Our predicted snow storm has started, however, it stalled for a few hours so it's running late, so to speak. We're supposed to get 3-5 inches but there's always the possibility of surprise lake effect snow that comes straight down Lake Michigan and dumps more on us.
We had an in-home appt. at 11 and at 10:30, the young lady coming here called and rescheduled. She had to pick up her 7 yr. old DD from early release school about 35 miles from here. I had already called and rescheduled both my hair cut appt. for this afternoon and Howard's eye Dr. appt for tomorrow morning. No sense ME getting out driving in snow and while the kids were going to take him to the eye doctor, no need for that either. So, to celebrate
(after scurrying around straightening, etc.), I plopped down with the Woman's Day and Better Homes & Garden magazines ML gave me and fully enjoyed the time to myself. That, because Howard was and is again in the garage trying to get the snow plow up and running. Why is it that something that's put away fully functioning never IS when it's time to use it again. Is that some kind of Murphy's Law? ETA: He's fixed it, is back in and I just made him a cup of herbal tea to warm up with.
He had his echocardiogram, yesterday, then we ate lunch at Arby's and still went to WM for meds and groceries plus another grocery store for their 3-day specials. We were nearly crawling by the time we got home and put them away. Now, we have today, Thurs. and Fri. home until his EEG on Saturday. The many appts. are coming to an end and he's feeling fairly well, I think...all I can get out of him is that he's not going to be running any marathons anytime soon.
MEN!'
Conversely, to your healthy plan, Trish, and because we'd just been to the store, my meal last evening.was potato chips, and then an ice cream sandwich and later a cheese and bologna sandwich. Howard, pretty much the same except for the sandwich. Sometimes we behave like kids...
I think that app for postal delivery here also takes a picture of each piece of mail as it's sorted so you can see what's on it's way and whether it's important or junk mail. I don't have the app but H. does. IMO, it's nice and it isn't. With it, you're never in for a nice surprise, like an unexpected card. You always know ahead of time what's coming and who from. But surprises can catch you off guard and ruin your day. Sort of like if you're having a girl or a boy? Well, maybe not the same, huh?
With that, I'll close this. Two inches on the deck rail already. Have a good evening and sweet dreams.

Janet, get well soon; that is a long time not got have gotten sick. Good for you. I did not like wearing a mask but did wear it when I went out during Covid. I had to wear one at school, but pulled it down to my chin unless a student was around. Dean thinks the masks helped a lot, but I am not so sure.
Devonne, thanks for thinking of my nephew. In fact, he got his PETScan results and they showed a "little non active cancer" so he was declared clear. He has to go back in 6 months for a re-check. That certainly was good news, and that family sure can use it. My BIL, Bill, is doing horribly. He is combative and will not take him diabetic and pain meds. He is now having to wear diapers and he is miserable. He just wants to be left alone. Poor nephew, his wife and Bill's wife are dealing with him. Dean tried to help yesterday, but Bill yelled at him too, which is unusual. They are thinking maybe he needs time in a facility. It is so hard getting old and sick. He is only 73.
We are supposed to get ice and snow tonight, but today was sunny and cold. We took the dog for a 3 mile walk and he loved being out. My nose got cold (haha...Rudolph for sure) but otherwise it was a nice brisk walk.
Nothing else to say, so will close. Take care all.

GOOD MORNING!
STILL RAUNING. OPT IS 33 DEGREES. MOST STILL CLOSES. MAY GET A LOT OF RAIN THIS WEEK, SO POSSIBLE FLOODING. MORE WINTER STUFF NEXT WEEK.
MY SIS GOT POWER BACK ABOUT 5 PM YESTERDAY. IT HAD BEEN OFF SINCE ABOUT MIDNIGHT.
JANET AND ANYONE ELSE NOT FEELING WELL, HOPING FOR QUICK RECOVERY. I HAVE BEEN WONDERING IF ISOLATION AND MASKING HAVE LOWERED OUR RESISTANCE.. LIKE IN OUR SITUATION, WE DON'T GO MANY PLACES. SEEMS LIKE WHEN WE DO WE PICK UP SOMETHING.
LIMITED ON FURNITURE PLACEMENT IN OUR, SO NOT POSSIBLE TO DO MUCH REARRANGEMENTS. YEARS AND YEARS AGO, I DID PAINT THE WALLS OF FAMILY ROOM WHILE DARRELL WAS OUT OF TOWN FOR A FEW DAYS. HE CAME HOME AND ASKED IF REARRANGED THE FURNITURE. HAD TO TELL HIM I HAD PAINTED.
TIRED OF WINTER, WANTING SPRING.

HOLLY.......HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU TODAY. I HOPE YOU GET SOMETHING YOU LIKE AND MAYBE GET TO EAT OUT. ENJOY YOUR DAY.
I NEVER MADE THAT SOUP LAST NITE SO TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO DO IT.
LOST $3.50 AT BINGO LAST NITE. BUT STILL ENJOYED THE TIME TOGETHER. WE HAVE SOME LAUGHS. THAT'S ALWAYS GOOD FOR A BODY.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE DAY WILL BRING ME TODAY. THERE'S ALWAYS SOME CHORES TO DO AROUND A HOUSE BUT I AM THINKING OF TRYING SOME SEWING TODAY. I'LL SEE HOW THAT GOES. THINKING OF AN EASTER DOOR HANGING. MAYBE NEED TO SKETCH A FEW IDEAS FOR THAT.
STAY SAFE. HUGS FOR ALL, QB S

Good afternoon. We've been to the bank due to another financial glitch. One of our auto withdrawals from our bank was listed as paid on Feb. 4th but did not show up as paid to the other bank. So, we had to go to our bank to get proof to send them. Fortunately, we did not get the amount of snow that was predicted and Hwy. 6 was totally clear so we could go to a branch straight down it. Since we were two doors from a Broasted chicken place, we brought some home for lunch. (Overcooked, and too salty, but we ate it.) I used to love it. Maybe it's my "taster" but nothing seems the same.
Cheryl, I love it that you take the dog out like that. I'm sure he loves it and it's supposed to lower a person's blood pressure to walk a dog. So sorry about your BIL's change in personality. So hard for the family to deal with on top of the worry.
Linda, too funny about Darrell thinking you'd rearranged the furniture. You'd think he would have noticed the new paint smell. I'm tired of winter, too. Am always tired of February since it's usually our worst month, here.
Having crowed yesterday about being able to stay at home today, I'm now going to get busy and do something. The unexpected trip to the bank was annoying and time wasting, but it's nice and sunny and not as cold as predicted...and the road was clear!

I have had quite a day, met my sis at a shopping centre and had a bad tummy upset, had to leave and get home, no idea why, just one of those things.
You might have seen in the news 2 nurses saying awful things in a recording, they have been deregistered and suspended, not sacked yet, they want to make sure they are legally able to do it without them arguing for unfair dismissal. WHY OH WHY do people have such hate for others. I just don't get it at all
I saw our little Bridie today as well, apparently now I am Nanny Trish, so I go from Aunty to Nanny. She is quite a miss, and trying out her authority, doesn't work wit me or sis, we ended up dragging her along because she was trowing a tantrum, when she didn't win she gave up LOL
SANDRA hope you don't lose power, that is about right for pulling down lines - yuk!! Good to hear you found something to clean for you.
INDY those financial things are so hard to fix these days, and getting more and more frequent. I have been getting lots of call from a "compare the market" I did online, they haven't stopped calling me, I have asked for my number to be removed and they say it will take up to 30 days - don't think so, I am storing them and reporting them. The phone blocks them as unknown callers, but I still see the call came in.

Happy Valentines Day.
Still no power since Tuesday morning with no real power restore time….maybe midnight tonight! No power is bad enough but no power while your sick is worse. Add insult to injury, we got the electric bill the other day and it’s $1523! That’s not a typo.

ANGUISHED ENGLISH.....
1. YOU'VE GOT TO TAKE THE BULL BY THE TEETH.
2. TELL ME, HOW DID YOU LOVE MY PICTURE?
3. GO SEE IT AND SEE FOR YOURSELF WHY YOU SHOULDN'T SEE IT.
STORM HAS PASSED. SUNNY AND BRITE TODAY IN THE 20S BUT HIGH GUSTS OF 40 MPH.
JANET......SO SORRY YOU DO NOT HAVE POWER. WOW, WHAT AN ATROCIOUS ELECTRIC BILL. YOU MUST HAVE A HUGE HOUSE.
TRISH......SORRY ABOUT THE TUM TUM. THAT HAPPENS SOMETIMES. IT COMES OUT OF THE BLUE AND WE JUST CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY IT HAPPENS.
WE ARE HAVING GUSTS OF 40 MPH SO EXPECT WE MAY LOSE OUR POWER TODAY SOMETIME. ITS SUNNY AND BRITE HERE AND IN THE 20S AFTER OUR SNOWSTORM OF ABOUT 5 INCHES AND THEN FOLLOWED BY SOME ICY RAIN BUT THE RAIN DIDN'T LAST LONG THANKFULLY. OUR ROADS ARE ALL PLOWED AND SANDED. OUR PARKING LOT IS GETTING ITS FINISHING TOUCHES RIGHT NOW SO WE CAN SAFELY MANEUVEUR OUTDOORS AGAIN.
MY CABLE WENT STRANGE IN THE EARLY HOURS. I HAD TO SHUT OFF MY TV. THIS MORNING WHEN I WOKE I RESET THE BOX AND NOW ITS WORKING JUST FINE.
A NEIGHBOR HAS COMMISSIONED ME TO MAKE HER A CARDINAL DOOR HANGING. SHE SAID SHE WILL PAY ME SINCE ITS A GIFT FOR SOMEONE ELSE. WELL LADIES, THAT DOESN'T WORK FOR ME. I DON'T MIND DOING THE GIFT BUT I H.ATE ANYONE TELLING ME WHAT PATTERN OR WHAT FABRIC OR COLORS I CAN USE IN MY PROJECTS. I'D RATHER JUST MAKE IT AND GIVE IT TO HER. SHE CAN TAKE IT OR NOT IN THE END. I HAVE GIVEN OTHERS HERE DOOR HANGINGS SO I DON'T MIND MAKING ONE FOR HER.
MY HAMBURGER SOUP CAME OUT WELL SO I SHARED ONCE AGAIN BUT ONLY WITH A COUPLE. MY SON JUST MIGHT STOP IN AFTER HIS TIME AT HIS GYM SATURDAY AND HAVE SOME SOUP FOR LUNCH. NO SHOPPING THIS WEEK BUT IT WILL BE NICE TO SEE HIM ANYTIME.
I AM RECHARGING MY PHONE IN CASE OF OUTAGE. I HAVE SARDINES AND PEANUT BUTTER AT THE READY FOR EATING IF NEEDED. NO PLANS FOR A LONG-COOKED MEAL TODAY.
I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL VALENTINE'S DAY AND CELEBRATE AS YOU PREFER. ME, I JUST EAT SOME TASTY SNACKS AND ENJOY SOME TV SHOWS THAT ARE UPLIFTING.
HAVE A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Thanks for the valentine pic, QB. I did remember it this morning but didn't get out the felt one I made from directions in a Woman's Day over 40 years ago for Howard. When we first had Fancy, somehow, she managed to chew off one corner.
OMG, Janet. That's a whopper! And we thought ours was high last month at over $400.
We have a whole house generator that usually works when the power goes out. Sometimes, if the temperature is too cold, it doesn't start. The thing makes me nervous either way. Silly, I know... Being sick and having no power does "add insult to injury".
Our new next door neighbor e-mailed Howard yesterday offering his boys to come and shovel for us. So nice of him, but we didn't need them. Didn't get the amount of snow predicted.
Tomorrow, Howard has an EEG scheduled. Bill and ML will take us if necessary because we have another snowfall predicted and freezing rain. That is the last of his tests that have been scheduled other than the hands on driving one and the eye doctor both coming up in March.
Trish, that was a bummer--you getting the tummy upset, especially since you don't get to be with your sister all that often. Bridey sounds like a handful. Smart to not give in to her even tho tantrums can be embarrassing for the adults involved.
We had the offer of another dog a few days ago. Howard doesn't know--I didn't tell him. Someone who has terminal brain CA and is going into hospice needs to find a home for her dog, an 8 yr. old peke/chi mix. So terribly sad, but not for us. I/we can't take care of another pet and I will never go through another decision like we just did. Howard brings up the subject now & then, and I re-state that I can't take care of another one. Plus, we still have our bird...
Have a good day.

Linda, your Valentine's Day card arrived today, perfect timing! I always enjoy reading your letters. I loved the heart & the flowers on the back. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness.
Cheryl, that's not good news about your BIL. Sounds like he doesn't want to live anymore. That is good news your nephew was cleared. I won't be cleared for 5 years.
Janet, that's an insane power bill. Mine was $309 but it's because it was unusually cold and I used the electric fireplace to help the heat pump. My house is 1902 square feet and it's more house than I need and I'm sure you feel the same way. I would have been happy in a tiny home, but those aren't allowed in my county. All I need is one bedroom, a bath, living and kitchen area.
Judy, that's a smart decision not to get another dog. My biggest concern is Molly making me fall. Good thing you didn't mention it to Howard!
I have things to do so maybe I will get some of it done later today. If not, that's ok too! I'm meeting a young woman at 4:30 to buy a nightstand from her. Gary said when he stays here, he needs a nightstand for his C-Pap machine.

Power came on and off twice this afternoon but is now on. 🤞 that it stays on…Linda’s correct , ice tomorrow and snow Wed. I will go to grocery store Sunday, I hope before the Indy 500. I’ve had about all I can take of this bs.
Yes, our house is large and it has been unusually cold but the taxes, fees, etc make up about half of that bill…last month it was $1100. Both way more than we’ve ever had.

ORDER IN THE COURT......
Q. NOW I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU WHAT HAS BEEN MARKED AS STATE'S EXHIBIT NO. 2 AND ASK IF YOU RECOGNIZE THE PICTURE.
A. JOHN FLETCHER.
Q. THAT'S YOU?
A. YES, SIR.
Q. AND YOU WERE PRESENT WHEN THAT PICTURE WAS TAKEN, RIGHT?
ANOTHER SNOW FALL IS EXPECTED LATER TODAY. ONE TO THREE INCHES THEY TELL US. RIGHT NOW ITS SUNNY AND 22*
JUDY.......GOOD DECISION NOT TO TAKE ON ANOTHER DOG. I WOULD LOVE ONE MYSELF BUT KNOW MY LIMITS ARE NOT AS IDEAL AS THEY ONCE WERE AND WHO WILL TAKE IT SHOULD SOMETHING HAPPEN TO ME? ALWAYS A CONCERN. STILL, I MISS THE LOVING OF A DARLING FURBABY THAT GOES BOTH WAYS.
I HAVE BOTH GROUND BEEF AND PORK CHOPS DEFROSTING. DON'T KNOW WHAT I WILL MAKE BUT I KNOW I'LL LIKE IT.
PLANS ARE IFFY TODAY. NOT QUITE UP TO PAR TODAY BUT MY SON MAY BE DROPPING IN FOR LUNCH. NOT SURE ON THAT EITHER. DEPENDS OF IF HE'S RUNNING BEHIND OR NOT. HIS WEEKENDS ARE USUALLY CRAMMED WITH THINGS TO DO AND HE DOESN'T NEED TO SHOP TIL NEXT WEEK FOR ME.
THAT'S IT LADIES. I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO REPORT.
STAY SAFE. HUGS, QB S

Good Morning!! Well, I wound up in the hospital yesterday. Got bad in the morning and my daughter called for an ambulance. It came and they decided to go to hospital. Finally came home around 2 or 3 this morning. I'm pretty tired right now, will likely not do a thing today. Fortunately, Tracy was here and she brought me home. She's still sleeping. I will likely fall asleep during this day as I'm feeling pretty stupid right now.
I'm ready to go lie down right now, so will sign off. Have a wonderful day, everyone ,BJ.
