Good Afternoon!
Thinking of everyone. Prayers..........

Thanks, Devonne...not grumbling today. Funny how our moods and responses go up and down. And, I'm getting some alone time today. For whatever reason, Howard has been upstairs today, mostly. Sometimes I think it's a curse to have been an only child and without any playmates. HIs mother had Linda was he was 11 mos. old, wouldn't you know.
We had a nice time at our small group yesterday. The hosting couple live about 13 miles east in LaPorte and it was a bit difficult driving home in the late and rather blinding sun, but I made it. I changed my mind, as usual, and ended up making a fruit cocktail cake and it was a big hit and very easy to make.
Today is my late Aunt Franny's 100th birthday. I miss her, Aunt Glady and Mom but don't pine for them as they all live very long lives. My one remaining Aunt Betty, by marriage, called a few nights ago. She was 99 in Nov. and has been moved to an assisted living by her children and is desperately unhappy. Lovely place but terrible food service, care and of course no privacy. I did say to her that she's not at the County Home and is paying big bucks for this and should tell her kids what she told me. She is afraid they will not listen and will think she's just complaining because they made her move. There are so many sad stories like this... Mom was so blessed with the care at the Pines and Gabriel Home, and therefore, so were ML and I.
Cheryl, thinking of Dean you and your family, today.
Devonne, I'm sure it did break your heart about Caleb. Personally, I don't think kids should be forced to "perform" if there's even an inkling they don't want to. I've also never had a panic attack, but my piano recitals were pure hell. While driving to them, I was sure I would die when it was my turn and I played whatever the piece was as fast as I could to get it over with back in the 50s. When Andrew had one, in probably 2013 or so, the kids could sit with their parents and 'mosey' up to the piano and play if and when they were ready or not if they didn't want to. Very loose and informal and odd. Same with the refreshments. You ate them whenever you wished, or not. Ironically, both mine and his were held in the same rooms in the Women's Club which made it all much more deja vu, in a sense.
Enough of my nonsense for today. Going to find a recipe for lemony potatoes to go with my baked salmon for supper...or more likely, salmon and who knows??

Good afternoon friends.
Judy, I did not answer your question the other day; yes, Dean has two living siblings. His brother 80 years old, lives in Austin Texas and his sister, 76 years old, lives in Denver. Dean is the youngest at 70. Bill was 73. His sister wanted to fly back but Dean advised her not to do so. They only had one showing for two hours and then Bill was to be cremated. The weather was awful and Ruth has to pull oxygen when she walks, so in and out of an airport is not easy. She was just here last summer and spent several days with us and with Bill and his family. His brother, who is legally blind, was here last fall and saw everybody. They are too old and frail to try to get her for a two hour window. Anthony and his family drove 2.5 hours to the funeral home, spent 2 hours there and then drove 2.5 hours back home since the kids had school and they had work the next day.
Devonne, so sorry about Caleb's panic attack; they are awful. Dean suffer from them and we never know when it will happen. Closed in spaces seem to trigger him. Public speaking will do date for sure. Hope he is ok now.
Amelia loves salmon and I don't know how to prepare it for her. I dislike it and Dean doesn't care for it either, so I don't make it. Somebody said it is easy to do in the airfryer. Anthony makes his on the grill all the time. He has a board that the cooks it on. I don't want to grill outdoors in the winter, but he does it all the time.
Making homemade pizza for Dean and I for supper. Then perhaps do some sewing.
Take care all.
