Our Thanksgiving will be a rainy one. Emily is doing the cooking, but Gary and I will be helping her with the chopping and peeling. They have been staying here for about a week, but will go back home Friday. The kids will be back in school Monday.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. I am thankful for your kind words and support, the love and support my family is providing and another day of His grace and blessings.
We are preparing ourselves for the blast of cold weather headed our way this weekend....brrr!!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
Special thoughts and prayers for Devonne. All of you remain in my heart every day.
Still working on the vacation pictures. I had to go to Best Buy to get a "thingie" to transfer pictures from my phone to my computer. I did figure out how to get them printed at CVS. 245+! Yikes!
I sent a few of you an email. I can't figure out how to do a PM to multiple users at once, and I know some don't check their PMs (guilty hand high in the air here).

Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving!🤗🙏🏻🤗
Today is a day of thanks, 🙏🏻 and I consider all of you among my many blessings in life!
Devonne, I'm sending up extra prayers for you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 You've had a lot thrown at you, and I'm so sorry about the diagnosis! It sounds as though you have made an informed decision and are at peace with it. It was undoubtedly a tough decision to make, but I think it sounds very smart and proactive. 🙏🏻
Janet, your light bulb story is tooooo funny! 😂
I better run! Much to do today!
Happy Thanksgiving! 😊

One day Jimmy got home early from school and his mom asked, "Why are you home so early?" He answered, "Because I was the only one that answered a question in my class." She said, "Wow, my son is a genius. What was the question?" Jimmy replied, "The question was 'Who threw the trash can at the principal's head?'"
I HOPE EVERYONE WORE THEIR STRETCHY PANTS. MORE ROOM FOR FOOD. MMMMM.
CHERYL......ITS A SPECIAL DAY FOR YOU TODAY. HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I HOPE YOU GET TO ENJOY IT AND BE A LADY OF LEISURE. HUGS.
AND THANK YOU FOR THE OFFER OF THE PUZZLES. I AM IN GOOD SHAPE FOR NOW AND THE COMING YEAR I THINK.

TODAY I VACUUMED AND WILL TAKE OUT THE TRASH AND RECYLES WHEN DONE HERE. I DUG OUT MY WINTER COAT FOR THE SEASON. I DOUBT THERE WILL BE ANY MORE WARM DAYS FOR A FEW MONTHS AT LEAST.

Everybody must be sleeping in this morning. Just kidding... I've just read all your Thanksgiving greetings so here are mine a day late--was too busy in the morning yesterday, and too tired last evening.
I made what Mom always made: raspberry jello with orange/cranberry relish in it. Easy peasy, but tartly good with Thanksgiving food. Also, did some green beans with bacon and onion, the Southern way. Howard always comes home first. by himself and Andrew always brings me home later.
Nice for us to be only 5 miles/minutes away. Danny and Emmy came so there were 7 of us.
There are many small birds outside picking in the grass or looking on the deck for food. I've seen sparrows, of course, titmice, a house finch and even one tiny wren, my favorite song bird and a surprise since they always go South, early. Guess someone stayed??? And two large (in comparison to the others) blue jays. I love these days between Thansgvg. and the Christmas startup...
Cheryl, we had one lone pumpkin pie for all of us. Your desserts all sounded luscious. ETA: Happy, Happy Birthday!
Trish, thanks for asking about ML. She just seems to struggle with one health issue and then another. She said everything went perfectly in the kitchen yesterday and she did have Andrew's help but her energy flagged after we ate and she began to feel poorly. Danny and Emmy are very loud and funny and we all enjoyed ourselves but it was still a bit much for her. (She's feeling much better this morning, though.)
For Christmas, she brought up and asked if we could order something in and we all heartily agreed. We always gather on another day other than Christmas so places being open is not an issue. I always had Thanksgiving and Christmas for years and I know how hard it is, but I was stronger than she at each age and managed to get thru it. I assured her that everyone is different and we'll work it out. Pam and Danny never offer and never will and that's just the way it is. On a more postive note, I sat there yesterday and was most thankful for the love my two kids show me, no matter what...
Carol, are these hard copies of your pictures? I think so... I'm not a fan at all of every picture being on my phone. It's not the same to me--I either can't find them or can't see them as well.
However, I must say in the days when we got pictures developed and put them in an album, I seldom get those albums out and look thru them. But, I do know where they are!
With that, I'll close and go get dressed. It's one minute short of noon here, so it's high time.
Have a lovely, peaceful weekend The kids tell me that door buster shopping is a thing of the past with all the on-line shopping now. Well, I never did that, anyway...

Cheryl, a very happy birthday. I hope you get to relax today!
Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Me, Gary and Emily worked in the kitchen, but Emily did 70% of it.
I got up this morning and Gary had already left. We had another load of dishes to go in the dishwasher and he left the kitchen spotless. I got used to them being here and miss them already! Emily had to work today. Working retail is very demanding. I'm glad I wasn't in that line of work.
Online!
Thanks friends for the birthday wishes. It has been a very quiet day. It is raining/sleeting out so I have stayed in all day. DILs texted me, both sons called me and wished me happy birthday. Anthony talked to me for 20 minutes, which is a long time for him. He takes after me and is not a talker. Dean and Aaron, on the other hand, talk, talk, talk!! lol Aaron did want to know if I wanted to go out to eat; I said no thanks since we have so much food leftover here.
Devonne, my DIL Katie is in retail also and she has to work today and all weekend. My DIL Emmily is a hospital lab administrator and she works from home. She loves it.
I am not a picture taker either, especially with my phone. I have never taken a "selfie" People today take more pics of themselves than anybody else. Judy, we have lots of photo albums from when the boys were small and they do not want them now. I never take them out to look at either as they are in boxes in the basement. I have several that belonged to my mom as well as a few that belonged to Dean's mom. Nobody wants them these days.
I think I will go sew or cut fabric for a while since Dean is at the gym working out. He goes every day. He is is great physical shape and is not on any medications at all. He says now I am as old as he, but he will be 70 in February, so I said I will never be as old as him. It is a standing joke with all of us.
Devonne, my Dean does not cook but he helps prep when he can and he always does the clean up, so that is a good deal for me. Sounds like Gary does good work too!!

A 92 year old man is walking through a park and sees a talking frog. He picks up the frog and the frogs says, “If you kiss me, I will turn into a beautiful princess and be yours for a week.” The old man puts the frog in his pocket. The frog screams, “Hey if you kiss me, I will turn into a beautiful princess and make love to you for a whole month.” The old man looks at the frog and says, “At my age I’d rather have a talking frog.”
ANOTHER NIPPY MORNING BUT SUNNY. NICE.
MY S.S. CHECK WAS IN MY BANK ALREADY. TIME TO MAKE OUT MY CHECKS AND GET THEM MAILED EARLY.
WATCHED ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL MARATHON FROM START TO END THE LAST 2 DAYS. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT SEASON TO BEGIN.
AM ALSO HAVING LEFTOVERS AGAIN TODAY. LUCKY ME I LIKE MY LEFTOVERS AND HAVE A COUPLE OF CHOICES TO ENJOY.
GOT MY PLACE VACUUMED, WASHED A SINKFUL OF DISHES, AND LAID BACK MOST OF YESTERDAY.
TODAY GOT MY PILLS AND SUPPLEMENTS READY FOR THIS WEEK AND WILL UPDATE MY CALENDAR FOR DECEMBER. WILL WORK A BIT ON MY JIGSAW PUZZLE, TOO.
NO PLACE TO GO TODAY. MY DAY CAN OFTEN BE DULL BUT AT MY AGE I GUESS THAT'S A GOOD THING.
HAVE A GOOD DAY EVERYONE. HUGS, QB S

Online!
Another lazy day here. I made some turkey vegetable soup with some of the left overs since I am tired of turkey today. The house smells wonderful with the soup simmering on the stove.
I need to run to the store soon to get some basic items but it is so cold out that I do not want to go out. Even Dean came in and said his hands were freezing and the cold usually does not bother him.
Have a great day all.

This needs to be quick. Howard asked me to cut his hair and I agreed. Have tried on what I'm going to wear tomorrow for our small group Christmas lunch at a wonderful Italian restaurant. And, I've already called them to verify the reservation since I made it some weeks ago. And, I made sure that they still serve the entree that I had last year and so I could tell Howard. He's already checked out the menu and declared he doesn't see anything he wants. Seafood Alfredo was my choice last year and I know he'd like that better than whatever? he had then. Oh the hoops I have to jump through with him...
Sounds like some of us are hunkered down and enjoying some quiet time after the Big Day.
Devonne, I'm so glad you're being pampered a bit. You deserve it. And Cheryl, you also by your family, for your birthday. QB, is there a time of day when your bit of boredom comes over you? Sometimes, I'm amazed at the variety of feelings, emotions, and fatigue that wash over me each day. If I read something, regularly, those all seem to calm down. TV, while I'm hooked doesn't do that. It often riles me up.
So, I'm off the change into my everyday clothes, and get his hair cut before the next, "important" football game!
