DEVONNE I love the rug, the colours are just what I need - but I don't have rugs LOL I hated having to get them out all the time and bash them on the line as well as vacuuming all the time, got rid of them BUT we don't get the cold you do. That looks so stylish.
SANDRA same here, I think of you each time I watch my shows, I finished the murders with Doc Martin's wife ( forget her name Katz??) it was so good, and I hope they make more, the last episode had the lovely Olivia Coleman as the murderer - again - she was the murderer in one of the Midsomer ones, she is such a good actress, she plays many parts equally well. Keep those pills close by, I should talk, forgot mine twice last week, I did take them later in the day. I try to keep them in a weeks container beside my placemat.
INDY I can always enlarge from the computer, not so easy from the iPad LOL I can do it, but I forget how, and then don't want to mess up anyones post by deleting something. I would suspect that natural remedy as the cause, those darn things are lethal sometimes, they just don't work with other meds for different people, even simple things like magnesium or fish oil, the other is glucosamine, the Mr takes it for aches etc, but it can cause severe bleeding if surgery is needed, even a tooth extraction. You have to be so careful (((hugs)))) Hope ML is doing better, she is such a trooper!
THERESA it's always something, they have patients in and out so they never get into a routine with them really hard with older patients, they need things attended too, and they can't find them in somewhere new, too much change for your mum ((((hugs))))
BJ your little one will be all cute and perfectly groomed, they used to put bows in Buddy's hair when we took him, he was adorable LOL
JANET hope you are still coping well, I just do things now, gave up trying to get him on board with some things, I just do it. I am setting up a list so if he''s left alone he can figure out what/when things need to happen. The kids will help him. He just doesn't retain information.
I have been pottering about today, it's been lovely and cool for a change, still light summer top on, but no need for the A/C
I have been prepping blocks for the Alice In Wonderland quilt, that woman has made a fortune with a book that the are patterns are terrible, I have had to fix her instructions. she says some blocks need 1/4" seam and other a 'scant' 1/4" but her pic in hr book shows a VERY scant seam more like 1/8th, poor new sewers on her facebook site are having trouble with the blocks not finishing correct size, and this is designed for teaching - yikes!!! Julie is furious with herself for getting the book in the UK, and then us all buying it too. Not her fault, we still like the pictures, just not the instructions. She is re-writing most of the patterns but I know what she is doing so I have gone ahead and done some myself.
One of Julie's pet hates is the Missouri Star way of doing 1/2 square triangles by sewing around the outside of 2 squares and then cutting on the diagonal, all the outside edges are then on the bias, and that is what this woman has for her instructions. PLUS cutting the background the exact size of the blocks for appliqué, when they can shrink in a bit, her idea seems to be "use less fabric" when just a smidgen more makes it easier.
I forgot to tell you Pete has been home this week, he dropped part of a branch on his foot (big toe) it's so swollen and really badly coloured, his X-ray was today, tomorrow he'll see the DR, he might have to have a needle put into toenail to release pressure OUCH!!! Hope not, but I also hope they can give him a boot maybe, he's working form home, and has it up on a stool all day and icing as well. He's learnt a lesson, don't rush to help his impatient father and put some work boots on in the yard.
I want an early night, training n the morning, I didn't do well on Tuesday, it was in the 90s when we were at the park, I was melting. The kids had fun, they kept spraying us with water (as well as themselves )

Good morning! I don’t know how an almost-80-year-old, retired widow can be as busy as I am! I’ve been reading your posts but not taking time to update you on my life.
Three and a half weeks ago, we had snow and ice and some of it is still here! Although the roads got cleared within a few days, my front walk and part of driveway (which never get any sun) are still slick. Hopefully, today’s warm temps will get rid of it.
Lynn was here for a long weekend. We enjoyed our time together, looked at a lot of old things I have inherited and decided who I can give a few things to now and call them Christmas gifts. I plan to write a note with each item telling who it belonged to and a little about that person. Most of the items belonged to people who passed away so long ago that the grandkids didn’t know them.
On Monday I had un endoscopy, which showed several irregularities in my upper GI track. None are serious but I won’t know until my follow up doctor appointment if I need to do anything other than my usual acid reflux medicine and watching my diet a little. Several polyps were removed and will be biopsied but they did not look suspicious.
I am also still working on quilts and have multiple projects going. I made three doll quilts, one for great granddaughter Freddie and two for twin great nieces.

Good Morning to everyone, it's a very dreary day here. Very gray outside. I really don't have a thing to say this morning so will just sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

I'm on hold. (Have been for 15 mins.) Howard is having a repeat MRI on Friday. When I just called to pre-register, I was told we need to pay $205 today. REALLY? Can't we pay on Fri. when we come to for the MRI? She's trying to get approval for that. This is the hospital 5 miles straight down Hwy 6 from us and the one we go to if ER is necessary.
Devonne, I too think your rug is beautiful. It's given me an idea for our living room. We need new carpet badly. Of course, just in the middle. The edges are like new. I can't imagine trying to clear out the room to replace it if an area rug would work. Molly is adorable. They often get that look when a camera is aimed at them.
Mary Lou, you have been busy. I know a visit from Lynn is the best and you two fill up the time when she comes. Hope your tummy troubles are nothing. I'll bet the little girls love a doll quilt.
Howard passed the cognitive part of his driving eval. yesterday. So, it's on to the driving part. I have to call to schedule that if I ever get thru on this hospital call. He's had no more headaches since Saturday morning.
So sorry about Pete's poor toe. Ouch! I did the things I always do to darken and enlarge yesterday but it just would work.
I'm going. Hung up and called the hospital back and was told she couldn't get me off "hold". She put a note to that effect on his chart. AND, we can pay at the time of service!
Have a good day.

ORDER IN THE COURT......
THE JUDGE. NOW, AS WE BEGIN, I MUST ASK YOU TO BANISH ALL PRESENT INFORMATION AND PREJUDICE FROM YOUR MINDS, IF YOU HAVE ANY.
ITS SUNNY AND BRITE AFTER ABOUT 5 INCHES OF SNOW. TEMPS ONLY IN THE 20S SO IT WILL NOT BE MELTING ANYTIME SOON.
I AM STILL TAKING IT EASY. I AM A BIT OFF-KILTER AGAIN TODAY. MY TO-DO LIST OF CHORES IS GETTING LONGER BUT I CAN JUST WORK THEM INTO DAYS WHEN I AM FEELING BETTER. I WON'T WORRY ABOUT MY DUST.
JUDY......THAT'S GOOD NEWS ABOUT PART OF HOWARD'S EVALUATION GOING WELL. FINGERS CROSSED FOR THE REST OF IT.
DEVONNE......LOVE THAT NEW RUG. SUBTLE COLORS GO BEST WITH JUST ABOUT ANYTHING. GOOD CHOICE.
TRISH......SORRY THAT PETE HURT HIS TOE. I HOPE IT HEALS IN QUICK ORDER.
LINDA......I HOPE ALL GOES WELL WITH YOUR TESTS TODAY. I KNOW THE PREP IS DIFFICULT AND NO FUN, BUT WISHING YOU GOOD NEWS ON THE OUTCOME. YOU CAN REST FOR THE DAY WHEN ITS OVER.
I RECEIVED MY FIRST CHARCOAL DRAWING BOOK TODAY. LOOKS GOOD. I WILL BE STARTING SOME SKETCHING SOON. I STILL HAVE 3 (FIXED IT, NOT 4) MORE TO COME. MY TARGET ORDER CAME YESTERDAY. THINGS ARE ROLLING RIGHT ALONG.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

I ordered double sided tape for this area rug which will be here Friday. It wants to bunch up because it's on carpet. I want to do LVP (luxury vinyl plank), but anything major is on hold until my treatment is over.
Marylou, hope the biopsy comes back good.
Judy, maybe the herbal med was Howard's problem. Would he even admit it to his doctor, lol?
Trish, does it ever snow in Australia?
I am having chili slaw dogs for lunch. I have chili and coleslaw I need to use.

Devonne, if he doesn't, I will! I sound so tough and I still haven't suggested that maybe it's not a just a coincidence as I didn't want to upset him in any way, yesterday before his testing..so I don't know if he's made the connection? I will wait a few days just in case the headaches start up again.
Offline
Judy, wouldn't it be wonderful if that herbal supplement was the problem? I hope all goes well for him.
Devonne, I will join the admirers of your rug! The colors in your home are just beautiful. It is so bright and airy.
Dean and I went and got grand-dog Bosco out and took him to the park. We walked only 1 mile, but it felt like more due to the 5 or 6 inches of snow we tromped through. The dog did not slow down one bit, lol. He was ready for some fresh air and running. He did lay down in the backseat on the way home, so we knew he was tired. Aaron said the dog has been keeping him up at night with whining. (He wants to join Aaron and Katie in bed.) I told him not to start that since the dog takes the space of a grown adult. Bosco sleeps all day while they are at work, so he is up at night. Hopefully, they will get some sleep tonight since the dog was exercised.
Theresa, sure hope things get better for your mom. So sorry she is going through this.
Trish, I would pass out in 90 degree weather if I exercised. I cannot take that kind of heat.
I got my scrappy quilt pinned and will quilt it tomorrow. It is rather small but will make a nice baby or toddler one. It is about 36 inches x 40 inches or so.

DOES ANYOME REMEMBER YOGI BERRA AND HIS MANGLED COMMENTS? HERE ARE A COUPLE THAT ARE IN THAT CATEGORY......
1. A VERBAL CONTRACT ISN'T WORTH THE PAPER ITS WRITTEN ON.
2. I'LL GIVE YOU A DEFINITE MAYBE.
ITS COLD TODAY BUT SUNNY. WILL ONLY REACH 20. BRRRRRR, LUCKY I CAN STAY INDOORS TODAY. WE OFFICIALLY GOT 4 INCHES OF SNOW YESTERDAY BUT I DIDN'T HAVE TO SHOVEL. ANOTHER PERK OF NOT DRIVING ANY LONGER.
I WON 75 CENTS AT BINGO LAST NITE. I HAD TO CALL IT SINCE ONE CALLER WAS LATE DUE TO HER P.T. APPT AND THE ALTERNATE WAS JUST LATE. IT FELT GOOD TO CALL AGAIN BUT BY THE END MY BACK WAS ACHING. STILL, I DON'T MIND DOING IT OCCASSIONALLY.
CHERYL......ITS A SHAME DEAR BOSCO CAN'T GET OUT AND RUN OR TAKE A LONG WALK DURING THE DAY. HE WOULD BE TOO TIRED AT NIGHT TO CAUSE A FUSS. ITS NICE OF YOU TO TAKE HIM OUT WHEN YOU CAN.
INDY.......IT SURE WOULD BE NICE IF ITS A SUPPLEMENT THAT IS GIVING YOUR GUY HIS HEADACHES. ONCE A LONG TIME AGO I TOOK NIACIN AND IT HIT ME SO BADLY I COULD NOT TOLERATE IT AS A SUPPLEMENT. SO, YES, THOSE CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS.
LINDA......I HOPE YOU ARE FEELING GOOD TODAY. SOMETIMES MEDICAL TESTS CAN TAKE IT ALL OUT OF US.
TODAY THE PLAN IS A BIT OF CLEANING AGAIN SINCE I FEEL BETTER. I WON'T PUSH MYSELF TOO HARD BUT EVENTUALLY I WILL CATCH UP WITH MY TO-DO LIST.
I WILL ALSO MAKE SOME SHELL PASTA IN MEAT SAUCE. YES, ITS ONE OF MY FAVORITES AND THE LEFTOVERS ARE ALWAYS GOOD. ITS ALSO A FAVORITE WITH A COUPLE OF MY NEIGHBORS.
THAT SEEMS TO BE ALL MY NEWS TODAY. HUGS FOR ALL, QB S

Howard is off to lunch with Dave who drove out here and picked him up. I called friends (in Florida for the winter) Carol and Albert and filled them in on what's been going on. It is 70 down there, today.
Am heartsick about the plane crash as I'm sure all of you are. Such a tragedy.
Cheryl, bet you and Dean were tired, too. I believe Bosco is a very large dog, right. Even a tiny dog in bed with you is a bit of a nuisance. They choose their spot and you have to work around that, sort of... Both Harry (dachshund) and Fancy (chorkie) slept with us is how I know that. After Harry, Howard said, NEVER AGAIN! But when his sister kept Fancy while we went to the Charlotte retreat, she let Fancy sleep with her and when we got home, he gave in to her sad eyes and my wishes. So my comment above didn't matter, to me.
He felt a bit of a headache coming on this morning, but it never developed. He didn't sleep well last night so maybe it was that?? But, yes, if only it was just the supplement.
He's already home but with no headache.
I'll close this and get busy or maybe read my book for a bit. Hope all is well with each of you.
Love and blessings.

Afternoon y'all!
QB Mom didn't get a regular person until she had been there for a week and a half! Not sure what the problem is and I know they won't say as it may open them up for a law suit, someday! I'm not lawsuit type person, but they have no way of knowing that!
Rained a bit last night but was gone by the time I left for my walk!
Had a meeting about mom, yesterday. Still have no clue what is going on with her. Made a list of complaints, 2 pages, read them all and some have been resolved! I'm still waiting on therapy to call me, they didn't make the meeting!
They moved mom's room due to roommate complaints, her roommate was complaining about mom. Found out yesterday when I arrived for the meeting. I'm supposed to get a call before the move, not after! They had moved her the evening before! Got the call today about the move stating mom was abusive to her roommate?!? I have no clue where that came from. I promptly corrected her! She said she went in to talk to mom about it, mom acknowledged her presence, and nodded. I told her mom is deaf, the staff does not put in her hearing aid, so she did that so you would just leave, she didn't hear a word you said!
The staff took some of her clothes and stuffed it in a closet, on the shelf. All the rooms are not the same. This is either an older area or not renovated. I went to get the rest of her stuff. No hangers, I can't find anything. I have to bring hangers and will leave them there for the next person. Bringing wire hangers we don't use! They threw what she wore yesterday on top of her clean clothes! I am baffled!
She did eat something today. The dietician was at the meeting and sent mom a turkey sandwich, for lunch, mom was elated. I cut it in half and she ate most of it. That should help her heal!
The lady that called me today is the one that was supposed to set up a meeting in the first 24 hours mom was there. I asked her about it and heed-and hawed about how difficult it is to coordinate staff and family. I told her I am retired. Tell me when and where and I will be there! She seemed shocked that I was willing to work with her! This is my mom, the only one I will ever have, yes I will do what I can for her!
Enough complaining! I'm off to work on my OBW! I am determined to finish it!
Later my Friends!
Offline
Beautiful here today...66 degrees!
Theresa, looking forward to a picture of your OBW. Holly (Greg's ex) and I worked on one together. It was so much fun. I finished mine, but she never did finish hers. It's not very big. How much longer do you think your Mom will be there?
Cheryl, thanks! I love decorating and am always changing things. I am actually thinking about painting my walls white (I remember you have white walls). My house is kinda dark, so I'm pretty sure this will be in the upcoming future. I have blankets on the back of my chairs, but today I found something I like a lot better. Table runners with fringe!
Judy, I'm glad you had some free time with Howard gone so you could talk freely on the phone about him. Don't rush out and buy an area rug. Wait until I see if I can get this bunching under control. If not, I will have to return it. I have learned you can't put area rugs with a rubber backing on carpet.
I got up this morning needing some motivation to clean house. Once I started, I go my mojo going. Gary is coming over tomorrow and we are going to our favorite BBQ place. I love their iced tea. Used to go there when we lived in Douglasville just to get their tea. My family likes sweet tea, but I'm the odd one. Mine is always 3/4 unsweet, 1/4 sweet with lemon.

Good Morning to everyone!! I'm feeling fairly well this morning. It is rainy this morning and 40*. Hard to believe this is the last day of Jan. I really don't have anything to say this morning, so will sign off wishing you all well. Have a great day, BJ.

AS YOGI BERRA WOULD SAY.......
1. WE'RE OVERPAYING HIM, BUT HE'S WORTH IT.
2. I NEVER LIKED YOU, AND I ALWAYS WILL.
3. INCLUDE ME OUT.
WE ARE AWAITING SNOW AGAIN, 1-3 INCHES THIS TIME. MIGHTY GRAY OUTSIDE.
I MADE THE SHELL PASTA WITH MEAT SAUCE YESTERDAY. IT SURE TASTED GOOD. I ALWAYS ADD SEVERAL TABLESPOONSFUL OF MY FAVORITE PIZZA SAUCE TO ANY TOMATO SAUCE I AM USING OR MAKING FROM SCRATCH. GIVES IT A NICE EXTRA ZIP OF FLAVOR.
DEFROSTED SOME PIZZA DOUGH FOR SOME TONITE IF WE DO NOT LOSE POWER.
YES, ANOTHER SNOW IS ARRIVING TODAY. CAN'T COMPLAIN THOUGH. ITS NOT BEEN A BAD WINTER OF SNOW SO FAR BUT THEN FEB. IS USUALLY OUR WORST MONTH FOR SNOWSTORMS. IN THE PAST 16 AND 17" AT A TIME WERE NOT UNUSUAL. I TRUDGED THRU LOTS OF SNOW GETTING HOME FROM WORK WHEN THE BUS WOULDN'T DRIVE UP OUR HILL WHERE I LIVED. BOOTS NEARLY TO THE KNEE AND STILL THE SNOW PACKED OVER THE RIMS AND I WAS TALL, ABOUT 5 FOOT TEN BACK THEN. ONE TO THREE INCHES IS VERY SMALL FOR A SNOWSTORM.
MY FINAL 3 DRAWING BOOKS CAME THIS MORNING. I WILL HAVE TO GET INTO MY DRAWING MODE SO I CAN LEARN BETTER HOW TO DRAW THINGS IN CHARCOALS.
THAT'S IT LADIES. HAVE A GOOD DAY. HUG, QB S

A rainy day (and night) in Georgia. Even though it's warm, the rain makes for a dreary day. I have been watching a lot of movies on Prime Video. Getting ready to start Dream House Nightmare. If you have any recommendations, let me know. I only have Prime Video and Paramount Plus. There are movies on You Tube, as well as Tubi (which is free). I also have Roku in my bedroom.
Gary came over and 'helped me' move a few cabinets around. Actually, he did all the work, lol. Thank goodness for those mover things you put under legs. We met Logan (GS) at the BBQ place. I got a bbq salad and only ate half of it.
I ordered a new headboard for my adjustable bed frame. The last one I bought didn't fit. Greg is coming over tomorrow to "try" and install it. I'm so tired of my pillows falling behind the mattress. I can't put the mattress up against the wall, or the adjustable bed wouldn't work. If this one doesn't fit, I don't know what to do.
You know I'm feeling better when I'm busy in the house.

It is a rainy, rainy day here in NE Ohio too. Kind of chilly, but not too bad. Supposed to snow flurry tonight, so I am happy that I will not have to go out early in the morning as it will most likely be icy.
Devonne, it is so nice to see you doing so much so soon. Sending continued prayers. Yes, all of my walls are beige/off white except the half bath downstairs and it is blue. That was my big change! I have oak trim and would like to paint it all white, but Dean says he does not want to paint over the oak.
I tried a crockpot recipe I saw on Facebook today. It was just OK. It was basically just carrots, potatoes and a roast. It did have lots of garlic but other than that, it is better when roasted in the oven in our opinion. Well, it was really easy, so that counts for something.
Aaron has joined Planet Fitness Gym to start working out. He does not feel well too much of the time and we told him he needed exercise and not the kind he gets at work. So, Dean has been going walking with me in the mornings at the YMCA and then going to work out with Aaron at the gym. THEN he goes back to the YMCA to use their hot tub and sauna. It is a good thing that the facilities are rather close and that the Medicare Silver Sneakers program pays for it. As you can see, he loves to work out. He used to run marathons before his double knee replacements and he really misses it.
Nothing else to report here.

We had the same icky, rainy, and foggy day yesterday. I drove Howard to the hospital, 5 miles, for his 3:45 MRI and hoped it wouldn't be too dark coming home. It was actually lighter as the fog had lifted, for which I was thankful. We're supposed to have two days in the 50s tomorrow and Monday.
Cheryl, you guys are going to be so healthy. Good for you. And how sweet of Dean to join Aaron and you. Don't paint your oak woodwork! Paint chips and shows the dirt and is a huge job. I wanted white woodwork when we built our house and while I do like it...I found that out. But I do have a good tip it any of you have white woodwork. Wite-Out works great on small dings and marks on white woodwork. And it's cheap!
No headaches for a week this morning, here. a couple of times, he thought one was starting, but it never developed. He sees the neurologist on Thurs. again.
Devonne, I will hold off on the area rug. As it is, I never jump into anything to quickly, anyway! Am not sure that's the answer. While I really love your choice, I most likely would look for an all over contemporary pattern as everything we have for furniture and of course the carpet is a bit shabby and a lovely, fresh-looking pattern might draw attention to that. ATM, I don't much care, but when the group is due to come again, I will, since I kept saying when Fancy is gone, were getting new carpeting! I thought we would be...
Need to get off here and get busy. Glad to be home today. Have had several calls already.
Have a good day.
