Re: ODT SUNDAY 2 FEBRUARY ~~ SAT 8 FEBRUARY

Good Morning to everyone!!  It is a beautiful day here, sunny and bright.  The birds are flying around.  Everything is still outside, not a breath of air moving.  But it is only 23* outside, hoping it will warm up later.  Still plenty of snow outside!  Likely not as much as the east is seeing!!

Well, I have no plans for the day. Will likely just be lazy, as usual!!  Do believe Rhonda will be over after awhile, not sure!!  And since I have no more to say, will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 2 FEBRUARY ~~ SAT 8 FEBRUARY

It was cold but sunny today.  I did get out for a short walk, but that as it.  We had planned to get the dog and take him to the park, but Dean decided to just get him and take him on a long walk in the neighborhood.

Gabriel was sick yesterday and did not go to school today.  When Dean picked up Amelia, she said she did not feel well either and that her mom was sick.  So he dropped her off at her mom's place.  Her mom still is living with her uncle, so I feel for him with 3 sick people in his house.  Amelia said the school called her mom, but mom said she had to stick it out till the end of the day.  Amelia does tend to whine about the smallest ailment, but still, I would not have left my child sick at school if the nurse called me.

On the subject of redecorating/rearranging furniture, my daughter in law, Emmily, does it regularly.  They repaint, get new living-room chairs, plus she decorates for every holiday.  Sometimes I get disoriented when I visit!  HAHAHA...not really.  Emmily does have an eye for decorating and everything has to be just so for her.

I am making crumb blocks with my scraps.  It is just something to do to keep me busy right now.  Not sure what to do with them, but have made 6 assorted green ones and 6 assorted blue ones.  The last time I did it, I made a rainbow quilt that Amelia immediately claimed, so perhaps I will do that again for a donation.  It is all scraps, so no cutting on any yardage.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 2 FEBRUARY ~~ SAT 8 FEBRUARY

Too funny, seems we are the "redo it all" and the "don't change", we are about even I think, I do like change, just we have things now pretty much done, so I would need to repaint and that is another whole issue LOL

I am starting a detox program on Monday, it's what I need, too much junk has been going in my mouth, plus I am not eating properly (right tines etc ) so then I eat badly to fill up. It's a pretty restrictive diet, and we also have yoga sessions, weekend walks and we'll have other things happen to get us motivated, we have a list of 'allowed' food, and the size, plus we have a recipe booklet. Our list also says "don't skip meals and don't ask can I have ??? - it's not on the list - because the answer is NO  LOL

SANDRA  a good win for you. I'm glad the power stayed on! hard to plan when you expecting snow. I have a lot of meal prep to do, but I'll shop tomorrow.

CHERYL I am doing my Alice In Wonderland blocks, these blocks go together fast. I should be finishing other things, but I can't seem to get motivated to do that.

BJ it's a beautiful day here too, although it is quite hot. The A/c is on though.

DEVONNE I think you moving furniture right now isn't a good thing. So maybe your bath was a better idea. Be careful!!

I will try to post my pic of the jigsaw, I have done a bit  since this pic, most of the blue sky is in place ( well about 75% of it anyway)  it's tedious, each piece needs to be tried in the place, some are just such a close fit it's hard to decide but I've figured out that they sometimes are not the colour you think, so it's shapes I am using, with colour secondary. I put my finger in the shot so you can see how small it is. I'm not giving up though.

See you later!!

Re: ODT SUNDAY 2 FEBRUARY ~~ SAT 8 FEBRUARY

Cheryl, feel sorry for the uncle. Emily told me she has stayed away because she has been so sick. Gary too! I really do appreciate that!

My oncologist called me Thursday from the cancer center. Since I can't start radiation now, would I be willing to start the hormone pill? I took the first one yesterday. She said the major side effect is bone pain. I asked if she knew my bone history and she did. She said I will know in two weeks if I can take this pill, Tamoxifen. I'm on the lowest dosage. Wish me luck!

BJ, that was a really good post! Hope you stay warm.

Trish, those puzzle pieces look really small. I'm not lifting furniture so you don't have to worry about that.

Greg is coming today to try and fix my new headboard. I haven't been able to put a headboard on this adjustable bed frame since I bought it in 2022. This is the second headboard I have bought. I was ready to return it, but Greg ordered new brackets to try. If this doesn't work, I'll be returning it. It's so frustrating because my pillows fall behind the mattress. You can't push it against the wall because it's an adjustable bed and needs room to come up. I've been dealing with this for too long. Time to do something. Might end up being a new bed frame.

I am wearing my Apple watch again. Yesterday I walked 2600 steps. I know that isn't a lot, but it's an improvement for me, lol.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 2 FEBRUARY ~~ SAT 8 FEBRUARY

Sandra- you’re right about that.  I’m not accepting this “sick” thing very well. I felt some better yesterday….made a roast chicken dinner.  But by late evening I felt worse again.  Last night was the worst so far…coughing kept DH up. So I got up and slept (or tried to) in a chair in the loft.
I will have to get out tomorrow regardless of how I feel before it snows Sunday night into Monday….garbage can is almost full, bird seed is low and I’m sure I need something from the grocery store.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 2 FEBRUARY ~~ SAT 8 FEBRUARY

This is a shortened version of the long post I so carefully composed that disappeared when I tried to darken and enlarge it!  I will surely post it first from now on... This is the 2nd time this happened in two days...a lot of wasted time   And yes, I guess I'm crabby, too...

So, in a nutshell:  Howard's many appts. this week went well enough.  Cardio ordered a Echocardiogram.  Neuro wouldn't agree for him to drive but, finally,  the driving tester called and he has an appt. on 3/7, (plus she's coming here)  --to the tune of $250, with no ins. coverage, for this part of the driving evaluation.  Good PCP visits  both of us and he got his driver's license renewed at the BMV.  But, I will continue being the driver for at least another month.  He's not happy, but it's been good for me, confidence-wise.

Janet, sorry you're sick.  Since you, too, stay home a lot, wonder where you picked this up?
As for your grandson, I can't believe he's old enough to start driving.    I learned from Andrew, that if his parents can afford a brand new car, it will probably be worry-free and safer.  Andrew's, while not brand new, was new-er and an SUV, too.  But, I also wouldn't have wanted to chip in without being asked first, at least.

We have three days at home and then another week of appts. most days and, hopefully, they'll be over.  Howard has had no more headaches.

Devonne, hope you can tolerate the new med.  Sounds like Greg's the guy to fix you up with your headboard.  We also have a moveable bed frame, no headboard but it can be up against the wall.  Wonder what the difference is?
I need to start some Greek chicken in the crockpot for supper.  Have a good afternoon.
Indy

Re: ODT SUNDAY 2 FEBRUARY ~~ SAT 8 FEBRUARY

Judy- I actually do go out almost every day to the gym and the store but I’m always so careful. Hopefully DH won’t catch this. My son and DIL can certainly afford to buy DGson a new car without any help from us. He’s a junior and is already being scouted by some major universities. The kid is a great athlete and brilliant! (Gets that from me, lol). 😂.
