WOW, I see it is really cold down south! It is freezing rain in Dallas and they shut down incoming flights. Aaron has to fly out to Galveston on Sunday for work for four days, so hopefully all travel will be ok by then. I know Galveston is far south, but one never knows.
Trish, Dean had both of our sons learn on a manual also. It is a handy skill to have. So many people do not know who to drive a manual shift car these days. Funny but true: a young man car jacked a man up in Cleveland, tried to move the car an could not because it was a manual. He jumped back out of the car and ran away. Police followed his footprints in the snow and arrested him. Swift justice! lol.
I am making pizza for supper tonight as it is a favorite of Dean's. He prefers it to any take out pizza place. I like it well enough but still prefer a pizza place. We have had salad every day this week for lunch so I am ready for pizza.
Carol, your doll are awesome. You are so creative.
BJ, our sky was so pretty today too, even though it was cold. It was only 18 degrees today but the sun was shining and the sky was vivid blue.
Trish, we do have the little libraries here in my area. I have two in the park were I walk and they also have two for little kids' books. We take a lot of our books and magazines there and they do not last long. I used to take them to a local senior center but they stopped taking things during Covid and I have not checked back with them. I should do that.
Judy, prayers for Howard. Devonne, hope you are getting better each day.

Janet, glad your power is back on and you made it back home safely. I had high vaulted ceilings in my last house and I hated them. They are a huge heat loss. I am happy to have normal height ceilings now.
I've been getting weather alerts and warnings all day. It starts at 7 am Friday and ends at 7 am Saturday. Not sure what we will get. I'm right on the borderline of snow and/or ice.
Placed a grocery order to be delivered at noon. Gary and Emily came over to bring it in and they put everything up.
Carol, you have a wonderful creative vision. Just beautiful!
I learned how to drive on a manual. We had a manual Geo Prizm years ago and I loved driving it and changing the gears. It took the curves so good.
Linda, I hope Darrell's cough is not something serious. Do you still have lunch with your sister occasionally?
Trish, have you tried to use the spinning wheel or are you just keeping it as a heirloom? I haven't been in my sewing room since March 2024. This was because of back pain. It's going to be a while longer, but hope one day!
BJ, I know you enjoy going for a little drive. It's nice to get out of the house.
Cheryl, I hope it's the last time for Aaron as well. I'm not quite a warrior all the time, but I do keep a positive attitude. I have daily fatigue, but I am making myself walk more...only in the house. Tightness in my chest is the worse thing. I've been told it will go away. I still have 3 weeks of healing.
I canceled my cruise with Greg and Carter for April 5th. After talking to the oncologist, he said he doubts I will feel like going on a long trip so soon. He offered to write a letter to Carnival...how nice was that! Not necessary.
Hope everyone keeps their power! Let's all stay warm.

HEADLINE:
CALF BORN TO FARMER WITH TWO HEADS!
AS EXPECTED ITS SUNNY AND COLD.
MY DAY WILL BE NORMAL. SAME STUFF TO DO AND FEEDING MY FACE.
JANET.......WE HAD A LONG DRIVEWAY WHEN I LIVED WITH MY SON. NOT AS LONG AS YOURS, BUT ABOUT 300 FEET AND ON A SLOPE. I HAD TO BE CAREFUL GOING DOWNHILL. I USUALLY PUT IT IN FIRST GEAR WHEN IT WAS ICY, TO STAY SAFE.
DEVONNE......ITS SO NICE THAT THINGS ARE MOVING FORWARD FOR YOU. THE KIDS ARE THERE WHEN YOU NEED THEM MOST SO A GOOD THING. I AM SURE ITS A LONG ROAD TO FEELING NEAR PERFECT AGAIN. YOU JUST HAVE TO TAKE IT A DAY AT A TIME AND DO WHAT YOU CAN AND NOT TOO MUCH.
LINDA.......YOU HAVE A GOOD HANDLE ON YOUR DH. I KNOW THEY CAN BE STUBBORN, SO HATS OFF TO YOU.
TRISH......LEARNING TO DRIVE A MANUAL SHIFT IS A GOOD THING. WHEN I WAS 15 I HAD A LEARNERS PERMIT AND STARTED LEARNING ON A MANUAL. BUT THEN NO CAR AVAILABLE TO ME. I DIDN'T GET A DRIVER'S LICENSE TIL I WAS ABOUT 35 AND NOT ON A MANUAL. I DOUBT I COULD GET THAT UNIFORMITY WITH A CLUTCH AND THE GAS PEDALS AT MY AGE.
I PLAN TO MAKE UP A BATCH OF TUNA FISH FOR SANDWICHES. ITS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I HAD ANY. AND THERE'S PIZZA FOR LEFTOVERS THAT I MADE LAST NIGHT. I DIDN'T HAVE ANY PEPPERONI SO I MADE IT WITH CHEESE AND GROUND BEEF COOKED IN A BIT OF PIZZA SAUCE. IT WAS SOOO GOOD.
I KEEP LOOKING AT MY UNFINISHED PROJECTS THINKING I MAY SEW A BIT BUT STILL NOT IN THE MOOD.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Looks like we have 2" of snow. Gary said more is coming later today. It looks pretty, but the dogs don't like it. Gracie doesn't know what to think about it, like "where did this come from?"
Like Sandra, I have so much food I don't know what to fix. I've decided on a BLT for lunch.

Good Morning to everyone!! It has really been raining, but just stopped! I really don't have a thing to say this morning. But did want to check in. Hope you are all doing well, it is 46* outside, so I'll be staying inside!!
Sending best wishes to everyone, hope the day goes well, BJ.
Online!
Good evening all.
Nothing much to report, but wanted to check in. Today was a sluggish day as I did not get much accomplished. I did sort and straighten my kitchen pantry so I would know what I had in there. Found 3 bottles of BBQ sauce! I did throw out some out dated stuff, but most if it went back in, but in a much more organized fashion.
It is very cold, so I have not been outside all day. Dean fed the birds for me so I would not have to go out. He is in and out all day since he spends so much time in his garage. Kelli's son, Kevin, and his family live near Birmingham Alabama and they posted on Facebook the snow they received. The kids were playing out in it. Such a treat for them, but not so much on the drivers.
Hoping all is well with you all.

CHERYL mine was a sluggish day too, went to training, then the group wanted to do a brunch, so did that, and pick dup a few things from the store, other than that I have been playing with my jigsaw, this one is taking a long time!
SANDRA and DEVONNE I recommend checking the fridge and seeing what has the shortest date and make something with that, it's what I have been doing LOL The Mr is out tonight, I forgot, so I will just have something light.
The fires are still raging for you (((((hugs)))) so sad for everyone in it's path, we can sympathise, so much of our Victorian state has been affected lately, just horrific.
SANDRA I must be tired, had to think about that joke for a good minute LOL I need to concentrate more.
JANET scary driving up slopes in icy conditions, I did a fair bit of driving in torrential rain, it was downhill and you could see the water pouring down, so easy to get swept up in it, and that wasn't ice. I know of someone who got caught in the rain like that, they called it water planning, the tyres just can't grip the road, and so many drivers on the roads not taking care, one almost hit us last night when I took the boys to the club, it would have hit John first, scared him, he said it was close, drivers coming home from work close to home and just not concentrating. He just took the corner too wide, missed me by a whisker!!
Hope you all are keeping warm, it's got hot and humid here, the washing is out, not drying well though, it will overnight in the house on the airing rack, I didn't;t do it till quite late, so not expecting miracles.
See you later.

Quite chilly here in central FL. They say it will continue to be below average for another week. I'm not looking forward to the next electric bill, but I hate to be cold.
Does anyone use Kroger delivery? I see their truck frequently around and about. Neither Publix or Walmart deliver to my address but I think Kroger will. I'd like to check it out.
Stay safe.

Kroger around here has pick up but not sure about delivery.
We got about 3 inches of snow last night. On top of the ice on the driveway already I won’t get out of here til Easter!!
My retreat is this Wed. DH said he’d drive me but it’s supposed to be ice again on Friday. So it will be a waste to go for 2 1/2 days out of the 5 ☹️. Oh well. I’m so bummed about some other things that it really doesn’t matter

NEWS ARTICLE......TWO CARS WERE REPORTED STOLEN BY THE GROVETON POLICE YESTERDAY.
WE GOT SOME SNOW. DOESN'T LOOK LIKE MUCH, MAYBE 2 INCHES OR A BIT MORE. BUT IT PLAYED HAVOC WITH MY INTERNET EARLIER.
TRISH......YES, SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO THINK ABOUT IT WHEN I POST A FUNNEEEEE. LIKE THE ONE ABOVE.
AS FOR CHECKING OUT THINGS THAT WILL RUN OUT SOON IN MY KITCHEN, I USUALLY DO. I USE UP THE LEFTOVERS PRETTY FAST AND THEN PREP MORE FOODS FOR THE WEEK.
OUR SNOW STOPPED. DOESN'T LOOK LIKE MUCH BUT IT STILL PLAYED HAVOC WITH MY TECHY STUFF. CABLE WAS ACTING UP SO HAD TO REBOOT. INTERNET PLAYING GAMES BY COMING IN AND OUT. I HOPE ITS RECTIFIED NOW. THE SNOW HAS STOPPED.
MY SON STOPPED IN FOR 15 MINS. HE CASHED A CHECK FOR ME YESTERDAY. I LIKE TO HAVE CASH ON HAND FOR EMERGENCIES.
HE WILL BE SHOPPING FOR ME NEXT WEEKEND. I NEED A FEW THINGS I'VE RUN OUT OF, LIKE PEPPERONI AND PIZZA DOUGH ALONG WITH MY USUAL FRESH VEGGIES AND MEATS.
ITS A SHAME THE SOUTH IS GETTING PUMMELED. YOU ARE NOT USED TO GETTING THIS COLD AND SNOWY/ICY WEATHER. ITS SECOND NATURE TO US IN THE NORTH YET WE MISSED IT. I AM GRATEFUL FOR THAT. I JUST HATE LOSING POWER.
NOTHING SPECIAL DOING TODAY. NO PLANS TO COOK IN CASE OF POWER LOSS. I HAVE LEFTOVERS SO I AM OK.
HAVE A GOOD DAY MY FRIENDS. HUGS, QB S

A local billboard here …. “ Ya’ll should stay off the road…when you learn how to drive on a warm sunny day, we’ll teach you how to drive in the snow.”
This is primarily a haven for retirees and vacationers…neither can drive.
DH cleaned off the car and truck. I told him not to bother with mine because I probably won’t drive again until Spring.

I think my driveway must be the only one that has no tire tracks, lol. No one in or out, lol. Completely snow covered this morning, but a lot has melted throughout the day.
Joni, hope Kroger does deliver to your address. I am lucky Walmart does deliver here.
I decided in the late evening to make vegetable soup. It will be my lunch tomorrow, then I'll freeze the rest. I freeze it in individual containers, enough for one meal.
Trish, I actually did what you said, so I'll be having polish sausage and kraut for dinner tomorrow.
