Can you believe that this thread (which Trish so graciously provided) 😁 takes us into FEBRUARY!? 😲
I hope you are all well, and that you have a great week!
We are busy dog sitting again this weekend. Well, during the day, that is.
Back when I have a few minutes! 👋🏻🤗

THANK YOU DIANE!! I also can't believe it's coming up to February already, this year is already moving FAST!!!
SANDRA looks like it was a quiet day on the board, I had a slow day here too, it was warm, it's officially Australia Day, but the holiday is tomorrow (Monday ) and it's going to be HOT, and pretty warm all that night, something to look forward to LOL It will be even worse on Tuesday with temps to be high 80s when we do our training class at 9.30am, I hope Suzana has something not too strenuous LOL I have my neck cooler in the fridge already
I cooked some lamb steaks tonight and roasted veg as well as some steamed, it's a bit of a tradition to have lamb on Australia day, no idea where that came from, maybe because we were known as sheep country on the old days.
I am ging to chill tomorrow, apart from some cleaning, my cleaning doesn't take long, and I already did the bathroom stuff today. Our UK tour group is meeting for lunch again in Feb, on 22nd, I have to tell the Mr, he will take forever putting all the details into his phone, I have "Lunch at the Vineyard noon" he'll have the proper address, the group organiser, where the lunch will be and finally the time and expected time to finish. Can you tell he's more than a little OCD
Megan will be home tomorrow, did I tell you she is going to join my fitness group, I am really happy about that, not for a couple months after surgery, but she has made the commitment.
Our Kristen has returned from Japan, they went to their caravan at the river this weekend, they can't stay in their house- it really smell with all the wet carpet and furnishings, Gary thinks the insurance will set them in a house till repairs are done, easier said than done, rentals are very hard to get these days, I suspect they might end up with nine for a while, he sure can't say "no" to her. He has room, but they did it when Chalon and Mike built their house, and it was hard for hm, he's neat freak, and has his own schedule to keep to, he's very structured LOL
Hope they can get it cleared out soon, the internal assessor hasn't been yet, maybe he was waiting for them to return.
I need to finish the last week of November for my quilt, then I might do the embroidery for the moths, should be quick once I decide what size to cut the strips.

I’m so pleased with myself….I actually got down and up my partially still icy driveway by myself! . I ran a few errands and went to the gym…and talked to people.
It was so nice to get out alone after 3 weeks of being stuck in. DH did take me out twice for groceries. Even with the big truck we did a fair amount of slipping and sliding.
Back later….

IN THE NEWS WORLD.......
LOST: SMALL APRICOT POODLE. REWARD. NEUTERED. LIKE ONE OF THE FAMILY.
ANOTHER....
A SUPERB AND INEXPENSIVE RESTAURANT. FINE FOODS EXPERTLY SERVED BY WAITRESSES IN APPETIZING FORMS.
ITS SUNNY AND BRIGHT AND MAY HIT THE MID-30S WHICH IS A BIG IMPROVEMENT.
ITS MY DAY OF REST AND I PLAN TO DO JUST THAT. I FELL ASLEEP EARLY LAST NITE AND WORK TOO EARLY. I THINK I MAY CATCH A NAP THIS AFTERNOON.
I MADE MY 1-LB MEATLOAF WITH VEGS ON THE SIDE AND IT WAS GOOD. ENOUGH FOR LEFTOVERS SO NO COOKING FOR ME TODAY. I WILL THINK OF SOMETHING TO MAKE WITH CHICKEN TOMORROW SINCE I HAVE A NICE CKN BREAST DEFROSTED.
THERESA.......I FAILED TO SAY SOMETHING SOONER ABOUT THE LOSS OF THE INFANT. ITS JUST TOO DIFFICULT TO DEAL WITH FOR ME. SORRY, BUT IT HIT CLOSE TO HOME. A NIECE HAD THAT HAPPEN TO HER AND I KNOW IT CAN BE DEVASTATING TO THE FAMILY. I AM IN TEARS ABOUT THIS NEW BABY. I JUST CAN'T UNDERSTAND SUCH TERRIBLE LOSSES. THEY WERE SO INNOCENT. PRAYERS FOR THEM ALL.
HAVE A DECENT DAY LADIES. HUGS FOR ALL, QB S

It's a nice softly sunny day. In the twenties but that sure beats single digits. I just must at least stick my nose out the back door for a few minutes.
QB, your drawing ability blew me away. Those charcoals were stunning. I mean, I knew from your wall hanging designs, that had to be simpler for fabric usage, that you had talent, but
"wow"! Glad you could put your hands on them to show us.
Theresa, the loss of the newborn is so beyond sad. I'm praying for the parents and grandparents. Nothing else to say...
Trish, lots going on in your realm, with Megan's coming surgery, and Kristen's house disaster.
If necessary, I'm sure Gary will step up in spite of the inconvenience. He'll do it for his daughter and for Diane. Happy Australia Day, if that's the appropriate.
Have a good day...

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
I finished the laundry this morning. Then went thru makeup & lotions; threw away the old stuff. I need a decorative box for my makeup to keep on my nightstand. Ross for Less will have it when I make it there. I need a lock to keep Sadie Grace out of it, lol.
Trish, how wonderful Megan is going to join you.
I found a few movies on the Roku Channel that I saved late this morning. I'll watch some of those later today.
My doctor's appointment is tomorrow. I will find out what he says about these wounds.

I decided to make an executive decision here…DH has been talking about taking a whole lot of junk to the dump for months. Maybe he was waiting for me to do it? I called our “guy” and hired him to come get the stuff to the dump! He was thrilled to get the work and I’m thrilled to get it out of here. DH seemed surprised but didn’t say anything. I told him yesterday that he has 2 days to add to the ever growing pile that’s been in the downstairs family room. I also told him he has 2 weeks to fix some electrical issues before I call an electrician to do it. I’m so tired of looking at undone stuff. Next I’m going to give him a deadline to purge his closet or I will.
(Mine needs it too, ☺️. I’m on a roll, first I drove on an icy driveway and now I’m taking charge! And bossing him around.

SANDRA I have been keeping that poor family in my prayers too, such a sad loss an infant is, just can't imagine.
I think you do so well with your cleaning chores, mine have been slack lately, the Mr is supposed to help, I am trying to train him, same as you CHERYL he's not a fast learner though. I am just trying to teach him the best way (and cleanest) to do things, he calls it nagging LOL As for shopping, I am almost ready to give up, he thinks he should just go buy whatever when he needs to when it runs out, forget adding to a list!!!
JANET you are on a roll, keep going, good for you, sometimes you have ti take a stand LOL
INDY yes, that is a correct greeting, we seems to be getting little of our 'get up and go" back, too many loud voices of the minority, the loudest is the most heard, but hopefully the silent majority are pulling them up a little, we have some saying it's not Australia Day it's Invasion Day. Honestly so many countries were 'taken over' by others, Did things happen that shouldn't YES of course, do we have a beautiful country now, again YES, so I just don't understand them.
I have been sewing a little, took ups his sis's pants, I have decided to ask if the yellow ones I bought can be cut up to make a pattern and when I get my overlocker back I can make her some. The fabric you get with store bought just doesn't wash and dry like the 'good' stuff. And making track pants is so easy and quick with the overlocker. You should see the yellow ones, bought them online and they are definitely NOT true to the picture, they are so bright LOL I really wouldn't like her to wear them.
The brothers see the Dr she has on Wednesday, fingers crossed they don't have a disagreement in the office. They have quite different views on her health care. The Mr knows her better after many, many years of caring, but David thinks he knows best LOL we'll see how it goes.
Dave wants the best hearing aids he can for her, so do we! But he has forgotten that she has a manufactured eardrum, so not all are suitable. He wants ones that his wife and W have, they are for hearing impaired not profound deafness. Families!!!!
I finished November and now just getting on with December, I really want to play with the embroidery part, it's fun, I had sewn January a while back, so I could have seen how 'long' it is, then I can centre iron the strips, can't find it, so Ill have to do another, or December, it has one more letter.

DEVONNE yes, I am so happy about her joining, she's been walking at least 5klm (about 2.5 miles) a day, but often a lot more than that and has made the decision, so hoping Gary will join as well. he needs it more than she does. Good luck with the DRs ((((hugs))))

GUILT, VENGEANCE, AND BITTERNESS CAN EMOTIONALLY BE DESTRUCTIVE TO YOUR CHILDREN. YOU MUST GET RID OF THEM.
SUNNY AND BRITE. HITTING THE MID 30Sf TODAY. LOVE IT. I HAVE TO TAKE OUT MY TRASH.
MY PUTER FROZE SO I HAD TO SHUTDOWN AND RESTART. ITS DOING FINE NOW.
DEVONNE.....I HOPE ALL GOES WELL WITH YOUR APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR DR THIS MORNING.
TRISH......I ALWAYS THINK OF YOU WHEN I WATCH A BRITISH MYSTERY. I LOVE OUR PBS STATIONS FOR THOSE. AND I ALSO AM KEEPING UP WITH THE NEW SEASON OF ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL. THEY ARE DOING A LOVELY JOB.
JANET......GOOD FOR YOU. TIME TO TAKE CHARGE IF HE WON'T. STICK TO YOUR GUNS GIRL.
BJ......ITS NICE TO SEE YOU POSTING EACH MORNING. I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR POSTS.
I HAVE SOME RICE-A-RONI I NEED TO USE UP THIS MONTH SO WILL MAKE A RICEARONI AND CHICKEN CASSEROLE. ITS EASY SINCE IT ALL GOES IN THE DISH AND BAKES TOGETHER FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF. I WILL TRY TO REMEMBER TO TAKE PICS FOR MY BLOG.
MY TO-DO LIST WON'T BE DIFFICULT TODAY. JUST CLEAN MY SMALL APPLIANCES ON THE COUNTER, TOSS ANY OLD FOODS AND WIPE DOWN MY FRIDGE. THEN OUT TO THE DUMPSTER. NOT TOO MUCH FOR THIS OLD BODY.
STAY SAFE EVERYONE. HUGS, QB S

Good afternoon.
I was digging through my closet in my sewing room and found lots of stuff I had forgotten about. I found lots of swap fabric. They were 3.5 x 6.5 blocks. I think I had 25 or 30 sets of them from a swap many years ago. I even saw a set with Kelli's name on them. I did sew some of them together yesterday and made a quick scrappy top. I like it more than I thought I would. It was so easy since the blocks were already done. I need to buy some batting, but it is so expensive I will hold off for now.
It is sunny and 25 degrees so, a nice January day here. I need to go to the grocery store and will do that as soon as I finish here. I have a long list of things we need,, especially laundry stuff and cleaning supplies. That always makes the bill go high.
Giant Eagle has rotisserie chickens on sale, so I most likely will pick one of those up for supper.
Sandra, your drawings are fantastic! Such talent. Nobody in my family has and drawing/painting ability. Dean's older brother did a little drawing years ago, but was not as good as you at it. I still have trouble putting colors and color shades together.
Online!
Brilliant sun this morning. I like softer , but will take it! Not sure about the temperature. Our snow cover is still intact, which tells me it's below freezing.
Howard has not had a headache since Saturday morning. He's napping in his chair right now.Dave called and will come out here and get him on Thursday and drive him to lunch. We're so grateful for his friendship.
Like some of you, my new plan is to commit to 1 hour a day to cull, deal with and organize paperwork around here. It quickly takes over and I'm a jotter of info/stuff on scraps of paper and old envelopes, anything I can get my hands on. ML has made some good suggestions about this problem, too. For a so-called "paperless" society, we surely missed the boat. He got 4 samples of his new med--one pill packaged in one complete, small box, surely a poor way to conserve trees! I couldn't believe it...ONE PILL!
Devonne, sorry for the delay in your treatment plan, but at least you are able to function pretty well. Are your wounds painful? Good idea about the makeup storage solution and the lock. ML likes to tell that when she was small, she spent a lot of time at our neighbor's house with her same-aged playmate whose mother had shelves/drawers of makeup and "I"... had one or two lipsticks and one mascara. Once in a while, I watch a U-Tube of someone applying makeup and for someone who does hers in 2 minutes before going out the door, I wonder HOW one can spend all that time with all that stuff??? How do you like your bigger rug?
Yesterday, Howard had trouble with the checkbook again. Prickly as he can be, thankfully, he does eventually bring it to me and the errors, so far, are just lapses in entering or entering something twice. He always pays the bills but said WE when he said the bills need doing. So, gradually, we are making some changes. Evidently, he doubts his ability and sees that need. I always paid them and balanced the checkbook (once a month) in our early years, before the on-line paying of them became the thing to do, which is foreign to me. I'll just have to learn.
Thanks for listening to me rattle on and on. In some way, you girls are my sounding board. ML is still not well and I need to not plague her with every little problem, here.

Afternoon y'all!
Mom is hanging in there! I keep telling her to do what they say and do it to her ability and she will get to go home soon! Not sure if she remembers me telling her that!?! Today they had her in a wheelchair in the hall, dressed but no bra, no glasses, no hearing aid... I so want her gone from this place!
I am putting off calls. I so don't like making them! I am making one! Love the speaker on the phone, makes it easier!
First call done and she owes nothing. What a waste of time, and paper! What they want is you to pay the bill and not ask questions! I know this game!
Second call done, had to leave a message. Now they will call at a very inopportune time! Is what it is! I will just carry the paperwork with me and hopefully not lose it! All this is for my mom, not me!
I did take a day off yesterday! I made cranberry jelly, blackberry jelly and blackberry-blueberry-muscadine jelly! The last was using up fruit/fruit juice from the freezer! It is so good. I could eat it from the jar!
Just dreary and wet here today. Only got a light dusting from the last round of snow! It was pretty and gone!
We are going to see Luke in February. Plans are soft with both our mom's things can change quickly! He has a washer and dryer he is buying from a co-worker, we are going to get it and connect it for him. Hubby will show him how to connect/install them. Thankfully Luke is eager to learn! The first time he does it on his own he will call, but that is to be expected, especially from him! Hopefully it will be easy!
That's my life right now. Phone calls etc. I so dislike getting bills before all the insurance has been finalized! Don't know why that is hard!
I ordered mom another hearing aid, thought it was free, but it's discounted, not free. Not ready to dish out $400+ until all the bills for the hip stuff is done!
That's everything from my little corner of the world! Later my Friends!

IN THE NEWS.....
THE DRIVER HAD A NARROW ESCAPE, AS A BROKEN BOARD PENETRATED HIS CAR AND JUST MISSED HIS HEAD. THIS HAD TO BE REMOVED BEFORE HE COULD BE RELEASED.
ITS GRAY OUT THERE WITH PUFFY GRAY CLOUDS. THEY TELL US 1-3 INCHES OF SNOW TODAY. IT HASN'T STARTED YET. IT ALSO 35* SO IT WILL PROBABLY MELT PRETTY QUICKLY.
CHERYL........ITS AMAZING WHAT ONE CAN FIND IN THE HOUSE IF ONE LOOKS HARD ENUF. LUCKY YOU GETTING ANOTHER SCRAPPY QUILT MADE. YOU ARE A DYNAMO.
I HAVEN'T HAD TO BUY BATTING FOR AWHILE THANK GOODNESS, BUT IN ANY CASE, MY WALLHANGINGS DON'T TAKE UP MUCH. EVERYTHING IS GETTING TOO EXPENSIVE.
THERESA......THAT REHAB PLACE SURE DOESN'T SOUND LIKE THEY ARE DOING VERY GOOD FOR YOUR MOM. SUCH NEGLECT. CAN YOU REPORT THEM TO THE STATE OR THE HOSPITAL THAT SENT HER THERE AND GET SOME RESULTS? IS IT THAT THEY ARE BADLY SHORT-HANDED IN HELP? OR JUST STUPIDITY?
I MADE THE RICEARONI CASSEROLE LAST NITE AND IT WAS WELL RECEIVED THO I THINK I SHOULD SKIP ADDING ANY EXTRA SALT SINCE THE RICERONI MIX MUST HAVE ENUF IN IT. I COULD TASTE IT. TOOK PICS BUT NOW MY PHONE WON'T SEND THEM TO MY EMAIL. I MUST HAVE HIT SOMETHING THAT PREVENTS IT BUT NOT BEING TECHY I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO FIX IT. I WILL ASK MY SON WHEN HE COMES NEXT WEEK.
I STILL FEEL A BIT WONKY TODAY BUT NOT TOO BAD. I ALSO FORGOT TO TAKE MY LOSARTAN BP PILLS LAST NITE. BP IS A BIT HIGH BUT I DON'T KNOW IF I SHOULD TAKE 1 OF THEM THIS LATE SINCE I WILL BE TAKING 2 OF THEM AT 6:30 TONITE. I WILL MONITOR MY BP TODAY AND NOT TIRE MYSELF UNDULY.
THAT'S IT LADIES. I AM EXPECTING ONE OF MY ART BOOKS TODAY IN THE MAIL, ONE ABOUT DRAWING REAL ANIMALS. I CAN HARDLY WAIT TO GO THRU IT AND PLAN A SKETCH.
HAVE A GOOD DAY. HUGS FOR ALL, QB S

Another bright sunny day. Should be in the 40s, later. This afternoon, Bill & ML will take us to a place that's about 40 mins. away for Howard's cognitive driving evaluation. I could drive us, but since it takes 90 mins., it will be dark or almost before we could get home, so...
We will treat them to supper out as ML has to eat at specific times or as close as possible.
Howard hasn't had a headache since a more mild one on Saturday morning. He quit the "secret" herbal thing he was taking (secret because I didn't know ). I won't say anything about it just yet, but would't it be something if that was what was causing the headaches? One can only hope...
Oh Theresa, as a nurse, this all must make you more crazy than it might even be for the rest of us. I do understand about the calls and the more and more need to leave a message and the return call likely being at an inconvenient time! I agree, too, about the bills that dribble in before ins. is settled. It seems it's the same all over--the insurance/medical/ "the rt. hand not knowing what the left hand is doing" disconnects! And, I can maybe understand the no bra, but no hearing aid, no glasses, what's that?
Well, after that diatribe, maybe I should go and do something positive while we're still home.
Have a good day. Life is still worth living and I'm going to try to remember that. Love to you all.
Indy
ETA: Somehow, I can't make this darker or bigger????

Good Morning to everyone!! It has been a busy morning around here, got Elly ready for the groomer. She just came and picked her up, so that's good. My housecleaner just arrived; she's very nice so that's a good thing. I really don't have anything to say this morning, so will sign off, wishing you all well. BJ.

Judy, I haven't had much pain at all except the first week or two, and it wasn't that bad. I have two bottles of strong medication left, lol. The wounds are not painful at all. They are small, just not completely closed yet.
I love my rug. Think I will go with the smaller size, 6x9, the next time. Molly is saying "why didn't you tell me you were taking my picture so I could smile?"
