterday was a gorgeous day,
DS was here for breakfast before a chess tournament, and off we went to see Mom afterward!
It's been years since I last had a bladder infection, and it didn't feel typical this time, but I thought I'd better have it checked out.
Today is expected to be cooler than the last few days. We hit 72 on Thursday! Unheard of for February!
I will try to read and comment soon, but please know that you are all in my daily thoughts and prayers! 🙏🏻🤗

Nice to see you, Diane. Sorry about the infection.

Good Morning to everyone!! It is totally gray and very still outside. But it looks like the sun is coming out!! It is getting to be beautiful!! I love days like this!! Tracy made French toast for breakfast. It was yummy with syrup and raspberry preserves. We went to the opening day of Snowgoose Produce and got monster ice cream cones yesterday.
I am clearly running out of steam so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

Sandra, that was an interesting video on the rolls. I will try it soon as my family loves bread of all sorts. My mom made a mayonnaise chocolate cake and it was delicious. (No eggs or butter) She said it was a recipe from the "war times", so I assume the 1940's when those things were rationed.
Theresa, it is good to hear your mom is doing better. You have had such a trying time. Sending good wishes to Luke; terrible he has to go thru this and no fault of his own.
It is sunny but cold, only 24 degrees. Aaron and Katie flew to California for her dad's 75th birthday and Aaron said it was actually warmer here when he left, 50 degrees, then it is in California. They live in southern California, Irvine, which is just south of LA, but the birthday celebration will be in Northern California and it is only 48 degrees and raining. But I am sure it will warm up soon.

Didn't accomplish anything yesterday....spent too much time traveling down Memory Lane, lol. Old photos always do that to me! Nothing today either; I'm resting.
What a weird thing to happen to Gene Hackman, his wife and their dog. Maybe an intentional drug overdose and then the other one did the same? Still wouldn't explain what happened to the dog and why their door was open.

CHERYL that is strange being so far south, happens here too, we had much hotter days a few weeks ago than they did in our north LOL Made me want to be there BUT and it's a big one, their humidity is much worse!
DEVONNE sad about the Hackmans, they will find out eventually what happened, I did hear that the dog was crated?? Maybe something happened to one of them and the other wasn't able to function. really sad, and I was wondering if/when their family contacted them, I have contact with family every day. they would know if anything was wrong, and we had contact with my dad every day at least once, mostly twice when he was alone at home.
SANDRA so did you have a quiet fay, mine got busy, even gave up yoga today, I one for shopping at the local meat market, they have good produce and plenty of other things I needed, even bought baking paper (lining for trays) it was similar price to the supermarket. Saved me another trip. O also did the cleaning, and washing. So kept myself pretty busy.
I took pics of my blocks, i will post them below, the one surrounding get hex was the 2nd time, so I am happier with that one.
I finished it first thing this morning, my fingers were getting sore last night, that hiding the opposers is harder on your thumbs than you realise LOL
It will look funny like colours to choose to go together, it's done as a sampler, and there are 100 fabrics - not great as a separate block, but they look surprisingly good all together.
OOPS sorry they are so big, I should have tried to resize them.

Good Morning!! It is pretty still outside this morning, my flag is barely moving. It is almost 50*. So maybe it will be a nice, warm day after all. It is only 8:34 a.m. I really don't have a thing to say this morning, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

Sandra, only doing laundry today and some decluttering. I have also noticed Diana hasn't posted in quite awhile.
Diane, I have often wondered why Theresa calls me DS. Sometimes I have to stop and think what DS means, lol. I like that the computer thinks I'm "devoted," lol. I am doing fine, thanks!

GOOD AFTERNOON!
NOT MU H GOING ON IN MY LITTLE CORNER OF THE WORLD.
THERSA, SO SOORY ABOUT LUKE BEING LAID OFF. HOPE HE GETS BACK ON SOON OR FONDS SOMETHING ELSE HE LIKES. KNOW YOU HAVE PLENTY OF WORRIES WITH YOUR MOM. OUR NIECE'S MOM FELL WHEN THEY DID NOT HAVE A HOLD OF HER AS THEY SHOULD HAVE. BROKE A BONE AS WELL. SHE DIDN'T WALK AGAIN. MIGHT HAVE BEEN DUE TO FEAR OF FALLING AGAIN. BEST WISHES FOR YOUR MOM.
HAD a weird dream about STARBUCKS. I DON'T DRINK COFFEE AND HAVE NEVER BEEN IN EXCEPT AT BARNES AND NOBLE DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO ORDER FOR OTHERS. ONE JUST WANTED COFFEE AND THEY KEPT TELLING ME OPTIONS. I HAVE repeated DREAMS ABOUT BEING LOST FROM COMPANIONS.
HOPE EVERYONE IS OKAY.
THINKING OF EVERYONE. PRAYERS.........

STRINGS too funny, especially when you don't drink coffee. I was out early this morning and had the option of Gloria Jeans (like Starbucks) or a little cafe, went to the cafe, too many fancy options at the other, and I couldn't be bothered trying to choose LOL
SANDRA I told Megan you would all keep her in your thoughts and prayers and she is very grateful, she is a bit scared, never had a major surgery before. and I know she is worrying.
I hope you got your soup made, I will make some of your chicken/rice soup for Megan for when she comes home, even though it's summer she will enjoy it. Enjoy those books!
DEVONNE I use 'nicknames' for so many here, just the way I think of you all, I think THERESA does the DS because your name is DownSouth, same as Sandra with QuiltBea, taking the capitals and making a short name. That's how I've always read it anyway LOL
Hope you are feeling well, you will be starting chemo soon, let us know (((hugs)))
DIANE I am sorry about your UTI haven't had one for so long -- I am glad though, and pretty sure I won't after drinking all the apple/blackcurrant juice today (watered down by more than 1/2 LOL )
I got out early today and got a new vaccuum, and also a steam mop. It looked too good to pass up, both from Aldi on sale today, the vac is fabulous, I did our room today, from ceiling to floor, absolutely everything got cleaned, then polished and it shows how badly my old Dyson was working. Our room feels good, and there is no "new vacuum" smell I was worried might happen, sometimes new things have a bit of a smell of plastic or something.
I drank so much while I did it, got so hot, I had the A/C on, and as I was on my own had stripped down to undies so I could hop in the shower when done, and save my clothes from getting dirty LOL I was sweaty and hot!!!
The kitchen floor I did with the steam mop, and it works well, so I am happy with my purchases.
p.s. about DIANA / SAN I doubt we'll hear from her again, I sent many emails, and all returned to me with Mailbox Full message, I have a feeling her family wanted to keep her away from all technology things ( and us as a forum online ) , as they thought she had spent too much time on them, I worry about her, and hope she is Ok, we have no way of contacting her now.
