Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 FEBRUARY ~ SAT FEBRUARY 15

That darn jigsaw is driving me nuts!!! I have all the blue sky done, now to finish the tiny houses set into the hill. Almost impossible YIKES!!! It's going to take me a long time.
Today was real prep and cooking for my lunches, also prepping dinner and planning. I need to do this, I have been incredibly slack in the food prep, I just decide at the last minute, it makes it so much easier when I do plan, I forgot how much time it takes to prep though, I will get faster, just need to get a bit more organised LOL

SANDRA so good that Matt will be shopping for you, when I did mine this morning I was shocked by the total, I haven't done a full food shop for quite a while. YIKES, the salmon and barramundi were the most expensive, but that is at least 3 weeks worth for each pack I bought, I might even go to Costco next time and see what they have to offer, Megan is a member so she can come with me.

JANET how are you feeling, Megan has come down with a bug too, and she had her colonoscopy and endoscopy scheduled for Wednesday, she has to call them in the morning and find out what they want her to do, she started feeling unwell on Friday so she rang the nurse, and was told to call back early Monday morning. I hope you feel better soon (((hugs)))) I replied to your message.

DEVONNE I do hope you are OK with the meds, it does take a few weeks to see if they suit or not. I'm glad you are not moving furniture LOL we are getting too old for all that now! Hopefully you can have the bed head up, is it going to be attached to the wall,  or does it attach to the bed itself. I don't have a bed head any more, but our bed sits flush with the wall.

INDY never worry about sizing, I usually pop in each day. and can resize it all, it's so frustrating when you loose a post, happens to me all the time time, I forgot and go back to check on something, and poof it's all gone!! I am so happy you are feeling confident with driving, it is harder as we get older, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't drive.

BJ lovely long message from you today, well done!!! You are doing so well!

I want to get the sheets done early tomorrow, I have yoga at 1pm and I want all the housework including washing done before then, with time to spare for me to rest. I have done all my breakfast prep for the week except sunday, I am trying out pancakes make with ground up rolled oats. Should be interesting, and it's something I'm allowed from the list. Still waiting on one of the coaches to let me know her ideas for me to plan eating times when I go to training, I can't eat ( or drink ) before I go, so I then I'm late all day with meals, makes it hard to fit in breakfast AND morning snack when I don't have breakfast till 11am, then it's lunchtime almost, the plan has us eat every 3 hours, and protein at each meal. I can combine breakfast and lunch, but still  have to fit in snacks LOL And it means I didn't eat for too long a time.

My March Fly bite is improving, not as swollen, but still hot and itchy. Wretched little thing, I hope she didn't survive to lay eggs LOL Apparently they need the blood to lay eggs and breed!!

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 FEBRUARY ~ SAT FEBRUARY 15

MIXED UP ENGLISH AS IN YOGI BERRA......
1.  EVERY DIRECTOR BITES THE HAND THAT LAYS THE GOLDEN EGG.
2.  IN TWO WORDS....IM-POSSIBLE.

THE STORM HAS PASSED.  I THINK ABOUT 6 OR 7 INCHES IS WHAT WE GOT.  VERY PRETTY.  LUCKY IT WAS OVER A WEEKEND WHEN MANY ARE HOME FROM WORK.

MY SON SHOPPED AND COULD NOT FIND THE SARDINES SO WILL WAIT FOR ANOTHER DAY.  I HAVE SOME IN STOCK SO I'M OKAY.  HE DID WELL BUT HAD TO HURRY HOME SO COULD NOT STOP FOR LUNCH.  I SENT HIM HOME WITH CHILI, VEGGIE BEEF SOUP, AND TATER TOT CASSEROLE, SOME KIT KATS WHICH HE LIKES,  AND A PACKAGE OF 3 HEAVY SOCKS THAT HE CAN USE IN HIS WORKDAY.   HE ALSO TOOK MY GRANDSON'S BIRTHDAY CARD WITH THE MONEY FOR HIM.  I GIVE CASH THESE DAYS.  NO LONGER HAVE TO RETURN AN ITEM FOR WRONG COLOR OR SIZE OR STYLE.  THEY CAN BUY WHAT THEY PREFER OR SAVE THE MONEY FOR FUTURE ITEMS.

THOUGH ITS MY DAY OF REST, I HAVE RE-ORGANIZED SOME OF MY STORED CANNED AND BOXED GOODS THAT ARE ELSEWHERE OTHER THAN MY SMALL KITCHEN......LIKE PASTAS, TOMATO GOODS, NOODLES, CANNED VEGGIES.  I HAVE PLENTY ON HAND SO I WON'T STARVE ANYTIME SOON.
I DO NOT WATCH FOOTBALL SO WILL PASS ON THE SUPER BOWL.

I SAW ON ESPN (A SPORTS CHANNEL) THAT THERE WERE PILLOW FIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPS.  I JUST HAD TO WATCH SINCE I COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT I READ.  YES, THEY HAVE PILLOW FIGHTS IN A RING LIKE BOXING.  HITTING EACH OTHER WITH A PILLOW.  IS THERE ANYTHING THEY WON'T MAKE INTO A SPORT?  I THOUGHT IT WAS RIDICULOUS.  I WON'T BE WATCHING AGAIN.

I ALSO WATCHED THE NEW DOG AGILITY CHAMPIONSHIPS WHICH I FIND EXCITING THOUGH THE BORDER COLLIE IS THE CHAMP WHEN IT COMES TO TAKING TOP PLACE.  THEY ARE SO SMART AND FAST.

NOTHING ELSE NEW HERE.  I WILL BE STARTING A NEW BOOK SINCE I FINISHED ONE LAST NITE.  ANOTHER MYSTERY THIS TIME WITH A CAT IN IT.

THAT'S IT LADIES.  WE ARE SHOVELING OUT FROM UNDER OUR LATEST STORM, ABOUT 6 INCHES OR SO I THINK.  WE GET SNOW ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK BUT NEVER MORE THAN 8 INCHES AT A TIME.  WE CAN HANDLE THAT OKAY.
HUGS FOR ALL.  QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 FEBRUARY ~ SAT FEBRUARY 15

I turned on the a/c last night for a little while. It was 76 in here and once it got to 72, I turned it off.

Molly had a cyst to rupture Friday; a lot of bright red blood on her white fur. I called the vet & they said to clean it & check for a deep hole. No deep hole and she is just fine.

Trish, is it going to be difficult staying on this food plan and cooking for Warwick? I haven't made oat pancakes, but I know they are healthier. A lot of folks add bananas to them.

When I was at the UPS store, my dining room table & chairs were delivered. It wasn't due until Feb. 14. Greg did so much yesterday. The new brackets worked with the headboard, so I have a headboard now. He got my table put together and one chair. He'll be back to do the other 3 chairs when he can. I just love the smaller table. Looks so much better. Will do pictures when it's all put together.

Today is movie day, no football for me. I might watch the half time activities.

=19.5pxGood Morning to everyone!! I can't seem to get anything right on here this morning.  Something is not working right on my board today.  So I think I'd better quit for now.   Hope you are all well!  Have a wonderful day, BJ.

Sorry!  I've been MIA again!  Still?!

I scanned this thread a little, but enough to know...

Trish, Mom often says, "I don't think any of these pieces go with this puzzle!" 😂  But she works several puzzles a week!  I got her hooked!   I haven't worked a jigsaw puzzle recently.  No time!🤷🏼‍♀️

QB, I'm glad Matt shops for you!

Janet, I'm sorry you're unwell! 🙏🏻

Devonne, I hope you are better each day! 🙏🏻

I hear my dryer calling so I better run! 🏃🏼‍♀️ 👋🏻

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 FEBRUARY ~ SAT FEBRUARY 15

DO YOU REMEMBER THE OLD DAYS WHEN WE HAD TO TAKE NOTES TO THE TEACHER FOR MISSING A DAY OF CLASS?  NOTES SUCH AS THESE.....
1.  DEAR SCHOOL:  PLEASE ECKUSE JOHN BEING ABSENT ON JAN. 29, 30, 31, 32 AND 33.
2.  PLEASE EXCUSE GLORIA FROM JIM TODAY.  SHE IS ADMINISTRATING.

ITS A LOVELY DAY AFTER THE STORM.  ANOTHER ONE SIMILAR IS COMING ALONG BY WEDNESDAY.  ITS A STRANGE WINTER.  LAST YEAR WE ONLY HAD A FEW DAYS WITH 1 AND 2 INCHES OF SNOW AND THIS YEAR 3-5 INCHES IS NORMAL ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK.

I HAVE NO SPECIAL PLANS TODAY SO MAYBE SOME LAPS AND WORKING MY JIGSAW IF I FEEL UP TO IT.  RIGHT NOW I AM A BIT WOBBLY SO THOSE PLANS ARE ON HOLD.
I THINK MAYBE A STEAK AND ONION SUB ROLL TODAY OR MAYBE A ITALIAN SANDWICH WILL WORK ALONG WITH A BIT OF LEFTOVERS.  ITS ALL GOOD FOOD TO ME.
STAY SAFE.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 FEBRUARY ~ SAT FEBRUARY 15

Good morning! Not in the 70s anymore, but the mid 50's, then low 60's. We have rain coming in the next 3 days.

Hi, Diane! Thank you. It's good you can find time to post for a few minutes.

I signed up for Walmart delivery for my prescriptions. With the flu going around and I haven't had a flu shot, it's smart to stay away.

Trish, don't you hate to take puzzles apart after you worked so hard to put them together, lol!  My sister, Shelby, used to glue her puzzles.

Janet, I hope you feel better really soon!

Judy, I don't recommend a washable area rug if you are putting it on top of carpet. I bought an expensive rug pad and it still won't lay flat. I bought some rug grippers I haven't tried yet. I do have furniture on top of the rug and it is a lot better, not perfect. I never had this problem with a regular rug, but Molly was my problem, lol.  I do have diapers for her, but they are a pain in the butt, lol.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 FEBRUARY ~ SAT FEBRUARY 15

Good day friends.

It is COLD  but pretty with the sun shining off al the ice on the trees and bushes.  Even the grass is covered in a layer of ice.  Thankfully all of the roads are fine.

My son, Anthony, spent the weekend with us and it was very nice to sit with him and talk and visit.  He came up to watch the Super Bowl with the guys.  He did last year too, but then drove the 2.5 hours home after 11:00 p.m.  He said it was a miserable drive with blowing snow and wind.  So this year, he just stayed overnight.  I do not go with the guys when they go to a friends house to watch the football game.  I stay home, watch TV, sew, etc and I like it.  Football is not my "thing".

Devonne, I wish you good luck with your new medication.  Please be very aware of how you feel with it.  My dear friend took it and lost all feeling in her feet due to neuropathy.  She fell two times and broke a wrist each time (  months apart thank goodness).  She continued to take the meds though and today she has been "clear" for 7 years now.  The chemo was the hardest for her.

My nephew is waiting on his latest PETscan to see if his Hodgkins Lymphoma is in remission.  He says he feels great.  He has lost 50 pounds but he really did need to do that anyway.  He is still smoking cigarettes and Dean gets on him all the time about it, but he won't give it up.  He is 45.

Trish, that puzzle is sure challenging.  I like some of the harder ones, but not sure if I could do that one.  I am doing a 300 piece one now that is sized like yours, about 1/2 inch.  It is sort of an ombre with reds, blues, yellow and greens.  It is not too difficult.

Sending good vibes to you all.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 FEBRUARY ~ SAT FEBRUARY 15

Still sick and actually went to an urgent care this morning because in addition I woke with a lump (can’t come up with a better name for it, under my tongue. The dr, actually a PA, said she’d never seen something like that before and got another PA who also was baffled but thought it could be a blockage in a duct? Anyway. They did test and it came back positive for H1N1. So why did I get a flu shot ? Anyway he said figure 5-7 or even 9 days. 😵‍💫. It’s already 5. He wrote a script for cough med and gave me a steroid shot. I probably wouldn’t have gone except that a storm is moving in and could results in heavy snow and the thing under my tongue is kind of freaky.
I only work on a puzzle at the gym. They always have 1 or 2 set out. Probably how I picked up this virus. 😡
Right now my sympathetic (not) DH is annoyed that I’m sick. Really? How does he think I feel. First time in at least 10 years!

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 FEBRUARY ~ SAT FEBRUARY 15

Janet, that is quite a record--10 years. Having that under your tongue is odd.  Hope it just goes away.  That's what I hope for everything!

We were urged at our 6 mo. checkups last week to get a flu shot.  Doc said the hospitals are full of flu.  Howard won't.  I am really considering it, but want to wait until next week when his many appts. will all be over...since I have to drive and might not feel so well. In the past, I have always gotten a flu shot.

Devonne, I'm not rushing into anything, rug-wise.  Have so much going on right now, that it's way down the list.  And, no matter what kind, I'm concerned about the tripping factor.  I do see that some are rather beveled on the edge without much of a "bump" up.  Like everything else, there are too many choices and too many factors and I usually put those things on the back burner for awhile.  But...thanks for the info.  I really do appreciate it.

QB, the last time I ate sardines, which I really like, I had an allergic reaction to them.  Funny mouth feel and some tongue swelling.  So, now I'm afraid to eat them.  I suspect it might have been the mustard they were in.  That's what we always had growing up, so that's always been my choice.  Maybe the ones in oil would work.  I could always add my own mustard.  But, is it worth it???

We're running the desperately needed Roomba.  Howard does it with  his phone...another thing I don't know much about and need to learn.  So, as wonderful as it is, it's not 'old school' and therefore, out of my wheelhouse (another phrase I hate!)

Howard watched the Super Bowl upstairs.  Yippee!  I asked the appropriate questions and then we watched "All Creatures..." my very favorite of the ongoing stories.  His, too, actually.   I know many of you watch it, too.

Off to start supper.  Country ribs.  I'm going to do them in the oven.  I'm a bit tired of the crockpot ATM.  Wouldn't trade it for anything, but it's also too late to start them, now.  Guess I'll have to stir up my own BBQ sauce.  I'm out of store-bought.  OR...maybe we'll just have them seasoned and roasted/baked.

Have a good evening and sweet dreams.
Indy

Good Morning to everyone! It is nearly still outside, the flag is wavering a bit.  Tiny bit of snow on the lawn.  It is a beautiful day, the sun is shining.  I really have nothing to say this morning, but wanted to check in and say Hi!! to everyone.
Will check in tomorrow, wishing you all a wonderful day, BJ.

MANGLED ENGLISH.....
1.  WE CAN'T BE A PANCREAS TO THE WHOLE WORLD'S PROBLEMS.
2.  NO PHONOGRAPHIC PICTURES ALLOWED.

SUNNY AND BRITE BUT COLD.  ANOTHER SNOWSTORM COMING ON THURSDAY.  THEY ARE PRETTY REGULAR LATELY.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME IF I REPEAT A 'JOKE' NOW AND THEN.  ITS TOUGH REMEMBERING WHICH ONES I'VE ALREADY POSTED.

I FEEL PRETTY GOOD TODAY SO TOOK THE PLUNGE AFTER 3 DAYS OF BEING A BIT WONKY.
HOORAY FOR ME.  I JUST WASHED MY OWN FLOORS WITHOUT ANYONE'S HELP.  I BOUGHT 2X CONCENTRATED MR CLEAN SOLUTION AND ITS A MIRACLE.  IT GOT THE GRUNGE OUT WITHOUT MUCH MUSCLE POWER SINCE I DON'T HAVE MUCH THESE YEARS.  I WAS HAPPILY SURPRISED.  AND NO RINSING NEEDED.  ANOTHER GREAT PERK.  I WASHED IN SHIFTS WITH RESTING IN BETWEEN BUT ITS DONE LADIES.  MY HOUSE IS DECENTLY CLEAN AGAIN.  THE FLOORS HAD ME VERY CONCERNED.  I RECOMMEND 2X CONCENTRATED MR CLEAN HIGHLY.

CAROL......WISHING YOU AND YOUR GLEN A WONDERFUL ANNIVERSARY DAY TOGETHER.  I HOPE YOU BOTH GET SOMETHING NICE AND ENJOY YOUR SPECIAL DAY.

JANET......SO SORRY YOU HAVE THAT PROBLEM WITH YOUR TONGUE.  I HOPE IT CLEARS UP EASILY AND SOON.  ANOTHER REASON I DO NOT GO ANYWHERE OUTDOORS WITHOUT A MASK.

JUDY......COUNTRY RIBS.  THANK YOU FOR THE IDEA.  I LOVE THEM NOW AND THEN IN TOMATO SAUCE WITH PASTA.  ITS BEEN AWHILE SO ITS ON MY NEXT LIST FOR SON'S SHOPPING.

LINDA......YOU ARE GETTING THAT SNOW NOW THAT WE EXPECT ON THURSDAY.  I HOPE IT DOES NOT GET TOO BAD FOR THOSE SOUTH OF ME.

DEVONNE......HOORAY, YOU ARE ON A ROLL.  GETTING YOUR BED FIXED RIGHT AND GETTING OUT THE CARDBOARD IN TIME FOR PICKUP.  YOU ARE ON A ROLL.

BJ......ALWAYS NICE TO SEE YOU POSTING.

DIANE.....YOU AS WELL.  YOU MUST LEAD A BUSY LIFE NOT TO GET ON HERE TOO OFTEN.  STAY WELL.

THAT'S IT LADIES.  I THINK I'M MAKE MY PEPPER STEAK SANDWICH FOR SUPPER TONITE.  MISSED IT LAST NITE BUT HAD LEFTOVERS.  THAT HAPPENS WHEN I DOZE OFF BEFORE SUPPERTIME.  WHEN I WAKE I HAVE LITTLE ENERGY FOR COOKING.  I GOT CAUGHT UP ON A BIT OF SLEEP LAST NITE AND IT SEEMS TO MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE ON HOW IF FEEL THRU THE DAY AND MY ENERGY LEVEL AND WONKINESS.  I JUST NEED MORE SLEEP.
HUGS FOR YOU ALL.  STAY WELL.  QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 FEBRUARY ~ SAT FEBRUARY 15

Sandra I hardly ever wore a mask during the Covid days, and I still don’t and won’t. I went out for lunch with a friend almost every week during Covid…I went to what we called an underground gym because it defied the rules and stayed open, if a place wouldn’t let me in with out a mask, I went somewhere else….so I guess being cocky about not being sick for at least the last 10 years, caught up with me. 🤷‍♀️
We’ve gotten about 3 inches of snow today…changing to wintry mix over night until mid day tomorrow. Hopefully this won’t wind up with power failure like last time and being iced in for a week.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 FEBRUARY ~ SAT FEBRUARY 15

We are under a flood watch for the next two days. I'm not near a creek nor a river, thank goodness.

Cheryl, hope your nephew gets a good report.

Janet, I wore a mask Friday when I had to go pick up a prescription at Walmart. I'm recovering from surgery and will be starting radiation next month. A little extra protection doesn't hurt. I hope whatever that lump is goes away soon.

Linda, the Informed Delivery is great. Might have saved Darrell from a fall. I only get my mail once a week, if that, lol.

I'm so glad all of those furniture boxes are gone. It's really nice to have curbside pickup when you need it. They come twice a month.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 9 FEBRUARY ~ SAT FEBRUARY 15

SANDRA yum, I agree on the ribs, they sound good INDY!!!
I am glad you felt well enough to do some cleaning, just don't overdo it!! We aren't as young as we used to be LOL

JANET sorry you had to go to get help, but glad you got the flu vax, and that I believe is why you are not as sick as others have been, that virus is quite deadly, so many people (young ones) have been ill here for weeks with it. It's been around here for some time, and the hospitals have lots of very sick people with it. Hope you feel better soon!

DEVONNE Is informed delivery the they tell you a package is delivered, here they take a pic and send it to your phone, so many people are getting things, and thieves are about, they want to show proof it has been delivered, sometimes Megan or Gary will ask me if I am home to put it inside for them, it's only a couple minutes to their house.

Nothing happening here, W just left to pick Dean up. I will do it tomorrow, Megan had to cancel her colonoscopy, they rescheduled to 27 February. She called her other Dr and he said it was fine to have that before her 7 March surgery, and the post visit for colonoscopy has been put back a few weeks to allow her recovery time, usually he sees you a week later but she'll be in hospital then - again LOL

Pete has come home, he's sneezing, I really think he's just run down and he'll be fine tomorrow, he left before 4.30am today, and their internet was down in 3 locations ALL of which he needed to fix and he also had to meet someone onsite to sort out some details, so he will be tired tonight.

DEVONNE I forgot you asked, it's not a problem for me with food prep, he gets his own lunch and breakfast, and I've set up the meal planner so I can eat the main part of dinner the same, last night I had brown rice (already cooked on Sunday ) and they had mash. We all had chicken curry and steamed veg. Makes it easy if I set up the weeks plan, then if needed I can cook something for him I'm not allowed to have because I've already cooked my part, I had plenty of chicken curry for a few meals, so I bagged them in my size portions.
Tonight we are all having salmon, mine with baked sweet potato and steamed veg, theirs with the same, plus white potato.
