Gosh it was quiet here today, It's almost dinner and Pete has gone to get burgers for them and a salad for me, he wanted to get us dinner before we go away LOL
Nothing to report here, it turned cooler today, (well at least less that 80deg ) so it was welcome, yesterday it was raining and humid, then when the sun came out up went the temps, today was quite warm early but slightly cooler tonight, so it is lovely.
We had sewing group today, it was fun, we play a fat quarter game, so that was fun, we laughed a lot at that. We have fat 1/4s wrapped, then we pass them to the right or left according to the story she reads, it gets quite fast and boisterous LOL A bit of fun for the last day! e.g. " Mr Brown went to the store, first he turned left at the rounabout then right into the street, then he met Mrs Right right next door to the fruit stand" etc, etc LOL
I have been sorting clothes, getting a list done and also had a long talk with my friend who hubby died a few months ago, we had lunch on Friday with her, but we needed a long chat as well, as it was hard to have a long talk with everyone.
Hope your Sunday is uneventful and you all have a wonderful day, did you see where they re-opened Notre Dame in Paris, I saw some pics, it looks so beautiful. I remember seeing it many years ago, it reminds me more now of Westminster Abbey. They did beautiful work on it. Such a long time, but worth it.

Online!
There is a senior citizen driving on the highway. His wife calls him on his cell phone and in a worried voice says, ''Herman, be careful! I just heard on the radio that there is a madman driving the wrong way on Route 280!'' Herman says, ''I know, but there isn't just one, there are hundreds!''
WE GOT ABOUT 3 INCHES OF SNOW SO ITS A SNOW DAY. LUCKY FOR US IT ON SUNDAY.
I MADE MY BUNDIES AND MY TATER TOT SAUSAGE CASSY SO I AM ALL SET FOR THE DAY. WE GOT 3 INCHES OF THE WHITE STUFF ON THE GROUND AND MY SON SHOPS FOR ME TODAY. ITS ALL GOING ACCORDING TO PLAN.
I HAVE A SCHEDULE MADE FOR THE GOODIES I PLAN TO MAKE THIS MONTH. I HOPE TO FOLLOW IT AND HAVE PLENTY TO GIVE TO MY KIDS WHEN THEY VISIT FOR XMAS. BUT OF COURSE, SOMETIMES MY SCHEDULE DOESN'T ALWAYS HAPPEN. IF I HAVE A WONKY DAY ITS ALL SHOT TO HECK AND BACK. BUT WHATEVER I CAN MANAGE TO MAKE I AM SURE THEY WILL ENJOY.
I STILL HAVE TO DIG OUT MY XMAS DECOR AND MY APPLIQUE PATTERNS I MENTIONED. I KEEP MOVING THOSE 2 JOBS TO THE NEXT DAY'S LIST.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Somewhat warmer today 38* instead of yesterday’s 21*. Virginia is not the south, regardless of what the locals think.
Trish- I think your fq game would work at our up coming retreat in March. I co chair the games and frankly I’m tired of fq bingo and RLF, etc…
Cleaning this morning so I can play with my new machine this afternoon.

Hi, friends! It’s a cool, cloudy dreary day here. I went to church this morning but will miss our holiday potluck meal tonight (I no longer drive after dark). Instead I will finish a little Christmas decorating and sew a little.

Emily took Gary back to the ER. Can't hold any of his meds down. She told me not to come and she'll keep me informed.
I am supposed to be cleaning, but I've been watching TV all day, lol. I'm watching Christmas with the Kranks...so funny! Had never seen it before.

The above picture is what it looked like last Wednesday driving home from town. We were supposed to go to Duluth but changed our minds.
This is a four lane highway.
Today was the perfect winter/Christmas day. It snowed all day, big flakes, so pretty! I was making goodies to send to my son and had Christmas music playing.
I hope everyone gets to have a perfect day too!

It was 56 and sunny today but supposed to get down to 18 next week! We did get out and walk while the sun was shining today.
Amelia came over last yesterday and helped decorate the tree and put out all of my snowmen decorations. Many of them were gifts from Kelli as she loved snowmen, so I think of her when I see them. I still need to get the outdoor decorations up and will do that while it is still rather warm tomorrow.
Patty, that photo made me shiver!! We had that same wind/blowing snow/ the other day.
I have a few Christmas gifts for the grandkids since I hate to just give money. All are getting Adidas hoodies. Amelia did mention the other day that she would like Ugg boot (they are ugly!) but she knew they were too expensive. So I ordered them and they should be here Wednesday. Amazon had a pretty decent sale on them. In fact, the kit to clean the boots cost half the amount of the boots. But I thought she should have a cleaning kit. She will be surprised. I want her to get something as a surprise since she is only 11. She knows here dad is getting her a phone this year.
Aaron and kids took me for a late birthday supper at a local Chinese/Japanese/Asian(?) buffet. I am not a big fan of buffets but this one was super clean so it eased my mind. The service was great and the food was actually pretty good. We tried some foods we never would have ordered otherwise. Some we liked, others were not to our liking. Both kids like the prawn or crayfish, not sure of what they are called, but they are served all the time in the south in those seafood boils. Their little eyes were looking at me so, nope, nope nope! Not eating those things.
Good night all.

My goodness PATTY that is a lot of snow, but I bet it's pretty now with the lovely big flakes. Weird, it changed 'snow' to 'sand' ??? not even close on the keyboard LOL
CHERYL you would have hated one of the dishes we had we we saw Jesus Christ Superstar, it was deep fried (really really crispy) small prawns, the whole thing, eyes and all, they were so good!! We've also had them at a Japanese BBQ restaurant, they cook at a big hot plate in the centre and all the guests surround the chef, and they have the prawns cooking the whole time, turning occasionally, they are also so good, you just have to eat and crunch and not think too much about it LOL That is a fun night, they chat, toss food to your bowl and it's a fun time for everyone, they are really good at what they do!
SANDRA you are way ahead of me, no decorations, no food organised, no gifts LOL I do have a very clean house though, been cleaning everything, even the drains in the floor of the bathroom, and the return air for the A/C, it was filthy. I have tomorrow to get packed, but Drs first - just the last appointment for the eyes.
DEVONNE keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers, I do hope they can help him, know you are worrying! (((hugs))))
JANET I think you would all enjoy the game, google "pass it left and right fat 1/4 game" it should come up. I have no idea where Julie got it, there are a few different stories. I actually found the container of needles, it's no help, they are Tulip embroidery needles. I have never seen them before.
I was silly this morning, I had to do fasting blood work, OK, easy peasy, strip the sheets, put them in the wash, head out, do the blood test, go straight to the mall, grab a coffee and something quick to eat, get my nails done, and home - sounds easy right??? Well it IS easy - unless you leave the paperwork at home, LOL
I was still home by 10.30am after coming back and leaving again.
The washing is all done, the clothes haven't dried properly yet, it's been a kind of weird day, pretty humid, quite warm, but not hot. At least the sheets all dried, so they are done, I put the towels in the dryer.
I vacuumed all the carpets, put everything away, got 1/2 sorted in the spare room in case Sis visits, and I was so sticky and sweaty I just had a shower. I have my Sashiko packed ready to go, and got some cold/flu tablets - just in case we need them.
I have been thinking of my Dianne too CHERYL Christmas was HER time - she cooked, made lots of yummy things to give, and decorations???? Wow she had them all --- the house always looked fabulous. It was her favourite time of the year, I have Christmas Bush growing and it flowers now, so I will take some to her tomorrow, we'll be away for her birthday, I usually take it then. It was her favourite, and it's looking absolutely fantastic right now, she would be loving it.

JANET I googled " Left, right story, fat quarter game" It came up with Pinterest Quilting Retreat, they have a down load for the story, we used a Santa one, Julie found The Night Before Christmas, so there are a few around.

You know you're getting old when your wife says, "Honey, lets run upstairs and make love," and you answer, "I can't do both."
ANOTHER 1-3 INCHES OF SNOW EXPECTED TONITE. WINTER IS STARTING EARLY. LAST YEAR WE HAD VERY LITTLE SNOW THE WHOLE SEASON LONG.
THANK GOODNESS FOR MY SON SHOPPING FOR ME TWICE A MONTH. I FEEL SO BLESSED SINCE I DO NOT HAVE A CAR AND LET MY LICENSE EXPIRE. HE GOT EVERYTHING ON MY LIST. BUT THEN I FORGOT I NEEDED LIGHT BROWN SUGAR FOR MY P. BUTTER FUDGE. MY NEIGHBOR TOM SAID HE WILL PICK UP SOME FOR ME TODAY. I HAVE SUCH GOOD NEIGHBORS. AGAIN, I AM BLESSED.
WE HAD A NICE LUNCH HERE TOGETHER AND THEN I SENT MY SON HOME WITH BUNDIES AND TATER TOT CASSY FOR HIM AND GRANDSON ALONG WITH SOME ITALIAN SANDWICHES. I ALSO GAVE HIM THE XMAS ENVELOPES WITH CASH TO DISTRIBUTE TO HIS END OF THE FAMILY MEMBERS.
THE XMAS POT LUCK DINNER LIST FOR DEC. 19TH IS ON THE BOARD SO WE CAN SIGN UP AND WRITE IN WHAT WE WILL MAKE. ONLY A FEW OF US SO FAR BUT ITS JUST GONE UP THIS MORNING. AND OF COURSE, THE YANKEE GIFT SWAP. I WROTE IN HORS'DOEUVRES SINCE I PLAN ON TINY ITALIAN MEATBALLS ON TOOTHPICKS WITH RED SAUCE.
CHERYL......I REMEMBER KELLY AND HER SNOWMEN. SHE GOT ME INTERESTED IN THEM AND I LOVE MY FEW ITEMS THAT ARE SNOWMEN. I THINK OF HER WHEN I SEE THEM. YES, I STILL MISS HER.
DEVONNE.......I HOPE YOUR GARY IS DOING BETTER TODAY. MAYBE WITH ALL THE EXTRA CARE AND ATTENTION, HE'LL FIND THE RIGHT COMBO TO FIX HIM UP FINE. HUGS FOR GARY.
PATTY.......WOW, THAT'S A LOT OF SNOW. I KNOW MINNESOTA IS THE HOME FOR SNOW IN THE WINTER. I'M GLAD TO LIVE IN MAINE WHERE FOLKS EXPECT THE WORST BUT ITS BETTER THAN THE NORTHERN MIDWEST STATES IN COLD AND SNOW.
I AM TIRED TODAY. WOKE TOO EARLY. THAT HAPPENS WHEN I HAVE PLANS BUBBLING IN MY BRAIN. SO FAR I GOT THE MEATS BAGGED AND FROZEN, THE TRASH AND RECYCLES OUT AND MY PEANUT BUTTER BALL RECIPE OUT. THOSE I WILL MAKE THIS AFTERNOON.
MOVED MY JIGSAW PUZZLE BACK TO THE SMALL CARD TABLE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COMMON ROOM. ITS MAPLE AND VERY STRONG BUT NOT LARGE LIKE OUR OTHER TABLES IN THE COMMON ROOM. I WANTED TO MAKE ROOM FOR THE LUNCHEON TOMORROW. WE USUALLY USE THE OTHER TABLE FOR LAYING OUT FOOD TRAYS.
THAT'S IT LADIES. WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

I have no energy today; I think it's lack of sleep. I can work for 30 minutes and that's it. I did get all the bedding washed and the mattress topper will finish drying over the sofa. I can't lift this after surgery.
Gary and Emily left the ER at midnight. He was there over 10 hours. He was in afib (think that's the 1st time?) and in a lot of pain. Today, they were at the dental office at 9 a.m. There was so much infection, they had to lance his jaw. He can start healing now.
Patty, looks like the 4 lane turned into a one lane. I would love to see some snow, but just enough for the kids to enjoy building a snowman and gone in a day or two!
Trish, I wish I had your energy. I actually thought about buying some of those energy drinks, but I don't want to feel wired, lol! I'll get more sleep.
Offline
DEVONNE don't buy those things, they have so many chemicals in them, the most I do is have a Berroca, and I will take some away with us! Getting enough rest between doing chores, and drinking plenty of water helps me, I sleep better if I drink plenty during the day and evening.
Hope your poor boy is feeling better, they really need to watch that they get it all out (infection) can turn to blood infections so quickly, i am sure he has plenty of meds. It is so painful having an abscess, had one years ago, never forget that pain.
SANDRA sounds like it is going to be a good night for your pot luck, I love the meatball idea. they are always popular here too. i wish I could do a big shop before we go, but will have to leave it now, I would be crazy trying to get everything I need for christmas, I do have the seafood John loves in the freezer already, so that at least is done.
MARYLOU have you settled back home, I still don't mind driving at night, is it the lights that bother you, or just being in the dark, I find it peaceful LOL Unless there are lots of huge trucks on a country road, the lights from those are BRIGHT!!
Julie and I have been messaging while we packed today, her hubby is so like the Mr, I was 'busy' this afternoon when he did his, Julie was 'going for her walk' LOL apparently they both do the same, want a discussion on every item. Too funny, the only discussion we had was "My dress shirt for the tuxedo needs pressing" Me - " I can press it now OR on the ship, not both, you choose". He chose well LOL
I packed, then thought about it when I picked up Dean, so came home and removed a number of things, I had too much.
I have only to put the toiletries, brush/comb etc in the bag tomorrow, I will wash my hair and we hope to leave around 11.30am, we are either getting an Uber or booking a taxi, still undecided. Megan says Uber, I would have to add my credit card to the App, but she says I can delete it straight away, AND I can book a large car, often taxis here have the old battery style "in the boot" thing, so it's harder for 2 large bags. Poor Pete is upset he can't take us, he has back to back meetings all day and he was planning on working from home
I contacted Tracy to give her our website here, and a new password for BJ, but they have to set it up for her on the new computer, Frank got an "all clear" from the Dr after surgery, they think they have taken everything they needed to.
Online!
Mother: "Sweetie, make a Christmas wish."
Girl: "I wish that Santa will send some clothes to those naked girls in papa's computer."
WE GOT ABOUT 3 MORE INCHES OF SNOW. WILL BE COLD SO NO CHANCE OF IT MELTING RIGHT AWAY. OUR PLOW GUYS HAVE BEEN HERE BUT WILL COME THRU AGAIN WHEN THE CARS ARE MOVED.
WE HAVE OUR XMAS LUNCHEON TODAY FROM MGMT. I AM SHOWERED AND DRESSED SO ALL READY FOR FUN.
TRISH.....THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR KEEPING US UP-TO-DATE ON BJ AND HER FAMILY. AND THE THREADS. WHAT WOULD I DO WITHOUT YOU.
I HAD MY COMPUTER STORE UPLOAD MY STUFF FROM ONE COMPUTER TO THE NEW ONE. I COULD NEVER HAVE DONE IT MYSELF. I ENVY THOSE THAT ARE COMPUTER LITERATE.
I HAD AN ABCESSED TOOTH TWICE, BOTH TIMES CAUSED BY A POPCORN KERNEL SKIN WEDGING UNDER MY GUMS. VERY PAINFUL EXPERIENCE. HENCE I HAVE NEVER EATEN POPCORN AGAIN. ITS NOT WORTH THE AGONY. ITS WORSE THAN CHILDBIRTH.
MY DR AND MY ONLINE PHARMACY GOT TOGETHER AND CLEARED THE MEDICATION ERROR. I AM SCHEDULED TO GET MY NEXT MEDS WHEN I SHOULD. IT WAS A CONCERN FOR A FEW DAYS.
I MADE A BATCH OF PEANUT BUTTER BALLS LAST NITE. MMMM, GOOD. LATER TODAY I WILL TRY MY FIRST BATCH OF PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE, THANKS TO TOM, MY NEIGHBOR. HE GOT ME ENOUGH LIGHT BROWN SUGAR FOR ALL MY INTENDED PROJECTS AND MORE. I HAVE TO DO THEM NOW WHEN I AM FEELING I HAVE THE ENERGY SO WHEN I GET A WONKY DAY, I CAN FORGET IT AND JUST REST.
I AM THANKFUL FOR A BRIGHT DAY FULL OF FUTURE.
I AM THANKFUL FOR HELPFUL NEIGHBORS.
I AM THANKFUL FOR MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY LADIES. HUGS FOR ALL. QB S

It’s a nasty foggy rainy day. I was supposed to go to my quilt bees holiday luncheon today. I opted out. Just didn’t feel like it. I have 2 more holiday luncheons…the guild and another bee. I do t like these group gatherings.

This is days late, but Yes, Mary Lou, you can come for supper next time I have beef/gravy and mashed potatoes. You, too, Cheryl.
Since the temperature was above 50 yesterday, we went for our long-postponed "trip" up to Lake Michigan. (10 miles) In the summer, we drove by the overlook we always go to and they had the concrete all torn out and I wanted to see what the change was for better access to the lake. They'd put in a long ramp and added some sort of plastic sidewalk that make it accessible to walkers/wheelchairs. I took my cane but if/when we go back, I'll use the walker as it's quite a distance. The shifting sands had already started to overtake the ramp. Anyway, we enjoyed this short interlude in our uneventful days. Stopped at the grocery for 4 pieces of fried chicken for supper and $50 later... obviously, we got more than 4 pcs. of chicken!
Trish, hope you have a lovely time on your cruise. Lots of preparation when you go anywhere.
For one thing, I'm lucky--Howard always packs for himself with no comment. He traveled for those 10 years and is very adept at it. And, since we don't ever need any dress clothes, it's not too complicated.
Devonne, I'm hoping Gary is now on the mend. What an ordeal for him and all of you. Hope, also that you're able to get some decent sleep. There's a lot on your mind.
I'm still piddling around Christmas decorating. For our mutual Christmas present, I just ordered a little tabletop Dura Flame heater with flames. (Howard says go ahead, call it whatever (our mutual present) makes me feel sanctioned to buy something rather useless.) He, as an electrician, knows it won't put out that much heat, but we both think we would like something with a fireplace effect which you can use without heat. Something for "fun"...
QB, hope you have a jolly time at your Christmas party. Nice of Tom to get that sugar for you.
I do believe it is YOU who has made your neighbors friends as well as neighbors with your generosity to all. Bless you for doing that.
I must go and continue on with decorating and other stuff. Hugs!
Indy

Trish, hope you have a wonderful time on your cruise. What ship is it and how many days will you be gone? Do you pack formal wear for the formal picture nights? We never did do that...just no interest. We preferred taking our own casual pictures around the ship.
I went to the doctor today for a urine specimen. I was sure I had a UTI, but the results in My Chart looks like everything is negative. Why do I get goosebumps and chills? It goes away as fast as it comes.
Took Gary lunch from McD's and I had a fish fillet sandwich. He is still rather swollen. He is on Augmentin.
Went thru all my pants/shorts this morning and got them organized by what to wear after surgery. I need loose clothes, so it will be sweatpants and I'll try shorts too. Whichever is easier to pull up, lol.
Judy, enjoy your little heater. I think you would like the little electric fireplace I bought last year. It's only two foot wide, but puts off some good heat (not great) and doesn't take up a lot of room. It has 4 legs and sits on the floor, and comes with a remote.
